1 Corinthians 15:22 “For as in Adam all [die], even so in Christ shall all be [made alive].” Commentary: The word die used here means a natural death. The words ‘made alive’, means to be raised from the dead! So all die and all shall be raised from the dead! Some to everlasting life and some to everlasting judgment! This is determined by what we do with Christ while living here on earth! Accept him or reject him? Jesus raised Lazarus from the dead yet he died again! Jesus raised the widow’s son yet he died again! Then after the Cross Jesus was raised from the dead! The resurrection is the seal of approval by God for the redemption of man! Jesus has also given us a spiritual resurrection while living here on earth! Jesus said we must be born again! A second birth! Unlike Lazarus and the widow’s son Jesus never died after his resurrection! The proof of our born again experience is a changed life! No longer seeking sin but God! For some the resurrection is a leap of faith yet the same people believe they came from monkeys? If you deny the resurrection of Christ you deny his deity! To believe the lie there is no resurrection falsely enables people not to be accountable for their sin and the eternal consequences! However if you deny the resurrection one day you will be raised from the dead at the Judgment seat of Christ! Since Christ took your judgment for sin on the Cross and you rejected him you stand naked before the living God! What excuse will you give? Raised from the Dead?
Jake would you please rise for your sentencing! Jake you have been charged and found guilty by a jury for your crimes! Jake in all my years as a judge I have never seen a more interesting case! Let us rehearse this case. You had a life insurance policy on you for five hundred thousand dollars. You went to the county coroner who was a good friend of you and told him if he would issue a death certificate on you the money would be equally divided between you and the coroner. About the same time you went down to the court and applied for a name change. You wanted your name changed to Lazarus. Jake let me guess your new last name is? Judas! Right? Then your wife got the insurance check so she signed it and asked you to go down to the bank and deposit it in your joint checking account. Since she was not present at the bank the teller asked you to co-sign on the back of the check and to present your drivers license for identification. Jake am I correct so far? Yes your honor. Jake you were not only dumb once but twice! Jake I would suggest that you change your name to Paul Silas and sing at the midnight hour! You are getting into prison all by yourself but it will take a miracle to get you out! Goals! Matthew 4:8-9
Jesus said what profits a man if he gain the whole world and lose his only soul? Remember the Devil offered Jesus all the Kingdoms of this world if he would bow down and worship him! We need a Godly goal! An eternal goal! Depending on our natural gifts we have different abilities. I will never play football in the NFL. I will never go to the Olympics. I am not a rocket scientist. I always enjoyed taking things apart and turning wrenches. I love preaching the Gospel but never had a full time job doing it. I love girls but they are very expensive! I like politics but it is too ugly for me! I would rather do a Bible Study than balance my check book! Math was not my best friend! We should all have one common goal! Reach the Kingdom of God! After this life an eternity awaits us all! Did you ever notice Jesus just had one goal. His goal was to prepare people for Heaven! To do that he had to die a ugly death on a Cross! He had to be raised from the dead! He had to ascend to his Father in Heaven to prepare a place for us there and send his Holy Spirit to us here on earth! How would I know if I had a Godly goal? I would have the same goal for you that I have for myself! My goal is to lead people to Jesus! I do not want to be set apart from Jesus seeking the Kingdoms of this world ending up separated from God forever! Also denying you access to Heaven by my rebellion against Christ! By creating an ideology that opposes the Kingdom of God! I want to share Heaven with you! My goal is that we both share Heaven together! Jesus said they will know you are my disciples if we have love for one another! Do you love the world as much as God does? Humanly impossible! But by his indwelling Holy Spirit all things are possible! Why not give your goals to God and let him sort them out in his eternal plan and purpose for your life! Keeping or Polluting the Sabbath? Isaiah 56:2
Comment: What is my attitude about keeping the Sabbath the 4th Commandment of God? If I were to keep the Sabbath I would guard it like a gardener building a hedge around his garden! I would guard it as a shepherd would protect his flock from the wolves! Why is the Sabbath important to God? It is the seventh day of the week! Remember after God finished creating the world for six days he rested from his labor on the seventh day! It was the climax of his creation! On the Sabbath you cease from your work and reflect on the wonderful things God has worked out for you! You rest in his supply! You relax trusting God rather than your own works! So how would I pollute the Sabbath? You would just make it another common work day! It would be violence against God’s established law! I would defile, pollute and desecrate a Holy God! I would ignore him and his Blessings and trust in my own works! Jesus is Lord of the Sabbath! Remember the Jewish religious leaders got on Jesus for healing on the Sabbath! Jesus was raised from the dead on the Sabbath! That is why we worship on Sunday! He rested from his work on the Cross! If God needs rest who are we? Are we greater than God? Remember Lucifer thought he was greater than God! What happened to humanity? Death, destruction, war, disease, sickness and famines! Do you want to worship death or life? Self-worship is worshiping death! Worship life by honoring God and his Sabbath and creator of life who has also promised to raise you from the dead both now and forever! Lent Season 2 Corinthians 5:17
Greek Translation; “Therefore if any man be in Christ he is a new quality never before accomplished and a fully restored man that God has created. Old things are passed away and all things have become new.” Comment: What things are passed away? Our sin has passed away! It passed away on a Cross over two thousand years ago! Sin died on the Cross with Jesus! It was nailed on a Cross never to rise again! Sin is defeated forever! Man was raised from the dead without sin! A new creature uninfected by sin! Born again! A restoration that has nothing to do with men but everything to do with God! The only sacrifice that is perfect and everlasting! Man’s efforts have failed but God’s work won the day! A victory that is not seasonal with every new game but eternal! No rivals! It is not a victory that is waiting for the next war but has defeated all foes past and future! A trophy that will not rust with time but the timeless redemption of all ages! Heaven and earth will pass away but not our Christ! He will create a new Heaven and a new earth to go along with your new life! Awaken to your new reality that had been hidden in time! Do you want to trade in your old model for the new model or do you want to hang unto death? Do you want to exchange your sin for righteousness before God? Righteousness that He purchased for you! Do you want to be wrong with men and right with God? Free at last! You cannot have it both ways! Heaven or Hell not Heaven and Hell. As we enter into the Lent season think on these thoughts! Is Jesus Still Incarnated?
Absolutely! As we approach Christmas let us remember Jesus Christ born of a virgin, crucified for our sin, raised from the dead and now seated at the right hand of His Father in Heaven is still in His incarnated estate and always will be! When He returns to earth at His second coming in His incarnated estate He will be God and man! If Jesus were to lose His divinity or humanity we would all die in our sin! As God He fulfills all righteousness and as human He delivers us from our unrighteousness and sin! The Angels in Heaven are still celebrating His virgin birth as we are on earth! Our birthdays have or will fade into human history as Jesus said we must be born again! That birthday will be celebrated forever! Lazarus Sleepeth! John 11:11 Greek Translation
The Greek word “Koimao” used here for sleep means deceased or dead! Jesus goes on in a later verse to emphasize that Lazarus is dead! There is another Greek word used for sleep in the New Testament which is “Katheudo.” This word means to lie down and rest but was not used in this passage of scripture. What may be of interest to you is this same Greek word used for sleep which means deceased or dead is the same word used in Acts 12:6. Peter was sleeping between two soldiers in chains! Verse 7; The Angel of the Lord came upon him and light shone in the prison and smote Peter on the side and raised him up, saying arise up! His chains fell off! Herod had Peter beaten badly! By definition of the word used Peter could have been deceased lying between the two soldiers! Peter may have been raised from the dead! The angel was probably Jesus Himself! Made Whole! Luke 8:48-50
Jairus the Temple ruler had one daughter 12 years old who was very sick! Jairus had sent for Jesus but He got delayed when a crowd of sick people thronged Him! A woman in the crowd touched the hem of His garment and got healed! Jesus commended her for her faith! Jairus sent another message to Jesus telling Him not to come for his daughter is dead! You might call this a cold case! Jesus presented two conditions for restoration! Fear not and believe and you will be made whole! So what does the words made whole mean? Elementary Watson! The Greek root word used here is “Sozo.” It is the same word used for our English word “Salvation.” This word means a spiritual and eternal rescue granted immediately by God for those who believe in Christ! It is the current experience of God’s power to those who believe in Christ! It is God’s power to deliver us from sin and death! What death are we talking about here? It is the second death or eternal judgment made by Christ Himself! Remember Jairus daughter and Lazarus were raised from the dead but they died a physical death again! Lightening can strike twice! I was delivered from my death bed in 1973 and have served Christ for the past 44 years but I will experience another physical death! Remember what Paul said in 1 Corinthians 5:5? Remember the congregation member living with his father’s wife? Verse 5: “To deliver such a one to Satan for the destruction of the flesh, that the Spirit may be saved in the day of the Lord Jesus Christ.” Remember Physical death is Satan’s work not God’s work! Death is the result of sin! If Salvation was a rescue of our physical bodies here on earth then we would never die again while here on earth! At the resurrection we will receive glorified bodies that will never get sick or die! Remember at the Judgment seat of Christ some Christians will lose their rewards but not their Salvation! When some Christians get to Heaven will they be on probation? Jesus has gone to prepare a place for us! Jesus went back to Heaven to pray for us, send the Holy Spirit and prepare a place for us! He will come again! You cannot go there unless you have Salvation with a new body and a redeemed soul! He can provide that to you because of Calvary! The Easter message is about this hope we have in Him and His promises to those who accept Him as Savior! Our hope is in Him! Our past is in Him! Our present is in Him! Our future is in Him! Easter Truth! John 5:28-29
These are the words of Jesus spoken from the Book of John! This is not my opinion! These words spoken by Jesus here are also confirmed by other scriptures including the Old Testament! The truth spoken here by Jesus here says that all will be raised from the dead! The believers and unbelievers! I believe this truth is forgotten in most Easter Messages! We forget the Bible applies to everyone whether you believe it or not! The righteous raised to everlasting life and the unrighteous raised to judgment and the second death or lake of fire! This truth makes the Salvation message even more important! Most of the 21 Century preaching today is a soft petal message of Jesus! Jesus was a lamb at His first coming but will be a lion at His second coming! How does a culture try to deny the truth about what Jesus said in this scripture in John? If you try to deny the grave then you could avoid any resurrection! Right? Three ways those at war with God in American culture do this! First they deny the existence of God! Atheism which includes Darwinism and evolution and the junk science that tries to validate it! Second the grave is denied through abortion! To abort a baby in the womb and cut it to pieces and sell the body parts is to deny this soul’s existence! No grave no resurrection! Abortion is also about money! Money is the root of all evil! Sadly millions of dollars of our tax money is used to do these atrocities on millions of children! Cremation is also a denial of the soul and the grave! Cremation is promoted as a method to save money? Save it for abortion! If you have no body you have no grave! War itself is a denial of the human soul and the sanctity of life! Islam claims it is their duty to kill Christian’s and Jews? Cut their heads off and separate the body and deny the grave! They also claim it is their job to eradicate a whole race of people in Israel? Hitler echoed the same words! He used cremation on 6 million! Rather than try to deny life and the grave would it not be better that your eternity is predicated on what you do with Jesus Christ! Christian Burial 1 Chronicles 16:1
Verse 1 (Ark) Comment: It is interesting the same Hebrew root word for Ark is also the same word for coffin! It is a sacred box which is kept in the Holy of Holy’s below the Mercy Seat. It originally contained the stone tablets (Ten Commandments), the pot of manna and Aron’s rod that budded! The original intent of the word was to gather together! Remember Joseph’s coffin that was carried out of Egypt during the Exodus! We have the Ark of the Covenant! The Saint’s are gathered together in His Church on earth and will be gathered together in Heaven! Christian burial is not cremation! Fire represents judgment! Jesus was not cremated! The heathen cremate their dead! Let us look at Matthew 27:52 When Jesus died on the Cross many things happened! One thing was that the graves were opened and many bodies of the Saints which slept arose from the dead! John 5:28 says, “Marvel not at this: for the hour is coming, in which all in the graves shall hear His voice!” Remember at the resurrection the dead in Christ will be raised first! Jesus had a coffin or tomb and that tomb was sacred! Why? Because he returned to the grave to be raised from the dead after three days in the heart of the earth! I believe cremation is an attempt by man to escape the grave! One of the big problems with cremation is that you get no closure of the deceased! You have a memorial service with no body? Like being married to a woman that has a spirit but no body! I try to pattern my life after Jesus in living and dying! The money you save in cremation is not worth it! Thankyou.
