Wisdom! Nehemiah 8:10

In this world sorrow comes to all and it often comes with bitter agony! Perfect relief is not possible except with time. You cannot now believe that you will ever feel better. But this is not true. You are sure to be happy again! Knowing this, truly believing it will make you less miserable now! I have had enough experience to make this statement. Abraham Lincoln Comment: Job is one of the best examples in our Bible where he was successful then lost everything including his family! He lost his health also! Then he had his miserable friends who condemned him for surely he must be evil and deserved this outcome! Yet Satan paraded in front of God mocking him and challenging God that if you take away all the blessings you have given him he will then curse you! What Satan could not touch was Job’s faith in God! God restored everything Job had lost and even doubled all he had lost before the calamities! Lincoln lost everything including his life for our nation! Faith to Leave Your Job? Mark 1:16-20

Jesus had just began his ministry in Galilee! Now he needed some recruits for the ministry! People he could train to carry on the ministry after his death, burial, resurrection and ascension! He found these rag tag fisherman alone the shore line of the Sea of Galilee mending their nets! They were tired of fishing and anything looked better than what they were doing! Ready for a new career! I am sure they did not know the cost of following Jesus? Jesus said count the cost! It cost him everything so would the cost be less for his followers? With the exception of John who was boiled in oil and exiled to a slave labor camp on the island of Patmos they were all martyred! John wrote the Book of Revelation there on this remote island so his time was not wasted there! While living and dying these men and women built the Kingdom of God while here on earth! You have to give up in order to gain! You have to plant a seed! We plant the Word of God! Faith in God enables us to do more than we could ever think or ask! However we must prove faithful where we are right now and in submission to authority before God will assign us bigger things to do! If we are faithful in small things we will be faithful in much! Regardless of your rank in the Body of Christ you will always be a servant! Regardless of your position you will always be a follower of Jesus Christ! Promotion does not come from the east or the west but from God! No one can take this promotion away from you! Once you are on the receiving end of one of Jesus miracles you understand his love and power! Power to do good! Jesus is able to overcome our human weakness! We have the power in the name of Jesus! Never trust yourself but trust Christ! We can let ourselves down and others but Jesus will pick us up! He is more than able! He makes us able! Our faith in Christ enabled us to spend 3 years on the mission field in India! We had enough money to buy a one way ticket to India! When I went to India I found people who were living on more faith than I was! I saw the place where Thomas the doubter was martyred in the 1st Century there in India! I saw some who were selling ministry books and cassette tapes for income to minister there! Some were sleeping along the roads there at night with the stars of the sky as their ceiling! You cannot please God without faith! Not a blind faith in yourself but a trust in Christ with the best outcome based upon his promises of eternal life! Jesus is still looking for disciples! Not perfect just like the fisherman but willing to follow him regardless of the cost! Jesus paid it all! Pastor Paul Cho told us in Korea that our primary mission to India was to help the local Pastor’s! To work across all denominational lines! To strengthen leadership! School & Police Shootings! James 1:2

“My brethren of the same womb count it all joy, that is rejoice with gladness of heart when you fall into various types of temptations.” Comment: James had a primary ministry to the Jews. He was referring to the Jews when he spoke of the same womb! However we as Gentile Christian’s that are “born again” are of the same family! So we to are to rejoice when temptation comes! Why? Remember Jesus prayer he taught us? Lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil. Temptation is authored by Satan and God will deliver us from his evil. What we do with the temptation will prove us either good or evil. Remember Job? Satan was the author of all his loses of family and wealth! However God gave him back twice as much! Jesus himself was tempted many times by Satan to try to keep him off the Cross! If you are God turn these stones into bread! Jump from the Temple Mount one of your angel’s will save you! Temptation will either condemn you or exonerate you! The evidence that we are all sinner’s and need salvation tells us we all have had moral failings! God has given us a way of escape through the one that defeated Satan at the Cross! We can choose to repent and change! Satan will solicit us to sin! God will empower you to resist! Resist the Devil and he will flee from you! Jesus cast out Devil’s but he did not destroy them! They moved on finding a herd of swine to dwell in! Satan was a deceiver from the beginning even before creation! He was cast out of Heaven and was waiting in the Garden of Eden! One day he will be cast into the Lake of Fire with his followers! So why did James say count it all joy? James goes on to explain in the following verses! To develop your faith with patience! A Crown of Life waits those who endure temptation! Endure means to resist Satan! How? God can empower you to resist Satan! Without the power of Christ no mortal can resist Satan! How did Jesus do it? He constantly said , “It is written! It is written!” Do you know the Words God wrote? Jesus resisted the Devil with the Word of God! The liar of all lies when he hears the Word of God will flee! Satan thrives on ignorance! Ignorance is not Bliss! It is Hell. Why is the Bible the most banned Book on earth? Try to get a Bible into any public funded University or High School. Our youth are taught Darwinism or Evolution where the strong should get rid of the weak! The stronger species will destroy the weak! The same conclusion that Darwinism teaches to our children is the same ideology that drove Hitler to do what he did! This ideology leads to racial pride and violence against each other! No knowledge of the Word of God leads to school violence and attacks on legal authorities! The vacuum left by removing every trace of God is filled with anarchy! They cannot hear the voice of God so they listen to the voice of Satan! It is back to the Garden of Eden all over again! You can take away guns but they will be replaced with knives, swords and clubs! Violence is not done by the weapon but by the evil heart of man living without the knowledge of God! The political left is behind all this Godless ideology! We need to return education to the American family and privatize our public institutions! Solicit President Trump to give school vouchers to every American family instead of sending these hundreds of billions of dollars from your tax money to public institutions! Yearning for Salvation? Job 7:21

Hebrew Translation:” And why has thy not taken away my predetermined rebellion and revolt and passed over or crossed over my criminal acts.” Comment: After Job had lost everything except his life this was his last question to God! Remember Job was a righteous man and hated evil! God had prospered Job with much wealth and a good family and good health! Then Satan that old serpent came along and challenged God to test Job for he told God Job will curse you if you pull all his blessings away! The challenge was on! After Job lost all his wealth and family only one question was left in Job’s mind? God why have you not forgiven my sin? Job lived during the Patriarchs probably around 600 B.C. It would be hundreds of years before Christ would be incarnated into the human race! Job was pleading for the Savior! Job believed all his trouble had everything to do with his sin! He had done everything right before God yet still had great troubles in his life? However the source of his trouble was Satan! So we face the same foe today! However Satan was defeated at the Cross of Calvary! If you do not recognize your enemy he will destroy you! If you do not arm yourself with the Blood of Christ there is none who can stand against him! The trouble in America today is the teaching of evolution to our children with the atheist foundation and they have no defense against Satan and he is shredding our culture to pieces! If you deny God you will also deny Satan! This is the most deadly decision you can make in life! Some people blame God and not Satan for their troubles! One day when you lose all your health and wealth you will ask the same question Job did! Our success sometimes can keep us from asking the most important question in life! But why wait until you are at the end of yourself? God’s reply to Job and to you and me is His Son Jesus Christ! Job needed a Savior and so do you! Do not wait until it is too late! Worship! Job 1:10-12

Job is one of the most fascinating Books in the Bible! In these passages of scripture God and Satan are having a conversation about Job! Satan is reminding God that He has blessed Job and the work of his hands with wealth! Satan told God that if you take the wealth away Job will curse you and he will be just like me! So God granted Satan power over Job’s wealth and Job lost money and family! My Bible also says God gives us power to get wealth! Satan can only take it away if God gives Satan authority over your wealth! Remember in the Temptation Satan offered Jesus all the Kingdoms of this world if He would just bow down and worship him! We see in verse 20 that after Job lost everything he rent his clothes bowed down to the earth and worshipped God! Worship can never depend on how much we have or do not have! Wealth can drive us away from God just as easily as poverty! A true heart of worship has nothing to do with our circumstances! Jesus on the Cross was the greatest test of this truth! True worship is understanding the sacrifice God has made for us and to sacrifice for other’s as He has done for us! Our final destination is being in Heaven with our Christ forever! All our decisions need to be based on this fact! Jesus said the love of money is the root of all evil. Trust God and not money because money will perish and you with it if it is your God! Pride & Shame Proverbs 11:2

Hebrew translation: “When pride with it’s haughtiness, arrogance, rebelliousness, presumptive will taking authority from God in disobedience then shame comes: but with the lowly is wisdom in knowledge, intelligence, insight and judgment from God as your source.” Comment: The Bible says that the fear of God is the beginning of wisdom! My Bible also says the fool says in his heart there is no God! The belief spectrum ranges from there is no God to there are millions of gods! Pride will always be the first cause of sin! Whether in the Garden of Eden or today in the 21st century pride is the root cause of evil. Remember Jesus humbled Himself even to death on the Cross! The international problems of today are the family problems of today! Pride is simply you making yourself God! You trust in yourself rather than God! How many billions of people get up every morning trying to outsource God? Trying to rob God of His sovereignty? Many say if I were God I would do things this way? But you are not God and neither am I. Let God do His job and you do your job! I learned this in the military! If every member does his or her job and does not try to do someone else’s job victory comes in battle! God owns the whole universe of heaven and earth! We belong to Him! One of God’s job’s was to fix our pride and sin! He made a way through His Son Jesus Christ! Accept His pardon and live for Him! Prayer is the best way to let God do His job! Pride! Isaiah 39:1-2

The Babylonian Ambassadors came to King Hezekiah in Israel to give him gifts  for they had heard he had been sick. Hezekiah showed them all the treasures in the Temple and government treasuries! He gave them a tour of all his stuff! Isaiah inquired after they left and asked the king who were these people and what did they want? After Isaiah learned who they were he warned the King he had made a grave error! He told the King the following generations would be taken captive to Babylon as slaves and all their wealth carried away! Pride before the fall? It is good to give a testimony to people for how God has blessed you! However some will become jealous and try to steal your goods! Sometimes treasures can draw the wrong people into your life! If you have a loyal faithful friend when you were poor they will be faithful when you are rich! Someone like Jesus! Remember Job after he lost it all? Miserable friends! God recovered Job! Prayer Request!

Please be in prayer for our neighbor Lenny here in Atlanta! He has been diagnosed with 3rd stage kidney cancer! He had to resign his job and asked me for advice about renting or selling his house so they could move back to Florida and stay with family there. I shared with him how Jesus healed me from my death bed back in the early 1970’s and that God loves him as much as me or anyone else! We prayed together in our front yard this morning and I asked Lenny to give Jesus a chance before he would try to rent or sell his house! Job Knew! Do You? Job 19:25

“For i know the redeemer of my kinsman is living and He shall stand at the last day on earth.” A redeemer is one who will pay a ransom to free you from death! A day is coming when God will vindicate Himself of all of life’s suffering! Not only was His promise fulfilled in Job in the restoration of all that he had lost but has given us all the same promise for the present and the future for those that put their trust in Him!
