Love of Money! Ecclesiastes 5:11-17

This is what happens to those who love money more than God! The following are the five characteristics of people who are in love with money; 1. The more they have the more they want. 2. The more they have the more they spend. 3. The more they have the more they worry. 4. The more they have the more they lose. 5. The more they have the more they have to leave behind. Pastor David Jeremiah Comment: Solomon was the richest man that has ever lived on the earth! He had 700 hundred wives and 300 concubines or girl friends! If anyone knew the deception of wealth he knew! Learn from him who had it all but in the end he said it was all vanity! That is to no purpose! Jesus said the love of money is the root of all evil. I admire Pastor Jeremiah for his transparency in taking a Biblical stand on money, sex, Heaven and Hell. He is not a politically correct politician in the pulpit! He has my respect! Jesus offended the rich but had compassion on the poor! Judas lost his soul because of a love for money! Jesus told the rich man after he bragged to him how he keeps the law perfectly that he lacked one thing! Give all you have to the poor and come and follow me! But the rich man went away sad because his possessions had him! They owned him! Do not hang on to what you cannot keep! The way to keep money from owning you is to give it away! Worship! Job 1:10-12

Job is one of the most fascinating Books in the Bible! In these passages of scripture God and Satan are having a conversation about Job! Satan is reminding God that He has blessed Job and the work of his hands with wealth! Satan told God that if you take the wealth away Job will curse you and he will be just like me! So God granted Satan power over Job’s wealth and Job lost money and family! My Bible also says God gives us power to get wealth! Satan can only take it away if God gives Satan authority over your wealth! Remember in the Temptation Satan offered Jesus all the Kingdoms of this world if He would just bow down and worship him! We see in verse 20 that after Job lost everything he rent his clothes bowed down to the earth and worshipped God! Worship can never depend on how much we have or do not have! Wealth can drive us away from God just as easily as poverty! A true heart of worship has nothing to do with our circumstances! Jesus on the Cross was the greatest test of this truth! True worship is understanding the sacrifice God has made for us and to sacrifice for other’s as He has done for us! Our final destination is being in Heaven with our Christ forever! All our decisions need to be based on this fact! Jesus said the love of money is the root of all evil. Trust God and not money because money will perish and you with it if it is your God! The Shepherd is Smitten! Isaiah 11:10

700 B.C. , Hebrew Translation; “And on a specific day there shall be a root of Jesse (Lineage of David), shall be an ensign of striking, piercing and wounding for the whole human race and the non-Jews shall seek Him and His rest shall be glorious with honor, majesty, abundance, prosperity and wealth.” Comment: The specific day was on a Cross at Calvary in 33 A.D. Jesus the root of Jesse died on the Cross for the whole human race! In history since 33 A.D. billions of gentiles have come to Christ and trusted Him for their salvation! Heaven has come down to earth in God’s only Son to give our world hope! To live in His presence is a choice with immeasurable benefits! He has given us fullness of joy! Cast all your cares upon Him! Your hope is just one breath away! Confess His name with your mouth to Jesus and He will confess your name to the Father! Your name to be written forever in the Lamb’s Book of Life! Are You a Saint? Philippians 1:1

Thankyou for the promotion! Are the only Saints in New Orleans? The football team there got put on probation and had to pay huge fines for violations of the National Football League Rules! My friend asked me if I thought he would make it to Heaven? Just wondering is not good! I told him that if he did make it he would be on probation for some time! Notice Paul addressed the congregation as “Saints in Jesus Christ!” Apart from Christ there are no Saints! In Him you are one! So by definition what is a Saint? Is it a marble statue in a church or park? No temptation there! According to the Greek a Saint is one who is set apart or consecrated from a common root! If you and I were branches on the same apple tree we would share a common root! We would draw the same nourishment from the same root for life! If we were cut off from that root we would die! As long as we were attached to the same root we would share the same life! So the life that I have is connected to Christ alone! Apart from Him I can do nothing! If I cut myself off from the Tree of Life I will spiritually die! The church cannot save me, the saints cannot save me, the clergy cannot save me and I am disqualified if I trust anyone else other than Jesus Christ! James and Hamsa Sasse. GodWhoisGod.com

God of Mammon! Luke 16:13

The Greek word translates as a comprehensive word used for all kinds of possessions, earnings and gains and is designated for a material value. Jesus said we cannot serve God and Mammon! We cannot have two masters for we will hate the one and love the other! Idol’s are easy to make but hard to abandon! Once entrenched in our soul extraction is very difficult! We are born into a material world! We are material ourselves! Wealth is not evil of itself but Jesus said the love of money is the root of all evil. We can have a misplaced trust in something that will perish! Jesus was trying to get us to focus on eternal values such as your spirit and soul that will never perish but spend eternity in either Heaven or Hell depending on what you with Jesus Christ! You will either worship Jesus or Mammon! Chose Jesus! James and Hamsa Sasse. GodWhoisGod.com

Created? Genesis 1:1

What does the word created mean? If we go back to the Hebrew root word we discover some interesting things! The word means to cut down, select, dispatch and to choose. Wait a minute I thought God was building something when he creates? Yes, however to build an ark you have to cut down a tree. To build a Cross you have to cut down another tree. David used this same word in the Psalm when he asked God to create in me a clean heart! Cut away or cut down the evil within me! Inherent within this word is the meaning to choose. God had to choose to create! Someone or something had to die to bring us gain! The tree for the fire to bring heat! A tree had to die to bring life through judgment! The Tree of Life in the midst of the Garden to us through His death! Christ was not created but pre-existed with the Father and the Holy Spirit. So the Trinity has always existed outside of creation! Yet God chose to enter creation through His Son Jesus Christ to redeem us! God had to cut down Himself so we could comprehend Him through observation of the heavens and the earth! With an observation of ourselves and our world we all recognize we need redemption! Through creation God is exalted above the Heavens! If someone gives you a lemon just cut it down and make lemon juice! Back in the 1960’s my wife Hamsa did baby sitting for a Jewish family while she was in college. Morty told Hamsa that I was fired from my previous job because I was Jewish! So I started my own meat company and now we are millionaires! The world is going to try to cut you down but do not retaliate just let God build you up in His Image! If God had to cut Himself down to build you up why do you not do the same for others? Thankyou.
