Revelation 1:4 “John to the seven churches which are in Asia: Grace unto you, and peace, from which is, and which was, and which is to come, and from the seven Spirits which are before his throne;” Commentary: We have done an earlier post on this scripture. If you go to the search box on our blog we made a post on October 23, 2018. Did you ever notice the scriptures never tire with age! He is the same yesterday, today and forever! Did you know God identifies you by the spirit living in you! He knows his own! Satan has a spirit! The spirit of Anti-Christ! The Holy Spirit is identified by seven spirits! Catholics believe their are seven spirits or gifts of the Holy Spirit and Protestants believe there are nine! Regardless the Holy Spirit will dwell in you only if he sees the Blood of Christ applied to your life! The Holy Spirit will not enter where he is not welcome! This is why the disciples asked new converts have you received the Holy Spirit? Jesus ascended back to the Father in heaven so he could send the Holy Spirit! After salvation through Christ you must ask for the Holy Spirit! He then will help you in your walk with Christ! He will warn you and protect you from the wicked one! The Anti-Christ is recognized by a foul spirits apart from God! He hates the Blood of Christ! He hates Christians! He works through political powers of principalities of darkness to fight Christ and his follower here on earth! Christ came to save the world! Satan to destroy it! To neutralize salvation of men living on the earth! To steal their heaven and give them a hell! To reject Christ brings war, violence, riots, plagues, abortion, death, drugs, homosexuality, transgenderism, wokeness, open borders, anti-law enforcement, crime, with invasion of liberty, justice, freedom and law and order! Have you received the Holy Spirit? We never so much as heard of the Holy Spirit? Read Genesis 1:2 “For the Holy Spirit moved upon the face of the waters.” He was active in the creation of this world! So Where are the Churches?
So where are the seven churches today listed in the Book of Revelation? Why did they not survive? Did they have really bad Pastor’s? Unfaithful members? The answer is the Greco-Turkish War! (1919-1922) It was a war between Christians and Muslims! The reason for the Muslim victory over Asia Minor is a complicated one! First of all Greece itself was divided politically in regards to the war! Europe itself was war weary from WWI. The Bolshevik Russia Revolution forming Socialism wanted to work against Christian governments in the West! With the Treaty of Moscow in 1921 Russian sent money arms and ammunition to the Muslims in Turkey! Starting in 1920 they sent them 6000 rifles, 5 million rounds of ammunition, 17600 shells and 442 pounds of gold bullion! Over the next two years they increased their aid! Here is a quote from Ernest Hemingway who was a war correspondent at that time for the Toronto Star; “Another night a British destroyer stopped a boatload of Turkish Muslim women who were coming from Asia Minor. On being searched for arms they turned out to be men! They were all armed and later proved to be Kemalist officers sent to organize the Turkish population in the suburbs in case of an attack on Constantinople. (Later Istanbul). The Armistice of Mudanna on October 15, 1922 followed by the Treaty of Lausanne Greece and Turkey came to an agreement to exchange populations. Over one million Greek Orthodox Christians were displaced; most of them resettled in Attica and the newly incorporated territories of Macedonia and Thrace and were exchanged for about 500 thousand Muslims. Message to Churches! Revelation 1:5
Greek Translation: And from Jesus Christ, who is the faithful one worthy to be believed keeping his promises a witness having knowledge of everything. The first born of the whole creation being before and after all things. The first born for the spiritual dead. He is the Prince or chief ruler of the Kings of the people in the earth as part of man’s dominion in creation. Unto him that first showed his love toward men. And washed us from the sin that kept us from our true purpose of life in his own blood. His blood the life of all flesh.
Mystery Solved! Revelation 1:20
Comment: The word mystery translated from the Greek means a sacred spiritual mystery! Something that is hidden but to be revealed later. This is why a believer in Christ lives by faith! We do not see everything about our faith immediately but God reveals himself to us in steps as we progress in following him! The word angels used here simply means a messenger! Someone with a message! It could be Gabriel however this word angel in the Greek can also mean a Bishop, Pastor or a designated elder! The word churches means a congregation of believers following Christ. I believe the angels were the seven Pastor’s of the seven churches in Asia Minor (Turkey). This letter was for them! Some believe the Roman guards would have read John’s letters so he coded them so only the churches would understand what he was saying! When the Roman guards read these letters they probably thought John was crazy! I am sure the world today looks at us the same way! The foolishness of God is wiser than the wisdom of men! The reason the Romans released John from prison is probably because they thought he was not a threat to Caesar but just plain crazy! Remember the whole Book of Revelation is the unveiling or uncovering the mystery of Jesus Christ! Look for Jesus Christ as you read and study this Book! To those who have not received the Revelation of Jesus Christ this Book would look foolish yet to those who have received him it is the power of God! The stars and the candlesticks ultimately all point to Christ! There was a star over Bethlehem and Jesus is the light of the world! Let him light your path so you do not stumble in the darkness! Church & Synagogue Security!
I suggested about 2 years ago that security need be provided to churches and synagogues across America whether you have a small or large attendance! You could have at least one or more trusted members with a concealed carry permit in the congregation during worship services. Seven Spirits! Revelation 1:4
John to the seven churches which are in Asia; grace be unto you, and peace, from which is and which is to come, and from the seven spirits who are before his Thrown. Comment: The seven churches in Asia Minor were not the only congregations there! They were the nearest churches to John who was exiled on the island of Patmos. The phrase “from which is and which is to come”, refers to Jesus Christ. Grace and truth comes through Jesus Christ. Where some controversy can come is the phrase, “Seven spirits who are before his Throne”. Some believe these are angels! However the problem here is the word used is not angels but spirits! The word spirits, Strongs #4151, translates breath of God or the mighty rushing wind of God! This leads me to believe this was the Holy Spirit part of the Trinity! Remember the Holy Spirit was already sent to the church at Pentecost! Jesus said I must go back to my Father to send the Holy Spirit! Where is the Holy Spirit sent from? Heaven! From the Throne of God where He resides! Remember the Holy Spirit is not a created being like humans and angels! However the Holy Spirit resides in created beings like me and you! Why? For God’s purposes! Remember Lucifer who became Satan and 1/3 of the angels rejected God and His Holy Spirit! God does use angels like Gabriel and Michael and are his servants! They have a choice just like we do! Some believe these spirits are the gifts of the Holy Spirit! The Catholics believe there are 7 gifts and the Protestants believe there are 9 gifts! Storm Clouds Europe 1937
By May 1st, 1937 there should not be one single church left within the borders of the Soviet Union, and the idea of God will have been banished from the Soviet Union as a remnant of the Middle Ages, which has been used for the purpose of oppressing the working class. Joseph Stalin Comment: Another follower of Charles Darwin! What is interesting about this time in history is most of the major leaders of Europe were all followers of Darwin yet it lead to WWII? My Bible says a fool has said in his heart there is no God! Christian America had a civil war! The war was about the sin of slavery! Can we go to war for a right cause? Can we go to war for a wrong cause? Yes and no! My concern for America today is that the teaching of Darwinism to our children over generations in our public schools is beginning to pay dividends of anarchy within our nation! Darwinism says just kill your enemies! Those that disagree with you just get rid of them! That was what the Russian Revolution was all about! Jesus had a very different approach! Forgive your enemies! What the Bible shows us is that our 1st enemy is ourselves at war with God! We all need forgiveness! If we will all begin with this then reconciliation is possible! Cloudless Harps! Revelation 21:1-27
In the new heaven and earth there will be no sanctuary, temple or church! Yes unemployed Rabbi’s, Priest’s and Pastor’s! There will be no sun and no moon! Jesus is the light of the world! Remember at creation? Let there be light! No night there! No clouds there! We reflect the light of Jesus as the moon reflects the light of the sun! No sickness in heaven! No hospital’s, no doctor’s, no nurses, no pharmacy, no x-ray machines, no MRI scanners and no chemo therapy! No sadness in heaven! No more tears! No tears of wasted lives! No tears of pre-mature death! No tears for suicides! No graves! No undertaker’s! No cemetery! No stone cutter’s! No wreath maker’s! Also no separation in heaven! No more farewell parties at the airport! No crying for departed loved ones! No more sea of separation! Remember the Apostle John who wrote this Book of Revelation? He was imprisoned on the island of Patmos surrounded by a sea! He longed to be with the seven Churches but was imprisoned as a slave laborer in a marble stone quarry! No prison’s in heaven! No more condemnation in heaven! I will pray for you but the reason for all your problems is because of sin! No prayer in heaven! Last no more sin in heaven! No military, no police departments, no FBI. no CIA, no NSA. The unrepentant sinners will be separated from heaven in the Lake of Fire! No dirty words spoken in heaven! No disobedient thoughts and actions! No acts of revenge from unrepentant sinners expressed in violence! Yes, cloudless harps! We will be in constant praise to our King in heaven! Sound boring? Then try the Lake of Fire where the worm never dies and the fire is never quenched! You cannot have one foot in heaven and one foot in hell? You have a choice as long as you have breath! Warning to Churches & Synagogues!
If all schools across America arm their staff and provide more security guards then the soft targets will be reduced! Then the only soft targets left are churches, synagogues, entertainment venues and shopping malls! Suggest you increase security in your Halls of Faith to protect your people! America is becoming the wild west again and we must dress accordingly! Do not allow people with backpacks into your congregations! Have the screening done before they enter your building! Christopher Columbus had a GPS!
Please? You just quoted from him that he did not use intelligence, mathematics or maps to discover the New World. So what was his GPS? Your Bible my friend! It is hard to make a long story short but I will try! Here is the scripture Columbus banked on to convince the King and Queen of Spain there was more to our world in 1492. He quoted Esdras 6:42. “Upon the third day Thou did command that the waters should be gathered in the seventh part of the earth, six parts hast Thou dried up and kept them being planted by God and tilled, might serve Thee.” Hold it boy? I say boy what in tarnation are you talking about? The Book of Esdras is not in my Bible? First and Second Esdras are Books in the collection of the Apocrypha or Deuterocanonical Books. These writings are accepted as scripture by the Roman Catholic and Orthodox Churches, but rejected by the Protestants. First and Second Esdras are associated with the Book of Ezra in our Bible. Since Columbus was a Catholic this scripture was used to convince him that there was a missing continent and he could find it sailing west! If you count Europe and Asia as one continent since they are a attached land mass there are six continents in the world. Since the Protestants rejected this Book the Catholics had the edge in exploration of the New World! This explains why today South, Central and North America are predominately Catholic!
