A Falling Away? II Thessalonians 2:3-4

A Barna Survey says that church attendance has been declining nationwide over past ten years! The March 25, 2014, report says regular church attendance has declined from 43 percent in 2004 to 36 percent in 2014. Why? Now let us read II Thessalonians 2:3 and then we will break the Greek words down for a better understanding! “Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, that the man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition.” Comment: So why Pastor’s are pulling out what hair they have left on their head trying to figure out drop in church attendance the scriptures themselves provide the answer! So what does the term “Falling away” mean? The Greek means to abandon the first to rule! The author of creation! To abandon Christ himself! You see your drop in church attendance is a refection of a culture that is abandoning Christ! The word man used in this scripture is irrespective of gender! It is a spiritual condition! Sin meaning missing the end of your true purpose! The word perdition is an interesting word! The Greek translates this word as the condition of men after death exempt from Salvation! So a drop in church attendance is prophetic as we near the end of time! It is not to say we and Pastor’s should not try to be better in our presentation of the Gospel but also not to deny scriptures to popular culture to be please the crowd! It goes on in verse 4 to say they make themselves God! That is the most dangerous position for any culture to be in! We see reflections of this in our culture with promotion of socialism, global warming, abortion, open borders, anti-Semitism, Christian mockery and more! The greatest destruction of the world as history has shown us is when man makes himself God! Atheism along with Darwinism are two outstanding examples! Cloudless Harps! Revelation 21:1-27

In the new heaven and earth there will be no sanctuary, temple or church! Yes unemployed Rabbi’s, Priest’s and Pastor’s! There will be no sun and no moon! Jesus is the light of the world! Remember at creation? Let there be light! No night there! No clouds there! We reflect the light of Jesus as the moon reflects the light of the sun! No sickness in heaven! No hospital’s, no doctor’s, no nurses, no pharmacy, no x-ray machines, no MRI scanners and no chemo therapy! No sadness in heaven! No more tears! No tears of wasted lives! No tears of pre-mature death! No tears for suicides! No graves! No undertaker’s! No cemetery! No stone cutter’s! No wreath maker’s! Also no separation in heaven! No more farewell parties at the airport! No crying for departed loved ones! No more sea of separation! Remember the Apostle John who wrote this Book of Revelation? He was imprisoned on the island of Patmos surrounded by a sea! He longed to be with the seven Churches but was imprisoned as a slave laborer in a marble stone quarry! No prison’s in heaven! No more condemnation in heaven! I will pray for you but the reason for all your problems is because of sin! No prayer in heaven! Last no more sin in heaven! No military, no police departments, no FBI. no CIA, no NSA. The unrepentant sinners will be separated from heaven in the Lake of Fire! No dirty words spoken in heaven! No disobedient thoughts and actions! No acts of revenge from unrepentant sinners expressed in violence! Yes, cloudless harps! We will be in constant praise to our King in heaven! Sound boring? Then try the Lake of Fire where the worm never dies and the fire is never quenched! You cannot have one foot in heaven and one foot in hell? You have a choice as long as you have breath! Love of Money! Ecclesiastes 5:11-17

This is what happens to those who love money more than God! The following are the five characteristics of people who are in love with money; 1. The more they have the more they want. 2. The more they have the more they spend. 3. The more they have the more they worry. 4. The more they have the more they lose. 5. The more they have the more they have to leave behind. Pastor David Jeremiah Comment: Solomon was the richest man that has ever lived on the earth! He had 700 hundred wives and 300 concubines or girl friends! If anyone knew the deception of wealth he knew! Learn from him who had it all but in the end he said it was all vanity! That is to no purpose! Jesus said the love of money is the root of all evil. I admire Pastor Jeremiah for his transparency in taking a Biblical stand on money, sex, Heaven and Hell. He is not a politically correct politician in the pulpit! He has my respect! Jesus offended the rich but had compassion on the poor! Judas lost his soul because of a love for money! Jesus told the rich man after he bragged to him how he keeps the law perfectly that he lacked one thing! Give all you have to the poor and come and follow me! But the rich man went away sad because his possessions had him! They owned him! Do not hang on to what you cannot keep! The way to keep money from owning you is to give it away! Remember This When You Vote!

In this politically charged season, we do well to remember that we are not voting for a savior but a servant—one who needs to demonstrate that if he or she has served God faithfully, it is a clear indication that he or she will serve the nation similarly. If you are looking for someone with a Messianic complex, then he or she will simply pave the way for the Biblical Anti-Christ, Satan’s sinister representative, who will lead many away from the truth! Church Government

It is a thoroughly anti-Christian doctrine that the Spirit of God, and therefore the life and governing power of the church, resides in the ministry, to the exclusion of the people! Charles Hodges (1797-1878) Comment; True but I have seen a church board vote and send a good Pastor down the road! I have seen elder’s gang up on a Pastor! I have seen congregation members rebel and split the church taking half the congregation away to begin a new church! We also got the Reformation through a church split! Not all bad! Church by-laws are different! I limit myself to making suggestions to the Pastor to improve effectiveness. However, it is still up to the Pastor if he wants to do it? If he doesn’t then that is alright! The only reason I can see a reason to leave a church is doctrinal error! If so then leave the right way in peace with the Pastor and congregation! Thankyou. War Against Israel Equals Atomic War! Zechariah 14:12

Zechariah says,”Their flesh shall consume away while they stand on their feet and their eyes shall consume away in their holes and their tongue shall consume away in their mouth!” This prophecy was written 2500 years ago! If you go to the Book of Revelation and do a word study the word plague used there translates from the Greek as, “melt away.” We have seen the effects of Atomic war on Japan during World War II. Remember Japan joined Hitler with Italy known as the Axis Power. Hitler’s priority was to exterminate the Jews from the face of the earth! The Muslims joined him then as they do today to exterminate the Jews! Hitler almost succeeded were it not for a Jew. How far was Germany from an atomic weapon at the end of World war II? Evidence says exactly one year! At the end of the war the allies discovered a four engine jet bomber in a secluded hangar in Germany. The two engine proto type had already been test flown. It had a delta wing design with payload ability to reach New York City! It also had twice the speed of any existing allied aircraft. Albert Einstein, a Jew was a professor at Berlin Academy of Sciences in 1933. He was visiting America then when Hitler came to power. He did not return to Germany. In 1940 Einstein wrote four letters to President Roosevelt. He warned Roosevelt that Germany was developing a super bomb that could wipe out an entire city! You can read these letters on-line which are very interesting and detail Germany’s research at that time. In one of these letters he warned Roosevelt that Germany was blocking all Uranium sales from German occupied Czechoslovakian mines! These letters prompted Roosevelt to start the Manhattan Project! Israel has had conventional wars since becoming a nation in 1948. Now the balance of power is shifting in the middle east! President Obama has given Iran the green light for Iran to complete it’s atomic weapon development! Israel has about 80 atomic tipped missiles. Most are set to guard Israel’s back side which is Russia. With the entire middle east in chaos and Russia and Iran filling the vacuum left by American foreign policy failures the stage is being set for Zechariah 14:12. The Good News is there came another Jew Jesus Christ who has made a way of escape for you! No government can save you! Your Pastor cannot save you! Only Christ! The Respectful Are Respected! 1 Timothy 5:1-4

Instructions from God for a good outcome in your life! Respect elders. Encourage elders. Treat the younger as your brothers and sisters. Care for widows. What happens inside our homes counts! Important! The Christian home is the alternative community that is opposite to the dark, broken dysfunctional world that we live in. Politicians just reflect our broken culture. Church should be different. Debt free and living for others! Live more responsible with more to give away! Problem is the world does not see us any different from them. Just reminds them of themselves and what they hate. We must reinvent a new way of living. When the Church lives most unlike the world it has it’s greatest impact of reaching the world for Christ. Honor those in front of us. The older are farther along and have met things we have not. Wisdom comes from God and through time! Remember the word time means “to honor.” Old is gold. American culture spends between 90-100 Billion dollars each year for anti-aging gimmicks. Hopeless and expensive ways to try to stay young. The Bible teaches that grey hair is a gift from God. The elderly have great opportunities to help the younger. Many of the young today do not know how to ask questions. Be responsible to help widows. Seek out widows in need. John 19:25-27. Take care of your mother. With all the suffering and pain of the Cross and near death Jesus thought about his mother. A disciple took her from the execution place to care for her in his home. Why did not James take care of her? Mary was also his mother. If you read Acts Chapter 12 you will see James was killed a short time later. Joseph her husband had already passed away. Mary was vulnerable and Jesus saw it. John was the older disciple. Take care of a widow not related to you. James 1:27. Pure religion is to take care of widows and orphans and to keep your heart pure. Be family for them. Do 3 things. Find a widow. Look for them. Find, love and serve them. If you do you will come back here one year later and be a changed person. Joy and peace will enter into you. Honor your parents. Repay your parents. Practice your religion. Look not at them as a burden. Ask them how you can help them. Problem is not all parents are honorable. You could have had dysfunctional and abusive parents. Romans 12:17-18. Repay evil for evil? No! Do not become who you hate! Live at peace with everyone. Forgive. Break the cycle of family violence. Honor parents who are not honorable. Ephesians 6:2. Honor your Father and Mother and life will go well with you. The peace of God will accompany obedience. As a parent myself I do not always get it right. Neither will you. You get one shot in life at parenting. Parents work hard and then kids are gone. When we forgive we give away what we get back. Parents do the best they can at the time.
