The Persecutor Becomes The Persecuted! Acts 9:29

“And he spoke boldly in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and disputed against the Grecians: but they went about to slay him.” Commentary: Saul of Tarsus who became Paul previously had been a persecutor of the church! He participated in the martyr of Stephen! After his conversion to Christ on the Road to Damascus he became a persecuted Christian! A good lesson we can learn here in the life of the Apostle Paul. In life there are two sides of the coin! You will either be persecuted as Christians or you will persecute the followers of Christ! So which team are you on? Following Christ leads to persecution and heaven but to persecute Christ and his followers leads to hell. I was once a persecutor of Christ but now a follower! Which are you? When the truth of Christ is revealed and the lies and deceptions of Satan are exposed conversion follows! I am only a critic of the church when they depart from the scriptures to conform to popular culture! Promotion of abortion, homosexuality, gay marriage, transgenderism, lesbianism and other sins opposed by God and his Holy scriptures! State controlled churches through the 501c tax exemption trading freedom of speech for money! I am not a self appointed judge of the church or anyone but I can echo what the scriptures declare! Yes if you promote the scriptures they will want to kill you! However this life is short but eternity forever! The church will never be perfect and neither are we it’s members! Remember the seven churches in the Book of Revelation? He commended them yet said I have somewhat against you! You have left your first love for the world! Jesus is the judge of the living and the dead! If anyone is able to speak for you on judgment day it will be Jesus! If I deny him and his scriptures here on earth what hope do we have? Why is 1492 A.D. Important? Esdras 6:42 (Apocrypha)

This same year the last of the Muslims were forced out of Spain by the Crusaders! Christopher Columbus set sail for America! This same year the Spanish Inquisition began! Why is all this significant? First Christopher Columbus was a Jew! Throughout his life Columbus showed a keen interest in the Bible and Bible Prophecy! He would often quote Biblical texts in his letters and in his ship logs. Part of the argument that a Book he submitted to the Spanish Monarchs when he sought for his support for his proposed expedition to reach the Indies by sailing west was based on his reading of the Second Book of Esdras 6:42. Columbus interpreted this scripture from the Bible to mean that the earth is made up of six parts of land and one of water. The then world maps showed only 5 continents so Christopher reasoned from the scriptures  there was another continent missing on the world maps! So he thought traveling west he would discover this missing continent! If you read the quotes of Columbus he said he did not use science, navigation or mathematics but the scriptures as his guide! The Catholics got a hundred years start on evangelism of South and Central America because they did not reject the Apocrypha from the scriptures as the Protestants did! Towards the end of his life Columbus produced a Book of Prophecies in which his career as an explorer is interpreted in the light of Christian Eschatology and Apocalypticism. On August 3, 1492 the Edict of Expulsion was executed requiring all Jews to leave Spain! On August 2nd Columbus and his crew boarded their ships before midnight and left harbor 1/2 hour before sunrise. His historic journey was also financed with the help of some wealthy Jewish merchants! Spain had been a 2nd home for Jews since 200 A.D. Remember Paul wanted to travel there! There were 800000 Jews living in Spain when the Inquisition began! The Catholic Church in Spain wanted all Jews to convert to Catholicism! Also King Fernando and Isabella wanted to seize the Jewish wealth of Spain! History has shown us that if the Muslims are not around to persecute the Jews the Church is! Christopher was also searching for a land where the Jews could escape persecution! That happened to be America and a land which has always supported Israel! The Apocryphya was a collection of Books published in the original King James Bible of 1611. They were part of the King James Bible for 274 years until they were removed in 1885 A.D. They were inserted between the Old Testament and the New Testament. Here is what Esdras 6:42 says, “Upon the third day thou did command that the waters should be gathered in the seventh part of the earth; six parts thou dried up, and kept them, to the intent that of these some being planted of God and tilled that might serve thee.” KJV 1611 A.D.–1885 A.D. The parts of the Bible that were later thrown out were the GPS navigator’s for Columbus voyage to the New World in 1492! Maybe we should revisit the Apocrypha? Thankyou. Persecution! 1 Peter 2:20

“For what glory is it, when you are buffeted for your own faults, you shall take it patiently? but if, when you do well and suffer for it, you take it patiently, this is acceptable with God.” Comment: This is the key to the Kingdom of God! Suffering and persecution! You might say God can take it but me? Jesus was despised and rejected of men yet he opened not his mouth! If you are God come down off the Cross! He saved others he cannot save himself? King of the Jews? Prove it! Jesus was persecuted for us and we are today persecuted for Jesus! All Jesus disciples except for John were martyred! John was boiled in a pot of oil and exiled to a slave labor camp on a remote island! No one likes to suffer! All their suffering brought the Gospel to the ends of the earth! We can suffer for the wrong reasons! Righteousness is rewarded and evil is punished! When we are persecuted for righteousness sake then we are living our faith out! We do not look for a fight! We are not to be obnoxious! If you are really living for Christ persecution will find you! However God’s power and love is greater than any persecution devised by men! Flesh and blood shall not inherit the Kingdom of God! Living for Jesus requires faith! You trust God while wicked men trust themselves! Satan thought when Jesus was on the Cross that he had won! However he crafted a net for himself! The enemies of God are always given just enough rope to hang themselves! Like Haman! Like Judas! Jesus said we are to love our enemies! How? Tell them that God so loved them that he sacrificed himself for their sin! That God so loved them that he defeated death, hell and the grave for them! Jesus was raised from the dead for them! Witness of the Jews! Isaiah 61:9

  1. And their seed, offspring, family and race will be perceived and known among the Gentiles, and their offspring among the people, nation and tribes: all that see them shall recognize and acknowledge them, that they are the seed that the Lord has blessed.  Comment: Salvation has come to the earth through the Jew! We need to be reminded of this because if forgotten history has shown us that even the church has been guilty of the persecution of the Jews! Yet congregations are very seldom reminded of this? If we are not taught the whole truth and nothing but the truth then error can enter into the church! The world will never have any problem persecuting the Jews! Did you ever observe that a right theology by the church leads to the persecution of the Jews and the church! Bad theology leads to the church  persecuting the Jews! Jesus a Jew was persecuted by the Jews not because he was a Jew but because he claimed to be God! Would the Messiah not be God? The 1st Century Jews knew the scriptures but they believed their Messiah would be a world political leader who would conquer the Romans and the world! Much like the Anti-Christ will do in the future here on earth! The true Messiah conquers through love! A sacrificial love demonstrated on the Cross! So the Jews ignorantly offered up the sacrifice that would save the world! A Jewish sacrifice offered up by the Jews! Many Jews will turn to Christ during the 7 year Tribulation period in history! The Jewish Anti-Christ will set up his world reign from the re-built Jewish Temple at Jerusalem! The False Prophet will set up his co-reign with the Anti-Christ at Rome! The False Prophet will be the one world religious ruler! My guess is it will be Islam! The Church will have been raptured by then! When the Anti-Christ proclaims he is God the Jews recognize their error! Jesus said many false Christ’s will come! A Jew who hates the Jewish Messiah has been deceived! A Jew who loves the Anti-Christ has been deceived! A Jew or a Gentile who loves the Jewish Messiah has found the truth! Your defense against the false Messiah’s of this world is the Word of God! Signs of Cultural Decline! Isaiah 5:20

Jesus said persecution will come to you if you are a follower of Christ! Many places in the world Christian martyrdom is common! However in America the assault is growing on Christian’s! Here are the steps that lead to persecution in any culture! What was once celebrated is now condemned! Some examples? Crosses, traditional marriage between a man and a woman! Bibles! Ten Commandments! American Flag! Patriotism! Legal immigration! Borders! Nationalism! Military service! Sodomy laws! Sunday worship! Free speech! Right to bare arms! Prayer in schools! Free press! Visual displays of Christ! Verbal expressions of Christ in the public places! Litigation and fines against those that support traditional values! Social media blocking of Christian content on Facebook, Google and other media forms! So if you condemn what the Bible has expressed as evil then you will not celebrate the condemned then you will be condemned by the culture politically, socially and judiciously! Reproach of Men! Isaiah 51:7

“Listen unto me carefully that you understand to discern and know righteousness. For my people are those who know my heart and inner soul of my law. Fear not the shameful displeasure of men neither be broken or despaired of their sinful rebuke.” Comment: The true commentary is we all initially opposed God! Those that have repented understand His righteousness because they understand His forgiveness! Once you understand you have sinned against God you understand His righteousness! Your night brings His light into your life! Those that live in and promote evil do not understand their error and God’s standard! God’s standard is described in your Bible but those that reject His Word reject God Himself! As described in Isaiah sinners will try to shame you and rebuke you for taking the God standard! They will sue you and drag you into court as they did with the Colorado family who refused to bake a wedding cake for a gay couple! Since Jesus is not around to spit in His face, mock Him, plant a crown of thorns on Him, whip Him bloody and nail Him to a Cross they only have you His follower to persecute! Remember on the Cross Jesus asked His Father to forgive them for they know not what they do! Why could not Jesus have forgiven them? Jesus had not yet completed His redemptive work on the Cross! After Jesus death and resurrection the way was open for His persecutors to repent! It would not be smart to reject the only God who can forgive you your sin! Light to the Gentiles! Isaiah 49:6

“And he said, It is a small thing that thou should be my servant to raise up the tribes of Jacob, and to restore the preserved of Israel. I will also give thee for enlightenment to the non-Jewish people, that thou may be my salvation unto that ends of the earth.” Comment: Why has planet earth had a history of anti-Semitism? Why the war on the Jews? Why did Hitler and Protestant and Catholic Europe persecute them? Hitler had an excuse for he worshiped Charles Darwin and Evolution but the Church? For the church I believe that it is about forgetting your roots! Spiritually the church has forgotten her foundation! When you forget your foundation you do not know where you have come from and where you are going? Like lost! Why is anti-Semitism growing in America today? Why today is the world standing against the small Nation of Israel? Why is the political and religious persecution carrying on today against the Jews? Who is behind this war on the Jews? Satan! Satan wants to extinguish the light! If Satan can get Christian’s to reject their foundation then he can control them! Spiritual wickedness in high places and the principalities and powers of darkness lead the way to hating the Jews! Judaism is the womb that birthed forth Christ! Never forget your mother and be thankful to God for her forever! If the foundations are broken down what can the righteous do? Satan knows the connection between the Jews and Christians because he created a religion named Islam and according to the Koran the followers have a duty to kill Christians and Jews!
