Jairus the Temple ruler had one daughter 12 years old who was very sick! Jairus had sent for Jesus but He got delayed when a crowd of sick people thronged Him! A woman in the crowd touched the hem of His garment and got healed! Jesus commended her for her faith! Jairus sent another message to Jesus telling Him not to come for his daughter is dead! You might call this a cold case! Jesus presented two conditions for restoration! Fear not and believe and you will be made whole! So what does the words made whole mean? Elementary Watson! The Greek root word used here is “Sozo.” It is the same word used for our English word “Salvation.” This word means a spiritual and eternal rescue granted immediately by God for those who believe in Christ! It is the current experience of God’s power to those who believe in Christ! It is God’s power to deliver us from sin and death! What death are we talking about here? It is the second death or eternal judgment made by Christ Himself! Remember Jairus daughter and Lazarus were raised from the dead but they died a physical death again! Lightening can strike twice! I was delivered from my death bed in 1973 and have served Christ for the past 44 years but I will experience another physical death! Remember what Paul said in 1 Corinthians 5:5? Remember the congregation member living with his father’s wife? Verse 5: “To deliver such a one to Satan for the destruction of the flesh, that the Spirit may be saved in the day of the Lord Jesus Christ.” Remember Physical death is Satan’s work not God’s work! Death is the result of sin! If Salvation was a rescue of our physical bodies here on earth then we would never die again while here on earth! At the resurrection we will receive glorified bodies that will never get sick or die! Remember at the Judgment seat of Christ some Christians will lose their rewards but not their Salvation! When some Christians get to Heaven will they be on probation? Jesus has gone to prepare a place for us! Jesus went back to Heaven to pray for us, send the Holy Spirit and prepare a place for us! He will come again! You cannot go there unless you have Salvation with a new body and a redeemed soul! He can provide that to you because of Calvary! The Easter message is about this hope we have in Him and His promises to those who accept Him as Savior! Our hope is in Him! Our past is in Him! Our present is in Him! Our future is in Him! We try to hang on to life even though it is slipping away! I was young and now I am old! Some of my friends went to the Vietnam War and at the age of 18 never came back? Our health declines and we are dying everyday! Your physical body will exodus out of you one day! No one escapes! No mortal can restore your sin infested soul or raise from the dead except Jesus Christ! So He must be more important than your life! Jesus disciples were sawed in two, hung on Crosses upside down, fed to lions and other forms of torture! John was boiled in oil yet survived and was exiled to an island where he wrote the Book of Revelation! Your life will fail you but His life will raise you from the dead! Remember Jesus will raise everyone from the dead some to everlasting life and some to judgment! Who else can you trust? Will you trust mortal man? I would rather trust the immortal Christ maker of Heaven and earth than one of His created mortals! Jesus will one day create a New Heaven and a New earth! Would you like to be part of that? Jesus will never leave you nor forsake you and it is not too late to trust Him now! Get on your knees right now and confess your sin to Him and receive His forgiveness! Church! Make America Great Again!
The millennial generation sometimes know as the Y generation is made up of people between the age group of 22-35 years old. The Great Recession has hit this generation the hardest! Not only do they suffer from high unemployment rates they have abandoned the church! According to the Barna Group and other studies only 2 in 10 attend church services! 59 percent of millennials who were raised in church have dropped out! 35 percent of millennials have an anti-church stance believing the church does more harm than good? Millennials are the least talked about age group in church! Can you sense the hopelessness here? If the church is going to help make America great again we have to catch this generation! If not the church in America is just one generation from extinction! There are some underlying possible reasons for the exodus! The baby boomer generation neglected their kids while pursuing the American dream! The teaching by secular public funded schools promoting evolution and other atheist doctrines! They feel abandoned by the low economic status and abandoned by the culture! We have to restore hope to this generation and the first step of the church of Jesus Christ is to identify the problem and then to do something about it! Perhaps our mission programs need to also make America first and focus on this generation as they feel like foreigners in a strange land! Either the relationship that was established with Jesus Christ while living here on earth or the relationship with Satan that was established here while living on earth! Both relationships carry on into eternity one to Heaven and one to Hell. A rejection of Jesus Christ puts one’s soul into a default mode to Hell. That is why it is so important to reach people with the Gospel to give them an opportunity to make the right choice! Not all will make the right choice but they need the opportunity to do so! Idols! 1 Chronicles 16:26
Hebrew translation: “For all the gods of the people are as shepherds over worthless things! They are as physicians attending corpses! Good for nothing! Vanity! No purpose! But the Lord built the heavens with purpose!” Comment: So what are you a shepherd over in your life? Is in something of eternal value? Will it continue on after you leave the earth? If you cannot take it with you it is an idol. Will the family you leave on earth shepherd over things of value? Anything of eternal value will outlast you! God built the heavens with you as the purpose in mind! Are you supporting His purpose? Your purpose is to mirror His Image! We were not created in our own image but the image of God! God’s purpose from before the beginning was to deliver us from evil. That is why Christ pre-existed creation! Sin will always lead us to worship idols! Why? We would rather trust in ourselves than the work of God! When i came to Christ back in 1973 everything changed! It was no longer about me but about Christ and others! He did for me what i could not do for myself! Deliver me from evil! That is Grace! Men try to build empires, organizations and name them after themselves! Until we find the name and Savior that is above every name we will serve idols! Jesus has promised to raise you from the dead one day! After you are gone from the earth you cannot raise your idols! God Renders Legal Decision! 1 Chronicles 15:13
“For because you did it not at the first, the Lord our God made a breach upon us, for we sought Him not after the due order.” Two Hebrew words stand out in this scripture written thousands of years ago! The word “first”, head or first in rank. The words “due order”, means a legal decision given by God to be followed by the people! What is really interesting is the Hebrew word is another Hebrew root word for the word “due order.” The Strong’s Number is 8199. Here is the Hebrew definition of the word; “this word encompasses all the facets of government including executive, legislative and judicial branches of government.” This sounds like our United States Constitution! Most Americans do not get the connection between our Bible and the Constitution! Our Constitution is a Biblical document! Remember the Jewish Temple and the Mount was the seat of all religious and government rule to the Jewish culture! Law cases were tried there! Laws were written there! Executive actions to enforce the law were done from there! Just as our God is a Trinity so is our government with three branches! The pattern for our Constitution was implemented after the Bible to give people liberty and Justice for all. The question that begs to be asked is why did God have to render a legal decision? We have broken His laws through sin! God’s legal decision to punish sin was accomplished by His Son on Calvary! God has given His Son Jesus Christ the responsibility to judge the living and the dead! What Should Be Our Message? 1 Corinthians 13:13
Our message should be around faith, hope and love! The Gospel means the good news! Read this translation of 1 Corinthians 13:13. “And now dwells and maintains truthfulness in God with confidence and expectation with the love of God towards Christians, but the greatest of these is the love of God towards us!” Comment: Notice here that our confidence is not in human love for others by men but God’s love towards us! Human love will always fail but Christ’s love will never leave us nor forsake us! Remember Jesus words on the Cross? Why have you forsaken me? These words validate that Jesus as well as being God was also flesh! These are the words of flesh! Then God said, “Not my will but thy will be done!” God’s will for us is eternal so do not let the flesh try to steal your purpose in God! The flesh and the spirit war against each other! What do the super bowl team owners have in common? Arthur Blank and Robert Kraft are both Jews! Even though the Book of Deuteronomy was written thousands of years ago the Words of the Bible still hold true! God promised His people that if they would keep His Commandments He would make them the head and not the tail. Christopher Columbus was a Jew! Do you see the word “Christ”, in the name Christopher? Jeremiah and America!
Jeremiah’s ministry extended from 627-586 B.C. Jerusalem was taken into captivity in 586 B.C. by Babylon! His message was one of judgment upon Judah for it’s shameful sins! He also encouraged the people to submit to Babylon to prevent further bloodshed! He was not popular among the political rulers and his life was in constant jeopardy! He was known as the weeping prophet! Jeremiah also had a hopeful message! The return from captivity, the New Covenant and the Messiah coming to Jerusalem! Jeremiah was a type of Christ! He was accused of political treason, tried, persecuted and imprisoned for their prophetic words! Jeremiah and Christ both wept over and predicted the destruction of the Temple in Jerusalem! Both were rejected by their own people! Do we have any prophets in America who have been persecuted for their words of warning to the American people? Many of our religious leaders have been attacked by Obama and our government over the past 8 years! Obama ordered IRS tax audits on Franklin Graham and others as a weapon to go after them! However there is one that went to prison! He was the president of a Bible College! He created two movies on Obama and Hillary Clinton and exposed their anti-Christian agenda! Obama wanted to put him in prison for at least 20 years by federal prosecutors but a kind judge gave him 9 months! This man did not care about his 501c tax exemption! He cared about America! Obama gave him a lemon and he made lemon juice out of it! He made over 40 million dollars on his movies and helped to defeat Obama and the Hillary agenda! His name is Dinesh D’Souza.
