However many blessings we expect from God, His infinite liberality will always exceed all our wishes and our thoughts! John Calvin

Bible
The Bible is one of the greatest blessings bestowed by God on the children of men. It has God as it’s author; salvation for it’s end, and truth without any mixture for it’s matter. It is all pure! John Locke
Christmas Vietnam 1967
We have been ordered to take Hill 875. The hill has been bombarded by air power and artillery for the past three days! The ground shakes under our feet and our ears ring from the deafening sounds of battle. We are at the base line of this hill yet the Vietnamese continue to come down off this mountain at night and attack our positions! If we do not take this hill then we will all die! As a leader I know the only way we will take this hill is to send our best men up this hill. This means our best men will die! This is the way life works! God gave His best shall we then do less? I have tried in a thousand ways to take this hill without loss of life but the longer we wait the more American’s die! The only solution is to charge up this mountain and take it for America. We should put a U.S. consulate on this hill after we finish our job! It is difficult to maintain morale here with all those radical liberal college professors and their students fighting against us back home! They have joined Ho Chi Minh and his ideology of murder! It is better they stay back in America than be here with us where they would get us all killed! No Monday morning quarterbacks out here! You make a mistake out here and you do not see Monday! I wish our politicians understood this? I have to leave enough troops behind to recover our bodies and remove our wounded off this mountain to our helicopters to take them back to base camp. If I lead the charge the good men will follow! Freedom is cheap to those who have never paid the price! Those who lead the rebel’s back in America against this war can only do so by the freedoms obtained by those that went before them and paid the sacrifices to win victory over our enemies! Another officer got fragged yesterday? We must wait until daylight before the charge to allow the enemy to return to their positions on top of the mountain. The sun has now broken the dawn and now I must lead the charge up this mountain! The first one hundred yards was uneventful? I figure they figured we were not stupid enough to do this! They were wrong! Then they opened up with all they had! Machine guns, rocket launchers, grenades, mortars! It was rockets red glare, bombs bursting in air! We just kept running forward up the mountain! I kept getting hit with tree bark in the face from bullets cutting up the trees! The other problem was dirt hitting me in the face from bullets dancing around my feet! We would run right past gun positions and then break off behind them and clean them out! We got to the top of Hill 875 and planted the American flag on the top of the hill. We claimed this hill for America and Liberty! It is Christmas now and we count our Blessings we have obtained through our sacrifices and God’s sacrifice! We do not serve a bloodless Christ and we will never win a bloodless war! Pride Before The Fall? Abraham Lincoln
We have forgotten God. We have forgotten the gracious hand, which preserved us in peace and multiplied and enriched and strengthened us, and we have vainly imagined, in the deceitfulness of our hearts, that all these blessings were produced by some superior wisdom and virtue of our own. Intoxicated with success, we have become too self-sufficient to feel the necessity of redeeming and preserving grace, too proud to pray to the God that made us. Abraham Lincoln
Failure + Success = Humility
A famous quote by Mark Twain says, “Failure is never permanent and success is never final!” The most challenging part of our life cycle is not dealing with failure but being able to successfully handle success! If success is only a tool to get above others and control others then we misuse God’s Blessings! A Godly Blessing should help us help others to be successful! Who you give the credit to is an indicator of a right or wrong attitude about success. Excuses cannot be our foundation for failure. When we take responsibility for our actions and repent then a door is opened from God for recovery towards success. When we take the Blessings God has given us and give credit to ourselves and not honor Him and the people He has placed in our lives we set ourselves up for failure. God has a plan for you to prosper you and bring good success! However to try this on your own without Him is like walking across a mine field in a combat zone! Thankyou. James and Hamsa Sasse. Hear It and Practice It ! Matthew 7:24-27
Here Jesus gives the final benediction. Jesus demands and compels us to take the narrow gate, produce the right fruit and make the right choice! He required of us that we build on the right foundation. We are to examine ourselves and practice Holiness. Jesus repeats these requirements a second time because they are so important. Jesus was talking to believers not non-believers. The rain, wind and storms will come to us all. Good and bad days are ahead. The wise build on the rock and the foolish on the sand. If we build on the right foundation we will thrive through the storm. We have great days ahead! We can feel His Blessings! The disciples were passionate. They did great things! There were glorious days and there was also trouble. Eleven of His disciples were martyred! One was imprisoned on a remote island in a cave. John 16:33 — Peace and Tribulation? Jesus has come to give us peace. The world gives us trouble. Jesus has overcome the world! Stay strong and keep the Faith. Nothing shall shake you! The place of stability in Christ leaves no terror. The unstable world leaves us with fear. Love and fear are opposites. How do we practice words? We practice them by doing them. Action! Breath in His Holy Spirit. Get saturated with the Gospel! Breath out and go do His Word. Are you receiving but not giving? Gandhi said,” I like your Christ but not His followers! ” Christ’s followers cannot save Gandhi but Christ could! James 1:27– Pure religion is to take care of widows and orphans. Also keep your heart pure. Find some widows and orphans! Get busy. Do! Act! Along life’s path do His Word. Do you have a vision? That vision will deceive you if you are not doing His Word! A medical doctor is useless unless he is practicing his knowledge! Luke 8:15– There are four types of soil. The seed is the word. Good soil is a pure heart. Hear His word and do something about it. Hear it, retain it, talk about it and do it. Cares of the world will choke the word. Know the will of God and cooperate and do it. Good work does not earn our salvation. But the good works help to mature us. Put your hands and feet to His Word. The Bible is a living, breathing document. The Holy Spirit puts boots on the ground through you! Live out your revelation. Matthew 7:28– Jesus taught as one having authority. It is not about Plan A or Plan B. Make disciples teaching them to obey me! Christ will be with you always even to the end of the ages. Have a secure place and build on the right foundation. What are you building your life on? What and who is shaping and forming your life right now today? Source: Pastor Brady Boyd, New Life Church, Colorado Springs, Colorado. Message given Sunday, September 15, 2013. Thankyou. Swear! What Does It Mean? Genesis 21:23, Matthew 23:16-23
This word is interesting but not understood by most. As a child I was taught not to swear. What my parents meant was using bad words that would defame God. The old saying is do not let people swear by you or at you! So many advertisements in America use this word to try to sell their products. In the Bible the word has two different meanings depending on whether Old or New Testament. In the Old Testament the word first appears in Genesis 21:23. The Hebrew word is “Shaba.” It means to make an oath or declaration 7 times. Seven is the number of completeness. Seven days in a week, 7 years, 70, ect. I remember as a child my parents would say I am only going to tell you one time! If not all hell broke loose for me! The word is a short cut to say something 7 times. God swore to multiply and Bless Abraham’s descendants. God swore by His Holiness to lead Israel into captivity. (Amos 4:2) The Lord swears by Himself since there is none greater. Abimelech and Phicol asked Abraham to swear his kindness and integrity to them and their descendants. David’s men adjured him not to go into battle again. The Land of Canaan became the Promised Land gave to His people based on an oath. Thousands of years later the nation of Israel today stands as a testimony! Now let us look at the word “swear” as used in the New Testament. The Greek word is “Omnuo.” It means to stand up or establish. Jesus repeats this word to the Pharisees and scribes as follows in Matthew 23:16-23; Woe unto you who swear by the temple, by gold, altar, by the gift, ect. Jesus was telling them you cannot lift up or establish yourselves by these things! Actually, the one who they could be lifted up and established by Christ they rejected! I love my Pastor, family and friends but none of them can establish me before God! Jesus is interceding for us right now! We are to pray for one another bur remember no one can save you or others including your Pastor except Christ and Christ alone! Thankyou. James and Hamsa Sasse. GodWhoisGod.com
Thanksgiving
Many Jewish commentators believe the secret of Judah’s blessings are implicit in the Hebrew meaning of his name. When Lea, his mother gave birth to him she said, “This time I will give thanksgiving unto the Lord.” Therefore she called his name Judah! See Genesis 29:35 Judah is taken from the Hebrew word Hodah which means giving thanks. The Jews gave the world two important things; An awareness of God and the concept of gratitude! Aldous Huxley wrote, ” Most human beings have an almost infinite capacity for taking things for granted.” Jewish life fights against this. The Talmud says, “if someone lacks this trait of thankfulness this person is not in fact a Jew!” The hardest math for most Christians is for us to count our Blessings! It is interesting that in Israel today the only two tribes left out of ten is Judah and Benjamin! The priest tribe of Levites is still there also. The other 10 tribes were lost through persecutions and the exiles from Israel. Why? Why did Judah survive to this day?Could have it been their attitude that bore their name? Judah. Thankyou.
