Since being retired for 23 years you notice things about yourself! I notice that I drink several cups of sleepy time tea during daylight hours? I complain the mail man is never on time! I send several house payments in ahead of time in case I forget! I complain about the weather even though I am not in it! I wish Christmas would get here in January! I have promised my wife to vacuum the rug last year! I tell the guests in January that the cob webs will come down after halloween! I have two clocks in the same room with different times an hour apart so I do not have to change advancing or retarding by one hour every year! I leave the Christmas decorations up all year long! I look the other way when I see dust! The thought of inviting a guest requiring house cleaning depresses me! I kill roaches with a BB gun! The thought of ever having to move tires me! I get my carnival kicks riding my stair lift! I do not separate laundry anymore! Just throw the mixed bag into the wash! It will all come out in the wash! My tax preparer tells me it is too early to file! I love the winter when the grass does not grow! When my furnace blower starts I get a cloud of dust off my venetian blinds! I make my bed when I feel like it. I answer all spam calls to make conversation. Just a few changes you will begin to notice in your retirement years!

Retirement 26 Years!
On my birthday this month of April we have completed 26 years of retirement! So how did I do it? I did not do it! God did it for me! When I came to Christ 47 years ago he sent me on a trajectory never achievable on my own! He supplied all my needs according to his riches in glory! He commissioned me into his ministry ever since I received Christ into my life! He sent the right people into my life beginning with my precious wife Hamsa! Together we serve him! During this pandemic God has reminded me of our blessings! To live is Christ and to die is gain! That verse is in your Bible! Read it and believe it! Whether I live or die I gain! In the world system it is always on you to gain! To trust Christ is freedom! Freedom from the slavery of sin! Because of Christ Martin Luther King Jr. could say, “Free at last.” The freedom in Christ lasts forever! Start your eternity with him on earth here today! Comment: It is obvious whether the 2nd Century or the 21st Century that Christmas does bring out the best in us and the worst in people! People like then or now are living on the edge of eternity! It has been said people all die sooner than expected! Where is you expectation placed? In this world? I do not watch Fox News on a regular basis but last night at the evening meal we tuned in! They had the “Five”, on and the subject of Christmas was brought up! Being a conservative network I thought this would be interesting! I was in for surprise! One of the five said I do not believe the Christmas story! Another confirmed his belief! One of the ladies spoke up and said, “Well, it is good to know something about Christmas because it can help you in your career!” Really? Career? She should ask Bill O’reilly and others that have fallen before her! They are like mental patients looking out through the bars of their windows planning what they will do after retirement! The Christmas scrooge is alive and well! Christmas brings our in people their spiritual condition! A career is really what we will do for all eternity! What are we going to do forever? How you begin your eternal career depends on what you with Christ here while living here on earth! You can live to appease the political correct crowd but you will be corralled with them in the same pen! Should I bring up Hell during Christmas? Without Hell Christmas is meaningless! I thought I would mention it since I do not hear it from the American pulpits anymore? Jesus said if you deny me before men I will deny you before the Father! Sorry God does have a gender! If you do not believe the virgin birth then you will not believe anything about Christ! You then believe the lie there is no Heaven and no Hell. Believing one lie about God will cause you to promote other lies about God! Do not ignore the largest part of your eternity and sell out your birthright for some manna! A career separated from God for eternity is the worst Christmas gift you could ever acquire! Receive His gift of eternal life and change your destiny! Ray Lewis and the Baltimore Ravens!
Ray Lewis started the Superbowl in Faith and ended it in Faith in God! At the beginning of the game during the coin toss he called heads! Why? Because the Bible says we are the head and not the tail! After the Raven’s won the super bowl he said, “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.” Ray ended his 13 year career in the NFL with a victory! Faith in Who? Faith in What? Ephesians Chapter 3 Verses 11-12
I have translated the two verses above by going back to the original Greek and then reinserting the English translation from Greek back into the text. Verse 11 and 12 reads as follows; According to the past, present and future intension by visibly showing forth something which He purposed in Christ Jesus our Lord. In whom we have boldness and admission with reliance by the belief in the truth of salvation by Christ. God has given every man a measure of faith! Faith is a Gift from God! So our Faith is not really my faith or your faith but God’s Faith! This is the Faith Paul is speaking about. Not faith in yourself, wife, husband, bank account, job, father, mother, son, daughter, government, retirment, church, pastor but Faith in God! Faith in Jesus Christ alone secures our Salvation both now and forever and nothing else will! Although our family, jobs, ect, are important to us they must never be idols in worship before God!
