Webster Dictionary Preface 1828

“In my view, the Christian religion is the most important and one of the first things in which all children, under a free government ought to be instructed. No truth is more evident to my mind than that the Christian religion must be the basis of any government intended to secure the rights and privileges of a free people.” Noah Webster

Is Sunday School Important?

“I can truly say, and in saying it I magnify the infinite Grace of God as bestowed upon him, that I have never seen few persons whose minds were spiritually darker than was his when he came into my Sunday School class; and I think that the committee of the Mount Vernon Church seldom met an applicant for membership more unlikely ever to become a Christian of clear and decided views of Gospel truth, still less to fill an extended sphere of public usefulness!” Edward Kimt, Sunday School Teacher, Congregational Church of Mount Vernon, Boston Massachusetts 1856. Comment: Edward wrote this letter to the Pastor of Mount Vernon describing one of his students! The student name was Dwight L. Moody (1837-1899) Dwight L. Moody became the founder of Moody Bible Institute in Chicago and one of the most powerful Evangelists on the North American continent! James and Hamsa Sasse. GodWhoisGod.com

Are Words Important? Luke 1:47

I think you know they are! The whole universe was created by words! Life and death are in the power of the tongue! Mary is speaking here in the Christmas story! She said in verse 47,”That all generations shall call me blessed!” The Greek translation for blessed used here says “Markarious”, the future of “Makarizo”, which really means, “They shall bless me!” So it is more than saying it is doing something! When you accepted Christ you blessed Mary! When you support Israel you bless Mary! When you take the Gospel to the ends of the earth you bless Mary! When you do these things you make her more beautiful! You make her happy and fortunate! You pronounce blessings on her when you share the Christmas story! When she looks down from Heaven on you she says you have blessed me! Merry Christmas! James and Hamsa Sasse. GodWhoisGod.com

Holy Spirit Dwelling

All church power arises from the indwelling of the Spirit, therefore those in who the Spirit dwells are the seat of Church power. But the Spirit dwells in the whole Church, and therefore the whole Church is the seat of Church power! Charles Hodge (1797-1878)  Comment: The question remains what do you do with His power? Do you use it to build His Kingdom or your own? Do you use Him to enrich others or to enrich ourselves? To give expecting nothing else in return? Do we sacrifice for others or do we sacrifice others for our own gain? To abuse His power results in a vacating of His Spirit in your life! Then you will try to fill that void with religion. Before you were saved self was on the throne. After you were saved Christ replaced you on the throne. However self will continually try to retake the throne! This is a constant battle! If others are more important than you then Christ is still on the throne in your life! Thankyou. James and Hamsa Sasse. GodWhoisGod.com

Why is Nicene Creed Important? Part 2

Earlier we discussed the importance of the Virgin birth! Only three names are mentioned in the Nicene Creed. They are Pilot, Mary and Jesus. Why? Mary and Jesus represent one Kingdom and Pilot represents another Kingdom. Two very different Kingdoms! Remember Pilot was not breaking any laws! He was the enforcer of Roman Rule using intimidation, force, fear, violence and death to enforce Roman Law! Lawful does not mean Godly! We have a higher calling! Not all laws are Christ like! Jesus was a Middle Eastern man who never spoke English. Pilot represents the law and Christ represents Grace and Truth! Not just represents but is the embodiment of Grace and Truth! The law shows us that no one except Christ can keep the law and all of humanity needs the Savior! Source: Pastor Brady Boyd, New Life Church, Colorado Springs, Colorado.
