Like Jesus disciples we sometimes do not walk stable following him! We waver in faith getting off the road that leads to life! The disciples would sometimes get off the foundation! Their heart was not always united with Christ! Reverence and respect for his name was not always there! Peter denied Jesus even though he told him he would die for him! He eventually did in Rome years later! Jesus told us to go out into all the world and preach the Gospel! We say let the church do it! Let an organization do it! Pay them so I do not have to do it! Our gift’s God has given us cannot be used unless we do what Jesus told us to do! At the feeding of the 5000 Jesus asked the disciples what do they have? The disciples wanted to send the crowd away! We do not have money to feed this large crowd? Cancel the meeting! Send them home! The disciples were perplexed? They can buy their own food! A little boy in the crowd came prepared! He had more than enough for himself! He had a little faith! Enough faith to give Jesus everything he had! The little boy gave his all! He had the gift of 5 loaves and 2 fish! Bring what you have to Jesus! God will multiply it! Let God bless what you have! Really what he has given you! Doesn’t seem like much but enough! He will multiply it to feed everyone! God is greater than what you have! Have you figured this out yet? Do something with what God has given you! With your life! Don’t waste it on drugs and go to work! With the left overs from a miracle you can feed even more people! Twelve baskets full! Israel had twelve tribes and Jesus had twelve disciples! God can build a nation out of left overs! God can build a church with left overs! God has more than enough for your family! He has more than enough for your church! God can bless you if you bring all you have to him! Peter build my church! Do you want to distribute God to the world? Or keep him for yourself? Sow the seed you have! Do not eat your seed! Share and multiply what you have! The rich young ruler was not able to do that? He valued his possessions more than God! I don’t need to tithe and make offerings? The possessions God had given to him he could not give back! If you give to God what you have he will do more with it than you ever could by yourself! The graveyard is full of excuses! Even David who wrote this Psalm waivered at times! Jesus never did! Wait on God but not on anything else! Do what God has called you to do! Help the needy and the lost! Go after those the world has rejected! Pray and agree with God! Jesus had every excuse to quit! The crown of thorns was very painful! The betrayal of his disciples was painful! His back cut open and bleeding was painful! His Cross was heavy! Your will be done! God’s will is not easy! Jesus did not come in his own name! He came from Heaven to earth in his Father’s name! Jesus told the crowd that you receive me not? However if another shall come in his own name you will receive him? Jesus whole walk on this earth was to give his Father the glory! What much of the world cannot stand is for you to come to them in Jesus name! If you tell the world my name is Frank, Sally or George they have no problem! But if you come to them in the name of Jesus all Hell breaks loose! Most people have a Visa or credit card. The bank that has given you the card has given you a loan or some credit! If you took the name of the bank off the credit card it would be worthless! You purchase by credit in the name of the bank! Your name on the card by itself would not even buy you a can of beans! Our power and authority does not come from our own name but from the name that is above all names! When we call on Jesus name it gets the attention of the Father just as a charge on your Visa gets the attention of the bank! Without the recognition of the bank or the recognition of the Father your request will be denied! The Father listens for the name of Jesus from your lips! Some people curse rather than praise Jesus! Do people go around cursing their bank? Your credit rating is all about you honoring your bank by paying back the loan! How much credit do you give Jesus for your life? How is your spiritual credit rating? Have you refused to give the credit for which he has paid out to you on the Cross for your sin? The debt was paid by him! Your debt! Greek Translation: “He was despised and rejected of maimed and crippled men; a man maimed by sorrows and grief; and we hid it were our faces from him; he was despised like Emperor Claudius who was poisoned by his wife Agrippina so her son Nero could assume power.” Comment: There are four English words translated from the Greek that shed light on this scripture. The words men and man comes from the Strongs #376 which means crippled or maimed! The Strongs root word for Strongs #376 is Strongs #303 which means reversed! That is the condition of man in the Garden of Eden was reversed! From life to death! From health to sickness! The next word aquainted is Strongs #3045. This word means fat! Jesus was surrounded by sorrows like a fat man surrounded by his fat! Dead men needed life but instead rejected him! Man maimed by sorrows and grief hid their faces from him? The word esteemed is the Roman name Claudius. This is Strong’s number 2803. The name Claudius means crippled! Just like Claudius Jesus was betrayed by those he loved! Judas went for the money! Peter denied him three times! All his disciples abandoned him and even His Father! Nothing has changed in the Centuries following including the 21st Century! The Way of the Cross! Isaiah 35:8
Hebrew Translation: “And a highway shall be there and a way of life with the behavior of men, and it shall be called, cried out and preached to a name. The way of life is holiness, set apart sacred and dedicated; the unclean, polluted and defiled shall not pass or cross over it; but it shall be for those; the wayfaring wondering to and fro men, though fools, shall not stagger or go astray therein.” Comment: This is a fascinating scripture! The unclean, polluted and defiled shall not pass over to it yet there shall be a way for the wayfaring, stumbling running to and fro fools! So the bums, fools and staggering wanderers will not go astray but find cleanliness and redemption! So who cleans them up? The lost people who recognize they need a savior and cannot save themselves but trust in their God for Salvation cross over into eternal life! The other group who trust in themselves, their title and position in life through human achievements and their own efforts will not cross over into eternal life! The Rich Hate Him! The Poor Love Him!
Has anything changed in 2000 years? Here is a comment in Pontius Pilate’s letter to Tiberius Caesar’s describing the Crucifixion of Jesus that happened under his provincial authority: “The rich Jews hated Him and curse him behind his back and call him an Egyptian necromancer! The poor people love him and claim him as their King and deliverer from Roman authority!” Comment: In America today it is the rich atheistic Jews in Hollywood, Media, commerce and Political positions who are trying to stomp Jesus name out of American culture! However not the orthodox Jews as they support conservative values! The same spiritual battle carries on in 21st Century America as it did in 1st Century Palestine! The poor love him and the rich hate him? Why? The rich trust in their wealth and the poor trust in their Savior! I saw the same thing in India the 3 years we lived there! However there are some rich people who do not love money but Christ as Joseph of Armithea did! We find some Pastor’s who compromise the Gospel for money and book sales! Do we need another Book beside the Bible? I think not! If the millions of dollars spent on books about Jesus would be spent on missions I think the world would be better evangelized and faster! However I would rather see this money spent on books about Jesus that spent on stuff we do not need! The important point here to know your Bible otherwise a book about Jesus could deceive you unless you know the Bible! This was Hillary’s closing statement in the democratic debate last night? I expected the politically correct Happy Holidays but that did not happen either? What force is she talking about? The Air Force? The forced conversions to Islam? Is she talking about abortions? The forced removal of Crosses and Christmas Tree’s across America? The taking away of our guns? Is she talking about Herod who used force to murder all the children of Bethlehem two years and younger to kill baby Jesus? Is she talking about force used to murder 14 American’s at a Christmas party? She did not use any force to rescue our 4 American’s in Libya? Let me share a commentary on Star Wars. “The Force was a dark side, which feeds off emotions, such as anger, jealousy, fear, lust and hate. The Sith embraces the dark side in order to seize power.” Does God force Himself down our throats? Absolutely not! God is love! For God so loved the world that He gave us His only Son! When I was on my death bed as a young man in 1973 I knew it was my last night on earth! Believe me when it comes you will know! I called out to a name I really did not know? I had been taught in my childhood that his name was above every name! Jesus came into my hospital room that night and said just 3 words! God loves you! Even Jacob his grandson was still referred to as a Syrian! However God did change his name to Israel. Were they Syrian refugee’s? It says in the above scripture Abraham was ready to perish in Syria! They immigrated out of Syria. God saw it fit to get them out! God can Bless anyone from anywhere! Islam did not come along until 4000 years later. Suggested Name Change For Washington Redskins!
I hereby suggest the new name should be the Washington Pigskins! My only concern is Obama may still sue the team representing the Geico Pig! Obama is pushing Global Warming again? With the Middle East on fire and our southern border being invaded are there not more important issues? The political issue of Global warming can be simply defeated by looking at science! False Prophets! Not all that shines is gold! Jesus warning His disciples. Wolves attack just to kill while other beasts kill only for food. Assassins! Dressed in sheep clothing. They look like you, dress like you, have a good church language but are suicide bombers wearing a Christian costume. Intentional people who purposely mislead us to hurt. Evil at the core. Verse 16- By their fruit you will recognize them. Good or Bad! True or False! Pay attention to the right thing. Walk and be not deceived. Good fruit is moral fruit. Bad fruit is immoral or evil fruit. Verses 21-23. Final Judgment! I prophesied in your name? I cast out demons in your name? I did miracles in your name? Jesus said but I never knew you! Worst thing you could ever hear! Warning! Big crowds always follow those who perform prophecy, cast out demons and perform miracles. They may be genuine or total deceivers? Work for the right fruit. Do they sell products and then sprinkle Jesus on top of their sales pitch? How does fruit come? Fruit takes time to produce. Galatians 5:22- Fruit of the spirit is love, joy, peace———-. Is our motivation on self or Christ? Look for sound doctrine! Is your household built on sand or rock? 2Timothy 4:3-4. People want a doctrine that fits their desires. Our desire and God’s desire is different. Make me happy God! The 21st century church theology is called; Moralistic Therapeutic Deism. It says that God is here to make me happy! Use Jesus to get what you want. No sound doctrine. A lot of money made under this false doctrine. Money made in the God business. Why? It sells! Itching ears. We want to hear this! Pleases the flesh. Marketing 101- Find out what the people want and tell them how to get it. Politicians today- They follow the culture rather than lead it! Flow with the stream down the drain. Sound doctrine- Iron sharpens iron. Follow Jesus. Believe Him. False Prophets will appear to go along with the Gospel but yet will say Jesus did not die and raise from the dead. The Death and Resurrection of Christ is foundational to our Faith! The Nicene Creed has been foundational to our Faith for over 1600 years. The early church father’s wrestled these heresies to the ground for us. You have to be able to discern truth to avoid the destruction of the false!
