“Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past.” Comment: This is great! I can forget my mortgage payments! My credit card payments! My utility bills! No more taxes! Even better than Trump! No more insurance or car payments! No more rent! No more nagging wife or condemning husband! No more diapers! No more toxic supervisor! I feel like I have died and went to Heaven! This verse in Isaiah is not a prison escape plan! What Isaiah is really saying is do not let your past sin become your present sin! American Sacrifices! Matthew 24:9
Jesus said many things about the signs of the last days before His return to earth! Verse 9: “Then shall they deliver you up to be afflicted, and shall kill you, and you shall be hated of all nations for my name’s sake.” Comment: Killing of Americans on their own soil was unheard of until 9-11. Since then Americans have been under a constant assault! This has been complicated by political and physical attacks on our law enforcement and liberal immigration policies and the protection of criminals by sanctuary cities with their resistance to enforce federal law! Liberal judges have released many criminals back into society to do the same crimes again! Our prayers and support to the victims of Las Vegas! My advice to Americans is to stay away from large crowds for they will be targets! Arm yourselves to protect your own families! Are You a Remnant? Romans 9:29
Paul was quoting the Old Testament here in Isaiah 1:9. Jesus quoted the Old Testament a lot! In Romans here Paul uses the word Sabaoth! This word means the armies of Heaven! Remember the war angel Michael? They are still employed by God! Isaiah uses the word remnant while Paul uses the word seed. The Hebrew word for our English word remnant means a people who survived an onslaught of an enemy! They are simply survivors! A seed is also a survivor in the sense that it was not consumed but lived to produce more fruit! So what in the world are we surviving from? I am glad you asked! God’s Judgment due to our sin! Love cannot exist without judgment! If God winked at sin and looked the other way there would be no need for Salvation! The earth would just be consumed in wickedness! We are all who are in Christ Jesus survivors from judgment! Whether it be Noah and his family or Joseph in Egypt or Lot and his family! There are only survivors in Heaven! It is interesting that the word Lord used in Romans refers to God using His authority for good! Lucifer the fallen angel had authority in Heaven but he used it for evil and was cast out of Heaven! How do you use the authority you have? For good or evil? Israel is a survivor today as it exists as a State under threats from all around her! In the last battle on earth Armageddon Israel will be surrounded by Gentile armies as they try to destroy her! God will dispatch His armies and consume them! No survivors! Do you want to be a survivor or remnant? Then you need a Savior! He is a Jew and His name is Jesus Christ! Remember according to the Covenant if God cannot be faithful to Israel He cannot be faithful to you! The Covenant promises include the Jews and the Gentiles! Going After Strange Flesh! Jude 7
“Even as Sodom and Gomorrah and the cities about them in like manner, giving themselves over to fornication, and going after strange flesh, are set forth for an example, suffering the vengeance of eternal fire.” Comment: Strange flesh used here by Jude the brother of Jesus means unnatural homosexual behavior. In the last days of this age Sodom and Gomorrah will be revived! It will climax with the Anti-Christ’s one world government during the 7 year Tribulation period that will close out this age! He will be gay also! He will have no natural affection for women! A real war on women! This 7 year Tribulation period will be the most destructive period in human history! We also believe from scriptures that His Church will be Raptured away just prior to this period in history! Now let us go on and see what Jude says in verse 18. “How that they told you that there should be mockers in the last time, who should walk after their own ungodly lusts.” It is interesting that the word “last”, comes from a Greek word meaning echo! It denotes the last end of a sound made! It will also be the last sound of the age before the trumpets blow! It concludes a time of the end of this age! The word “time”, used here means the last season of an opportunity! There will come a time in all our lives that there will be no more opportunities to get right with God! Do you as a gay want to be in this part of the end times scenario? Jude mentions the eternal fire of judgment! God reigned down fire on these cities! Political correctness and civil judicial approval did not save them! The popular culture will prepare you for Hell. When I stand before my Christ I will have to give an account! God’s love includes judgment and He took our judgment on the Cross! If no judgment then it would not matter what we do! Then bad choices would have no consequences! Last Supper 1 Corinthians 11:24-25 (Greek Translation)
Verse 24; “And when Jesus had prayed over the meal and broke and divided the bread He said, “Take eat; this is my human body which is broken for you, this do in remembrance, in recollection, in repetition, to know again and recall of me.” Verse 25; “After the same manner Jesus took the cup after the evening meal and said, “This cup is new which is not impaired by time or use and is a divisor will in my atoning blood and as often as you drink it come to know me again.” Comment: Why do we take Communion? The Lord has instituted it according to His Word! Human nature tends to forget! When we honor someone it is usually in memory of the past. However the Hebrews or the Jews have a very different perception of the word remembrance! The Jews look at the word remembrance as his presence is still with us! At the Seder meal the Jews have an empty chair seated for Elijah! Jesus is with us today! I will never leave you nor forsake you! Remember Jesus has set the Communion Table before you as an invited quest! Your sin required the Table be set! You did not pay anything for the Table or the meal. You were invited even though you were unworthy! Jesus is personally sharing a meal with you! He is present with you! Why would you turn down a meal you did not pay for and did not deserve and made no sacrifice for? This meal purchased your freedom from sin, death and Hell yet you will not partake? His broken body and shed blood remind us that the Cross was very costly to God and His Son for the redemption of your spirit, soul and body! First & Last? Isaiah 44:6
What did God mean here? We probably have a general idea! Elementary Watson! Let us break the Hebrew words down for a deeper understanding! The word “First”, used here means to be foremost in order of rank! It is like a new year! Remember God instructed Moses to set up the Tabernacle in the first month! Remember Satan’s Kingdom also has an order of rank! Remember in the Book of Genesis (First Book), that the seed of the woman would crush the head of the Serpent! That is the birth of Christ would accomplish this! Satan is the head or first in rank in the Kingdom of Serpents! What about the word last? No one likes to be last! This is an interesting word in Hebrew! It means to follow as facing the east! God is going to see tomorrow! He watches the sunset and will see the sunrise! His days are not numbered! Do you remember something about Jesus saying he is the first and the last? (Revelation 22:13) He said i am the Alpha and the Omega! Alpha is the first letter of the Greek alphabet but interestingly has a Hebrew origin! Omega is the last letter of the Greek alphabet! What did Jesus mean by saying he was the first? From the Greek we learn that he is first in importance! Is he first in your life? What did Jesus mean by saying i am last? According to the Greek it means he is the finalist in rank and time! He is the only guy left standing! He is on the gold metal stand and no rivals! Jesus goes on to say in this verse that he is the beginning and the end! The word beginning used here means he is the first in order of time, place and rank! Remember those hard headed Jews did not get it when he said before Abraham i was! The word end means that he is the goal. Is he your goal? A running back in the NFL has only one objective! He needs to cross the goal line! The Cross of Jesus will get you across the goal line! The word end used here means to a conclusion! What one word would represent the conclusion of your life? Debt? Pain? Sickness? Death? Fear? Guilt? If you prioritize your life where Jesus is first and last in your life these evil spirits will die at the Cross! Remember the scripture that says the first will be last and the last first? The Last Battle on Earth? Revelation 16:14
If we are serious about looking for Jesus second coming then we have to look at the Prophesies in the Old and New Testaments of our Bible! According to statistics man has known one year of peace for every thirteen years of war! However, since the end of WWII (1945), the number of wars has increased dramatically! The World Atlas concludes that the world has not known a single day since WWII without some nation waging a conflict some place on earth! Remember Jesus told us there would be wars and rumors of wars before His second coming! So what and where will the last war be waged on earth? The Battle of Armageddon! Who will be Commander and Chief against the armies of Satan? Jesus Christ! At this time all human government will end! Jesus is not a democrat or a republican! Jesus will not destroy mankind but save it! This last battle will take place in Israel. So keep an eye on Israel as the armies of the world surround her! Your Bible is front page news! Read it! In The Beginning! Genesis 1:1
This word has the honor of being the first word written in the Bible! Often the word denotes the point in time or space when something is started, except when it specifies the point when time and space themselves were started as expressed in Isaiah 46:10. It is interesting that the last word in the Bible is “Amen.” Amen is a declaration which means to be faithful, constant, firm and reliable. Remember in the Book of Revelation Jesus said, “I am the beginning and the end!” The word beginning here meaning the first and the word last meaning the finality. The word last also denotes a union as in the Trinity! Are you in union with Christ? If you are then it means you get in on everything from the beginning to the end! It means you ride the waves of victory over the storms of life! Walk on the water with Him or sink! You can try to build your own boat but the best designed ships are at the bottom of the ocean! The God that created the sea can carry you as Peter learned! Do not try to begin or end your life without Christ! If you try you will fail! Is It All About Food?
Adam and Eve were given all the food in the garden except one tree! They had a vegetarian dish of everything except for one dish! Could they follow instructions? No! Israel ate the Passover mean with unleavened bread before leaving Egypt. No time to ferment the bread they had to get out of Dodge(town). Moses got complaints about the food in the wilderness. The Jews told him they wish they could go back to Egypt and eat the garlic and onions! God wanted to kill them all but Moses pleaded with God and they got frosted flakes in the wilderness. Just a note here I have a bowl of Luckey Charms every morning for breakfast. Then the most significant event in all of history happened! In an obscure village named Bethlehem God prepared another Table for us! The name Bethlehem means house of bread. Then we have the last supper. We have the Lord’s table or Thanksgiving meal. This meal is also called the Communion Table where we receive Christ’s Body(Broken Bread), and His Blood(Wine) as atonement for our sin. On the resurrection day we will all be at the Marriage Supper of the Lamb! The point here is God has prepared a Table for us simply by His Grace over us! We did not earn this but a gift to us! God has prepared a table for us both past, present and future! As we sit around a table this Holiday season think on these things and The Table He by His great sacrifice has provided to you!
