Yearning for Salvation? Job 7:21
Hebrew Translation:” And why has thy not taken away my predetermined rebellion and revolt and passed over or crossed over my criminal acts.” Comment: After Job had lost everything except his life this was his last question to God! Remember Job was a righteous man and hated evil! God had prospered Job with much wealth and a good family and good health! Then Satan that old serpent came along and challenged God to test Job for he told God Job will curse you if you pull all his blessings away! The challenge was on! After Job lost all his wealth and family only one question was left in Job’s mind? God why have you not forgiven my sin? Job lived during the Patriarchs probably around 600 B.C. It would be hundreds of years before Christ would be incarnated into the human race! Job was pleading for the Savior! Job believed all his trouble had everything to do with his sin! He had done everything right before God yet still had great troubles in his life? However the source of his trouble was Satan! So we face the same foe today! However Satan was defeated at the Cross of Calvary! If you do not recognize your enemy he will destroy you! If you do not arm yourself with the Blood of Christ there is none who can stand against him! The trouble in America today is the teaching of evolution to our children with the atheist foundation and they have no defense against Satan and he is shredding our culture to pieces! If you deny God you will also deny Satan! This is the most deadly decision you can make in life! Some people blame God and not Satan for their troubles! One day when you lose all your health and wealth you will ask the same question Job did! Our success sometimes can keep us from asking the most important question in life! But why wait until you are at the end of yourself? God’s reply to Job and to you and me is His Son Jesus Christ! Job needed a Savior and so do you! Do not wait until it is too late! Medal of Honor! John 15:13
I have watched some video’s of American Medal of Honor Winners from WWII, Korea, Vietnam, Afghanistan and Iraq. As I watched these I began to see a pattern in the lives of these brave men! Their love for their comrades on the battlefield led them to take very heroic actions in combat! One particular Vietnam Veteran really got my attention! When they were in the midst of a battle a Viet Cong soldier through a grenade into the midst of his army platoon! When he saw the grenade he said it was like being frozen in time! What to do? He took his steel helmet off his head threw it over the grenade and then threw his body on top of his helmet! The grenade exploded under his helmet tearing his stomach open and filling his body with shrapnel! He said his intestines were laying outside of his body on the ground! Another soldier came along and put his guts back in his stomach and taped his stomach closed with ribbons torn from his uniform! Another soldier came along and drug his body away from the fire fight so the medics and the helicopters could get him to a field hospital. He said we never left the dead or wounded for the enemy! His recovery took years at a Veteran’s Hospital. He said the hardest thing for him in this hospital was to see the young men come in from Vietnam and die in the hospital with no family around them! After his recovery he tried to go back to college but the protesting college students would mock him for going to war for his country so he left school. The other veteran’s also said that the love for each other is what kept them going and bonded them together! It was not the politics of the war or political parties that mattered to them! They had to look out for each other! That is what a family does for each other! Jesus said there is no greater love than for a man to lay down his life for his brother! Why did Jesus go to the Cross? His love for His Father! Only He could pacify the anger His Father had for His Creation! Remember Jesus words on the Cross? Father forgive them! Why have you forsaken me? The Vietnam Veteran’s even today feel forsaken by their country! But their love for each other bonds them together! We the people are free from foreign aggression because of their love for each other! Likewise we are benefited by God’s love in particular with Jesus love for His Father in being obedient even to the death on a Cross for our sin! Today Jesus position in Heaven is not by accident! He is seated at the right hand of the Father because of His love for His Father! None of us will even sit closer to the Father than the Son! Jesus is returning soon back to the earth to complete His love for the Father and for you! Jesus went into combat for you! He lives for you and died for you and rose from the dead for you and His love of the Father is also expressed to you! Love is manifested in relationship! We cannot love God if not in relationship to Him! You could never sacrifice your life on the battlefield unless in relationship to other soldiers of your Nation suffering the same combat! Infinite Versus Finite! Isaiah 46:10
“Declaring and bringing forward the end or future rewards from the beginning or first with regard to order, rank and time; from the ancient times or front of place that are not yet done, saying, my counsel or wisdom and advice shall stand and I will accomplish my delightful pleasure with affection.” Comment: The word end used here in Hebrew means future rewards! Like the resurrection from the dead! The word beginning in the Hebrew also has a fascinating meaning! It means first in order, rank and time! This same Hebrew word is the first word used in the Bible recorded in Genesis 1:1. In the beginning God created…… God expressed His character here in creation! The words ancient times means the position of the front of a place that is not yet done! Then God said my counsel, wisdom and advice will be accomplished with affection! Remember what Jesus said? I am the first and the last! The Alpha and the Omega! Jesus said He was before the beginning! Jesus always was and always will be! He is eternal. Remember in the beginning was the Word? He was before creation! What was His pleasure with affection! The birth of His Son Jesus Christ into the earth! What was God’s affection! To redeem His creation from sin! Whether you recognize it or not your future is in God’s hands! He placed His hands on a Cross for you! Could you not fold your hands in prayer to Him? Why not begin with Him and end with Him! Looking Forward! 1 Esdras 5:38-39
When the Jews returned from Babylon captivity by the favorable Decree of the Persian King Cyrus they met many challenges to rebuilding the Temple in Jerusalem! Here is a quote from verses 38-39. “Since they were unable to prove their ancestry, they were not allowed to function as Priest’s. Nehemiah the governor told them that they could not eat food offered to God until there was a High Priest who could use Revelation and Truth.” Comment: Ancestry was everything to the Jews! Tradition was the foundation of their life and worship! If you could not prove your ancestry as many Jews could not after returning from 70 years of Babylonian captivity you could not participate in Temple worship! Noah, Abraham, Isaac, Jacob and Moses were in the Religious Hall of Fame! Rightly so! Jesus really threw the religious Jews a curve ball when He told them they must be born again! Jesus the High Priest with Revelation and Truth was looking them in the face but they did not get it? The religious leaders seemed blind? Yet the simple Jews such as Peter saw the light! How far does Jesus ancestry go back in time? All the way back to the Garden of Eden with Adam and Eve! Remember the Tree of Life in the Garden? His humanity took their sin and fast forwarded it to you and me! His Divinity delivered you and me from sin! His humanity was sacrificed for you and me! Jesus was a Jew and of the tribe of Judah! That is prophetic! Ancestry.com should be renamed Death.com! Why were the Persian Kings (Iran), favorable to the Jews? The 3 wise men were from Persia! King Cyrus and Darius were favorable to the Jews! Why? God spoke to them! Why is present day Persia (Iran), not favorable to the Jews but want to destroy them? Very simple! Islam that came along in 650 A.D. Islam has given all of its followers a religious backing to kill. The Persians also invented the crucifixion so they prepared the method for the sacrifice for Jesus! Let us look forward! Is your name written down in the Book of Life? (Revelation 3:5) Are you born again? Washed in His blood? Jesus promised us to go prepare a place for us! The shepherds got the hell scared out of them when the angel appeared to them in the middle of the night on a lonely hillside while tending their sheep! When the Holy smoke cleared out of their campsite from the lightening bolts they bowed their faces to the ground expecting to be incinerated! The sheep headed for the hills. The laser light show was on full display! All bowel constipation disorders were miraculously healed! The angel told them to chill out! You cool cats need to cool down! Relax! Good news guys! This is not the end of the world! Their hopes were somewhat dashed! I want you guys to hit the trail back to Bethlehem! There is a new guy just born in Bethlehem! His first name is Jesus and his last name is Christ! I have heard you use his name sometimes when you talk to your sheep! This is the real deal dudes! You sheep dogs are highly favored this night! None of the smart people in your neighborhood know about this! He is born to you this night as your SAVIOR! He will save you from yourselves! He is your SAVIOR at his birth, at the Cross, at the resurrection, at his ascension and when he comes back to earth the second time! He will be your SAVIOR forever! He will send you the Holy Ghost! The Way of the Cross! Isaiah 35:8
Hebrew Translation: “And a highway shall be there and a way of life with the behavior of men, and it shall be called, cried out and preached to a name. The way of life is holiness, set apart sacred and dedicated; the unclean, polluted and defiled shall not pass or cross over it; but it shall be for those; the wayfaring wondering to and fro men, though fools, shall not stagger or go astray therein.” Comment: This is a fascinating scripture! The unclean, polluted and defiled shall not pass over to it yet there shall be a way for the wayfaring, stumbling running to and fro fools! So the bums, fools and staggering wanderers will not go astray but find cleanliness and redemption! So who cleans them up? The lost people who recognize they need a savior and cannot save themselves but trust in their God for Salvation cross over into eternal life! The other group who trust in themselves, their title and position in life through human achievements and their own efforts will not cross over into eternal life! Will a Snake Bite Twice? Isaiah 26:10
Verse 10; Let favor with mercy and kindness be shown to the wicked who are haters of God and men yet they will not learn righteousness but act wickedly and will not behold with learning and understanding the Majesty of God.” Comment: To the righteous everything is righteous and to the wicked everything is wicked! This describes two very different state of minds! The righteous can accept and do righteousness but the wicked cannot! The three wise men shared the good news about the King of the Jews being born but Herod could not accept it! Why? The wicked mind cannot receive anything good! Herod felt threatened that his power and authority would be taken away so he tried to kill the child! So innocent babies were thrust thru with the sword in Bethlehem! Abortion thru executive order! This explains why salvation will not be accepted by everyone! Even God’s motives are questioned! This is what happens when you make yourself God! The rejection of God can be as simple as saying Happy Holiday instead of Merry Christmas! It can be as serious as President Obama ordering the IRS to audit Christian conservatives tax records! Today we have a Christian and Jewish friendly President Trump! The anger focused on Him has to do with his Christian Faith and the support of Christian values! The battle between good and evil rages on through every generation! Which team are you on? Our job and commission is to take the Good News into every culture and every nation understanding not all will accept God’s Mercy! You plant the seeds and let God sort this out! Remember Paul? Remember the thief on the Cross? Then Lord remember me! At one time opposed to Christ and all that He is! Now today a crusader for Christ living with no other purpose but to spread the Good News and the favor of God to men! 700 B.C. , Hebrew Translation; “And on a specific day there shall be a root of Jesse (Lineage of David), shall be an ensign of striking, piercing and wounding for the whole human race and the non-Jews shall seek Him and His rest shall be glorious with honor, majesty, abundance, prosperity and wealth.” Comment: The specific day was on a Cross at Calvary in 33 A.D. Jesus the root of Jesse died on the Cross for the whole human race! In history since 33 A.D. billions of gentiles have come to Christ and trusted Him for their salvation! Heaven has come down to earth in God’s only Son to give our world hope! To live in His presence is a choice with immeasurable benefits! He has given us fullness of joy! Cast all your cares upon Him! Your hope is just one breath away! Confess His name with your mouth to Jesus and He will confess your name to the Father! Your name to be written forever in the Lamb’s Book of Life!
