Jesus said persecution will come to you if you are a follower of Christ! Many places in the world Christian martyrdom is common! However in America the assault is growing on Christian’s! Here are the steps that lead to persecution in any culture! What was once celebrated is now condemned! Some examples? Crosses, traditional marriage between a man and a woman! Bibles! Ten Commandments! American Flag! Patriotism! Legal immigration! Borders! Nationalism! Military service! Sodomy laws! Sunday worship! Free speech! Right to bare arms! Prayer in schools! Free press! Visual displays of Christ! Verbal expressions of Christ in the public places! Litigation and fines against those that support traditional values! Social media blocking of Christian content on Facebook, Google and other media forms! So if you condemn what the Bible has expressed as evil then you will not celebrate the condemned then you will be condemned by the culture politically, socially and judiciously! Rejecting God’s Word! Isaiah 8:20-22
So what happens when any nation does this? Isaiah says the light will grow dim and the darkness will get darker! It is interesting that the Hebrew word for our English word darkness means a calamity such as an earthquake, hurricane, tornado, flood, storm, war or a nuclear attack! Could be a drought, forest fires, economic collapse or a host of other events! After this the people will rage against the King or President and last but not least God! Then they shall look into the earth and see anguish, trouble, darkness and be driven into more darkness! However Isaiah in the next chapter has some good news! Isaiah says as a nation goes into great darkness they will see a great light! The light shines greatest in the darkness! Can you see a pattern here going on in America today? The more we reject God the more calamities come! The assault on our National leaders and anyone who stands up for the Word of God! Vengeance on anyone who tries to point them to the light? Mockery of those who trust the God of the Bible! Crosses taken down, Commandments removed, prayer outlawed and lately destroying statues of our Christian Founding Father’s! Rejection of the Constitution and our laws that establish order in America! Anarchy on the rise! No dissenting views allowed to be expressed? Fascism on the rise! His words still apply today! The persecuted church in the Middle East, Africa and Asia understands this! It is more difficult to understand in the West where most pulpit messages are about prosperity, wealth, success, good health and the Donald Trump Heaven! What about the thousands of Christian’s beheaded over the past few years! Millions are refugees! Does the Gospel not apply to them? It is estimated since the first Century 45 million Christian’s have been martyred! Is the Bible just an American Gospel? However some prophetic promises in our Bible do not market well! So they are left alone and just pretend they are not there! Jesus Christ is the Spirit of Prophecy! Almost every sin listed in our Bible has been legalized by the state! Whether it be abortion, divorce, gambling, gay marriage or drugs! It will soon be illegal to have your gender posted on a bath room door! What is behind this craziness? Very simple! This is about losing our identity to prepare for the one world government! Illegal immigration and no borders is about losing our identity! Will not be long and the Olympics will be gone! Segregation is about keeping your identity! Heaven and Hell will be segregated! Integration is about losing your identity! The next coming event in America is legislating a law making Christianity illegal! It will probably come through the court’s! Possibly an executive order! Big gains have already been made like removing Crosses, nativity scenes, and any symbols such as our 10 commandments off court house walls! Political correctness also promotes hiding the truth! In the Islamic world it is illegal to be a Christian or a Jew with punishment by death! Satan in order to accomplish the one world government must remove all identity that unifies peace and order! Humility For Pride! John Chapter 13
During Jesus last 3 years of ministry He would sometimes say my time has not come yet! However in John Chapter 12 we see a change where Jesus says my time has now come! The word time means to honor! The word honor means to promote! Jesus promoted you from Hell to Heaven! Jesus promoted His Father! Jesus got promoted and is seated at the right hand of our Father today interceding for us in prayer! What is our response to Christians being beheaded around the world? How do we respond to violence? Jesus said those who live by the sword will die by the sword! Jesus was also living in violent times! Jesus life was just not hanging around shepherds anchored to green pastures! The Romans ruled through fear and violence! The same for the Middle East today! In Jesus day swords, spears and crosses ruled the day! The good Samaritan got beat up! Mr. Rogers could not have lived in this neighborhood! John 13:3-5 Why was this foot washing so offensive to Peter and the disciples? In the Jewish culture only gentiles could wash a Jews feet! A Jew could never wash another Jew’s feet! Jesus stepped on their pride! Never let your culture separate you from God! Jesus was never careless with His authority. He used it to draw people to God! Jesus shows us and His disciples that serving confronts our pride! Sometimes we have pride we are not even aware of! Pride hung on the religious and political rulers but could not cling to Jesus! Matthew 6:1-4 Jesus warned us not to let acts of kindness be seen of men. Give in secret! When was the last time you served in secret? There are 3 ways to serve. 1. Serve to be seen by others. 2. Serve in secret but to be proud of it! Self righteous! 3. Serve in secret as worship to God! Do we serve to impress God? Serve in pride? Do you think you are better than those you serve? John 13:34-35 Jesus gave us a new commandment! It covers the other ten! Love one another! I thought just my family and church members? Help those who cannot help you! Serving others is the most powerful witness to the world! The watching world will never agree with all our theology but are fascinated with our behavior of helping others! Serve the widow’s, orphans and the hurting! The one’s nearest us know us best! How do the one’s closest to you describe you? Do they call us servants? He who is greatest in the Kingdom of God is servant of all! Carl Marks had a philosophy but it was not a reality? He got his best friend’s wife pregnant and then sent the baby to an orphanage! This is not a good old Irish name! He is the leader of the ISIS. This stands for Islamic State for Iraq and Syria. Abu was in US custody between 2005 and 2009. In 2009 President Obama released him? As a result over the past few weeks 40000 Christians have fled Iraq! They had to leave their houses, land and possessions behind! Many have been decapitated, hung on Crosses or enslaved. Sadly we have a leader in the white house who is working hard to bring America down! He is doing a very good job! Christians around the world have never been at a higher risk for persecution than during his time in office! All of us wonder the outcome for us and the world for the next two years! Does he plan to leave office? Does he plan to create more civil unrest and declare emergency powers? If America survives Obama we may be able to pick up the pieces and establish America in her greatness once again! Our allies do not trust us and our enemies do not fear us! Many Voices Claim To Speak For God! Few Are Faithful To His Word!
Amos 8:11-12 The Prophet Amos lived thousands of years ago yet his voice rings true today and vogue as we witness the decline of America. Amos said not a famine of bread or water but a famine of the hearing of the Word of God! America’s decline is almost proportional to it’s rejection of the Bible. As nativity scenes are pulled from public view and Crosses removed from grave yards I wonder how long America can last? The good news is still the good news so we as Christians know that only the re-birth of Christ in America will save our people from destruction! Even though you may say Merry Christmas to a store clerk and they do not reply back or say Happy Holidays just continue to announce Christ to the world! No republican or democrat can save America. We have past the point of no return and only if Christ is re-born in the hearts and minds of Americans can this republic be saved! It is more than a Merry Christmas.
