“And there was another horse that was red: and power was given to him that sat thereon to take peace from the earth, and that they should kill one another; and there was given unto him a great sword.” Commentary: There are some things Jesus said in Matthew Chapter 10 that are quite sobering! He said you would be hated by all men because of me! Endure until the end and be saved! He said they will persecute you because of me! I did not come to bring peace! Did you know the political divisions today in American culture are because of Christ! Christians vote Republican and atheists or Darwinists vote Democrat! Orthodox Jews which make up 50 percent of the American Jewish population vote Republican and the other half of the Jews atheists or Darwinists vote Democrat! When you side with Christ you will be persecuted! If you do not side with Christ you will be the persecutor! We and some believe the seven seal judgments happen here following the Rapture of the Church during the seven year tribulation period climaxed by the second coming of Christ. In world history we have always experienced these troubles listed in Revelation Chapter six! Christ brings peace to those who accept him as Savior! Peace between God and man! Salvation! However at the same time those that reject Christ will hate you for loving God! Hate and love have always existed together since the beginning of time because the war is really between God and Satan! You cannot have one without the other! Love and hate! Two different sources! Jesus said I did not come to bring peace but division! War has always existed and so has peace! God brought peace between himself and man through his Son Jesus Christ! Sacrificing his Son for our sin! The judgment listed here in Chapter six is a war against those who war against Christ and his followers! Satan loves war, hate, sickness, death and disease because he has authored them! God came through his Son to redeem the men who have received him and rejected the ideologies of death! God has saved men from their own destruction! Those that reject Christ war against God and continue the ways of Satan! Here in Chapter six God wars against those that war against his Christ! Satan wars against those that follow his Christ! So even war itself can be good or bad depending on who is authoring it and for what purpose? Is it to take peace from the earth to destroy Satan who wars against all men and their God to destroy God’s creation? All have to make the decision who they will follow! “And I saw, behold a white horse; and he that sat on him had a bow: and a crown was given him: and went forth conquering, and to conquer.” Commentary: Great conquerors like Napoleon rode white horses a symbol of victory! The works of Satan through war, plagues, famines and death would try to thwart this victory! To thwart a Christian victory! Ideologies would come to men opposed to Christ! Darwinism, socialism, communism, despotic dictators denying the freedoms found in Christ! Political systems denying creation substituting atheism for the God of heaven and earth! Christ with his bow and arrows would overcome all the works of the enemy bringing salvation to men! He proves more than a conqueror where none can stand against him! He is God! Salvation or Judgment?
Luke 1:52 Greek Translation “He (Jesus), hath put down and overthrown and demolished with violence the mighty powerful authorities of rulers of territories from their seats and exalted them of low degree.” Comment: Wow! I thought Jesus was this milk toast guy everyone could push around? When you study scriptures you discover that Jesus like a coin has two sides! He is a lamb but also a lion! Salvation and judgment! Sometimes you see the lamb side and sometimes the lion! Jesus told King Herod he was a fox! He overthrew the money changers tables in the Temple! He told the Jewish religious leaders not one stone of their Temple would stand! Jesus said the Kingdom of God is within you! Jesus raised the dead! Violence over death! He slew death! Love and judgment go together! You cannot have one without the other! He rebuked his disciples yet showed them by example how to live! He predicted Peter would deny him yet after his resurrection he found Peter along the sea shore back to fishing. However that was the last denial Peter ever made of Jesus and was crucified in Rome! I shared in an earlier post of how in detail all the political leaders who plotted Jesus death ended up! King Herod, Pilot, Judas and the high priest! They all came to a bad end! They were all put down! They rejected Jesus! Yet Jesus disciples were elevated to high positions within the church! We read their writings in the New Testament! Do you feel you are a nobody? Then you are ready for a promotion! My very first sermon I ever preached from a pulpit was in front of two million people in a church in Seoul South Korea in 1983! If we exalt God he will exalt us! This is the Kingdom principle! When you promote God he will promote you! No one can take this away from you! This event is eternal! Jesus is going to return to earth during the Tribulation period a seven year period where the one world government (socialism) will be led by the Anti-Christ! This will be the last great battle on earth called Armageddon! Jesus will return with his saints to defeat Satan and his followers just before the Millennium reign of Christ! Satan will be bound for a thousand years! Are you a soldier of the Cross or milk toast? Are you a traitor or a warrior! We conquer in his name! Start your crusade by resisting evil here on earth! This will be your only chance! Resist the Devil and he will flee from you! President Trump is the first president in my life time (70 years), who has promoted Christianity! Openly promoted! He is a warrior! The last leader we had like this was Abraham Lincoln! We have an opportunity to promote the Gospel to this dying culture! Judgment Withheld! Revelation 7:3
Hold judgment until the servants of God are sealed in their foreheads! First of all what is a servant? By definition it is one who is in the permanent will of another! Jesus said not my will but thy will be done! A slave is committed in the will of another! A even deeper meaning in the Greek means to be bound or tied with a chain or a cord! Like the Trinity a three stranded cord is not easily broken! So the will of the master becomes the will of the slave! They look alike and act alike! You cannot tell the difference between them! My will must never be in the way of God’s will! I should only be committed to the will of my Father! Like a skydiver for once I jump out of the aircraft I am committed to whatever outcome comes! No turning back! No regrets! My past is behind me! If I forgot my parachute I look for a haystack! I look ahead not behind! Jesus is looking for these kind of servants in the earth! Not those that say I will serve you if it is convenient or profitable! If it benefits my career! As long as I can keep my old friends and be popular with the world! I will serve you if you can do something for me! Do not ask me to sacrifice for you and others! If my excuses invalidate me it is time for a change! By definition of a servant are you a servant of Jesus? This day will never pass by you again! It will be lost forever! You will never see this day again! The thief on the Cross saw his error and repented on his last day on earth! The other thief rejected Christ and mocked him! Which thief are you? The thieves did not chose the Cross and were guilty! Judgment Begins When? Revelation Chapter 6
Comment: Well you say from first Peter it says judgment begins at the House of God! That judgment is the persecution against the church by the world! That is the judgment by the world against the children of God! The Judgement in Revelation chapter six is the judgment of God against those that have rejected Christ and his church! It is called the Day of the Lord! It is also called the Judgment of Christ! The day of this event something else also happens! We have the Rapture of the Church caught up from the earth and the same day we have the seven seals opened by Christ to judge the earth in rejection of him! This day will mark the beginning of the seven year Tribulation period on earth involving the conflict between Christ and the Anti-Christ, the False Prophet and their followers! This Tribulation period is concluded with Christ returning to earth at his second coming with the Saints from Heaven! To set up the 1000 year rule and reign sometimes known as the Millennium Kingdom! Notice in verse 16 the wicked of the earth cry out and say who shall escape the wrath of the Lamb? The sacrificial Lamb of our Salvation has returned to earth as a Lion of Judgment with his second coming! We will also have Jews and Gentiles saved during this tribulation period but they will be martyred for their faith and some are today martyred in the earth! Billions have people in the earth have lived and died but those that trusted Christ have Salvation and are Heaven right now! Those believers in Christ will return to earth following him at his second coming or at the end of the Tribulation period! So we as believers follow Christ while here on earth and in Heaven after we go there and will return to earth with Christ at his second coming! Who are you following today? Before & After! Isaiah 11:2, Revelation 4:5
Isaiah has a picture of Heaven! He has a vision of our Messiah in Heaven hundreds of years before his incarnation to earth at Bethlehem! The six spirits of God are resting on Christ making the number seven a sign of completion! Revelation chapter four is the same picture in Heaven of our Messiah except this is after his ascension from earth back to Heaven! However in verse 5 we see thunder and lightning which represents judgment! Christ here in Revelation is preparing for his second coming back to earth to judge the living and the dead! His first coming was as a lamb or sacrifice but his second coming he is the judge of all. Judgment to those that have rejected his sacrifice for their sin! Jesus first coming was as a lamb but at his second coming as a lion! The Holy Spirit is the active agent in Heaven and on earth! A crucial part of the Trinity! The Holy Spirit came upon Mary to impregnate her with our Messiah! When Jesus was baptized by John in the Jordan River the Holy Spirit descended upon Jesus! This is why baptism is an important ordinance of the church! Then when Jesus ascended back to Heaven he promised to send his Holy Spirit to his church at Pentecost! Jesus role in Heaven was different before his incarnation! His role on earth was different! At his second coming his role will be different! Revelation 3:10 Greek Translation “Because thou has kept my spoken word of my patience with endurance towards people not surrendering to circumstances, I also will keep you from the time and season of Satan trying to test you to fall, which shall come to the inhabitants of the earth trying and testing them to fail.” Comment: Volumes could be written on this one verse! In fact the Book of Revelation is a compilation of all scriptures in both the Old and New Testaments put together! Remember the Word of God as recorded in your Bible was first spoken before it was written down! Remember his spoken word created this world! The power of God comes from taking his written word and then speaking it! That is why in our Constitution so much value was placed on free speech! Satan will always work through any culture to suppress free speech! Political correctness in our culture is one example! It is designed to suppress free speech! Don’t wear your religion on your sleeve! In other words shut up! Do not take Jesus to the public places! Keep him in your own little corner in church on Sunday! Jesus said to go out into all the world and preach the Gospel! There will always be an effort by Satan to silence the truth! To silence you! Notice what speaking the words of Jesus did for the Church at Philadelphia! It brought them endurance and patience towards people not surrendering to circumstances! Jesus said to them that since you have spoken the Word of God I will keep you from the wicked one Satan who wants to test you and cause you to fall! I will protect you from the second death or denial of me because you have chosen me! A rapture will come to everyone! Some to everlasting life and some to everlasting judgment! The coming future event of the rapture of his church from the earth will protect us from the seven year tribulation period led by the Anti-Christ! The greatest destruction in all the earth will happen during this period in history before Christ’s second coming! If you will confess the spoken word of God Jesus will come to you! He will rescue you! What will the tribulation prove? That Satan is real and evil! That God is true and righteous! That God’s word is accurate and the prophecies are true! That Salvation and judgment are a reality! That if you confess the Word of God with your mouth redemption and power will follow you all the days of your life! With your mouth you will either confess your way to Heaven or confess your way to Hell! Your confession is your destiny! Power in the Name! (Continued)
Revelation 3:1-6 Comment: Sardis was the richest city in the area of Asia Minor! A major trade route, gold found in it’s river and the Sardis precious stones mined in the region! A beautiful climate with no threats to the residents and protected by the Roman Empire! The Sardis gem is a blood red colored stone. Remember the High Priest breastplate contained 12 stones each representing the 12 tribes of Israel. The Sardis stone represented the tribe of Benjamin the youngest son of Jacob. It is one of the stones in one of the twelve gates in the walls around the temple in Heaven. The city had an interesting history! Conquered by the Greeks, Persians and the Romans and was leveled by a great earthquake! The affluence of the city brought an attitude among the Christian’s there that they did not really need God! We can make it own our own! Jesus told them they had defiled their garments! Jesus told them they must overcome or their names would be blotted out of the Book of Life! Jesus said if they overcome their condition he would confess their names to the Father! The red Sardis stone should have reminded them of Christ’s blood! The blood moon we saw in the sky last night should have reminded us of his blood! The red color in the rainbow in the sky reminds us of his blood! The Apostle John in Chapter 4 had a vision of Heaven and he saw a rainbow around the Throne of God! Christ’s blood should remind us of two things! Salvation and judgment! It is two sides of the same coin! Salvation or redemption means nothing without judgment! You will have judgment only with out Salvation but you cannot have salvation without judgment! Christ took our judgment upon himself at the Cross! The rejection of Salvation is serious because if you reject the Savior then you take your own judgment and separation from God forever! That is why the only unpardonable sin is to reject Jesus Christ! If you reject Christ as many did at the Church at Sardis then he Christ becomes your judge! Christ’s blood is the blood of God himself made as the only sacrifice for sin! It is costly! I as a mortal might give my life for a friend or my nation but for the whole world? They do not deserve it! Neither do I! By Grace you are saved not of yourselves! Most of the members in the Sardis church fell in love with the world! They were like the fly in the spider’s net! They looked like a Christian but they were dead and hollow inside! The life of Christ had been sucked out of them by the cares of this life! None of us want the form of Godliness but to deny his power! The church was deceived into believing the world could offer them more than Christ! Decisions! Decisions! Decisions!
President Trump got it right! Chief Justice Roberts got it wrong! We do have liberal and conservative judges in all courts across America! This includes federal, state and municipal courts! We do have Democratic and Republican judges across America! From the Supreme court on down to the lowest court in America! Every man and woman on the court interprets the law according to their belief about where the law came from? Did the law come from God down to man or did man evolve just making up laws as we went along? Was the law given to us by God sovereign over man indisputable never to be changed? Or did man just create his own laws through the chain of evolutionary development? Bottom line is conservative judges are creationists! They take serious the Biblical model of creation and God’s laws given to man! Liberal judges are evolutionists or atheists believing God has no role in the creation and development of man! God is not sovereign over his creation so we make up our own rules! The best evidence of liberal and conservative judges is the split decisions on the Supreme court and the lower courts! If all are equal under the law then all court decisions would have the same outcome! They do not! Very rare! Man interprets the law based on the presumption of where the law came from! If the law did not come from God then I must make the law! I must legislate the law since there is no God! Liberals do not recognize the sovereignty of God! This is why they end up working against God! Gay marriage is one example! Since there is no God we can make laws contrary to God’s laws! What happens when we go down this road is we end up with a lawless culture! No respect for authority! Kill cops! Smoke drugs! Open borders and sanctuary cities! Divorce! Open borders and sanctuary cities are a rebellion against God’s sovereignty and National sovereignty! It is the new way of ceding from the union as in the civil war! What are some of the characteristics coming soon in the Tribulation period of seven years headed by the Anti-Christ? No borders! One world government! No laws! Total anarchy! No judges! Every man will do what is right in his own eyes! When Jesus returns at the end of the 7 year tribulation period what will he do? He will judge the nations in righteousness! Judge Kavanaugh was assassinated by the political left because they know if he gets in God may still be recognized as the giver of our laws and sovereign over the universe! Who Are They? Revelation 2:6
Who are the Nicolaitians? The word in the Greek means the conqueror of the people! Specifically in the Church of God! They are only referred to twice in the Book of Revelation. Both the church at Ephesus and the Church at Pergamos had the same problem! (Verse 2:15). The Nicolaitians were Bishops and prelates of the church gaining a triumphal victory over the laity! This is the very sin that brought forth the Reformation! It is mostly responsible for all our denominational and non-denominational churches around the world! The Nicolaitians compelled and forced church members to submit to the arbitrary dominion of men who have become the ones which the eternal hates! The Apostle Peter warned us that those who are leaders among God’s people must not dominate the faith of others but rather exhort them to do right! (1 Peter 5:1-3). The Nicolaitians are people in the church who have established a hierarchy of power and dominion under a government of ecclesiastical rulers! Comment: Yes! God hates these folks! Correction is very different from condemnation! We take the word disciple from the word discipline. Jesus used the techniques of correction and commendation very effectively! We as parents either tend to over correct and under commend or over commend and under correct! Everything I do cannot be right and everything I do cannot be wrong! That is why I need a Savior! My experience in ministry over the past 45 years has shown me people do not like to submit to authority! This is the nature of Satan! Most people will submit to authority if commended and corrected in love! However some will never! Hell is reserved for these folks! Why will some never submit? Because they want to replace God! This explains why the world is a war! War on God! Jesus asked the churches at Ephesus and Pergamos to repent! Sunday our Pastor Oscar Cope made an important point to us in his sermon!
