Protesting the Gun that Won the West?
Why protest the gun instead of the criminals that use the gun to kill people? If they did not have guns they would use swords or knives! The poor gun gets bad press! Like blaming the cannibal’s teeth for his appetite for human flesh! So what do I do to protest the gun protest? I tune into MeTV and watch another episode of Gun Smoke! James
Do Not Touch Me! John 20:17
Sounds like my old girl friend! This statement Jesus made is different in the Greek rendition than we have in the English! Here are some notes from the Greek notation in my Bible. The verb “hipton”, the present imperative of hipto(681), should be translated, “do not continue to touch me.” It is “do not touch me” in the commonly translated and should have been translated if this verb had been in the aorist imperative, hapsou. So does it matter? It means Mary has already touched Him! I think anyone would have to want to touch Jesus after his Resurrection with the human curiosity of is this the real deal? Remember Thomas later in this chapter would not believe until he touched Jesus and felt the scars of His Crucifixion! In regards to the four pillars of redemption which includes Jesus birth, death, resurrection and ascension Jesus even though human fingerprints were all over the first three pillars did not want human influence on Him after the resurrection before His ascension! The Greek word touch means to intentionally touch to modify with influence on! God wants to modify our behavior but God wants no human influence on Him! We are not going to take this flesh we are living in to Heaven! The only thing that influenced my behavior away from God is my flesh! We leave it the grave for a reason! After Jesus resurrection He walked through a closed door to see His disciples! No physical limitations of the flesh! Jesus has transformed my life but death will finish the job! We cannot enter Heaven in this flesh so we have to be transformed from the worm to the butterfly! We do not die without a purpose! We live with purpose in Christ and we die with purpose in Christ! Easter Commentaries Luke 23:43
“And Jesus said unto him, Verily I say unto thee. Today thou shalt be with me in paradise.” Comment: So where is paradise? The Greek word means Eden, the future place of happiness! The Hebrew equivalent means a forest or fruit orchard. So the word paradise describes the Garden of Eden! Remember when Adam and Eve sinned against God they were cast out of the Garden of Eden! Then an Angel with a flaming sword was placed at the east entrance not allowing any human to eat of the Tree of Life! We know that sin and Eternal Life cannot co-exist together! Everyone will chose one but without the other! Only Jesus could make this promise to the thief on the Cross because Jesus was the Tree of Life! He was hung on a Cross to provide you an entrance back into the Garden of Eden for an eternity! A garden with no sin because of His sacrifice for our sin on the Cross! The entrance fee has been paid with His own blood! Adam and Eve sacrificed animals in the Garden to try to cover their sin! But the blood of animals was not enough! The blood of God’s only Son was the only blood that would atone for our sin! The thief on the Cross might have been the first human to re-enter the Garden of Eden! James and Hamsa Sasse. Did God really make man out of the dust of the earth? I did a little research! Ninety nine percent of the human body consist of six elements. Oxygen, carbon, hydrogen, nitrogen, calcium and phosphorus. There are 18 other elements in the remaining one percent sometimes known as trace elements. Guess what? All the elements in the human body are found in the dust of the earth! They are in different proportions but are all present! Here is another interesting find! All the elements in the human body and in the dust of the earth are present in the dust of the moon! Again in different proportions but all present! This is another fact that supports the Genesis 1:1 narrative! Not only is our solar system the same age but consists of the same elements! When the plants and tree’s draw these elements out of the soil into produce and fruits we consume them and they replenish our bodies! Incarnation in You! John 3:5-8
Here is the definition of the word “Incarnation”, from the Merrian-Webster Dictionary: “The embodiment of a Deity or Spirit in some earthly form; the union of divinity with humanity in Jesus Christ.” Comment: Jesus told Nicodemus he must be born again! After you accept Jesus Christ as your Savior your sin is forgiven then you have a born again experience with God! Now His Spirit rules you rather than the flesh! The Holy Spirit becomes incarnated in you! You then follow Him as He leads you into righteousness! Those that reject Christ receive another Spirit that controls them and leads them away from God! Satan rules their life to destroy them! Jesus came to save us! No one can ignore or escape the incarnation! What Spirit incarnates you has everything to do with what you do with Jesus Christ! Life or death? Judas Iscariot would be one example of what happens when you reject Jesus Christ! Is Jesus Still Incarnated?
Absolutely! As we approach Christmas let us remember Jesus Christ born of a virgin, crucified for our sin, raised from the dead and now seated at the right hand of His Father in Heaven is still in His incarnated estate and always will be! When He returns to earth at His second coming in His incarnated estate He will be God and man! If Jesus were to lose His divinity or humanity we would all die in our sin! As God He fulfills all righteousness and as human He delivers us from our unrighteousness and sin! The Angels in Heaven are still celebrating His virgin birth as we are on earth! Our birthdays have or will fade into human history as Jesus said we must be born again! That birthday will be celebrated forever! 700 B.C. , Hebrew Translation; “And on a specific day there shall be a root of Jesse (Lineage of David), shall be an ensign of striking, piercing and wounding for the whole human race and the non-Jews shall seek Him and His rest shall be glorious with honor, majesty, abundance, prosperity and wealth.” Comment: The specific day was on a Cross at Calvary in 33 A.D. Jesus the root of Jesse died on the Cross for the whole human race! In history since 33 A.D. billions of gentiles have come to Christ and trusted Him for their salvation! Heaven has come down to earth in God’s only Son to give our world hope! To live in His presence is a choice with immeasurable benefits! He has given us fullness of joy! Cast all your cares upon Him! Your hope is just one breath away! Confess His name with your mouth to Jesus and He will confess your name to the Father! Your name to be written forever in the Lamb’s Book of Life! Is Jesus God? Philippians 2:6-8
Jesus while He was here on earth positively laid claim to Deity is clear from the fact that the Jews reproached Him with two accusations: first. that He place God on par with Himself—and this they called blasphemy, secondly, that He made Himself God—and in this they thought they recognized the false prophet, although both idea’s merged together in John 10:30-39. Remember our Lord Jesus Christ being the Son of God did not and could not claim to be the Father but He did claim to be God! Even a human cannot claim to be his father but can claim to be a human being. A claim to the sameness of nature of personality in like manner is consistent and intelligible in the case of Divine Sonship of the Son of God but the sameness of personality would be contradictory! But there is a similarity of persons that it would be true that those who saw the Son have seen the Father! Also remember that the Trinity is one Spirit and character and not many personalities! Christ’s distinction had everything to do with His mission here on earth as Redeemer of mankind! Christ is not half man and half God! He is wholly man and wholly God! Jesus prayed because He is a man! God does not pray! God answers prayers through His Son Jesus Christ! If God were to pray who would He pray to? Himself? What is Jesus doing in Heaven right now? He is interceding for the Saints in prayer to the Father! Jesus still has a human nature in Heaven and so will we! We will not be floating on a cloud as a bodiless Spirit! You mean I get stuck with my ugly face for eternity? Do not jump over the cliff yet! Our human bodies are created by God! Male and female! Sin has marred us! God has a fix for our sin through Jesus where death no longer rules us! Your God given identity will not change! Jesus is a man in Heaven as He was on earth! Mary the mother of Jesus is still a female right now in Heaven! You will be much greater in Heaven because sin will no longer influence your decisions! You will live more like you are in Heaven while on earth because Jesus has redeemed you through His Blood!
