Prepare You a Way! Isaiah 40:3

“Prepare a physical pathway for the Lord, make upright and just in a wilderness a highway for our God.” Comment: This Old Testament prophecy was also quoted in the New Testament in several places! In (John 1:23), John the Baptist quoted this scripture to the religious and political leaders explaining what he was doing and why! The word “way”, used in the New Testament means a road in which one travels. Here is the real deal. We as believers had a way prepared for us to find God! The message you received about Christ may have come from a Evangelist, Pastor, teacher, Priest, prophet, elder, parent, grandparent or a missionary! They prepared a way for you to find Christ! We are to return the favor! You are preparing the way for others as you preach His Word! You may be doing a Bible study, prayer group, web site, Blog, audio or video tracts, prison ministry or a Pastor of a local church. You may be a missionary in a foreign land! You may distribute Bibles, Gospel tracts or do hospital and nursing home ministries. You may be doing a food kitchen or clothing distribution for the poor. Just like John the Baptist you are preparing the way for people to find Christ! At Jesus first coming John the Baptist prepared people to receive Christ! However today Christ’s second coming is even more important to prepare people’s hearts because His second coming will not be as Savior but as Judge of all. This makes our mission very important! John sacrificed his life for his mission but today the stakes are even higher! Even more is on the line today! At Christ’s second coming there will be no more choices available to you! Your eternity will be locked in forever! We cannot afford to play church! We must play for keeps! No business as usual. Each day that slips by begs the question what did I do today to prepare the way for others? Will we be able to answer Christ at the Judgment Seat with confidence and assurance that we did all we could to reach the lost? Was our heart in the world or in Heaven? If our destination is Heaven then think about Heaven! We cannot work our way to Heaven but we can prepare a way for others! Go out into the whole world and preach the Gospel. At marriage we say, “I do.” When we join the military we say, “I do.” Then the sacrifices begin! Jesus on the Cross said, “It is finished.” May the God of Heaven give us the grace to finish the highway to Heaven for others and receive the rewards Christ has promised us! Nothing could be more rewarding than to be in Heaven and witness others coming in after us who we have helped to prepare the way for them! James and Hamsa Sasse. GodWhoisGod.com

Are You a Minister? 1 Chronicles 16:4

King David appointed these ministers to serve before the Ark of God! They were to record and give thanks to the God of Israel. They were to write down their experiences and record them! That is how we got our Bible! Notice they were appointed by a higher authority! They were not self-appointed! You can never be in authority unless you are under authority! The word minister used here in the Hebrew means to serve a higher rank! Much like in the military. An example would be Joseph managing all the affairs of Potiphers house. Not his wife’s affairs! So who is the General or highest rank? God Himself! If you examine God in the scriptures we find that He is also a servant! Who is the lowest rank? Satan yet because of sin he runs most of the world! You should not serve him because all of creation out ranks him including the snake! Jesus exposed the good nature of a servant when he said he who is greatest in the Kingdom of God is servant of all. You will discover in the New Testament that the word minister and servant come from the same Greek word, “diakonos.” This definition can range from a waiter of tables to running errands to a teacher or a Pastor! Satan is not a servant! In fact he enslaves people so they do his bidding! God gives but Satan takes! God has given us life but Satan has taken life through death! So we have givers and takers! Our Bible says give and it will be given to you pressed down and overflowing! It also says the wages of sin is death! Remember we minister to the highest rank when we serve others! God will enable us to do this if we will humble ourselves! Pride will cause us to want to be served! Two different attitudes with two different outcomes! As Easter is approaching let us remember God sacrificed Himself for us! James and Hamsa Sasse. GodWhoisGod.com

Are You a Good Teacher?

To awaken interest and kindle enthusiasm is the sure way to teach easily and successfully!  Tyron Edwards (1809-1894) Tyron was a American Theologian and the great grandson of Jonathan Edwards. Comment: We can always blame our teacher for poor performance but going through elementary and high school I was bored to death! I dreamed in the classroom what I was going to do when school got out! My dog Jigs would be awaiting for me at the end of the lane when I got off the bus along with my pet duck! When I got off the bus Jigs would wag his tail enthusiastically and quaky would shake his tail too! So excited to see me! My rifle was waiting in my room to take Jigs rabbit hunting! How I acquired my pet duck was an unusual story! I shot him out of the sky! He had a broken wing so I feed him every morning before school and every evening after school. I took him to the cattle watering tank everyday for a bath! He loved water! I could not wait for summer vacation! Fishing trips with Jigs and quaky! I remember the red marks all over my school test papers and it reminded me that Christmas was coming! When I was a senior in high school I had an English teacher Mr. Wilson who awoke my interest and kindled my enthusiasm for studies! Then everything changed! Thankyou. James and Hamsa Sasse. Sunday School Teacher

This elder had a 3rd grade Sunday School class in his local church. He announced to the children that today’s subject would be Jesus! He asked the class if they could explain what this thing is after I describe it? This thing has a bushy tail, jumps from tree to tree and shakes it’s tail when it get’s excited. What is it? There was a long pause and then little timid Tommy raised his hand and said, “Sir, the correct answer should be Jesus but it sure sounds like a squirrel to me!

Identity Theft!

The Latin and Old French roots to the word identity mean the condition of being the same with something described or asserted. Your thought’s, idea’s and perspectives allow people to determine who you are. The truth is we try to be like someone else. Either your father, mother, grandpa, grandma, brother, sister, uncle, aunt, teacher, pastor, ect. Someone who tries Identity theft on you tries to be the same as you with the same bio-data such as date of birth, social security number, account numbers, ect. Most people only care about what you have not who you are! If they think you do not have much then they leave you alone. God cares about who you are! Character counts with God! In fact He cares so much that He through His Son Jesus Christ identified with your sin on the Cross so that you could identify with Him and have the power to live like Christ! Lucifer lost his identity in being like God in his rebellion against God. Then Satan took his new identity of being unGodly and tries to get people to try to live their lives without God! Our true identity to be like God was stolen through identity theft by Satan. When we come to Christ we get our Godly identity back and the power to live in righteousness and not in sin. Then Satan and his family moves away from us because he does not want to live like us and be like God. If you have rejected Christ then your identity has been stolen and you try to live like others who are not following Him! All of us will try to live like someone else! Only one can lead us to paths of joy, peace and eternal life Only one can save you while all others will fail you! Turn to Christ and experience a love that cannot compare with any earthly relationship! In Christ’s Love. James and Hamsa Sasse. GodWhoisGod.com

Stay Focused!

When i was in grade school back in the 1950″s we attended this small Methodist Church in a little town named Pilger Nebraska. It was Vacation Bible School time and my brother Tommy who was 2 years younger and my cousin Bill who was 2 years older all attended the same VBS class. Cousin Bill spent 2 years in the 3rd grade and he still says it was the best 2 years of his life. It was a hot muggy day in the Nebraska heat and no air conditioning in the church! Our teacher was patient for us and she tried her best to teach us something about the Bible. After our teacher completed the class she asked us what we learned? The county morgue was louder than our response? Suddenly cousin Bill spoke out and said, ” Wow! Look at that big fly on the wall!” Our teacher seemed to move into depression! She kept teaching and lived by Faith and taught her students for many more years! Thankyou. James Sasse. GodWhoisGod.com

Children’s Sunday School!

Little Isaiah came out of Sunday School carrying his papers and his coloring pages. I asked him if I could see them? I told him his work looked very good! This one creature he drew looked like a low profile dinosaur with thick legs and a very thick tail. There was also a plume of something coming out of his mouth? Isaiah said this figure drawn was a dragon with fire coming out of his mouth! I talked to Sharon our children’s church teacher and asked her if she could change the curriculum a little and try to get little Isaiah to draw an angel! Thankyou. James Sasse. GodWhoisGod.com
