But as the days of Noah were so also the coming of the Son of man be.” Commentary: So what happened in the days of Noah? The world became so wicked God had to destroy it except one family who had faith enough in God that God required them by faith to build an ark for the coming flood. Jesus since the Cross is saving the world but not all have faith in his redemptive work! Many are saved yet many more reject his love! More Signs End Times! II Timothy 3:3
“[Without natural affection], [truce-breakers], [false accusers], [incontinent], fierce, [despisers of those that are good].” Commentary: There are many more signs listed in Chapter three but we will cover the five words or phrases listed in this verse taken from the Greek language. Biblical principles are absorbed in small dosages best! Even if you eat an elephant it is just one bite at a time! That is why we study and read our Bible everyday! We pray everyday! We attend church at least once a week! We already covered “without natural affection” in an earlier post. Meaning no family love! Divorce, gay marriage, homosexuality, lesbianism, transgenderism, racism, gender neutrality are all attacks on the family! The next words “truce-breakers” describes the spirit in a person that rejects any terms of reconciliation! He is at war with God and man and is irreconcilable! He refuses to give up his enmity! He cannot forgive! He rejects God’s Salvation! Refuses to be reconciled to the Father through his Son for his sin! The next words “false accuser’ is where we get our English word devil! Satan is the accuser of the brethren! Satan told Eve in the Garden of Eden that God is a liar! Some today still believe the lie! The next word is “incontinent”. It means without self control! Tom Brady advised his team mates who have never been to a Super Bowl before that you must control your emotions! Otherwise we will get penalties that will defeat us! If self control ruled people there would be no crime! God tempers our emotions with control! The last words in this scripture is “despisers of those that are good”. This describes people who will sacrifice people even their own family for personal gain! They will sacrifice their nation for personal gain! Bribes by politicians from foreign governments! Godly people sacrifice themselves for other people! For their nation! God’s Kingdom is a sacrificial Kingdom! He sacrificed his Son for our sin! The End of the World?
As a young kid in high school back in the 1960’s I saw a picture on the front of Time Magazine that showed this bum carrying a sign walking in Times Square in New York City saying the end of the world has come! I thought maybe for him? I would say today maybe we are much closer? Certainly some in this world might think so with the world wide pandemic! Sadly for about 350 thousand Americans over this past year it has come to an end! At least in this life! I saw watching an NFL playoff game last night that the NFL players are supporters of Criminal Social Justice Reform! I hope I got that right? The words sound good but what does it mean? In the political correct world we live in today you have to translate these things! What is social justice? For everyone? Who would be the poster boy for a Criminal Reformed Justice Warrior? Charles Manson? You could send money to his cell block but he passed on in 2017. The Lord help his soul! And his victims! Now the banning of Christian conservative content on social media platforms is moving forward at warp speed since the Democrats are taking control! Trump is building his own platform and as conservative content moves to other platforms great efforts by Twitter, Facebook, Google and YouTube are trying to shut these down! Do you see where this is going? America has been best known separated from other countries by freedom of speech and the debate of all idea’s! If the left has their platforms and the right has their platforms then they just become echo chambers for their own ideology! No debate can happen! There are no debates in Communist China, Russia, North Korea, Cuba and the list goes on! Will the day come to America where their are no debates? Right now people in America are being fired from their jobs for holding a particular political ideology? No promotions for you unless you hold the party line? You must carry water for the Democrats! Will they go after 75 million Trump supporters over the next four years? Will you not be able to buy a home or open a checking account or get a VISA card unless you hold a particular political ideology? This used to only happen in communist countries! Will you be shamed because you love Christ? If this same old bum back in the 1960’s were carrying this same sign in Times Square today he would get a lot of encouragement from the few that dare to walk the streets there! He would get a high five and an amen! Sorry not an amen but awoman! Sorry there! Please do not ban me! So where is all this going? Bible prophecy my friend being played out before your very eyes! In the Book of Revelation it says during the 7 year tribulation period ruled by the Anti-Christ and the False Prophet you will not be able to buy or sell without the Mark of the Beast! This world is coming to an end much sooner than even most Christians think! The Rapture of the Church is close at hand! The martyr of the Saints is increasing across the earth! I have said all that to say this! You will have to make a choice or you most likely already have between Christ and the Anti-Christ! Today it is not too late to choose Christ but tomorrow who knows? Plagues & End of Age!
Leviticus 26:21 “And if you walk contrary unto me, I will bring seven times more plagues upon you according to your sin.” Commentary: The affliction of epidemic diseases is often sent by God as punishment for sin! In Matthew chapter 24 Jesus disciples ask him what will be the signs of the end of the world? If you read chapter twenty four there is a long list given to us by Jesus! One of these signs is pestilences or plagues. So how would I walk contrary to God? Look at Leviticus chapter 21:2 and the following verses. By not keeping the Sabbaths! When living in Nebraska on a farm back in the 1950’s as a small child i remember my grandma saying we must get groceries today Saturday for tomorrow Sunday all the stores will be closed! Not respecting my sanctuary! Not walking in his statutes and keeping his Commandments! However if you walk keeping my word then blessings follow you! Rain and abundant crops! Your enemies will flee from you! Peace in the land and not turmoil! If America continues to walk contrary legislatively, judicially and socially how much time do we have? If God did not spare Israel how about us? One family survived the world flood! One family survived Sodom and Gomorrah! If you walk according to his word even thought plagues and destruction is all around you he will protect you! A thousand may fall at your side and ten thousand yet the Lord will stay you! We are sadly witnessing the destruction of America! An America that wants no part of God! Rebellion against God that a fool can never win! Jesus in Matthew 24 closed out the signs of the end by listing the last sign! He said he that will endure until the end shall be saved! Endurance in the midst of wickedness is a gift from God! Jesus closes out by listing the last sign! The Gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness to all nations, and then shall the end come! What is the climax of the end of the world? Christ’s second coming back to earth to rule and reign for a thousand years at the end of the 7 year Tribulation! Walk not contrary to Christ now and you will be part of his Millennium Kingdom later! If saved you reign with Christ now here on earth and you will also reign with him at his second coming! World without End!
Luke 1:33 Greek Translation: “And he (Christ) shall reign over as King to predominate over the House and family lineage of David forever; and his kingdom with the royal dominion of Heaven there shall be no end.” Comment: I can remember the Doxology we would repeat and the end of every church service in that small Methodist Church in rural Nebraska! World without End! Amen! I remember the old movies when on the screen and at the end of the show the bold letters across the screen would say, “The End”. I do not know why they did this for everyone knew anyway? Our understanding of the word “End”, might be lacking in some ways! Let us look at the Greek word. It means no limit! That is Christ will never cease to be what he is and who he is! He will never be extinct or terminated! He will never be an endangered species! The grave is empty for him! No headstone at his head! He is the seed that produces righteousness! Christ is the conclusion of the written and spoken word of God! His kingdom is forever! Death has no grip on him! In fact he defeated death! The anti-Semitism we see in the world today has always been in an attempt for the enemy Satan to destroy the house and lineage of David! To try to destroy the Jews! This is what Iran is trying to do to Israel! This is what Hitler tried to do! This is what the left wing of the Democratic Party in America is trying to do! The persecution of Christians parallels this effort! Expressed in church shootings! The very last war on earth is when the armies of the nations surround Jerusalem! However God will intervene for them! You cannot destroy a forever Kingdom! You will destroy yourself trying! Nations will rise and fall but his Kingdom is forever! Remember all the way back at Genesis 1:1? God created the heavens and the earth! They belong to him! God your creator has no beginning and no end! He did not evolve! Christ is as infinite and eternal as anyone can get because he is God! Have you joined the Kingdom of God or are you at war with God? If at war you cannot win this one! Christ defeated death, hell and the grave for you! Do not be a victim but a victor! When I came to the end of myself I became born again and entered the Kingdom of God here on earth! Global Warming & End Times!
2 Peter 3:7 Greek Translation: “But the heavens and the earth, which are now, by the same word are kept in store, reserved and kept watch over unto fire against the day and night over a duration of time of judgment separating good from evil and the perdition or ruinous state after death of ungodly men with no reverence for God opposed to God.” Comment: Global warming is real but not for the reasons men think! You may not be old enough to remember but back in the 1960’s the presumed threat was global cooling! On the front of Time Magazine and Newsweek you had pictures of walls of ice crushing dinosaurs! Then proclamations that the earth is going to be destroyed by the return of the ice age! The politicians were all running around with their proposed solutions! Just the opposite of today claiming the ice is melting too much! Actually we know the dinosaurs were destroyed during the world wide flood in the day’s of Noah! The earth has cooling and heating cycles according to sun spot activity! If the global warming today is the beginning of the end then repent of your sin! If not still repent! Heat and fire represent judgment! God will separate the lambs from the goats! Sheep follow a shepherd! The goats go out on their own and are consumed by the enemy! End of Your Faith? 1 Peter 1:9
Greek Translation: “Receiving the end, goal or completion not the extinction of your faith, even the Salvation with spiritual eternal deliverance of the soul the immaterial part of men.” Comment: So what is your end game? If you have the wrong goal you end up with the wrong outcome as in the case of Mr. Epstein! Who is your faith in? Who do you trust? The world? Men? Money? Politicians? Government? Google? Media? Military? Science? Religion? Yourself? If you put your trust in the promises of God he will make good on his promises detailed in your Bible! Remember everything will perish one day! Only time will prove what is eternal! God has power over the flesh because he created all flesh! What God creates like the Heaven and the earth are under his authority! God loves and cares for his creation and is best expressed by his personal sacrifice for the redemption of men! God’s goal is to save men! Satan’s goal is to destroy men! There is a competition for the soul’s of men! So which one are you going to trust? The one that loves you or the one that hates you? Your eternity began at your first breath but will not end at your last breath! What you do with Jesus Christ determines where you spend eternity! What are you going to do with the God that became flesh and sacrificed himself for you? What are you going to do with the one who conquered death for you? If you reject the God who created you then you play into the hands of Satan who wants to destroy you! God has delivered us from ourselves! The history of this world whether past, present or future shows men trying to destroy each other through violence and war! The Prince of Peace has rid men of the murderous desire to kill each other and transformed them into loving and caring for each other! This transformation is the evidence of your completeness in Christ! God has expressed his love to men through his Son Jesus Christ! Can you express this same love to your neighbor? Who Are They? Revelation 2:6
Who are the Nicolaitians? The word in the Greek means the conqueror of the people! Specifically in the Church of God! They are only referred to twice in the Book of Revelation. Both the church at Ephesus and the Church at Pergamos had the same problem! (Verse 2:15). The Nicolaitians were Bishops and prelates of the church gaining a triumphal victory over the laity! This is the very sin that brought forth the Reformation! It is mostly responsible for all our denominational and non-denominational churches around the world! The Nicolaitians compelled and forced church members to submit to the arbitrary dominion of men who have become the ones which the eternal hates! The Apostle Peter warned us that those who are leaders among God’s people must not dominate the faith of others but rather exhort them to do right! (1 Peter 5:1-3). The Nicolaitians are people in the church who have established a hierarchy of power and dominion under a government of ecclesiastical rulers! Comment: Yes! God hates these folks! Correction is very different from condemnation! We take the word disciple from the word discipline. Jesus used the techniques of correction and commendation very effectively! We as parents either tend to over correct and under commend or over commend and under correct! Everything I do cannot be right and everything I do cannot be wrong! That is why I need a Savior! My experience in ministry over the past 45 years has shown me people do not like to submit to authority! This is the nature of Satan! Most people will submit to authority if commended and corrected in love! However some will never! Hell is reserved for these folks! Why will some never submit? Because they want to replace God! This explains why the world is a war! War on God! Jesus asked the churches at Ephesus and Pergamos to repent! Sunday our Pastor Oscar Cope made an important point to us in his sermon!
