He That Overcometh! Revelation 2:11

Comment: Jesus repeated this over and over again to the church! He that overcometh I will give the crown of life! He that overcometh  will escape the second death! What does the word really mean? Let us go to the Greek root word. The word is “Nikao”. The word means to subdue and conquer! To have success in victory! The Greek root word also has a root word! It is the word “Niki”. You got it! It is the athletic foot wear company named Nike! It means conquest! If you are in the body of Christ and believe you will never have a fight with the devil in this life you are in denial! You are in “La La” Land! This life in your generation just as in all preceding generations is a battle between good and evil! You can try to ignore it but it will not go away! You can wish it away? You can try to isolate it away? You can try to spend it away? However you have to join a team and play! Your team can win but you must fight the good fight of faith and face your enemy! Jesus has given you the tools to overcome! To win the victory! His Word! His Spirit! His power! His love! We conquer in Christ’s name! Satan was conquered on the Cross! However in his stupidity he thinks he can still win! He will try to take as many down as he can in defeat! This week a young man went on a mission trip to a remote island where a remote tribe lived! He was martyred! Others will follow to take the Gospel to the ends of the earth! This missionary gave his all to take the Gospel into all the world! If I live my life sheltered, protected, financially secure, and die of old age in this condition I have wasted my life for nothing! The church of Jesus Christ is a conquering army! It is an offensive army! We have real sacrifices and we take some casualties in this war against evil! But we win and will eat of the Tree of Life forever! Who Are They? Revelation 2:6

Who are the Nicolaitians? The word in the Greek means the conqueror of the people! Specifically in the Church of God! They are only referred to twice in the Book of Revelation. Both the church at Ephesus and the Church at Pergamos had the same problem! (Verse 2:15). The Nicolaitians were Bishops and prelates of the church gaining a triumphal victory over the laity! This is the very sin that brought forth the Reformation! It is mostly responsible for all our denominational and non-denominational churches around the world! The Nicolaitians compelled and forced church members to submit to the arbitrary dominion of men who have become the ones which the eternal hates! The Apostle Peter warned us that those who are leaders among God’s people must not dominate the faith of others but rather exhort them to do right! (1 Peter 5:1-3). The Nicolaitians are people in the church who have established a hierarchy of power and dominion under a government of ecclesiastical rulers! Comment: Yes! God hates these folks! Correction is very different from condemnation! We take the word disciple from the word discipline. Jesus used the techniques of correction and commendation very effectively! We as parents either tend to over correct and under commend or over commend and under correct! Everything I do cannot be right and everything I do cannot be wrong! That is why I need a Savior! My experience in ministry over the past 45 years has shown me people do not like to submit to authority! This is the nature of Satan! Most people will submit to authority if commended and corrected in love! However some will never! Hell is reserved for these folks! Why will some never submit? Because they want to replace God! This explains why the world is a war! War on God! Jesus asked the churches at Ephesus and Pergamos to repent! Sunday our Pastor Oscar Cope made an important point to us in his sermon! First & Last! Isaiah 44:6

Hebrew Translation: “Thus says the King with Divine authority giving statutory laws to frame moral character. This is the King of Israel. I am the Redeemer a deliverer paying a ransom for your sin. I am the Lord of hosts directing my army of troops in Heaven who are in military service to me. I am first in place, time and rank. I am last concluding everything. Beside me there is no God.” Comment: Remember the words of Jesus in Revelation 22:13? I am the Alpha and the Omega! The first and the last! Why is he first? He is the cause of creation! Jesus was before all things! Very opposite to Darwin and evolution where he believed there was no God so with him everything began with man! When Jesus said he is the end it does not mean his extinction! Jesus meant his goal is reached redeeming men from death, Hell and the grave! Jesus is last for the conclusion of everything! He concludes with grace and judgment! You cannot have one without the other! You either let Jesus take your judgment on the Cross or you take your own judgment condemned to Hell.  Remember Matthew 20:16? Jesus said the last shall be first and the first shall be last! Lazarus the beggar was last in this world and the rich man was first! Then after the judgment Lazarus was first and the rich man was last! Jesus being first in time, order and rank will pass out rewards and punishments! If you have ever been in the military service you know the highest ranking military officer determines the rank of the rest of the unit! He will promote who he will. He will demote who he will. Evangelism on Steriods! Isaiah 61:1

Hebrew Translation: “The Divine Breath of God is upon me: because the Divine Nature of God has consecrated me into the office of Evangelism to preach a military victory over Satan to the meek: he has sent me to cover and bandage up, rule and govern the broken hearted, to preach, celebrate and invite calling you by name to the captives subdivided by religion, race, culture, gender, ideology and lies: and the opening of the prison to them that are imprisoned by them.”

Fools for Christ! 1 Corinthians 4:10

If I have brought any message today, it is this: Have the courage to have your wisdom regarded as stupidity. Be fools for Christ. And have the courage to suffer the contempt of the sophisticated world. Supreme Court Judge Antonin Scalia   Comment: This scripture in Corinthians says we are fools yet we are wise! Wise not in our own strength but wise in Christ! We are strong and honorable yet despised by the world! Why? Our future is not of this world! The world is betting on themselves we are betting on Christ! Wisdom is to have the mind of Christ! The mind of God! To understand life from an eternal perspective! Our battles are not against flesh and blood but against principalities and powers of darkness! Our battles are against spiritual forces! God’s spirit and Satan’s spirit occupy flesh and blood! We stay in the fight because Christ is victory over hell and the grave! Our present and future are with him! Our past is forgiven! The world lives opposing Christ because they believe this life is all there is? So they live a life that is harmful to themselves and others! The wisdom of men is foolishness to God! Their mortal minds have limited capacity and knowledge! Man can give some knowledge but God gives Revelation! Things that are future that are shown to believer’s in Christ today! Signs of Cultural Decline! Isaiah 5:20

Jesus said persecution will come to you if you are a follower of Christ! Many places in the world Christian martyrdom is common! However in America the assault is growing on Christian’s! Here are the steps that lead to persecution in any culture! What was once celebrated is now condemned! Some examples? Crosses, traditional marriage between a man and a woman! Bibles! Ten Commandments! American Flag! Patriotism! Legal immigration! Borders! Nationalism! Military service! Sodomy laws! Sunday worship! Free speech! Right to bare arms! Prayer in schools! Free press! Visual displays of Christ! Verbal expressions of Christ in the public places! Litigation and fines against those that support traditional values! Social media blocking of Christian content on Facebook, Google and other media forms! So if you condemn what the Bible has expressed as evil then you will not celebrate the condemned then you will be condemned by the culture politically, socially and judiciously! McKinley Made America Great Again!

William McKinley was the 25th President of the United States. He was also a Congressman and Governor of Ohio. As President he led America into the Spanish-American war and victory! We acquired the U.S. territories of Puerto Rico, Hawaii, Guam and the Philippines as a result of the war. He imposed tariffs to protect American middle class workers! He was the last serving civil war President! He fought against slavery in the Union army! He entered military service as a private and completed service as a Major in rank! He maintained America on the gold standard! If this would have not been changed later we would not have a 21 Trillion dollar debt over our heads! He respected God and his Faith! Here is a quote from him: “The more profoundly we study this wonderful book (The Bible), and the more closely we observe its divine precepts, the better citizens we will become and the higher will be our destiny as a nation.” President McKinley was assassinated in 1901. Victim of gun violence! Comment: So why do they want his statue torn down? Because he is white, Republican, patriot, American hero, veteran, Christian or he reminds the left leaning citizens too much about President Trump? There is a narrative throughout American culture now to remove our great history and those who led it? Why? If you hate America leave it! Go to Russia, Iran, North Korea, Cuba or any place where American values are not celebrated but hated! Join our enemies of the Cross and our Christ! Reverse Roe vs Wade 1973

With Justice Kennedy retiring this summer President Trump has an opportunity to place another conservative on the bench! The supreme court has reversed itself many times over our history with a later generational membership that saw the error of the court! We are ripe for a reversal now with another generation in the court and with more conservatives on the bench! The 1973 court members that pushed this through have a lot of blood on their hands! Now is the time to stop the murders of our children and the war on women! Please pray that Trump will find the right person with a Christian conscious!
