Grandma had a daughter who gave birth to a cute little granddaughter! Little Mary loved grandma very much! Mom brought her over to grandma’s to spend the night. Mom told little Mary she had to be in bed by 8:00 PM. Grandma announced to Mary it was now time to go to bed! Little Mary said no grandma! I do not have to go to bed now! Is God a Show Off? 2 Kings 5:11-14
Naaman the Captain of the Syrian Army had trouble following simple directions! Can i get a witness? First of all he was informed by his Jewish servant girl who was captured and made a slave through the spoils of war that there was a God in Israel who could heal his leprocy! Then Naaman sends money to the King of Israel trying to buy his healing? The King of Israel rent his clothes saying am i God? So Naaman mounts up his chariots with his army and heads for Israel! He stops his chariot at the front door of the Prophet Elisha! Elisha does not go out to meet the Captain but sends his servant girl out to tell him to dip in the Jordan River seven times! Naaman lost his cool! Naaman thought God would come down in a bolt of lightning and make a big show for the world to see! Like dazzle the elite! The Bible says Naaman left in a rage! Are there not better rivers in Syria? Well more servants saved the day! Naaman’s servants asked him why not just follow the directions? Naaman took their advice and dipped in the Jordon seven times and got healed! It was a humble little servant girl that birthed forth Jesus! The Angel went to the humble shepherds to announce the birth of Christ! God did not make a big show! He appears to a few to save many! Pride can keep you out of God’s purpose and plan for your life! About 60 years ago there was a young man dying of tuberculosis in the slums of Seoul Korea! The doctor sent him home to die! He was coughing up blood! A little teenage girl would come by each day as he lay on his cot dying and pray for him. He would insult her, spit on her and call her a Christian dog! She asked him if he would surrender his life to Christ? She kept praying and his health improved! God healed him and he started a ministry in the slums of Seoul Korea! Today this church has over one million members and is the world’s largest church! Pastor Cho commissioned us as missionaries to India from 1984-1987. Pastor Cho could never find this teenage girl even though he has looked for past 60 years? The world and even some in the church think you are wasting your time praying for the sick and dying! Stolen Treasure! 2 Kings 24:13
All the treasure of the House of the Lord that King Solomon had spent a lifetime amassing was carried off by Persian King Nebuchadnezzer of Babylon! All the gold, silver and vessels of the Temple and the King’s House were cut in pieces and carried off! What lesson can we learn from this? Hundred of years later Jesus predicted the Temple of Jerusalem would be destroyed again! About 40 years after His death and resurrection during the Roman/Jewish War (66-70A.D.), the Jewish Temple was destroyed and the treasure was carried off back to Rome along with one hundred thousand Jewish slaves! The Jewish slaves and treasure was used to build the Roman Coliseum! Then the early Christian’s were martyred in the same Coliseum! History has shown us that when Jew’s are persecuted so are the Christians! Same holds true today in 2016! The Apostle Paul talked about treasure in earthen vessels! The treasure inside each human was given to us by God! It is a gift and no human can steal it! What we do with this treasure is very important! If we claim it as our own then we are stealing treasure from God! The treasure within you is priceless and has eternal purpose! It will last forever! Our purpose in Christ is found on earth and prepares us for Heaven! Remember after death we come back to earth again with Christ for the one thousand year rule of earth following the seven year tribulation period! If you have been faithful here on the earth with the real treasure then expect greater responsibility later in His Kingdom there and when you return with Him again to earth! Thankyou. Mercy and Consequences! 2 Kings 24:3-4
These two words seem contradictory but yet they compliment each other! You cannot have one without the other! Manasseh repented and found Mercy from God for his sins he committed but God did not remove the consequences of what he had done. (2 Chronicles 33:12-13) For Christ to forgive the world of sin their were consequences for Him! It is called the Cross at Calvary! Physical death is still a consequence for the human family for the sin of our first parents Adam and Eve! If you or i had been the first parents we would have done the same thing! However for those in Christ death is not permanent for Jesus has promised to raise us from the dead as He was raised from the dead for us! Consequences in life are real but not permanent! The joy of our salvation has overcome the fear of sin and death! God’s love has overcome our evil! His love has removed our guilt and shame! History and Faith! Joshua 10:12-13
If the Lord did stay the sun for a whole day then this should show up in historical records of other cultures because it would affect the whole earth! The records of the Chinese during the reign of Emperor Yeo, who lived at the same time as Joshua reports a ‘long day’. Heroditus, a Greek historian wrote that an account of a ‘long day’appears in the records of Egyptian priests! Another record in Mexico reports the same standing still for an entire day denoted as ‘seven rabits’, which is the same year as Joshua defeated the Philistines! The historical record of the Aztecs, Peruvians and Babylonians speak of a ‘day of twice natural length’. History and science support our Bible and it is the most dependable literature in existence! Gays and Abortion! 2 Kings 23:7-10
King Josiah of Judah was a reformer! Previous Kings or political leaders established evil as the acceptable behavior! Jerusalem and the surrounding country was polluted with high places of idol worship and wicked lifestyles! Josiah took action and destroyed the high places and the wicked priests! Verse seven says he broke down the houses of the wicked sodomites that were located by the House of the Lord! Homosexual prostitutes set up their operations next to the House of Worship! Today in America they are in the House of the Lord! They are ordained priests in the church! It goes on in verse 10 that Josiah destroyed the Temples of Moloch! Moloch was a god that required child sacrifice for worship! The Altar of Abortion sacrifices millions of children in America! The children are murdered with our tax money! The decline of America that Obama wants is coming to pass! It will be replaced with a one world government as our Bible predicts! There will be no borders for sovereign states! Then as the anti-christ and the false prophet control the world they will require worship from you! Your choice will be worship or death! Who will the false prophet or world religious leader be? Who will be the anti-christ be? We know from scripture that the anti-christ will rule from Jerusalem and the false prophet from Rome! We know the anti-christ will be a Jew and will be a homosexual! I believe the false prophet will be a Muslim! A Jew and a Muslim will rule the world for 7 years! Then Christ returns to earth to rule the earth for a thousand years! The church will be taken up to Heaven just preceding the tribulation period of seven years! Our Christ, the anti-christ and the false prophet! The good and the bad and the ugly! If Hillary takes the White House the end times prophecy will accelerate! We could easily merge into the one world system as she continues to sell out America for cash! Under her rule Islam will grow rapidly since she owes the Muslims millions of dollars worth of favors! Abortion will increase and more children sacrificed! This election is about the destiny of America! God is no respecter of persons! The righteous are saved and the wicked condemned to Hell! God does not change but we have to! Pride! 2 Kings 20:17-18
Please don’t get me wrong! King Hezekiah was a good man! God healed him from death, turned back time for him and added 15 years to his life! Pride is the most celebrated word in America but the least talked about word in the church! Gay pride day? Pride is like a bottle of poison that tastes like candy with no warning label on it! It always follows success! If you do not believe you suffer from episodes of pride then you are as blind as our first parents Adam and Eve! We have ten words for pride in the Hebrew and three words in the Greek in our Bible. Here are some definitions for pride from these root words; Arrogancy, swelling, pomp, haughtiness, loftiness, elation, grandeur, proud, raging, exhaultation, presumption, self-confident boasting, smoke without flame or smoltering, and ties and binding. Remember Samson got tied! The word i have not listed yet is the one i like best! Pride means to turn your back! Some people turn their back on God! Peter did! I don’t know him? Jesus did not turn his back on Peter! Have people turned their backs on you? Friends or family? Church members or a Priest or Pastor? Have we turned our backs on them? I have asked Jesus why i should try to establish a relationship with them? Jesus asked me do i want to be like them or like me? The Middle Eastern Christians who were beheaded this past two years did not turn their backs on Jesus! Do we turn our backs on the poor, widows, orphans and single moms? After success King Hezekiah showed off his wealth to the Babylonians! After this Isaiah warned him that this would result in Babylonian captivity and his sons would live in their palace court as eunuchs! We believe Daniel was a eunuch in the court there during their 70 year captivity however it did not impede his Prophetic words as recorded in our Bible! Pride was the very first sin and the sin that causes us to turn our backs on God and others! Humble yourself that you may turn people’s heart towards God!
