A Plagueless Life!
Revelation 22:18-19 “For I testify unto every man that heareth the words of this prophecy of this book, If any man shall add unto these thing’s, God shall add unto him the plagues that are written in this book: And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and from the things written in this book.” Comment: Since we are in the middle of a plague I thought it appropriate that we talk about the last chapter of the last Book of our Bible! People claim that the first and last chapter of any book are the most important! So what is God saying to us in these two scriptures out of the Book of Revelation? What revelation can we get? Let me make it simple for us! To reject Jesus Christ will execute the judgments of these scriptures! Any ideology to replace Christ or reject him bringing an addition or subtraction of Christ is lethal! You hear all the ideologies opposing Christ today and over history! Christ is not the only way to heaven! There is no God! We evolved! Jesus Christ did not exist! I will be God and make my own gods! God did not create me I believe in Darwinism! I will decide who lives and dies! Abortion! God is who you make him to be in your mind! Hinduism! We create God! I reject that Christ died for me so I will die for God by martyrdom! Islam! I will be greater than God! I will be God! I will die for him! You have to work your way to heaven by good works! My salvation is based on my works! The list goes on and on into infinity! I believe in reincarnation! I will come back again over and over so I will never have to face the judgment of God for my sin and never have to accept his salvation! Easter ia about God reconciling our sin to himself his way! By the way of the Cross! His plan for our redemption completed at the Cross! The blood of God shed for our sin! The source of plague is sin! When Jesus died on the Cross the dead rose from the grave! The worst part of verse 19 is to have your name blotted out of the Book of Life! Separated from God forever! Every name is written in the Book of Life because Christ died for all! He arose from the dead for all! So what would cause your name to be blotted out? Rejecting Christ with any ideology that supports your rejection of him! Whatever excuse you can make to seal your fate! Satan tricked Eve into thinking God is no good! He does the same today as he deceives the world so they may join him in Hell! Reject Christ then your Savior becomes your judge! Jesus Christ is optional only to a fool! A fool has said in his heart there is no God! Instead of mocking and cursing God why not praise him? Use the breath he has given you to honor him! Praise him for the suffering he took for you and your sin on the Cross! It is a Holy Cross because he has made you Holy! He has prepared a place for you in Heaven free from suffering, death, hell and the grave! No more plagues! He took your curse on the Cross! God is not the author of plague but Satan is! His objective is to destroy you! God to save you! Who have you chosen to follow? Do not discount your life and follow the destroyer of all life for God has paid a great price to redeem you! The protection of Christ is your reward! Jesus name is above every name in heaven and earth! That is why he holds the Book of Life! Is your name there? John 3:16 says for God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten Son! For what? That whoever believes on him shall not perish! No plague! And then have everlasting life! What part of forever do you not get? I cannot think of a better way or time to accept Jesus Christ than in the midst of a plague! The plague will pass but his name endures forever! Living Life Together!
We were married on March 3, 1973 at Calvary Temple in Denver Colorado. Starting life out together is exciting! Finishing life together is more challenging! In 1973 through 1975 there was an economic recession across America! I was laid off my job and my wife was then laid off her job! We went to the unemployment office together along with millions of Americans! However we together were excited because we were together! Together 47 years later we are still sharing life together! Seeing each day as an opportunity to serve each other together with Christ! We will serve each other until Christ calls us home! Serve him in heaven as we have here on earth! There is an ever greater excitement about heaven because we the church are his bride waiting for the marriage supper of the Lamb! Being together with Christ serving him where ever he leads us! To hear his voice and obey his Word! A 3 stranded cord is not easily broken! My wife Hamsa and I with Christ are wound together as one strong to carry out his will and purpose here on earth! We are saved by his Word! We are raised by his Word! We are judged by his Word! We live by his Word! The cord of unity stands the test of time! His Word stands forever! Time reveals the truth of God’s Word! If we build our life on any other foundation we will perish! But Christ all else is sinking sand! God has been faithful to us with his promises to us! Book of Life! Revelation 13:8
“And all that dwell upon the earth shall worship him, whose names defined by their character are not written in the Book of Life of the male lamb slain from the foundation of the world set in order by God.” Comment: Your name has an address! Just one of two possible residences! Heaven or Hell? Everyone is going to worship someone! It is our God given nature to worship! Satan has perverted this worship and tries to divert this worship to himself! He lies and creates fake news that God is no good and unworthy of worship! He told Jesus if you will just bow down and worship me I will give you all the Kingdoms of this world! Jesus rebuked the tempter with scriptures! It is written… We must do the same when confronting Satan! Who we worship determines our destiny! Your Bible will reveal to you who God is and who Satan is! You will be given the ability to discern them! God’s love is revealed and Satan’s evil is revealed! Once you discern who God is he will enable you to go on the offensive against Satan! You will be able to discern the anti-Christ spirit in popular culture and the false ideologies of men! Whether your name is written down in the Book of Life is determined by what you do with God’s Book down here on earth! The Bible! Believe it in faith or reject it in rebellion? To worship the one who loves you and has saved you is wise! To worship the one who wants to destroy you is suicide! Do not be a Judas! Satan deceives the world through pride! Pride goes before the fall. Pride leads one to exalt oneself over God! Pride leads to trusting self over God! We can do all things through Christ who strengthens us! Salvation does not come by going around Christ but by going through him! Sometimes we can trust the gifts rather than the giver of the gifts! Success can separate us from God! The rich young ruler! Where I failed is where I came back to God! Does God want us to fail? No! When my parents wanted me to do my homework I told them I was too smart to study! I know more than the teachers! The road to failure is pride! I do not need God! I can make it on my own! Then when I got failing grades i blamed the teacher! That is what we do with God! We blame God when Satan is the source of our failure! When God blesses us we sometimes take the credit upon ourselves and steal his glory! Satan always tries to blame God for his evil! That is what the Cross is about! Our outcome is determined by what we do with Jesus Christ! Is he just a curse word to you? Your eternity is determined by who you worship! It is your choice! A choice is always determined between two! Two Kingdoms! Two destinies! Good or evil! Heaven or Hell! Christ or the Anti-Christ! We have today but what about tomorrow? Life on Mars?
The NASA rover has detected small traces of methane gas on planet Mars! We hope that a mouse did not catch a ride to Mars from earth? What they now believe is Alexander Ocasio-Cortez promoter of the Green New Deal is actually from Mars and she used to run a dairy herd on Mars while she was living there!
Life After Death?
How do we know? The atheist asks the Christian do you know anyone who has come back from death? The Christian asks the atheist do you know anyone who has come back as evidence for your faith there is no God? We have Christ himself who was raised from the dead! He raised other people from the dead! In fact if there was no life after death God would not have wasted his only Son Jesus Christ to die for our sin to prepare us for the life after death! Easter is the best illustration God has given us to demonstrate his love for us preparing us not only for a life of peace trusting him today here on earth but experience his love for us as he has prepared a place for us in Heaven to live with him forever!
