Why do Righteous Suffer? 1 Peter 3:14

“But and if you suffer for righteousness sake, happy are you; and be not afraid of their terror, neither be troubled.” Comment: First we need to take a careful look at the word “Righteousness”. In the Greek it is Strong’s #1343. Righteousness or justice is an adopted claim to a higher authority! It recognizes God’s claim on us! Because he has claimed us we can claim him! Insurance does you no good unless you file a claim! If you do not file a claim you will never receive the benefits! When we study and believe the Word of God everyday we make claims on his promises to us! Through everyday study of your Bible you claim your rights and file your claim! You might call this the covenant! We claim a higher authority to self! Our standard is to adopt God’s claim on us! We belong to him! Righteousness is the state commanded by God standing the test of his judgment! It is conformity to all he commands of us! True righteousness belongs to God! The righteousness of God is the right God has upon all his creation! Righteousness is a gift from God! Righteousness is recognized by man in acceptance of God through faith! Righteousness by law can only be applied to God for he has never broken the law! Men have broken the law and trying to keep the law by their own efforts oppose the righteousness of God! God is the law giver to show us we can never be righteous on our own! Christ fulfilled the law because he was more than a man he was God! He was God in the flesh! Christ took the penalty of death for our sin of breaking the law to the Cross! Our righteousness now rests in him! Our expression of his love is executed on others! The righteous are persecuted because of the first sin which was pride! In the Garden of Eden our first parents were tempted by Satan with pride! Did God really say? You know more than God! I am giving you a higher education! Your knowledge will exceed God’s thanks to me! You were born a male you can be a female! You are a female you can become a male! You can do what God cannot do! You can sin! Sin is about trusting ourselves over God! Then the law becomes our judge with no redemption! We suffer because we do not trust ourselves in our own efforts as the world does! We trust in God’s character and not in men! The world hates the truth because it would mean submitting themselves to the righteousness of God! They could no longer make themselves God! Their only temporal sigh of relief is to persecute the followers of Christ! Their faith is in themselves and in conflict with the faith of God! Finally the word “happy” used in the Greek is Strong’s#3107. It means blessed possessing the character of God! When Jesus ascended to his Father in Heaven he promised us to send his Holy Spirit to keep us until his second coming! His adopting us who were once orphans in sin from the Commonwealth of Israel blesses us with no greater happiness! All of life is a struggle for acceptance living in a world of rejection!Many   sin for acceptance! When we receive the righteousness of God and his acceptance there is no greater joy! Biblical versus Civil Law!

But hereof be assured, that all is not lawful nor just that is statute by civil laws: neither yet is everything sin before God, which ungodly persons allege to be treason. John Knox (1514-1572)  Comment: No one could probably understand this better than the Colorado Bake shop owner who was fined hundreds of thousands of dollars for refusing to bake a cake for a gay couple! Then after a Supreme Court victory is still being harassed by Colorado State government? This is another ungodly civil law that when passed into statute the ungodly go after the Godly with harassment, threats of violence and civil court actions! John Knox also experienced this first hand as one of the leaders of the Reformation as Queen Bloody Mary of England took him to task! No history is new with man but just repeats itself! This is why God’s only Son Jesus Christ had to make a one way trip to the Cross for our sin! Many civil laws such as slavery, Jim Crow and others were at one time civil statute in our nation! Through a costly civil war the tide was turned! All civil laws that oppose the scriptures will be eventually overturned like abortion but often it comes with a great price! Case Against Abortion Jeremiah 1:5

Hebrew Translation: “Before I formed you in the belly I intimately and personally knew you with your distinction between right and wrong. Before you came forth out of the womb I sanctified and morally consecrated you to me. I ordained you a Prophet possessing you with my Divine Spirit. A Prophet unto the non-Jewish (Gentile) nations.” Comment: Notice the non-Jewish nations (Gentiles)? The Jews rejected the message from God through Jeremiah and went into Babylonian captivity for 70 years! We could make a case here that we have a known existence by God before we were physically born into the earth! We were created in the Image of God! But before our birth? Jesus said we must be born again! We know the Trinity pre-existed creation! They were the cause of creation! However I do not support reincarnation! What the Hindus believe. So why would anyone one want to prevent a child from being born? Why at the birth of Jesus in Bethlehem did Herod order the slaying of all children 2 years old and under in the city trying to kill Jesus? Jesus said do not suffer or prevent the children from coming to me for such is the Kingdom of God! Today in America 500 children are murdered by their parents each year! Why over 57 million babies murdered in America since 1973? We have a missing generation of people! What political party would support this genocide? Why would our tax money be used to support the killings? Why would the Democratic Party be attractive to anyone? Because the Democratic Party has always supported immorality! Because it appeals to the sin of man! Whether it be slavery, Jim Crow laws, welfare, gambling, socialism, open borders, sanctuary cities for criminals or anti-law enforcement they have found a following of about 1/2 the U.S. population! Don’t work for a living! Live off the State! Protect illegal immigrants at a cost to their citizens! Government health care! State ownership of everything! The deep State control of every aspect of your life! State worship! Promoting the failed ideologies of Marx, Engels, Lenin and others! If we as Christian’s here in America want to maintain the control of our Constitutional liberties and the implementation of Biblical values then we have to take voting seriously! Support President Trump and those who value Biblical values! Kind of funny but a candidate who is running for office down here in Georgia said she supports both Republican and Democratic voters? It Was Fun! Luke 6:22-23

These were the words of Tom Brady quarterback of the New England Patriots at the end of his interview last night after their Sunday night football game win over the Pittsburg Steelers! This game was really a hard fought battle with both teams having to send players to the hospital during the game! Hopefully not with career ending injuries! Brady himself was body slammed to the ground by 300 pound plus linemen! So what was fun? Was it the pain, injuries, training or uncertainty of every game? Was it the risk of a career ending injury or death? It was the winning! The sacrifices are then forgotten! Do we have the child like excitement about Christmas? About giving? About receiving? Is it fun? In Luke chapter six Jesus is well past the manger scene! He is preparing his players for the game ahead! Jesus told His 12 players that they are going to hate you, isolate you, reproach you and call you evil because of me! Like NFL players they are going to sack you! But Jesus said to rejoice in that day! Leap for joy! You guys just won the Super Bowl! Your reward is great in Heaven! Your fathers the prophets suffered the same things! We do not like to think about suffering during the Christmas season! Yet that is why He came! To suffer for us! To make our lives fun and meaningful with purpose! To win! Losers made winners! The victory parade for you is going on in Heaven right now! While running your race sometimes the pain seems unbearable! Give your pain to Jesus! He became a curse for you! He took your pain upon Himself! We are on the same team! Jesus disciples except John all crossed the finish line with martyrdom! John was boiled in oil and then exiled to a stone quarry for slaves on the island of Patmos! They all looked beyond the finish line towards the goal and their and your victory in Christ! Those that have gone before us have prepared a way for us! Give a sacrificial gift to someone this Christmas as we were given the gift of a little baby boy born in a manger in Bethlehem! Do The Righteous Suffer With The Wicked? Isaiah 6:10-13

Absolutely! Even one step further they suffer for the wicked! Jesus on the Cross for us is the best example! How about Moses in Egypt? Isaiah was frustrated! He asked the Lord how long shall I preach to a people who have a fat heart, heavy ears, blind eyes and a heart that does not understand? The Lord answered and said, “Until their cities be wasted without an inhabitant, and their houses without men and the land utterly destroyed.” The Lord removed them to a far place (Babylon). After 70 years the Lord said ten percent would return as a Holy Seed! If you could get an accurate account of how many Christians today faithfully give their tithe to the work of the Church most Pastors would probably say about ten percent! It has been said that if every Christian would tithe their income and not rob God there would be enough funds to Evangelize the world in about 30 days! However most cannot even trust God with 10 percent of their income yet the same people claim they are going to trust God with their eternity? Someone is blowing smoke here? Jesus and John both quoted Isaiah 6:10, explaining that the 1st Century Jews were no different than the Jews living in Isaiah’s day 800 years earlier! Remember as Jesus predicted the Romans destroyed their Temple in 70 A.D. and carted off all the wealth of the Temple and burned Jerusalem and carted off one hundred thousand Jewish slaves to build the Roman Coliseum! Then the Christians were martyred in the Coliseum for the next 300 years! Is the 21st Century Church any different from the Jews in 1st Century Palestine? Are you a 10 percenter? Real Prophets Suffer! 1 Kings Chapter 17

Elijah lived in a great day of Apostasy in Israel. King Ahab and Jezebel were Baal worshipers! The centerpiece of Baal worship was child sacrifice! Much like abortion in America today! However Elijah did not have a 501c tax exemption! He spoke some prophetic words over Ahab and Jezebel that were not nice! Like the dogs will lick your blood and there will not be enough left of you to bury! However Elijah started off with a drought predicted for the King! How would the 21st century prophets respond to Ahab and abortion? Maybe something like this? Ahab you are going to be rich and wealthy! Prosperity will be everywhere you look! You will be blessed, successful and famous! Peace will dominate your realm! Your lovely wife Jezebel is such a blessing to us! Ahab our ministry is growing everyday and a suggested donation of 30 pieces of silver would grant you God’s favor and we would pray for you! Elijah stuck with God’s word and Ahab sent his army after him! God sent Elijah to a remote area where a small stream provided water! This brook drained into the Jordan River. Then God set up a bird feeder for him! I might have complained here? Ravens are scavengers and are road kill specialists! The prophetic word that caused the drought caused the small stream to dry up! So God sent him to a widom and her son for supplies? She warmly received him and told him they have enough supplies for one meal then we can all die! Elijah told her the provisions would last through the drought! Then the widow’s son gets sick and dies? The widow blames Elijah for his death? I would have lost it here! You no good low down and i cannot finish the sentence here! Elijah keeps his cool and focuses on the real problem the dead son! Elijah raises the son from the dead! So what was the widow’s testimony? “Now i know you are a man of God and that the word of God is in your mouth and that it is truth!” Elijah and Moses with Jesus stood at the Mount of Transfiguration! Elijah was taken up to Heaven and did not physically die! At the Mount Elijah represented the Prophets. Moses the law and Jesus the Prophet, Priest and King! What is Wrong with a Tattoo? Leviticus 19:28

The Bible says not to cut yourself or make a print on your body! Why? Well, just because God says not to do it is not good enough for me! Really? God is not going to tell me what to do! I am going to be my own God and decide what to do! Sound familiar? Are we talking about you again? We live in a world at war with God! There was a popular song back in the 1960’s titled, “I fought the law and the law won!” My mother back in the 1960’s used to ask me and my brother Tommy why we never brought home any homework from school? We told her we were too smart to study! Tommy and I should be grading the teachers! Mom said if that is true then how come your grades are so sick? Mom those teachers are so dumb they could not recognize talent even if it bit them! Me and Tommy had homeless homework! God said my people perish for a lack of knowledge! When Tommy and I got our grade reports the law won! God simply gave us the law so that we recognize that we need a Savior! God has only one who is worthy to carry marks on His body! Those prints and cuttings were placed on His body by all of us at the Cross! Even Jesus disciple Thomas after the Cross said I will not believe unless I see the nail prints in His hands! Unless I see and feel the scars of his pierced side! We only carry our own scars because we reject the marks taken for us by Jesus on the Cross! You can make your own marks but it will never save you! All of the pain and suffering was reserved for only one Jesus Christ the Son of the living God! You may mark your body but it is impossible for you to carry the sin of the world! If you have already marked your body then think of the Cross when you look on your marks of sin! Thankyou. Christian Martyrdom Doubled in 2013, Persecution Growing!

The number of Christians murdered for their faith almost doubled in 2013 over the previous year, according to an annual survey by Open Doors, a non-denominational ministry that monitors the persecution of believers and supports persecuted Christians worldwide. Hardline Islamist regimes and Islamic terrorists—many funded by the Obama administration and other western governments—were behind most of the slaughter. However, for the 12th year in a row, the autocracy lording over North Korea was ranked as the number one persecutor of Christians in the world. According to the organization’s findings in it’s open doors World Watch List, released last week. Christians are still by far the most persecuted demographic on earth–and the trends are getting worse. In 2012, the group’s annual report documented the martyrdom of more than 1200 Christian’s. Last year there were more than that martyred just in Syria, where the Obama administration and a coalition of it’s allies–mostly European governments and Sunni Arab dictators–have been arming and funding jihadist rebel groups. Overall, the report documented 2123 murders of Christians for their faith in 2013. An estimated 100 million believers in Christ, meanwhile, still suffer from ruthless persecution around the globe, Open Doors has found. Among the other atrocities carried out against Christians for their faith; imprisonment, torture, rape, execution, forced labor, and more. Christians are persecuted in more than 65 countries around the world, with a vast majority in Africa and Asia–and especially in the middle east, where Islamist rulers often purport to make faith in Christ a crime. U.S. Military Members Suffer For Our Freedom!

It is good to be living in a military community in the Colorado Springs area! Even though I served 13 years in the military I am guilty of forgetting those who have and are serving today. I have a neighbor Rob who I have come to know over past 9 months since moving to the area here. He was slow to warm up to me but when I offered to help him and saw me wearing my old camo-fatigues he was delighted. We have become good friends and I have invited him to some of our church services. I have shared some of my military experiences with him but Rob was subdued about his? One day about a month ago Rob opened up to me. Rob got a medical discharge from the Army. Here is how it happened. Rob deployed to Saudi Arabia with the Army for a short term working with the Saudi military joint exercise. Near the end of his deployment the Saudi military asked his commander if they could recover a Saudi military vehicle in a remote area of Saudi Arabia? The American Army commander complied and sent Rob and four other service members to recover the vehicle. Rob noticed when they got to the area this local village looked like a ghost town? No people? So they recovered the vehicle and brought it back to the Saudi military base. Within one week of recovering this vehicle Rob’s comrades all died! Rob went to a military hospital for two years! What happened? The Saudi military used this vehicle in a chemical attack on this remote village! Evidently this village was rebelling against the King so they got the gas. Rob even today has to take anti-anxiety medicine. Rob holds a part time job in the community. Here is the beautiful part of this story. I shared with Rob that due to my four back surgeries I cannot shovel the snow off our driveway. So everytime it snows Rob shovels my driveway! I have told him many times you do not have to do this! Rob simply says,”I always look for an opportunity to serve others!” Rob is still serving his nation and me! This is the Spirit of America that no enemy will ever defeat! Thankyou.
