“A silversmith named Demetrius, who made silver shrines of Artemis, brough in a lot of business for the craftsmen there. He called them together with the workers in related trades, and said; ‘You know my friends, that they receive a good income from the business and you see this fellow Paul has convinced and led astray large numbers of people here in Ephesus and in particularly the whole province of Asia. He says that gods made with hands are no gods at all.’ Commentary: Always follow the money! The Idol makers had no problem with Paul’s evangelism until their idol shop sales dropped due to all the Idol worshippers converting to Christ! Remember truth will always cost you something because the Prince of Truth gave his all on an ugly cruel Cross for you! Jesus said I am the truth! The opposite of truth are lies! A woman has a right to kill her baby in the womb? Truth or a lie? Life is the most important gift from God we have! All our laws crafted are for the purpose of protecting life! From the Ten Commandments to the speed limit sign on the block where you live! A culture that disrespects the laws will not continue on for very long because anarchy and a complete breakdown of law and order will follow! God gave us his law to protect us! When we could not follow the law God still did in sending his Son as the perfect sacrifice fulfilling the law paying the penalty of death for our transgressions! Then raising his Son up from death on the third day to conquer the last enemy of all men ever born and that is death itself! No one can raise you up from death except God himself! He has power over death that no mortal can ever achieve! Death is a hand made god! We did that all by ourselves! We achieved it against life itself and every provision for life God made for us! He created us in his image! In his likeness! However man chose to live unlike God! In opposition to him! Abortion is in opposition to life! What drives abortion is money! Take the money away and abortion would end today! Paul realized that he had to risk everything to save the Idol worshippers of Asia! Even if he had to give his life to save life! But it was a voluntary choice he made where no baby in the womb has a choice! We must choose life for that child until it reaches the age of accountability to make it’s own choices! A few years ago a Hollywood celebrity suddenly lost his wife to an illness! He asked this Pastor to do the funeral service! He also asked him if he could have the mic during the service to give a special eulogy for her! Sometimes a Pastor when he has to hand the mic over to a congregation member for a testimony or to someone he does not really know the fear of God moves into his heart! Then the Pastor says to himself what the heck? He is paying me a lot of money for this service and after all it is his wife! During the eulogy of his wife he made the closing remark that his wife was the best wife he ever had? A commentator later said that is what he said about all of his wives! Recently another celebrity re-married her first husband! Did she have buyers remorse? Did she bankrupt the last guy and the first guy was just coming out of recovery? I hope it works out for both of them and for the last guy she just dumped! I said all that to say this! There is only one God and he has only one Son! His name is Jesus Christ! He is faithful and true! His name is not Happy Holidays! Jesus was with his disciples for three years! Yet most of them had other gods! Judas was so in love with money it cost him his life and his eternity! Yet they did not know they had other gods until the crucifixion came! Then they ran for their lives and went into hiding! Persecution will always tell on you who you really are! This test is coming to the church in America very soon! After Jesus rose from the grave he had to seek his disciples! The two women who went to the empty tomb Mary the mother of Jesus and Mary Magdalene were faithful! Hats off to the ladies! Jesus found Peter along the seashore back to his fishing occupation! Jesus told Peter he would make him fishers of men! All the disciples came back repented and became pillars in the Christian church! You may feel you have failed God in some way! Some little god got in your way! God will never give up on you! Just do not give up on God! Wait in patience in whatever trial you are going through and he will prove to you he is faithful!
