Treasure in Heaven? Upon the Earth?

Matthew 6:19-21 Comment: So what is the difference between earth and heaven? What did Jesus mean here? You might think you know the difference but let us look at the Greek root words used for these two English words! The word earth means the dust part of the earth! It does not include the above ground earth! However we are made from the dust of the earth! We will return to the dust of the earth! All the elements in the human body are found in the dust of the earth! Science confirms the scriptures of your Bible! The word heaven used here is also interesting because this word used here by Jesus means in a physical sense! It means the all embracing heaven beneath which is the earth. What does the word heart mean? It means every thought, reasoning, understanding, will, judgment, designs, affections, love, hatred, fear, joy, sorrow and anger of a human being! We cannot hide our heart from God! This is reason alone to repent of our sin! Misplaced values of the heart will lead to wrong choices! So what did Jesus mean when we put all these three words together? Jesus was saying do not invest your life in dust! Your earthly treasures will perish with your body! Jesus is saying the eternal part of us will never perish! It is your soul, mind and eternal body! Jesus will one day raise us from the dead! To invest treasures in heaven means to invest in souls here in the earth! Use your resources to reach people for Christ! This is why our Pastor Cope Sunday had an emphasis on Vacation Bible School for our children! This is why he had a Gideon’s International speaker at the pulpit to fund Bible distribution world wide! If you go after money and not soul’s you will become spiritually bankrupt! Separated from God! Will your treasure perish with you or grow the Kingdom of God here on earth? Do You Understand? Luke 24:45

Greek Translation: ‘Then Jesus opened up their understanding or mental and intellectual perception. He stirred up and agitated their minds and comprehension. He caused them to hear and perceive God’s thoughts with their thoughts so that they could measure the scriptures against their own thoughts and actions.” Comment: It is interesting that the Greek word for “scriptures”, is the word graphe from which we get our English word graph! So what is a graph for? What purpose? It is used to measure and compare things! We need to measure and compare our life to the Word of God! To be honest when we do this we come up short! Lacking! At a loss! Missing link! So how can we measure up? If we look at a graph of ten motor vehicles comparing gas mileage you might want to buy the one that gets the most gas mileage! However if you look at another graph that shows this vehicle has the highest maintenance repairs and another graph that shows this vehicle also has the highest fatality rate then you might change your mind? I can measure my life against other men and I may look good but by other men I look like a failure! The Apostle Paul said it is unwise to compare among men! If I have a compass I can find north and find my way by the standard for direction! How does my life rank against the standard of God? If honest I can only fall at His feet asking for forgiveness and mercy! Then Jesus said we must forgive others as He has forgiven us! If you do not do this you block your own forgiveness! So how do we meet the standard set by God? We cannot in and of ourselves! Our standard was provided to us by God Himself! Through His Son Jesus Christ! God paid the penalty for our sin at the Cross! When we accept His standard in His Son’s sacrifice for our sin then we are forgiven! If we reject the standard of the sinless Savior then we stand naked before God with no covering! We will one day stand before a Holy God Jesus Christ who will judge the living and the dead! If we look at a graph and compare the life of Jesus to ourselves all we can do is bow our knee and confess with our tongue that Jesus Christ is Lord! Jesus is Watching You!

A burglar broke into a home late at night and climbed through a window with his flashlight and began going through the rooms looking for jewelry and cash! He was sure the family was out of the house? He came to the living room in the dark and began going through drawers looking for treasure! Suddenly this voice seemed to come out of nowhere and said, “Jesus is watching you!” He shined his flashlight around the room and saw nothing? Again the second and third time this voice spoke out into the darkness? The thief thought was he losing his mind from guilt or was Jesus really here? He again shined his flashlight across the room and to his relief was a parrot’s cage! However as he shined his light to the bottom of the stand of the cage he saw the white sparkling fangs of a large Pit Bull. The parrot cried out one last time, “Go get him Jesus!” Pastor Greg Laurie

The Fool Has Said in His Heart——-Psalm 14:1

The fool has said in his heart there is no God! This is not all the verse but we will start here. So what is a fool? Do they just live in Washington D.C.? It means to be stupid, silly, dull as one taught by idols! We have a Television show named American Idol. An idol is man made then worshiped by man as God! In other words it is self-worship! A fool means to dishonor, come to nought, disgraceful, perverse, dishonorable, wicked and to fall away! Sounds like a Democrat? It also means to be dull, absurd and crippled! Handicapped! It also means to be fat! A fat head! Now the fool said in his heart! The heart is the immaterial inner self. It is the seat of the mind and the soul. It is the eternal part of us that will live beyond the grave! This is why Jesus said we must be born again! The eternal part of us must be transformed before death for whatsoever state that is at death continues on forever! That is why soul winning is urgent! It goes on to say they are corrupt meaning they are spoiled, decayed, perverted and come to ruin! They have done abominable works! That is to cause fear, disgust and are detestable! They are hostile towards all authority! None of them do good works! Good means to be kind and morally correct! What about those that claim they know God but do evil? Christmas is a Spirit!

Christmas is not a time nor season but a state of mind. To cherish peace and goodwill, to be plenteous in mercy, is to have the real spirit of Christmas! President Glover Cleveland (1872-1933)  Comment: Let Christ dwell in you in His fullness this Christmas and forever! Ignore the spirits of Anti-Christ who murder people and try to remove Christmas tree’s and children’s Christmas skits and plays! Signs of Abandoning God? Gays and Lesbians!

Romans 1:18, 24-32. For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness of men who hold the truth in unrighteousness. Wherefore God also gave them up uncleanness through the lusts of their own hearts, to dishonor their own bodies between themselves. Who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and served the creature more than the creator, who is blessed forever. Amen. For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature. And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another ; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompense of their error which was meet. And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient. Being filled with all unrighteousness, fornication, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness, full of envy, murder, debate, deceit, malignity and whispers. Backbiters, haters of God, despiteful, proud, boasters, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents. Without understanding, covenant breakers, without natural affections, implacable, and unmerciful. Who knowing the judgment of God, that they which commit such things are worthy of death, not only do the same, but have pleasure in them that do them.

Christmas Gift? Seal of God! Revelation 9:4

Remember in Revelation 5:1, the word book translated Bible in the Greek. The Bible in Heaven is sealed with 7 seals. Only one is worthy to open these seals is Jesus Christ! The Bible is not sealed here on earth but open to all who will receive it. When Jesus opens the seven seals in Heaven judgment is released on men on the earth. Now let us fast forward to Revelation 9:4. God’s judgment misses those on earth who have the seal of God in their foreheads! Notice it does not say on their foreheads but in their foreheads! This simply means those who have the mind of Christ and are sealed by the word of God which is the Holy Bible. Christmas is about the word of God becoming flesh! Christ born into the earth! The word of God defends us from the judgments of God and seals us from unrighteousness! We have no better defense and no better offence to win the battles before us! Beach Wedding

Would you like a beautiful wedding under the ocean sky? Let your colors be selected by your Creator! Let us begin with a turquoise sky contrasted by a white sand beach. Decide your water colors depending on the time of day. As the sun rises and sets over this occasion let the orange ball of light speak of eternity as it’s color spectrum dances in your mind. Let the sound of waves provide your music. Even the hermit crabs will come out of their homes and see this occasion. The clams will clap their shells in approval. The sea gulls and pelicans will get a bird’s eye view. They may even take a day off from fishing. The dolphins will break the surface to catch a glimpse. A sea foam green carpet stretched from the gazebo to the water will provide continuity. A guest book for surfers and beach bums would be polite. A bare foot dance in the sand would be down to earth. When the crabs come out to dance with you things are getting right. Let your gown, slippers and jewelry match your creation. Sea food should be on the menu. Let your wedding cake match your neighborhood. Let your mind with the creativity God has given you compliment your Creator! Please do not forget your departure time for your cruise ship.
