“A silversmith named Demetrius, who made silver shrines of Artemis, brough in a lot of business for the craftsmen there. He called them together with the workers in related trades, and said; ‘You know my friends, that they receive a good income from the business and you see this fellow Paul has convinced and led astray large numbers of people here in Ephesus and in particularly the whole province of Asia. He says that gods made with hands are no gods at all.’ Commentary: Always follow the money! The Idol makers had no problem with Paul’s evangelism until their idol shop sales dropped due to all the Idol worshippers converting to Christ! Remember truth will always cost you something because the Prince of Truth gave his all on an ugly cruel Cross for you! Jesus said I am the truth! The opposite of truth are lies! A woman has a right to kill her baby in the womb? Truth or a lie? Life is the most important gift from God we have! All our laws crafted are for the purpose of protecting life! From the Ten Commandments to the speed limit sign on the block where you live! A culture that disrespects the laws will not continue on for very long because anarchy and a complete breakdown of law and order will follow! God gave us his law to protect us! When we could not follow the law God still did in sending his Son as the perfect sacrifice fulfilling the law paying the penalty of death for our transgressions! Then raising his Son up from death on the third day to conquer the last enemy of all men ever born and that is death itself! No one can raise you up from death except God himself! He has power over death that no mortal can ever achieve! Death is a hand made god! We did that all by ourselves! We achieved it against life itself and every provision for life God made for us! He created us in his image! In his likeness! However man chose to live unlike God! In opposition to him! Abortion is in opposition to life! What drives abortion is money! Take the money away and abortion would end today! Paul realized that he had to risk everything to save the Idol worshippers of Asia! Even if he had to give his life to save life! But it was a voluntary choice he made where no baby in the womb has a choice! We must choose life for that child until it reaches the age of accountability to make it’s own choices! Love Made Perfect! 1 John 4:17
“Herein is our love [made perfect], that we my have boldness in the day of [judgment] : because he is, so are we in this world.” Commentary: “Made perfect” in the Greek again means to finish or complete the work of Christ enabling him and qualifying him to discharge his duties as judge of all men! Did you know you are an enabler! You by your choice enable Christ to either convict you or forgive you of your sin! “Judgment” means to pass a sentence on all men separating them from heaven or hell depending on their decision about the judge! Judgment is a double edged sword because it produces two very different outcomes! God’s judgment through his Son will either save you or condemn you! Judgment is done by law! The penalty of death for our sin! As a Christian I can only have confidence on judgment day after my death because I have accepted the death of Jesus on the Cross for my sin! He took my judgment of death upon himself! He was sinless yet took my place on the gallows for my sin! The Father (sorry Nancy), has rendered all judgment unto the Son! Both the living and the dead! I would never want to fall into the hands of an angry God! But to reject Christ does just that! God’s anger was appeased by the sacrifice of his Son on the Cross for our sin! Now we as forgiven can forgive others! Do you want to take your future and eternity into your own hands? Jesus hands were nailed to a Cross for you! Are you a forgiven angel or a devil unforgiven? All depends on what you do with Christ! Reject him or accept him? Your choice! To reject the love of God establishes an eternity separated from him! Jesus on the Cross said not my will but thy will be done! He chose death for you in your place! He arose from the dead for you! Jesus will one day raise you from the dead! To either everlasting life or everlasting punishment! The only way you could reject his love is to believe the lie that he is not what he says he is! No Deposit! No Return! Acts 1:11
“Which also said, ye men of Galilee, why stand ye gazing up into heaven this same Jesus, which is taken up from you into heaven, shall so come in like manner as ye have seen him go into heaven.” Comment: Do you remember that old Walt Disney movie ‘No Deposit No Return’ produced back in 1976? Two rich kids found out their mother was not coming home for Christmas so she purchased them airline tickets to go stay with their grandfather. She was in Hong Kong working an executive business job and could not get off work! So the kids went to the airport trying to figure out how to get money to buy tickets to Hong Kong? At the airport they met two thieves who took them home to their hideout! When the kids explained to the crooks their problem they told them to demand a ransom to get the money! So the movie, ‘No Deposit No Return’ got its name! God made a deposit into the earth his creation to redeem us from our sin! He invested his only Son Jesus Christ to accomplish this! The deposit of his birth, death and resurrection purchased our freedom from eternal separation from God! Jesus will return one day soon to redeem his deposits he has put into us! The only way people can lose his deposits is to reject his deposits he has made for you! Then no redemption for those that do this! God has purchased your tickets to heaven! God is merciful but if you reject his mercy what is left for you? Then your own sin will condemn you rather than letting God take your sin upon himself! Christ will return for his own so why not be one of his own today! Only God is trustworthy no one else including yourself is! Do not trust in yourself with your eternity! Fast Forward Evolution!
Is discord going to show itself while we are still fighting, is the Jew once again worth less than another? Oh, it is sad, very sad, that once more, for the umpteenth time, the old truth is confirmed: “What one Christian does is his own responsibility, what one Jew does is thrown back at all the Jews.” Anne Frank Comment: What a wise little teenage girl! Hitler blamed the Russian Revolution on the Jews and it is true that Marx, Engels, Lenin and other founders were atheistic Jews! Hitler believed he could fast forward or speed up evolution by millions of years by getting rid of the undesirables which included everyone but the Germans! Do you see how racial selective evolution will lead you? One false doctrine lead to 60 million dead across Europe during WWII. Darwin is also responsible for the deaths of over 57 million babies here in the United States! Abortion! Yet I cannot condemn all Jews because of a few atheistic Jews promoted a ideology that has lead to the deaths of hundreds of millions of people! My savior is a Jew! The Anti-Christ will be a Jew! So this bright little Jewish girl sorted things out! What a difference had Hitler followed a Jew by the name of Jesus Christ! He could have become the greatest Evangelist for good the world had ever seen! Who we follow determines our outcome! Everyone will follow someone! Our Bible teaches Creation and that all people are created in the Image of God! We are all created equal before God! This is confirmed in our United States Constitution! Our Constitution is a Biblical document! When a false teaching enters the minds of men bad things happen! When men believe their is no God then they take things into their own hands! If men believe in a false God they again take matters into their own hands for a desired outcome! What new doctrine or old sin will men pursue in the 21st Century? Islam, socialism, racism, fascism, communism, Nazism and the Anti-Christ that lives in all these ideologies! Or will Christ come into the hearts of men causing them to live in peace with God and man? We know right now 1/3 of the earth is Christian. There are three major religions in the world. Their were 3 Crosses at Calvary but only one counted for the redemption of man! Even though a minority the Jews have played a major part in the redemption of man! Think about this! If the religious Jews would have accepted Jesus in the 1st century then their would not have been a crucified Christ! No redemption for man! God provided a Jewish Savior and the religious Jews made the sacrifice! If you fast forward evolution you come up with death! Fear or Faith? Isaiah 51:12
Hebrew Translation: “Even I, am he that has compassion on you. I have repented that I have made man and have changed my heart and attitude to console you. You can take a deep breath of relief. Why should you fear man when you have reverence for me? Man’s weakness of the flesh shall lead to his death. His descendants are made as the grass that will perish.” Comment: The fear of man is what leads to all wars! The fear of death is what leads men to cause the death of others! Religions are formed out of the fear of death! Islam is a prime example! Martyrdom they believe is their only way to God? So suicide is their means to salvation! Faith is just the opposite of fear! God has made the way for our salvation not by any effort of mortal men! The God/Man Christ God’s only Son provided the sacrifice for our redemption! It is not attained by my own efforts but by God’s grace! So my future is not dependent on me but on what God has already done for me! If we will rest in this promise peace will follow! Jesus has promised to those that trust in him he will raise from the dead! Not to cause death but to deliver us from it! Sin is our real enemy with death it’s consequence! To defeat our last enemy death is what God has done for us! If you cannot get excited about this truth then nothing will excite you! Made Whole! Luke 8:48-50
Jairus the Temple ruler had one daughter 12 years old who was very sick! Jairus had sent for Jesus but He got delayed when a crowd of sick people thronged Him! A woman in the crowd touched the hem of His garment and got healed! Jesus commended her for her faith! Jairus sent another message to Jesus telling Him not to come for his daughter is dead! You might call this a cold case! Jesus presented two conditions for restoration! Fear not and believe and you will be made whole! So what does the words made whole mean? Elementary Watson! The Greek root word used here is “Sozo.” It is the same word used for our English word “Salvation.” This word means a spiritual and eternal rescue granted immediately by God for those who believe in Christ! It is the current experience of God’s power to those who believe in Christ! It is God’s power to deliver us from sin and death! What death are we talking about here? It is the second death or eternal judgment made by Christ Himself! Remember Jairus daughter and Lazarus were raised from the dead but they died a physical death again! Lightening can strike twice! I was delivered from my death bed in 1973 and have served Christ for the past 44 years but I will experience another physical death! Remember what Paul said in 1 Corinthians 5:5? Remember the congregation member living with his father’s wife? Verse 5: “To deliver such a one to Satan for the destruction of the flesh, that the Spirit may be saved in the day of the Lord Jesus Christ.” Remember Physical death is Satan’s work not God’s work! Death is the result of sin! If Salvation was a rescue of our physical bodies here on earth then we would never die again while here on earth! At the resurrection we will receive glorified bodies that will never get sick or die! Remember at the Judgment seat of Christ some Christians will lose their rewards but not their Salvation! When some Christians get to Heaven will they be on probation? Jesus has gone to prepare a place for us! Jesus went back to Heaven to pray for us, send the Holy Spirit and prepare a place for us! He will come again! You cannot go there unless you have Salvation with a new body and a redeemed soul! He can provide that to you because of Calvary! The Easter message is about this hope we have in Him and His promises to those who accept Him as Savior! Our hope is in Him! Our past is in Him! Our present is in Him! Our future is in Him!
