Worship! Job 1:10-12

Job is one of the most fascinating Books in the Bible! In these passages of scripture God and Satan are having a conversation about Job! Satan is reminding God that He has blessed Job and the work of his hands with wealth! Satan told God that if you take the wealth away Job will curse you and he will be just like me! So God granted Satan power over Job’s wealth and Job lost money and family! My Bible also says God gives us power to get wealth! Satan can only take it away if God gives Satan authority over your wealth! Remember in the Temptation Satan offered Jesus all the Kingdoms of this world if He would just bow down and worship him! We see in verse 20 that after Job lost everything he rent his clothes bowed down to the earth and worshipped God! Worship can never depend on how much we have or do not have! Wealth can drive us away from God just as easily as poverty! A true heart of worship has nothing to do with our circumstances! Jesus on the Cross was the greatest test of this truth! True worship is understanding the sacrifice God has made for us and to sacrifice for other’s as He has done for us! Our final destination is being in Heaven with our Christ forever! All our decisions need to be based on this fact! Jesus said the love of money is the root of all evil. Trust God and not money because money will perish and you with it if it is your God! The Way of the Cross! Isaiah 35:8

Hebrew Translation: “And a highway shall be there and a way of life with the behavior of men, and it shall be called, cried out and preached to a name. The way of life is holiness, set apart sacred and dedicated; the unclean, polluted and defiled shall not pass or cross over it; but it shall be for those; the wayfaring wondering to and fro men, though fools, shall not stagger or go astray therein.” Comment: This is a fascinating scripture! The unclean, polluted and defiled shall not pass over to it yet there shall be a way for the wayfaring, stumbling running to and fro fools! So the bums, fools and staggering wanderers will not go astray but find cleanliness and redemption! So who cleans them up? The lost people who recognize they need a savior and cannot save themselves but trust in their God for Salvation cross over into eternal life! The other group who trust in themselves, their title and position in life through human achievements and their own efforts will not cross over into eternal life! God has made a way and it is about a little baby born in Bethlehem! Merry Christmas! James and Hamsa Sasse. GodWhoisGod.com

Christ Prophecy Old Testament (Part 1)

Isaiah 11:2 (Hebrew Translation) “And the breath of the Lord shall rest on Him, the spirit of knowledge, intelligence, insight, judgment and prudence, the spirit of advice and might, the spirit of understanding and perception and reverence and worship to the Lord.” Comment: Does it get any better than this? Isaiah wrote this scripture about 600 years before the birth of Christ! Yet Jesus fulfilled this scripture to the letter! The word “Spirit” in the Hebrew Language translates “The breath of the Lord.” Remember at creation God breathed the breath of life into us! We were created in the image or imagination of God! Albert Einstein said that intelligence is not measured by the acquisition of knowledge but by imagination! God’s imagination is consummated by His breath or words! In the beginning was the word——- At Pentecost His breath as a mighty rushing wind swept over the disciples. You will do one of two things with the breath He has given you! You will either praise Him or curse Him! Many curse Him but a remnant praise Him! God’s patience is beyond measure and without His patience I would have been lost! The Old Testament made the New Testament possible! God never changes but we need to change! People can change but God never does! He is the same yesterday, today and forever! That is why we can trust Him! James and Hamsa Sasse. GodWhoisGod.com

Are You a Pilgrim? Hebrews 11:13

“These all died while believing and acting while not receiving the gifts graciously given by God but having seen them afar off, and were persuaded of them and embraced them publically praising God that they were aliens and foreigners on the earth.” Comment: Are you a Christopher Columbus? Is your faith based upon science, intellect or reason? Columbus said he navigated to the missing continent of his then known world based upon the Bible! When you live by faith you see your final destination not by physical sight but by trusting God’s promises to you! The world says show me the money! I will believe it when I see it! The Christian has just the opposite view of life! I believe it through His Spirit according to His Word and one day I shall see it! Columbus sailed west and no one in that day would dare do that! Suicide! He was navigating according to the Word of God! If you trust the Bible as Columbus did and those in the Hall of Faith then you will build God’s Kingdom while down here on earth and you will help prepare the earth for Christ’s return! Hebrews 11:1 Greek Translation

“To believe and act is the foundation for your expectation and desire that you have not seen yet.” Comment: We believe and act on what we trust! If we put our faith in the wrong things or people sin, guilt and fear will control us! A.B. Evans said this, “Faith is not a sense, nor sight, nor reason; but faith is taking God at His Word!” The words of people can be deceptive! Remember Satan told Eve surely God has not said this? Go ahead and eat this delicious looking fruit! There is only one of two voices we will hear and obey! Either God or Satan! All of us first listened to the voice of Satan! We were deceived like Adam and Eve! Sin, guilt and fear was the outcome! Sin was the outcome yet we still have an opportunity to listen and obey the voice of God! It is never too late! Remember the thief on the Cross? If you believe and act upon the Word of God through His Son Jesus Christ and confess your sin you will enter a new day being born again and experience God’s love! No longer in bondage to sin but free to serve God and love others! The choice is yours to make but it is a matter of life and death! Pastor Oscar Cope, Mount Vernon Baptist Church, Fairburn, Georgia.

God of Mammon! Luke 16:13

The Greek word translates as a comprehensive word used for all kinds of possessions, earnings and gains and is designated for a material value. Jesus said we cannot serve God and Mammon! We cannot have two masters for we will hate the one and love the other! Idol’s are easy to make but hard to abandon! Once entrenched in our soul extraction is very difficult! We are born into a material world! We are material ourselves! Wealth is not evil of itself but Jesus said the love of money is the root of all evil. We can have a misplaced trust in something that will perish! Jesus was trying to get us to focus on eternal values such as your spirit and soul that will never perish but spend eternity in either Heaven or Hell depending on what you with Jesus Christ! You will either worship Jesus or Mammon! Chose Jesus! James and Hamsa Sasse. GodWhoisGod.com

Idols! 1 Chronicles 16:26

Hebrew translation: “For all the gods of the people are as shepherds over worthless things! They are as physicians attending corpses! Good for nothing! Vanity! No purpose! But the Lord built the heavens with purpose!” Comment: So what are you a shepherd over in your life? Is in something of eternal value? Will it continue on after you leave the earth? If you cannot take it with you it is an idol. Will the family you leave on earth shepherd over things of value? Anything of eternal value will outlast you! God built the heavens with you as the purpose in mind! Are you supporting His purpose? Your purpose is to mirror His Image! We were not created in our own image but the image of God! God’s purpose from before the beginning was to deliver us from evil. That is why Christ pre-existed creation! Sin will always lead us to worship idols! Why? We would rather trust in ourselves than the work of God! When i came to Christ back in 1973 everything changed! It was no longer about me but about Christ and others! He did for me what i could not do for myself! Deliver me from evil! That is Grace! Men try to build empires, organizations and name them after themselves! Until we find the name and Savior that is above every name we will serve idols! Jesus has promised to raise you from the dead one day! After you are gone from the earth you cannot raise your idols! You have only two options! Believe Jesus or trust in yourself! Serve God or an idol. The worst idol you could ever invent is yourself! Serve God and others! James and Hamsa Sasse. GodWhoisGod.com

Good Success? Joshua 1:8

To start off the new year we need to know what good success is? The word means to be prudent! To act in wisdom, insight and devotion! When you add circumspect with intelligence you find good success! T.D. Jakes once said if you have good success then it is possible to have bad success! What would be bad success? Living your life out of the purpose and will of God! Remember good success is conditional! The scriptures must not depart out of your mouth! You must meditate on the scriptures day and night! Follow the scriptures by living them out in your life! Trust Jesus and not the world! Also remember that God is still giving you the success! Happy New Year! James and Hamsa Sasse. GodWhoisGod.com

Look Outside The Box!

No one has to be taught to trust in themselves! No one has to be taught that what you experience inside yourself is more authoritative than what comes to you externally, even if it comes from God! Since the Fall, it has been part of our character to look within ourselves! Michael Horton  Comment: All sin comes from within. Salvation comes externally independent of our existence! Modern Warfare Prohibited for Israel Psalm 20:7

Joshua 11:6  Cutting the tendons of the legs of horses rendered them unfit for military use. This is illustrated in the word “hough.” Israel was forbidden by God to develop a calvary with chariots. (Deuteronomy 17:16) God wanted them to depend on Him, not in the strength of horses! (Isaiah 31:1-3) The 600 chariots with Captains, drivers and horses of the Egyptian army buried under the Red Sea was testimony that Trust in God was the only sure way to victory! Nothing has changed today for He is the same yesterday, today and forever! James and Hamsa Sasse.  GodWhoisGod.com
