God & Satan & Politics!
So what are the characteristics of Satan? By definition he is the one who divides people by false accusations without reason except that he is evil! He accused God in paradise with false claims about his character! Satan tries to assassinate character in God and humans! Remember Job? Today he accuses followers of Christ! Watch our current Supreme Court nominee come under attack for her faith! Your dogma speaks loudly! We make our own gods here in this chamber! We do not want truth dragged in front of us! It would condemn us! They will mock her and make false accusations against her! Satan is the author of divisions! That is why we have a heaven and a hell! That is why we have a Democrat and Republican Party! That is why we have BLM groups and white supremacy groups! This is why we have war! War on God and his Christ! War on life with death and abortion! War on family with divorce! War on work with welfare! War on prosperity with poverty! War on health with disease! War on peace! If there were no Satan all divisions would end! All sickness, disease and death would end! At Jesus second coming and during his millennium reign all divisions will cease for a thousand years! Why? Jesus will bind Satan for a thousand years! Perfect peace will come! However you can have peace today but only in Christ! No peace outside of him! He has already defeated Satan for you! But you must receive the peace he has purchased for you on the Cross! When I surrendered my sin to Christ his love overflowed into my life! No longer alone! Who do you follow today! Do you author divisions in family and our nation? Do you bring unity in Christ to others? Are you following the divider or the unifier? Today you are following one of two spirits! Satan or God! There is an eternal separation between God and Satan! There is only one mediator between you and God! His name is Jesus Christ! Without this mediator only hell awaits you! Hell on earth and hell eternal! You can have heaven on earth but only by submitting to the creator of heaven and earth! Do you believe God and his scriptures or are you going to trust Satan? You can trust a snake but he will bite you anyway! Make a right decision today that will overcome all your wrong decisions and trust Christ with your past, present and future! Why is Satan Released? Revelation 20:7
Greek Translation: “And when the thousand years were expired with the end goal completed, Satan the prince of devils who casts himself between people to divide them shall be loosed out of his prison.” Comment: Asking questions about God is not a denial of our faith but for clarification! One thing for sure the answers are found in your Bible! Think about the millennium or thousand years of reign of Christ here on earth with perfect peace! All because Satan is in prison! The lion lays down with the lamb! No more war! No army, air force, marines, law enforcement, FBI, CIA, ICE, TSA and the list goes on! No more political races! No terrorists and shooters! Without Satan socialism will work! No one tries to rule over another! No crime! No more sleeping with a pistol under your pillow! No drugs and illegal immigration! No abortion! No slavery! No racism! No persecution of Christians! No more beheadings! No more accidents and plane crashes! No sinking ships! No hurricanes and drought! No floods! However after the thousand years your neighbor calls you and many other saints for a community meeting? He explains to you that you do not have to follow Christ anymore! We can build our own kingdom of earth! Together we will conquer Christ and his followers! We can rise up and war! Wow! Did we have some fakes on earth during the millennium? Satan is let out of the bag and guess what? Division! So what is God’s purpose in letting Satan back unto the earth? God has power to bind him or loose him! God’s purpose for releasing Satan is to bring his final judgment of him into the Lake of Fire! Christ went to the Cross for two purposes! To bring redemption to man and pronounce final judgment on Satan! Author of War! Revelation 12:10
Greek Translation: “And I heard a loud voice saying in Heaven, Now is come Salvation deliverance from suffering with capability and inherent strength, from the Kingdom of Heaven and our true God, and with the allowed authority of the power of his Christ: for the accuser who brought his own complaint against the brethren is cast down, which accuses them before our God day and night.” Comment: In this verse there are nine Greek words translated to the English text. First salvation is deliverance from suffering! From sin, death, sickness, sorrow, condemnation, false accusations, Satan and Hell! Relief from the author of persecutions! The strength of Christ is inherent in his character and name! He overcame them by the Blood of the Lamb! The Kingdom of Heaven has one true God! Christ is under authority! That is he does nothing on his own but under the authority of his Father! No one can be in authority unless they are under authority! The most interesting word at least for me is the Greek word for accuser! Satan brought his own complaint before God! Satan was really complaining about himself! Satan is the author of war! Then he plants the blame on the believer’s following Christ! He did this with Job also! Satan commits the crimes then blames on others to try to escape! Sound familiar? It is like the Russian Collusion story! Hillary takes millions of dollars from Russia in the Uranium One deal and puts the money in her Canadian account! Biden takes millions of dollars from China in trade deals benefiting China and hurting American workers and now campaigns China is no threat to us? So to try to escape the sin of their deeds what do they do? Here comes Trump along! Let us hang this on him! Satan does the crime through you and then accuses you before God! God got so fed up he cast Satan out of Heaven! There is only one name that Satan trembles at! His name is Jesus Christ! Where we spend eternity has everything to do with what we do with Jesus! Satan uses Religion! Genesis 3:5
Well Pastor explain to me how Satan uses religion to promote his Kingdom? How does Satan attract people to Hell? What bait does he use to catch men in his net? Are there not some good benefits to all these religions of the world? Could they all be wrong? Let us go back to the Book of Genesis to look at the very first sin! We see that Satan offered Eve the farm if she would eat of the forbidden fruit and promised her she would be as gods knowing good and evil! Notice Satan promised her she would not be like God but like the little gods! Satan used the plural form with small case letters! Also notice Satan did not say she would know good from evil but rather would know good and evil! Do you see the deception here! It was as deceptive as a political debate! Eve make yourself God! Make a bunch of little gods and you can be God over them! Build your own Kingdom Eve! You will surely not die if you eat this fruit! God is a liar! The religions of the world make their own little gods! Make yourself God! The bait of pride brought down man! Man by his own efforts attempts to reach God! Climbing up different ways to reach the top! We have to work our way to Heaven! Your own efforts will work your way to Hell! It will never work! It never has! The truth is God came down from Heaven to earth to provide redemption to men through his Son Jesus Christ! He paid a heavy price of his own blood to redeem us! From our sin! He took upon himself who was sinless our sin and death! The Tower of Babel was all about reaching God and climbing up by their own efforts! Our own efforts lead to sin! Sin is the currency of our own works! When God flooded the earth in the days of Noah man had become so evil in promoting themselves over God he had to destroy them! The latest cultural little god here in America is to claim to God and the whole world there is no God! The first attempt to make God a little god was recorded in the Book of Genesis! Church at Philadelphia (Continued)
Revelation 3:10 Greek Translation “Because thou has kept my spoken word of my patience with endurance towards people not surrendering to circumstances, I also will keep you from the time and season of Satan trying to test you to fall, which shall come to the inhabitants of the earth trying and testing them to fail.” Comment: Volumes could be written on this one verse! In fact the Book of Revelation is a compilation of all scriptures in both the Old and New Testaments put together! Remember the Word of God as recorded in your Bible was first spoken before it was written down! Remember his spoken word created this world! The power of God comes from taking his written word and then speaking it! That is why in our Constitution so much value was placed on free speech! Satan will always work through any culture to suppress free speech! Political correctness in our culture is one example! It is designed to suppress free speech! Don’t wear your religion on your sleeve! In other words shut up! Do not take Jesus to the public places! Keep him in your own little corner in church on Sunday! Jesus said to go out into all the world and preach the Gospel! There will always be an effort by Satan to silence the truth! To silence you! Notice what speaking the words of Jesus did for the Church at Philadelphia! It brought them endurance and patience towards people not surrendering to circumstances! Jesus said to them that since you have spoken the Word of God I will keep you from the wicked one Satan who wants to test you and cause you to fall! I will protect you from the second death or denial of me because you have chosen me! A rapture will come to everyone! Some to everlasting life and some to everlasting judgment! The coming future event of the rapture of his church from the earth will protect us from the seven year tribulation period led by the Anti-Christ! The greatest destruction in all the earth will happen during this period in history before Christ’s second coming! If you will confess the spoken word of God Jesus will come to you! He will rescue you! What will the tribulation prove? That Satan is real and evil! That God is true and righteous! That God’s word is accurate and the prophecies are true! That Salvation and judgment are a reality! That if you confess the Word of God with your mouth redemption and power will follow you all the days of your life! With your mouth you will either confess your way to Heaven or confess your way to Hell! Your confession is your destiny! Jesus said Antipas is my faithful martyr! Antipas was the Bishop of the church at Pergamos during the reign of Roman Emperor Domitian. The Apostle John ordained Antipas as Bishop of the church at Pergamos. Antipas was burned inside an idol which was a bull shaped copper structure. His crime was casting out demons worshipped by the local population! Some of the hero’s of the Faith are listed in Hebrews Chapter eleven! Stephen was a faithful martyr listed in the Book of Acts! Antipas was most likely a Greek who converted to Christianity. Antipas is the shortened name of Antipater. Remember that was the name of one of Alexander the Great successful Generals. (397-319 B.C.). Remember Herod the Great was known by this name! Jesus will avenge the blood of the Saints! Why did Jesus call Pergamum Satan’s Seat? Even Ephesus with all of its advantages with the Great Temple and bustling port, could not match the importance of the once royal seat of the Attalids! Situated on a scenic acropolis Pergamum was embellished with the largest number of Greek and Roman Temples in the whole of Asia Minor! Examples are Zeus, Athena, Apollo, Demetia, Dionysis and Aphrodite. On another site was housed the largest Aesclepium of the Empire. Its library of two hundred thousand volumes rivaled the renowned library in Alexandria! The eminent Doctor Galen was among her favorite sons! Roman Emperors came to seek healing at the famous Aesclelpium! Aesclepium was honored as the god of healing in the classical world. When the cult of “Dominus et Deus”, was initiated at Pergamum, the great Basilica was erected, adding to the rostrum of numerous idol Temples! The visitor today Bergama (Turkish name of the present day city), will see the immense structure at the edge of the bustling center. Basilica became the monument of vice and cruelty! Every citizen was forced to burn a few grains of incense here and worship the Emperor of Deus. Then they would proceed to their preferred practice a common syncetistic act which never lacked its double-faced devotees! For anyone who refused to submit to this profane practice death was imminent! Where as the Temple of Zeus was referred by the early Christians as the “Seat of Satan”, the appellation was later transferred to this center where some Christians felt compelled to pay obeisance! He That Overcometh! Revelation 2:11
Comment: Jesus repeated this over and over again to the church! He that overcometh I will give the crown of life! He that overcometh will escape the second death! What does the word really mean? Let us go to the Greek root word. The word is “Nikao”. The word means to subdue and conquer! To have success in victory! The Greek root word also has a root word! It is the word “Niki”. You got it! It is the athletic foot wear company named Nike! It means conquest! If you are in the body of Christ and believe you will never have a fight with the devil in this life you are in denial! You are in “La La” Land! This life in your generation just as in all preceding generations is a battle between good and evil! You can try to ignore it but it will not go away! You can wish it away? You can try to isolate it away? You can try to spend it away? However you have to join a team and play! Your team can win but you must fight the good fight of faith and face your enemy! Jesus has given you the tools to overcome! To win the victory! His Word! His Spirit! His power! His love! We conquer in Christ’s name! Satan was conquered on the Cross! However in his stupidity he thinks he can still win! He will try to take as many down as he can in defeat! This week a young man went on a mission trip to a remote island where a remote tribe lived! He was martyred! Others will follow to take the Gospel to the ends of the earth! This missionary gave his all to take the Gospel into all the world! If I live my life sheltered, protected, financially secure, and die of old age in this condition I have wasted my life for nothing! The church of Jesus Christ is a conquering army! It is an offensive army! We have real sacrifices and we take some casualties in this war against evil! But we win and will eat of the Tree of Life forever! Who Are They? Revelation 2:6
Who are the Nicolaitians? The word in the Greek means the conqueror of the people! Specifically in the Church of God! They are only referred to twice in the Book of Revelation. Both the church at Ephesus and the Church at Pergamos had the same problem! (Verse 2:15). The Nicolaitians were Bishops and prelates of the church gaining a triumphal victory over the laity! This is the very sin that brought forth the Reformation! It is mostly responsible for all our denominational and non-denominational churches around the world! The Nicolaitians compelled and forced church members to submit to the arbitrary dominion of men who have become the ones which the eternal hates! The Apostle Peter warned us that those who are leaders among God’s people must not dominate the faith of others but rather exhort them to do right! (1 Peter 5:1-3). The Nicolaitians are people in the church who have established a hierarchy of power and dominion under a government of ecclesiastical rulers! Comment: Yes! God hates these folks! Correction is very different from condemnation! We take the word disciple from the word discipline. Jesus used the techniques of correction and commendation very effectively! We as parents either tend to over correct and under commend or over commend and under correct! Everything I do cannot be right and everything I do cannot be wrong! That is why I need a Savior! My experience in ministry over the past 45 years has shown me people do not like to submit to authority! This is the nature of Satan! Most people will submit to authority if commended and corrected in love! However some will never! Hell is reserved for these folks! Why will some never submit? Because they want to replace God! This explains why the world is a war! War on God! Jesus asked the churches at Ephesus and Pergamos to repent! Sunday our Pastor Oscar Cope made an important point to us in his sermon! Seven Spirits! Revelation 1:4
John to the seven churches which are in Asia; grace be unto you, and peace, from which is and which is to come, and from the seven spirits who are before his Thrown. Comment: The seven churches in Asia Minor were not the only congregations there! They were the nearest churches to John who was exiled on the island of Patmos. The phrase “from which is and which is to come”, refers to Jesus Christ. Grace and truth comes through Jesus Christ. Where some controversy can come is the phrase, “Seven spirits who are before his Throne”. Some believe these are angels! However the problem here is the word used is not angels but spirits! The word spirits, Strongs #4151, translates breath of God or the mighty rushing wind of God! This leads me to believe this was the Holy Spirit part of the Trinity! Remember the Holy Spirit was already sent to the church at Pentecost! Jesus said I must go back to my Father to send the Holy Spirit! Where is the Holy Spirit sent from? Heaven! From the Throne of God where He resides! Remember the Holy Spirit is not a created being like humans and angels! However the Holy Spirit resides in created beings like me and you! Why? For God’s purposes! Remember Lucifer who became Satan and 1/3 of the angels rejected God and His Holy Spirit! God does use angels like Gabriel and Michael and are his servants! They have a choice just like we do! Some believe these spirits are the gifts of the Holy Spirit! The Catholics believe there are 7 gifts and the Protestants believe there are 9 gifts!
