Meditate on His Word!
Just as one spoils the stomach by overfeeding and thereby impairs the whole body, so can one overload and choke the mind by giving it too much nourishment! For the more one reads the fewer are the traces left of what one has read; the mind is like a tablet that has been written over and over. However it is impossible to reflect; and it is only by reflection that one can assimilate what one has read. If one reads straight ahead without pondering over it later, what has been read does not take root, but is for the most part lost. Arthur Schopenhauer (1788-1860) Commentary: College was the best example! I would cram for the final exams then move on to the next semester! However I could not recall anything I had learned? There was no time to reflect and contemplate the material! The cow chews his cud and tastes the food twice! We are to study and show ourselves approved unto God! Study his word! Recall, review and recite his word! Reflect on what has been said to you through his word! One of the signs of the end times according to Jesus is that knowledge shall increase! Spoken & Written Word!
1 Corinthians 4:20 “For the [kingdom] of God is not in [word], but in [power].” Commentary: This scripture may at first seem contradictory until we break down these bracketed Greek words. So what and where is the kingdom? It is a royal dominion world without end! God ruling within the human heart! It is a everlasting eternal kingdom! It never gets old or diminishes with time! Time only confirms it! God wants to rule the earth through his people! Satan wants to rule in the hearts of men for their destruction! This is the basis for all conflict between good and evil! The word of God is an intelligent word! We have the spoken word and the written word. God spoke the worlds into existence! The recorded spoken words of God are in your Bible! The word power used in this verse means one with great ability! Capable to will his purpose in the earth! One who exercises dominion and authority with strange and marvelous works! Power to heal the sick and raise the dead! His will is expressed by the power released through his word! You could leave your Bible on the night stand for twenty years and collect dust but the power of his word would never be released! Why? Because the written word when spoken releases the power of God! You can read your Bible but until you speak the word power is not released! How shall we hear without a preacher? Political correctness and cancel culture is all about muting speech about God! Happy Holidays not Merry Christmas? They do not want the name of Jesus uttered from your lips! The churches are burned and members assaulted to produce fear so you will not name the name above all names! They threaten court action and prosecute you if you identify with Christ in the market place! You can now lose your job if you work for a corporation that supports the counter culture! It is an attack on your first amendment rights! The first amendment is first because our Founding Father’s understood what would come to try to destroy our nation! The power of good or evil is released by words! Truth or lies! After Hitler wrote his Mein Kampf was quoted as saying until I spoke the words of my book to crowds the words had no power over the people! Words are either truth or lies! Satan told Eve surely God has not said? Children in our public schools are worshippers of Darwin! There is no God! A lie! Only evolution! We are answerable to no one! We make ourselves God and decide who lives and dies! Then rebellion and revolution are in our streets! No law and order! We make our own laws that oppose the Kingdom of God! Life is no longer important! Abortion is great! Destruction is their theology! Death is their creed! If you read and then speak the word of God you bring life to men! Live by His Word!
Psalm 119: 8-9 “I will keep thy statutes, O forsake be not utterly. Wherewithal shall a young man cleanse his way? By taking heed thereto according to his word.” Commentary: All of us has probably been forsaken by someone! It means to be abandoned, put aside or left behind. You have seen the dog along the highway looking at each car thinking his owner is coming back for him! Eventually he gets hit by a vehicle! We have all been forsaken by someone! Whether a parent, spouse, friend, pastor, Rabbi, Priest, politician or any combination of mortal men! Remember Jesus words on the Cross! Why have you forsaken me? God did not abandon his Son but Jesus had to suffer for our sin on the Cross alone because we all had abandoned God! God has not abandoned you but Satan with his lies will try to convince you he has! Jesus is only one breath away from you calling on his name! He will never leave you or forsake you! How shall a young man cleanse his way? The same way an old man has to cleanse his way! God’s word is a lamp unto my feet and a light unto my path! To follow God’s pathway he will light your way with his word! The other pathway is darkness! Stumbling in the dark! Word used here means God’s prophetic revelation to man! It is God’s spoken word recorded in your Bible! The Ten Commandments are God’s declaration to man as to how to live! To keep his word releases his promises to you! To reject his word is to release his judgment on us! Blessings or curses depending on what you do with his word! To be rejected by men will come but to be rejected by God only a fool would promote! Jesus was rejected and despised of men by the very people that he went to the Cross for! You and me! The love of God can never be better displayed than God dying on a Cross for his enemies! For you and me! Jesus said to love your enemies! This is not humanely possible but only to those that have discovered personally the love of God! His love to us is expressed through his word! Read it and discover it for yourself! Protecting God’s Word!
Psalm 119:4 Hebrew Translation: “God has commanded us to establish, make firm and appointed us with the authority as a Commander to keep or build a hedge with thorns around as a garden or as a shepherd over his flock to keep safe and preserve his Commandments or statutes and laws. To inspect, review and preserve them and they are entrusted to you to be responsible to them and for them.” Comment: Are you in charge of God’s Word or is popular culture in charge of you? I would rather be popular with God than with men! Is evolution in charge of you? Is homosexuality in charge of you? Is transgenderism in charge of you? Is lesbianism in charge of you? Is political correctness in charge of you? Are the abortionist in charge of your babies? Are sanctuary cities in charge of you protecting criminals from you? Or is God in charge of you? Is socialism and open borders and the one world government in charge of you? What political leaders do you vote for and submit to? Who have you voted for to be in charge of you? Do they protect God’s Word in our culture or trash God’s Word? Do they themselves mock and violate God’s Word? Do they attack and mock Jews and Christians? Do they turn God’s Commandments into hate crimes? Do they call evil good and good evil? Do you accept or reject God’s authority to preserve and promote his Commandments in our culture? Are you a little mouse who runs from the slightest resistance of God’s Word? If you are any of the above then repent and read and study God’s Word to understand that if he cannot trust you with his Word down here in earth you will relinquish the right to sit with him in Heaven! Student of the Word?
If you are a student of the Word you always will be! Jimmy Carter is 95 years old yet still teaching the Bible! Why? Because he understands the Word of God is eternal! He the Christ the Word is the same yesterday, today and forever! The technology I studied 50 years ago in school is in the museum! So are the books! What you are studying today in school will be in the museum 50 years from now! The Bible never changes across the ages! What was true six thousand years ago is true today! I want to learn as much as possible before I meet God face to face! Will I know everything about God? Never! I know enough that he loves you and me! The more you understand God the humbler you become! My desire is to share with you what God has revealed to me through his Word! To give you the tools to help you long after I leave this earth! You will meet resistance from Satan as you take the Gospel unto the whole world! Both internal and external! But God will be in you to overcome the world with the Truth! The old saying is if you want to learn something teach it! I am not trying to sell any books about the Bible but the Bible! There are wonderful books about Theology spanning over hundreds and thousands of years! There is more material than you will ever live long enough to read! What is most important to you is not what I am telling you but what God is telling you through his Word! Not second hand information but what God is telling you! This is why a continuing Bible Study is important to you! A daily study! The Bible is your best offense and your best defense against the lies and deceptions of Satan! For your study I am suggesting to you to have a Hebrew-Greek Study Bible with the key Hebrew and Greek translated words to English underlined with the Strong’s Numbers! Why is this important? Because translators use one English word that best describes the Hebrew or Greek root word! You can trust your Bible but what I am saying is if you go back to the original language and are not limited to one word greater understanding prevails! I will give you two sources that will help you because they have helped me over the years. Try to get the “The Hebrew-Greek Key Study Bible by Spiros Zodhiates.” I would suggest to you the King James Version! I purchased mine on E-Bay for eleven dollars with free shipping. It was used but not one mark in the Bible? Sat on a shelf somewhere for 35 years! The other resource is the: “The Exhaustive Concordance of the Bible.” This book shows every word of the text of the common English version of the Canonical Books in regular order together with dictionaries of the Hebrew and Greek words of the original, with references to the English words by James Strong. Zechariah 9:9 “Rejoice greatly, O daughter of Zion; shout, O daughter of Jerusalem: behold thy King cometh unto thee; he is just, and having Salvation: lowly, and riding upon an ass, and upon a colt the foal of an ass.” Comment: Yes! Zachariah lived 5 centuries before our Messiah’s arrival yet he saw him coming! He saw Christ as many other prophet’s did with great detail hundreds of years before this event! Yet 2000+ years after Bethlehem many do not see him? The alternative to a wise man is a fool! There are no fools in Heaven! The fool has said in his heart there is no God! Many still deny God! Why? Pride! There are millions of little gods running around on planet earth trying to be God! The WANNABE’S of Hell! If you try to replace God you displace yourself away from God separated forever! You forfeit your place in Heaven! Two King’s are present at Christmas! King Herod and Jesus our King! The Kingdom of darkness and the Kingdom of light! No star is following us around! Wake Up Dummy! Luke 1:20
“And behold, thou shalt be dumb, and not able to speak, until the day these things shall be performed because thou does not have faith, trust and confidence in my spoken words expressing intelligence which shall be fulfilled in this season and time of opportunity.” Comment: Zechariah was a Priest in the Jewish Temple. His wife Elizabeth was also a Godly woman! If anyone had opportunity to be close to God it would be this couple! This was evidenced by Gabriel speaking to them directly! Zechariah being a Priest had a great knowledge of the scriptures just like you may today. They were getting up in age and probably though God could not use them anymore! When the Angel Gabriel presented Zachariah with the spoken word of God he flinched! He did not believe the words! As a young man I attended Church but did not really believe the word of God! How do you know? Because I would not speak the word of God! I read it and heard it but would not speak it! Like a mute! When the written word was spoken back to Zechariah he did not believe it! The day I believed the written word of God was the day I responded to the spoken word of God! After I got saved I began to speak the Word of God to others who did not believe! Sin is all about not believing the Word of God! You remember Satan’s words to Eve in the Garden of Eden? Surely God has not said you will die if you eat of the fruit of this tree! The Pharisees had a great knowledge of the scriptures but did not believe them when Jesus spoke them to them? When I was a young man on my death bed Jesus came into my room that night and spoke three words to me! “God loves you!” When I believed those three words everything changed! From death to life! From darkness to light! I was raised from the dead! So was Zacharias and Elizabeth for they were long past having a son! John the Baptist became an important part of Jesus ministry! Your season of Salvation will come once in your life! After I got saved I could not stop telling people about Jesus! The Angel Gabriel was telling Zacharias since you do not believe God at his word then you are not going to be able to speak for a season! Hearing is the prerequisite for speaking! If you do not share your faith with others then you really have no faith! Faith that is not spoken is faith that is not believed! There are no Happy Holidays without Christ! Merry Christmas! As a Man Thinketh! Proverbs 23:7
An experiment was conducted with dozens of patients who needed knee surgery! With the permission of the families they did some fake surgeries on patients along with real surgeries on patients suffering from knee pain! The fake surgery patients were put under unconsciousness just as the real surgeries were done. The doctors even made superficial cuts on their knee’s as would be done in a real surgery! After months of following their recovery the experiment revealed amazing results! Using X-ray and MRI studies they discovered the fake surgery patients were recovering as well as the real patient surgeries and even with some having better results than those that had the real surgeries! What was discovered was that all the patients expected to get better! Even the ones that did not have the real surgery expected to get better!
