Some to everlasting life and some to everlasting judgment! Jesus fulfilled the law by taking our sin and the judgment of death for it on a Cross taking the penalty for us! Jesus sacrificed himself for your benefit! Whether we fall or rise will be based upon what we do with Jesus! Accept his sacrifice or reject it! Salvation or judgment! If you take your own judgment there is no escape! Because he took your judgment he has the exclusive right to judge the living and the dead! Jesus is a sign that shall be spoken against? You would think everyone would be delighted to escape Hell! Why would people gamble with their soul and eternity? Life is short but eternity forever! What was true in the 1st Century is true in the 21st Century! If Jesus was just a myth concocted in the 1st Century why is he so vehemently opposed in the 21st Century? This confirms that Jesus is the way, truth and life and no man comes to the Father but by him! So which group do you belong? The falling or the rising? King Herod made his choice! Judas made his choice! Like Jesus spoke of Judas if you reject the Son of God it would be better you had not been born! Government Shutdown & Roman Empire!
The Fall of the west was the process of decline in the Western Roman Empire in which it failed to enforce it’s own rule! Low taxes helped the aristocracy increase their wealth which equaled or exceeded the revenues of the central government. An Emperor sometimes replenished his treasury by confiscating the estates of the “super-rich”, but in the later period, the resistance of the wealthy to paying taxes is one of the factors contributing to the collapse of the Empire. Law enforcement under constant threat by violence against them! Low taxes always gets more money into the middle class citizens and the aristocracy! Pride! Isaiah 39:1-2
The Babylonian Ambassadors came to King Hezekiah in Israel to give him gifts for they had heard he had been sick. Hezekiah showed them all the treasures in the Temple and government treasuries! He gave them a tour of all his stuff! Isaiah inquired after they left and asked the king who were these people and what did they want? After Isaiah learned who they were he warned the King he had made a grave error! He told the King the following generations would be taken captive to Babylon as slaves and all their wealth carried away! Pride before the fall? It is good to give a testimony to people for how God has blessed you! However some will become jealous and try to steal your goods! Sometimes treasures can draw the wrong people into your life! If you have a loyal faithful friend when you were poor they will be faithful when you are rich! Someone like Jesus! Remember Job after he lost it all? Miserable friends! God recovered Job! Law Verses Grace!
Text; Galatians Chapter 5, Verse 4. This text is often missused to teach that the phrase “fall from grace” means that a person can loose his or her salvation. In the context of the verses one through three Paul is teaching how depending on the law of Moses for salvation makes Christ’s work on the Cross meaningless! Then in verse four, he speaks about those who think they can justify themselves through the law. Because these people chose to obey the law for salvation , they have no room for Jesus Christ and His Grace.The key to understanding the phrase “you are fallen from grace” is seen in the verb(expesate, Srongs 1601), which is better translated from the Greek as, “have fallen.” It does not mean that the Grace of God was evident at one time and then lost. Rather, a person deviates from the truth of grace and chooses justification by law. Grace does have law in it, (Christ on the Cross for our sin), but the law has no grace outside of itself! The law has only penalty which is death. God has given us Grace which is a Gift and He will not take it away! If someone rejects His Gift it will not void His Gift to those who accept it! Western Civilization
James Ussher (1581-1656) Prolific Christian Scholar. This man fixed the date of creation at the night preceding Sunday, October 23, 4004 B.C. If there were 6 literal days of creation then the next day would be Sunday. Why was creation completed in the fall of the year? Perhaps so Adam and Eve would have fruit to eat! It is interesting that the Jewish New Year is on September 29th which is about 3 weeks from Ussher’s prediction! Western Civilization is really about Christian Heritage and contributions made by so many people. Many evil forces are trying to destroy Western Civilization. Evolutionist do not like the Biblical young earth theory because it eliminates the millions of years they need to support their theory! Islam determined to kill Christians and Jews? Public education trying to remove prayer from our young people? The irony is the very one they are trying to destroy is the only one who can save them!
