What Does Heaven Look Like? Revelation Chapter 4

Revelation 4:1 “After this I looked, and behold, a door was opened up in heaven; and the first voice was like a trumpet talking with me, which said, come up hither; and I will show you things which must be hereafter.” Commentary” Revelation chapter four is not the only place heaven is described in your Bible but a beautiful show here! Verse one is an introduction! A trumpet is used to announce a King! It is also used to announce judgments as in the 7 plagues upon the earth found in this same Book of Revelation! John is invited to heaven! Some of his reward for suffering under Caesar! What is the hereafter? Heaven and also the end times signs! Remember the Feast of the Trumpet in the Old Testament? The end times will bring the end of human rule and the absolute rule of Christ on earth after his second coming! History has shown us the rule of men has not gone well! Plagues! Wars! Famines! Death! Destruction! Persecutions of God’s elect! We can either trust God or man! Man will betray you but not God! He is faithful to deliver you out of all your troubles! When we are wounded by the sin of men we better understand the wounds taken on by Christ at the Cross for our sin! He was wounded for our transgressions! When these wounds were given to Christ for us he can promote us into his Kingdom! Forgive and love your enemies! Wounds inflicted by ourselves and others humble us! The Apostle John wrote the Book of Revelation while in prison! A prisoner on a remote Isle of Patmos working as a slave laborer in a stone quarry! He was placed on a rock pile! His night job was writing the Book of Revelation! John by vision was able to look into the future! We must do the same when the present days are so perplexing! God holds your future! Jesus said I go to prepare a place for you and I am coming again! There is a purpose in suffering! The Kingdom of God is a sacrificial system beginning with the suffering of God on a Cross for you! Either God or sin will control you! You can reject your sin and choose Christ or you can reject Christ and miss heaven defaulting to hell! It is up to you! Your future depends on one choice! What Did Jesus Mean Here? Revelation 1:8

“I am [Alpha] and [Omega], the [beginning] and the [ending], saith the Lord, which is, and was, and is to come, the [Almighty].” Commentary: Alpha is the first letter of the Greek alphabet. However not like our English word “A”, it means something all by itself! That is it can stand alone! Alpha means a private relationship with a sense of union! That is Jesus relationship to his Father and his union with the Trinity! Omega is the last letter in the Greek Alphabet! Like our English letter “Z”. Omega carries the connotation of a finality! What did Jesus mean by saying he is the “Beginning”? This word means the first to rule! He is the outer most point of the beginning! Jesus is the cause of creation! He is before all things and all things were created by him! Just a side note what was the ideology of the 19th Century that opposes Christ and his creation? The Charles Darwin Theory of Evolution which is alive and well in American education today! Doctrines of Devils! Jesus rules with power and authority! All earthly powers will ultimately fail! Jesus is the first to rule by the authority and creative powers of God himself! Jesus was crucified because he claimed to be God! Now let us look at the word “Ending”. This word does not mean the termination of time. Time is used and established by God to achieve his purpose and goals! It is the consummation of the war between good and evil with victory over death, hell and the grave through his Son Jesus Christ! So the ending is for the purposes of time not the termination of time! Our true purpose is only found in Christ! As our relationship to Christ as Jesus relationship to his Father! To the Trinity! Our human ending is consumed at death! Jesus will raise all from the dead! If our purpose while living is found in him then that relationship continues on after death forever! Jesus enemies though they could end his life at his death on the Cross! Not so! They learned he was more than human he was God! Time will confirm whether we are in Christ or not! What is Retirement Like?

Since being retired for 23 years you notice things about yourself! I notice that I drink several cups of sleepy time tea during daylight hours? I complain the mail man is never on time! I send several house payments in ahead of time in case I forget! I complain about the weather even though I am not in it! I wish Christmas would get here in January! I have promised my wife to vacuum the rug last year! I tell the guests in January that the cob webs will come down after halloween! I have two clocks in the same room with different times an hour apart so I do not have to change advancing or retarding by one hour every year! I leave the Christmas decorations up all year long! I look the other way when I see dust! The thought of inviting a guest requiring house cleaning depresses me! I kill roaches with a BB gun! The thought of ever having to move tires me! I get my carnival kicks riding my stair lift! I do not separate laundry anymore! Just throw the mixed bag into the wash! It will all come out in the wash! My tax preparer tells me it is too early to file! I love the winter when the grass does not grow! When my furnace blower starts I get a cloud of dust off my venetian blinds! I make my bed when I feel like it. I answer all spam calls to make conversation. Just a few changes you will begin to notice in your retirement years!

What is Sin? 1 John 3:4

“Whosoever commiteth [sin] [transgresseth] also the law; for sin is the [transgression of the law.] Commentary: The real question is who is sin? It is a spirit that defies the law living in all people! The Apostle Peter said resist the devil and he will flee from you! Resist him with what? The Word of God! It is written! This is why the secular war on the Bible! Sin will destroy God’s expectation of you! Sin is the rebellion against the laws of God! You become offensive to God! The true end of sin is for you to miss your purpose in God! To break relationship with him! Satan’s ultimate purpose! Why is the name of Jesus mocked in our culture? Why is the Bible pushed out of our public schools? Why is prayer resisted? Why the anarchy in our streets? Why the war on authority? It is a war on the Laws of God given to men by God! There are two Greek words that make up our English word “transgress”. A person who transgresses is willingly and purposely not acknowledging the Law! This is why the Orthodox Jewish children here in America are taught the Torah and to memorize the Ten Commandments! They are instructed to learn and remember the Laws of God! To transgress the Law is to live in a state of lawlessness! Without law we have Portland! Minneapolis! LA! To reject the laws of God is to acknowledge gay marriage, homosexuality, lesbianism, transgenderism, riots, looting, burning, destruction and the poverty that it creates! Divorce creates poverty! If you approve of those that do these things you are a partner with the law breakers! The church in America is deficient in teaching the laws of God because political correctness has replaced sound doctrine! Jesus said if you love me keep my Commandments! Keep the Law! We have reached a point in our culture where people think I do not need a Savior because I am not a sinner! The church is silent so must be no problem with sin? We have to advocate the Law before we introduce the Savior! However the 501c keeps everyone quiet in the church! We might as well hold cooking classes in our churches! The last mouth piece to acknowledge the Law is the church but strangely muted? The church has to come out of hiding! We can sell books to make millions of dollars but we are selling our culture for a profit! So what does the transgression of the law or sin finally accomplish? Sin is the last nail in the coffin of any culture! Here is a key most people do not understand! Sin will bring forth an independent existence of itself! Sin is a spirit that opposes God! It will send a person to judgment and hell but itself will remain on earth looking for another soul to send there also! Sin is a person! An indwelling evil spirit! The possessed do not know they are possessed unless they understand the reason for their rejection of the Law and Jesus Christ! Jesus went to the Cross for our sin! Why the war on Crosses across America? He fulfilled the Law completely by taking our penalty for sin death upon himself! Then your relationship with God is re-established! Sin no longer separates you from God and you willingly acknowledge and live your life according to the Law! Jesus gives you the power to want to follow his commandments! Repentance acknowledges our sin and rebellion against the Laws of God! Then you become born again with the Holy Spirit instead of Satan leading your life towards heaven to be with Christ forever! Know What You Don’t Know!

1 John 2:29 “Behold, what manner of [love] the [Father} hath bestowed upon us, that we should be called the [sons] of [God], therefore the world [knoweth] us not, because it knew him not.” Commentary: The word love or agape is the highest form of love which is a sacrificial love! Pseudo love is you sacrificing others for your benefit! True love sacrifices yourself for others! This is what the Cross is all about! The Father is the instrument of our spiritual birth! He is the creator of the heavens and the earth! He is the Father of all men by virtue of his creation! He is also the Father of his only Son Jesus Christ! We are the sons of God through spiritual birth but Christ preceded creation! He is part of the Trinity who has an eternal existence before time! The word God means the true God! Not the gods invented by men! False gods are created by men but the true God created men! In his image! The world is the material universe inhabited by all men. To know means to perceive. A perceptive intuition that we belong to God! The world is perplexed by our fellowship with Christ only because they do not know him! They cannot comprehend it! Our thoughts are consumed by his love for us! We anticipate his second coming by the historical evidence and experience of his first coming! We are preparing ourselves for the thousand year reign of Christ here on earth! We are building his church here on earth! Time and history proves his love for us! Our death will prove his resurrection power for us! We cannot turn back the past but he has forgiven us our past! He alone holds our future! Heaven or hell is in your future depending on what you do with the Messiah! Accept or reject his love? I live for him everyday! His thoughts become my thoughts! His word lights my path! I do not stumble in darkness by the false ideologies of this world that oppose Christ! He revealed himself to me! His love for me beyond measure! He is faithful! You can trust him! He will come to you in your darkest hour if you call out to him! Jesus! Save me! From myself! He has sent his Holy Spirit to comfort us! Our desire is that all could experience the love of God!
