We are given a vision of worship in Heaven in Revelation Chapter four! After all the imagery of colors and the participants in worship around the Father and our Christ a conclusion is given in verse eleven of this glorious event! There is a key Greek word translated into our English word “Created.” This word confirms the creation story in the Book of Genesis! The conclusion of worship here is the acknowledgement to God and his Christ is that the residents of Heaven were created beings! You may think so what? Big deal! The revelation comes when you look at the second Greek word or the root Greek word the first Greek word is taken from! The two Greek words are the Strong’s # 2936 and # 2932. Strong’s #2932 is the key word! This Greek word means to purchase! We were purchased with a great price! His own blood! God is not a cheap skate to get something for nothing! The worshippers in Heaven were saying you purchased us with a great price! Your own blood! This is why the rejection of Jesus Christ is such a serious offense to God! Your redemption cost him everything and to reject this means separation from God in Hell. If we chose to keep our sin then we pay our own price for our sin! Separation from God forever! Divided We Stand?
I was listening to a lecture by Dinesh D’Souza at a major University here in America! The topic was the threat of Islam to Western Civilization. He covered the history of Islam and the differences between traditional Islam and Radical Islam! After all his analysis he concluded that the biggest threat to America is not external but internal! That is American’s are in disagreement about who we are and our purpose in life! Some believe we have a God given purpose guided by the scriptures of the Bible. Some believe there is no God and men chart their own destiny! Men evolved from nothing and our purpose is only found in ourselves instead of outside of ourselves! This is the battle line that our divisions here in America are based upon! The political parties formed reflect this cultural war! When we look at history all the way back to the beginning of Creation the war has always been between good and evil! Right and wrong! This war goes back even before Creation when Lucifer who became Satan was cast out of Heaven for his rebellion against God! This war continues with each new generation! One day it will be settled with the return of Jesus Christ to judge the living and the dead! Until then we have to make a decision for or against Christ! That decision is crucial to your future! To be popular and offend God is unwise! To please God will bring persecution from the world! However the joy of this personal relationship with Jesus Christ surpasses anything this world could ever offer you! Stay true to your faith and witness God delivering you out of all your troubles! No Deposit! No Return! Acts 1:11
“Which also said, ye men of Galilee, why stand ye gazing up into heaven this same Jesus, which is taken up from you into heaven, shall so come in like manner as ye have seen him go into heaven.” Comment: Do you remember that old Walt Disney movie ‘No Deposit No Return’ produced back in 1976? Two rich kids found out their mother was not coming home for Christmas so she purchased them airline tickets to go stay with their grandfather. She was in Hong Kong working an executive business job and could not get off work! So the kids went to the airport trying to figure out how to get money to buy tickets to Hong Kong? At the airport they met two thieves who took them home to their hideout! When the kids explained to the crooks their problem they told them to demand a ransom to get the money! So the movie, ‘No Deposit No Return’ got its name! God made a deposit into the earth his creation to redeem us from our sin! He invested his only Son Jesus Christ to accomplish this! The deposit of his birth, death and resurrection purchased our freedom from eternal separation from God! Jesus will return one day soon to redeem his deposits he has put into us! The only way people can lose his deposits is to reject his deposits he has made for you! Then no redemption for those that do this! God has purchased your tickets to heaven! God is merciful but if you reject his mercy what is left for you? Then your own sin will condemn you rather than letting God take your sin upon himself! Christ will return for his own so why not be one of his own today! Only God is trustworthy no one else including yourself is! Do not trust in yourself with your eternity! Bethlehem Times Report!
Last night it was reported that some shepherds in the hills above Bethlehem got blind sided by an unusual event! It was like they got hit by the back side of a Roman sword! Bang! Boom! Bong! Someone rang their bell! The shepherds claimed they were just spending another boring night tending to their sheep in the hills just above Bethlehem! They were guarding their smelly sheep from the wolves who wanted a free lunch! They built a fire to keep warm and protect their sheep! The sheep were just about asleep when the light show started! The shepherd’s thought they led an insignificant life until last night! One shepherd reported that he was thinking about years back when his grandma told him to go to school or you will end up a nobody! Now last night he was thankful to be on the lower end of the food chain! Meanwhile about 90 miles away a young couple had started their journey to Bethlehem from Nazareth by donkey’s! The couple’s names were Joseph and Mary. They had to come to Bethlehem because that scum bum Caesar ordered everyone to return to their home towns to pay more taxes! Since Joseph was of the House of David he had to come back to Bethlehem! The Motel’s were overcrowded since the Decree by Caesar! Caesar needed more money for his military expansion! During their 5-8 mile per day journey his wife Mary pondered many things in her heart! Things like I am pregnant yet a virgin! Try to explain that to your family? Then she thought of the Angel Gabriel appearing and explaining the whole event! Then the Holy Spirit dwelling over her! Then her husband Joseph telling her he was going to divorce her and put her away! Then the Angel speaking to Joseph in a dream and explain the whole purpose of her pregnancy! Instructing him to take Mary as his wife! Joseph was worried about Mary for every bump of the donkey ride meant the child may be born early! Where would they stay in Bethlehem? They had little money! Mean while back at the ranch in the hills of Bethlehem the light show was about to start! Night turned into day! The heat from the lights turned the cool 32 degree night temperature up to 80 degree’s! They began to sweat in the sheep skin jackets! Residents of Bethlehem reported seeing UFO’s! The sheep were getting anxious! Then Bam! The choir of Angels! It was a Northern lights show with sound! It was a rock band that shook everything that could move! These shepherds were surrounded by the Host of Heaven! The shepherds bowels reacted to these climatic events! So did the sheep!Global warming on steroids! There was a light in the sky brighter than the sun! A million voices in the choir! Wow! Super Bowl Sunday! For the first time in their lives the shepherds had a crowd following them! Surrounded by the Glories of Heaven! Fear struck the shepherds and the sheep! The end has come! The rapture is here! Guilt began to overcome the shepherds! We should return those sheep we stole from our neighbor! Then the orchestra and choir in Heaven stopped the music! An Angel told the shepherds this night a Savior is born to you in the city of Bethlehem! Go worship him! Wow again! We need to sell some of these sheep to present gifts to this new King! Then the lights dimmed and a star was hanging over Bethlehem! A new star never seen before! The choir is gone and the cold night returns to those hills above Bethlehem! Judah did you see that! Benjamin did you see that! Did you put something in my food? What have we been drinking? Who will believe our story? Caesar might lock us up! Boy’s we got to get down to that manger and see what this is all about! Round up the sheep let us worship this Savior promised to the world by our great prophets! Merry Christmas guy’s! Negative Exposure! Luke 2:34-35
Greek Translation: “And Simeon blessed them, and said unto Mary his mother, behold, this child is laid for a foundation for the fall and the resurrection of the body from the grave of many in Israel; and for a sign which shall be spoken against; (yea, a sword shall pierce through your own soul also): that the thoughts and reasoning of many hearts shall be revealed what was hidden.” Comment: Simeon prepared Mary for many things to come! Even the miracles Jesus would do would be spoken against? Even today many speak against our Christ? The sword would pierce Mary’s own soul as she watched the Crucifixion! Jesus would expose the thoughts of many hearts! Jesus came to expose our sin! Then to save us from our sin! Christmas is all about the Salvation of humanity! Something we could never do on our own! Christmas is a solid case against our guilt and then an unearned acquittal of our guilt! However some like King Herod, Judas and many today thought that by their own efforts they can hide their sin from God! So foolish as to get rid of the only one who could save them! Sin is a strong addiction! It brings out the worst in us! It compliments evil! Confession is difficult because people are in love with themselves but not God! It is all about making yourself God! You decide who lives or dies rather than dying to self and let God live in you! All false religion is about making yourself God! God became a human to make us fit for Heaven! Without Christ no amount of human effort will ever make us fit for Heaven! It will only prepares us for Hell. No one can forgive you except God himself! Just like a negative film it takes light to expose the true image! We were made in the Image of God but only His light can expose and correct the imperfections in our image! What Jesus Wants for Christmas?
Well, it is Jesus birthday so what does he want? Since I was a little child I always was asked what I want for Christmas? The gifts were for me! I though it was all about me! Jesus gave us the greatest gift but what do with it? Do I treat the gifts as precious? Could I give Jesus more of my time? The time is not mine because he created time! Could I give him gold like the wise men? The streets of Heaven are paved with gold and besides the scriptures declare he is more precious than silver or gold! Could I pray more? He is interceding for me right now at the right hand of the Father! Could I love him more? He first loved me! Could I live for him? He gave his life for me! Could I put sinners under his Christmas tree? Could I put the lost souls of this generation under his tree? Could I present worms turned to butterfly’s under his tree? Could I help to populate Heaven and earth with Saints! Forgiven sinners? Only by his power and grace! Can I do anything without Jesus? I can sin and live a selfish life away from him! I can work death instead of life! Because of him I do not have to do that! I think the best thing I can do for Christmas is receive his gift of Salvation and eternal life and share his gift with others! Happy Birthday Jesus! Holy Smoke! 2 Thessalonians 1:8-9
“In flaming fire taking vengeance on them that know not God, and that obey not the Gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ; who shall be punished with everlasting destruction from the presence of the Lord, and from the glory of his power,” Comment: I do not know about you but I would not want to be wood for the fire! Jesus was placed on a wooden Cross and took the fire of hell to save you from the flames! Think about this! God took your hell and gave you heaven! He took your judgment upon himself! He took your sin and gave you forgiveness! What a deal! What fool would turn this down? Sadly most of the world will recognize their error at Christ’s second coming! They will wail and beat their bodies when they witness his second coming! Christ’s body was beaten for you! To reject this is serious! No one will miss Jesus second coming but many have missed his first coming! No one will be able to hide behind their sin anymore! Jesus second coming is not only to rule and reign over the earth for a thousand years but to judge those who have rejected him while living on earth! Christ’s judgment will be socialism on steroids! All those that rejected him will get equal treatment with the same outcome! Hell! Why? Because they rejected the only God who took their judgment upon himself for their sin! The church is not on the earth at this time they are in heaven! Those following Christ at his second coming are the believers following him back to earth! No army can stand against him! Jesus came as a lamb for the sacrifice but his second coming he comes as a lion! You will not be able to vote him out of office! You will not be able to vote another sinner into office to cover your sin! He is King of Kings and Lord of Lord’s! You will stand at the judgment seat of Christ naked with no covering to hide behind! No ideology that opposes him will stand the test of fire! Fire forever! If you have rejected Christ now is the time for you to stop playing the fool! Eternity is forever and this life is very short! If I were playing the lottery game I would buy the forever ticket that keeps me out of hell! If I were wrong about this it would not hurt me one bit! In fact it would help me live a clean life! Sunday Worship! Revelation 1:10
Greek Translation: “I, John was in the spirit when the breath of God blew on me! It was on the Lord’s day! It was Sunday the day and time of life that belongs to Christ! It is his day therefore I submit to my King and Ruler this day! This day is owned by my God!” Comment: Man’s day is in opposition to the Sabbath! Fifty years ago when I was a teenager about 90 percent of all businesses were closed on Sunday! What about today in America? I hear about more and more Christians telling me they have to work on Sunday? If the businesses stay open on Sunday then the employee’s will have to work on Sunday! Where was John in the 1st century when he received this revelation? He was in the Lord’s House on Sunday! Do not expect to hear from God if you forsake the Sabbath! It is like trying to catch a fish by casting your line on a sand dune in the desert! If you want to meet God you need to be where he hangs out! Now John’s church building could have been his prison! Peter and the Apostles spent time in prison but still honored the Sabbath! Turn your prison into a House of worship! If you do not want to be where God is then you may need to repent! If you resist Christ’s church here on earth you are also resisting him in Heaven! The separation from Christ begins here on earth and continues resisting Heaven! In American culture work has become the agent of resistance to Christ and Sunday worship! Most people move away from Christ gradually taking many little steps!
