Wisdom Produces Humility!

Proverbs 24:3-4   Hebrew Translation: “Through wisdom or an intelligent humble attitude towards your experiences both good and bad trusting the all knowing all powerful God is a home or dwelling place built, and by understanding with insight, prudence, reason, skillfulness and a teachable attitude is it established standing firm and steadfast. And by knowledge knowing with awareness observation and a God conscious shall thy chambers be filled with all precious and pleasant riches.”   Comment: Like all of us Joseph had some bad experiences! Innocent yet jail time and family betrayal! However wisdom and understanding ruled the day for him becoming a Jew head of Egypt! Jesus has some bad experiences! Betrayal and the Cross! However as being man and God wisdom ruled over his life with a great victory over sin and death! As for me and my house we will serve the Lord! You have to trust God in the good times and especially in the bad times for he will prove himself faithful to you! God’s purpose is to show you his love! To make provision for you! The hardest thing is to love someone and yet they do not trust you? Jesus deals with this everyday as many inhabitants in the earth reject him! Most of the time development comes faster when we walk through the hard times! Learning to trust God! On the other side of the Red Sea Moses gained confidence and trust in God! Our final goal is to be with Christ on earth and in heaven! We cannot miss the mark! When our enemies see the victory God has given us they also have a glimpse of the light! You cannot understand life until you understand God! His ways are higher than our ways! Jesus is the way! To miss God is Babylon or confusion! Pride will never find God but oppose him! This is what happened to Satan! God’s character is humility! We normally do not search for God unless troubles overwhelm us! Wisdom is to understand only God can deliver me! We will sooner or later face a Goliath! No amount of your own effort will deliver you from the jaws of the lion or the fiery furnace! You cannot escape the flood unless you are in the ark! Solomon realized after hundreds of wives and all the riches in the world that he was not the answer but only God! Solomon said in the end it was all vanity or to no purpose! Our real purpose is found in God in relationship to him! Jesus cried on the Cross, “Why have you forsaken me?” Jesus biggest threat was not the death on the Cross or what Satan could do to him it was being forsaken by God! That is what hell is all about! Jesus came to deliver us from hell! He had to go there to complete his mission! To save you! Many forsake Jesus today! They reject his Salvation and the heaven he has prepared for them! Wisdom! Nehemiah 8:10

In this world sorrow comes to all and it often comes with bitter agony! Perfect relief is not possible except with time. You cannot now believe that you will ever feel better. But this is not true. You are sure to be happy again! Knowing this, truly believing it will make you less miserable now! I have had enough experience to make this statement. Abraham Lincoln Comment: Job is one of the best examples in our Bible where he was successful then lost everything including his family! He lost his health also! Then he had his miserable friends who condemned him for surely he must be evil and deserved this outcome! Yet Satan paraded in front of God mocking him and challenging God that if you take away all the blessings you have given him he will then curse you! What Satan could not touch was Job’s faith in God! God restored everything Job had lost and even doubled all he had lost before the calamities! Lincoln lost everything including his life for our nation! Mystery Solved! Revelation 1:20

Comment: The word mystery translated from the Greek means a sacred spiritual mystery! Something that is hidden but to be revealed later. This is why a believer in Christ lives by faith! We do not see everything about our faith immediately but God reveals himself to us in steps as we progress in following him! The word angels used here simply means a messenger! Someone with a message! It could be Gabriel however this word angel in the Greek can also mean a Bishop, Pastor or a designated elder! The word churches means a congregation of believers following Christ. I believe the angels were the seven Pastor’s of the seven churches in Asia Minor (Turkey).  This letter was for them! Some believe the Roman guards would have read John’s letters so he coded them so only the churches would understand what he was saying! When the Roman guards read these letters they probably thought John was crazy! I am sure the world today looks at us the same way! The foolishness of God is wiser than the wisdom of men! The reason the Romans released John from prison is probably because they thought he was not a threat to Caesar but just plain crazy! Remember the whole Book of Revelation is the unveiling or uncovering the mystery of Jesus Christ! Look for Jesus Christ as you read and study this Book! To those who have not received the Revelation of Jesus Christ this Book would look foolish yet to those who have received him it is the power of God! The stars and the candlesticks ultimately all point to Christ! There was a star over Bethlehem and Jesus is the light of the world! Let him light your path so you do not stumble in the darkness! Basic Wisdom Course 101

Psalm 90:12  Hebrew Translation “Teach us to distinguish between right and wrong. As our creator help us to understand your knowledge of us. To know you is to understand ourselves. Reveal yourself to us so you might help us to be familiar with and understand you. We number our days because life is short and eternity is forever. Help us not to miss you! Life is a short journey to find you and a long journey if we miss you! We understand that our hearts are the moral seat of evil. Help us to find our right place in you. Help us to have your heart. Help us in your wisdom to have insight and judgment. Help us to understand that true wisdom is only found in you and that our wisdom can never be independent of you. Only through your wisdom can we find real meaning in life.”

Fools for Christ! 1 Corinthians 4:10

If I have brought any message today, it is this: Have the courage to have your wisdom regarded as stupidity. Be fools for Christ. And have the courage to suffer the contempt of the sophisticated world. Supreme Court Judge Antonin Scalia   Comment: This scripture in Corinthians says we are fools yet we are wise! Wise not in our own strength but wise in Christ! We are strong and honorable yet despised by the world! Why? Our future is not of this world! The world is betting on themselves we are betting on Christ! Wisdom is to have the mind of Christ! The mind of God! To understand life from an eternal perspective! Our battles are not against flesh and blood but against principalities and powers of darkness! Our battles are against spiritual forces! God’s spirit and Satan’s spirit occupy flesh and blood! We stay in the fight because Christ is victory over hell and the grave! Our present and future are with him! Our past is forgiven! The world lives opposing Christ because they believe this life is all there is? So they live a life that is harmful to themselves and others! The wisdom of men is foolishness to God! Their mortal minds have limited capacity and knowledge! Man can give some knowledge but God gives Revelation! Things that are future that are shown to believer’s in Christ today! Real Fireworks! John 8:12

Greek Translation: “Then Jesus spake unto them, saying, I am the light of the day that is never quenched! I am the light of the sum of all person’s that have ever lived or ever will live! He that moves quickly following me in time shall not walk in the darkness of unhappiness and ruin but shall have my light in your life, in your spirit and soul.” Comment: Notice Jesus light will never be quenched though much of the world tries to snuff out the light! As the fireworks are going off in our neighborhood it is beginning to rain! This light is temporary and will die with the rain! The word life used here in this passage means the soul and spirit set apart from the physical body! Jesus is speaking to the eternal parts of us of soul and spirit! The first time light is used in our Bible is at creation in Genesis 1:3. The Hebrew word used there is associated with Salvation, prosperity, wisdom and justice! Do you notice Jesus is the fulfillment of all of these characteristics! Our life is to embody this nature of God! Since Jesus defeated sin for us on Calvary the door is open to us to receive the nature of God with all His attributes! Pride & Shame Proverbs 11:2

Hebrew translation: “When pride with it’s haughtiness, arrogance, rebelliousness, presumptive will taking authority from God in disobedience then shame comes: but with the lowly is wisdom in knowledge, intelligence, insight and judgment from God as your source.” Comment: The Bible says that the fear of God is the beginning of wisdom! My Bible also says the fool says in his heart there is no God! The belief spectrum ranges from there is no God to there are millions of gods! Pride will always be the first cause of sin! Whether in the Garden of Eden or today in the 21st century pride is the root cause of evil. Remember Jesus humbled Himself even to death on the Cross! The international problems of today are the family problems of today! Pride is simply you making yourself God! You trust in yourself rather than God! How many billions of people get up every morning trying to outsource God? Trying to rob God of His sovereignty? Many say if I were God I would do things this way? But you are not God and neither am I. Let God do His job and you do your job! I learned this in the military! If every member does his or her job and does not try to do someone else’s job victory comes in battle! God owns the whole universe of heaven and earth! We belong to Him! One of God’s job’s was to fix our pride and sin! He made a way through His Son Jesus Christ! Accept His pardon and live for Him! Prayer is the best way to let God do His job! $30000 Dollar Perfume! Mark 14:5

Would you spend thirty thousand dollars on perfume for your girl friend or wife? How about that much money spent on perfume for a burial! Probably not! Most Christian’s today would have picked up a bottle of perfume at Dollar Tree for Jesus! The pence or denarius was a day’s wage in the first Century! The pence was equal to ten asses or donkey’s and would have the purchasing power to get this many for a day’s wages! The day laborer and the Roman soldier got one denarius or about 20 cents for a day of labor! The denarius was a small silver coin. So the woman that anointed Jesus with this precious perfume spent 300 days labor for this act of love! The average American worker makes about 100 dollars per day wage. So the American worker at 300 day’s labor would spend thirty thousand dollars on Jesus perfume! If you were a millionaire and made 365 million dollars per year then he would spend 300 million dollars on Jesus perfume! Is it any wonder the crowd got upset at this woman? She was making them look bad! The crowd said the money could have been given to the poor! Jesus said the poor you always have with you! Since the 1960’s the American taxpayer has spent hundreds of billions of dollars on programs for the poor but the poor population has grown in numbers since then? Jesus complimented her and told her this anointing was for my burial. What she did stands as a memorial to her forever! You will meet her in Heaven! Today it is just like pulling teeth to get Christian’s to tithe their income to the church? They will not do it unless they get an income tax deduction! Forget about the offering? I find it difficult sometimes when people want God’s Blessings but will not invest into His Kingdom? We get prayer requests for health and prosperity but not a penny investment into God’s Kingdom? The only rationale I can come up with is that they do not believe God exists but in case He does pray for me! It is like playing the lottery! Buy me a ticket in case you win! This woman had wisdom to invest in the Kingdom while she was living on earth that paid eternal dividends! Her memorial stands 2000 years later! Another interesting word us for perfume is spikenard. Two Greek words make up this English word! It literally means a genuine true beloved friend of foreign origin! Are you a true beloved friend of Jesus? Is He like a treasure of foreign origin to you?
