What Does Heaven Look Like? Revelation Chapter 4

Revelation 4:1 “After this I looked, and behold, a door was opened up in heaven; and the first voice was like a trumpet talking with me, which said, come up hither; and I will show you things which must be hereafter.” Commentary” Revelation chapter four is not the only place heaven is described in your Bible but a beautiful show here! Verse one is an introduction! A trumpet is used to announce a King! It is also used to announce judgments as in the 7 plagues upon the earth found in this same Book of Revelation! John is invited to heaven! Some of his reward for suffering under Caesar! What is the hereafter? Heaven and also the end times signs! Remember the Feast of the Trumpet in the Old Testament? The end times will bring the end of human rule and the absolute rule of Christ on earth after his second coming! History has shown us the rule of men has not gone well! Plagues! Wars! Famines! Death! Destruction! Persecutions of God’s elect! We can either trust God or man! Man will betray you but not God! He is faithful to deliver you out of all your troubles! When we are wounded by the sin of men we better understand the wounds taken on by Christ at the Cross for our sin! He was wounded for our transgressions! When these wounds were given to Christ for us he can promote us into his Kingdom! Forgive and love your enemies! Wounds inflicted by ourselves and others humble us! The Apostle John wrote the Book of Revelation while in prison! A prisoner on a remote Isle of Patmos working as a slave laborer in a stone quarry! He was placed on a rock pile! His night job was writing the Book of Revelation! John by vision was able to look into the future! We must do the same when the present days are so perplexing! God holds your future! Jesus said I go to prepare a place for you and I am coming again! There is a purpose in suffering! The Kingdom of God is a sacrificial system beginning with the suffering of God on a Cross for you! Either God or sin will control you! You can reject your sin and choose Christ or you can reject Christ and miss heaven defaulting to hell! It is up to you! Your future depends on one choice! What is Retirement Like?

Since being retired for 23 years you notice things about yourself! I notice that I drink several cups of sleepy time tea during daylight hours? I complain the mail man is never on time! I send several house payments in ahead of time in case I forget! I complain about the weather even though I am not in it! I wish Christmas would get here in January! I have promised my wife to vacuum the rug last year! I tell the guests in January that the cob webs will come down after halloween! I have two clocks in the same room with different times an hour apart so I do not have to change advancing or retarding by one hour every year! I leave the Christmas decorations up all year long! I look the other way when I see dust! The thought of inviting a guest requiring house cleaning depresses me! I kill roaches with a BB gun! The thought of ever having to move tires me! I get my carnival kicks riding my stair lift! I do not separate laundry anymore! Just throw the mixed bag into the wash! It will all come out in the wash! My tax preparer tells me it is too early to file! I love the winter when the grass does not grow! When my furnace blower starts I get a cloud of dust off my venetian blinds! I make my bed when I feel like it. I answer all spam calls to make conversation. Just a few changes you will begin to notice in your retirement years!

Rag Doll Election Cycle?

Remember the 1960’s era song by the Four Season’s? Remember the lyrics? She wore hand-me-downs. They laughed when she came into town. Called her “Rag Doll.” Such a pretty face she should have been dressed in lace. If I could change her sad rags into glad rags I would. My folk’s won’t let me because they say she is no good. I love you just the way you are. Though I love her so I can’t let her know. She is a ‘Rag Doll.” Comment: Every election cycle the politicians drag their rag doll out of the closet! Jesus name gets thrown around like a rag doll. Donald Trump went to church last week! Congregation members said it has been years since they have seen him? Remember when Obama said he was a Christian? After November Jesus will be thrown back under the bed for another four years! The Democratic contender’s are really mute on Jesus this election cycle mostly because they are pagan’s! In America we have to learn to endure the election process! Thankyou. James and Hamsa Sasse. What Does Christmas Look Like?

What does Christmas look like? It has hands to help others. It has feet to hasten to the poor and needy. It has eyes to see misery and want. It has ears to hear the sighs and sorrows of men. Identity Theft!

The Latin and Old French roots to the word identity mean the condition of being the same with something described or asserted. Your thought’s, idea’s and perspectives allow people to determine who you are. The truth is we try to be like someone else. Either your father, mother, grandpa, grandma, brother, sister, uncle, aunt, teacher, pastor, ect. Someone who tries Identity theft on you tries to be the same as you with the same bio-data such as date of birth, social security number, account numbers, ect. Most people only care about what you have not who you are! If they think you do not have much then they leave you alone. God cares about who you are! Character counts with God! In fact He cares so much that He through His Son Jesus Christ identified with your sin on the Cross so that you could identify with Him and have the power to live like Christ! Lucifer lost his identity in being like God in his rebellion against God. Then Satan took his new identity of being unGodly and tries to get people to try to live their lives without God! Our true identity to be like God was stolen through identity theft by Satan. When we come to Christ we get our Godly identity back and the power to live in righteousness and not in sin. Then Satan and his family moves away from us because he does not want to live like us and be like God. If you have rejected Christ then your identity has been stolen and you try to live like others who are not following Him! All of us will try to live like someone else! Only one can lead us to paths of joy, peace and eternal life Only one can save you while all others will fail you!
