What Did Jesus Mean Here? Revelation 1:8

“I am [Alpha] and [Omega], the [beginning] and the [ending], saith the Lord, which is, and was, and is to come, the [Almighty].” Commentary: Alpha is the first letter of the Greek alphabet. However not like our English word “A”, it means something all by itself! That is it can stand alone! Alpha means a private relationship with a sense of union! That is Jesus relationship to his Father and his union with the Trinity! Omega is the last letter in the Greek Alphabet! Like our English letter “Z”. Omega carries the connotation of a finality! What did Jesus mean by saying he is the “Beginning”? This word means the first to rule! He is the outer most point of the beginning! Jesus is the cause of creation! He is before all things and all things were created by him! Just a side note what was the ideology of the 19th Century that opposes Christ and his creation? The Charles Darwin Theory of Evolution which is alive and well in American education today! Doctrines of Devils! Jesus rules with power and authority! All earthly powers will ultimately fail! Jesus is the first to rule by the authority and creative powers of God himself! Jesus was crucified because he claimed to be God! Now let us look at the word “Ending”. This word does not mean the termination of time. Time is used and established by God to achieve his purpose and goals! It is the consummation of the war between good and evil with victory over death, hell and the grave through his Son Jesus Christ! So the ending is for the purposes of time not the termination of time! Our true purpose is only found in Christ! As our relationship to Christ as Jesus relationship to his Father! To the Trinity! Our human ending is consumed at death! Jesus will raise all from the dead! If our purpose while living is found in him then that relationship continues on after death forever! Jesus enemies though they could end his life at his death on the Cross! Not so! They learned he was more than human he was God! Time will confirm whether we are in Christ or not! Cry Babies? Revelation 1:7

“Behold, he cometh with clouds; and every eye shall see him, and all the kindreds of the earth shall wail because of him. Even so. Amen” Commentary: To “wail” according to the Greek is much more than being a cry baby! It means to beat your own breasts with your fists! Self-injury! This word expresses the strongest outward expression of inner grief! The people see Jesus coming at his second coming! They rejected his first coming and his second coming exposes their error! No celebration here! They refused to see him for who he is the only Son of God taking on their debt for sin upon a Cross and offering eternal life to them! They rejected his redemptive work for their sin so only his judgment is left for them! He took their judgment for their sin yet they rejected this gift and his pain and suffering for them on the Cross so now they have to take their own judgment! I would wail too! To reject Christ is to crucify him again! To join Judas and the religious and political leaders who plotted his death! Betrayal of Christ for any reason is deadly! Can you today see Jesus for who is is? The Son of God! Sacrificing himself for your sin yet he without sin! Your Savior! Who has power over death, hell and the grave! Demons fear him! Jesus will one day soon raise you from the dead! What will be your defense? You will either rejoice or wail! Jesus raises some to everlasting life and some to judgment! Which is it for you? Seven Churches Seven Spirits!

Revelation 1:4 “John to the seven churches which are in Asia: Grace unto you, and peace, from which is, and which was, and which is to come, and from the seven Spirits which are before his throne;” Commentary: We have done an earlier post on this scripture. If you go to the search box on our blog we made a post on October 23, 2018. Did you ever notice the scriptures never tire with age! He is the same yesterday, today and forever! Did you know God identifies you by the spirit living in you! He knows his own! Satan has a spirit! The spirit of Anti-Christ! The Holy Spirit is identified by seven spirits! Catholics believe their are seven spirits or gifts of the Holy Spirit and Protestants believe there are nine! Regardless the Holy Spirit will dwell in you only if he sees the Blood of Christ applied to your life! The Holy Spirit will not enter where he is not welcome! This is why the disciples asked new converts have you received the Holy Spirit? Jesus ascended back to the Father in heaven so he could send the Holy Spirit! After salvation through Christ you must ask for the Holy Spirit! He then will help you in your walk with Christ! He will warn you and protect you from the wicked one! The Anti-Christ is recognized by a foul spirits apart from God! He hates the Blood of Christ! He hates Christians! He works through political powers of principalities of darkness to fight Christ and his follower here on earth! Christ came to save the world! Satan to destroy it! To neutralize salvation of men living on the earth! To steal their heaven and give them a hell! To reject Christ brings war, violence, riots, plagues, abortion, death, drugs, homosexuality, transgenderism, wokeness, open borders, anti-law enforcement, crime, with invasion of liberty, justice, freedom and law and order! Have you received the Holy Spirit? We never so much as heard of the Holy Spirit? Read Genesis 1:2 “For the Holy Spirit moved upon the face of the waters.” He was active in the creation of this world!
