Commentary: So who was Antipas? His name is only mentioned here in your Bible! Some historians say he was Bishop of Pergamos where also was the seat of Satan! Jesus calls him his “Faithful Witness!” How did he die? He was roasted in a brass bull idol full size replica! They built a fire under the brass belly of the bull and threw him in! He is in the Hall of Fame of Christian Saints who would not deny their faith in Christ! Read Luke 9:23-24 and be reminded Antipas did not forget the scriptures but lived them out! Sadly among those here in America few if any Pastors would do this! It is all about money! He That Overcometh! Revelation 2:11
Comment: Jesus repeated this over and over again to the church! He that overcometh I will give the crown of life! He that overcometh will escape the second death! What does the word really mean? Let us go to the Greek root word. The word is “Nikao”. The word means to subdue and conquer! To have success in victory! The Greek root word also has a root word! It is the word “Niki”. You got it! It is the athletic foot wear company named Nike! It means conquest! If you are in the body of Christ and believe you will never have a fight with the devil in this life you are in denial! You are in “La La” Land! This life in your generation just as in all preceding generations is a battle between good and evil! You can try to ignore it but it will not go away! You can wish it away? You can try to isolate it away? You can try to spend it away? However you have to join a team and play! Your team can win but you must fight the good fight of faith and face your enemy! Jesus has given you the tools to overcome! To win the victory! His Word! His Spirit! His power! His love! We conquer in Christ’s name! Satan was conquered on the Cross! However in his stupidity he thinks he can still win! He will try to take as many down as he can in defeat! This week a young man went on a mission trip to a remote island where a remote tribe lived! He was martyred! Others will follow to take the Gospel to the ends of the earth! This missionary gave his all to take the Gospel into all the world! If I live my life sheltered, protected, financially secure, and die of old age in this condition I have wasted my life for nothing! The church of Jesus Christ is a conquering army! It is an offensive army! We have real sacrifices and we take some casualties in this war against evil! But we win and will eat of the Tree of Life forever! Christmas Message from the Martyred! 150 A.D.
Since we find it recorded in the memoirs of the Apostles that he is the Son of God, and since we call him the Son, we have understood that he proceeded before all creatures from the Father by the power of his will…. and that he became man by the virgin, in order that the disobedient which proceeded from the serpent might receive its destruction in the same way it devised its origin. For Eve, who was a virgin and undefiled, have conceived by the word of the serpent, brought forth disobedience and death. But the virgin received faith and joy when the Angel Gabriel announced the good news to her that the Spirit of the Lord would come upon her and the power of the highest would overshadow her. Comment: This is why Jesus said we must be born again! We as descendants of Eve can never live right before men and God! It is impossible because we were conceived by our ancestors who believed the word of Satan rather than the Word of God! Sin produces sin! We cannot just be born once! The virgin birth makes it possible to be born again! The choice is up to you! You can believe your ancestors or you can believe the Word of God! First Christian Martyr in Colosseum? 107 AD
The first Christian martyr in the Roman Colosseum was Ignatius the Bishop of Antioch! Remember the believers were first called Christians at Antioch! Emperor Trajan forced the Christians to choose between the pagan Roman gods and death! Sounds like Islam? Islam came along about 550 years later. The Colosseum is the largest Amphitheater ever built! Where did the Romans get the money and labor to build it? Rome usually got their money from their conquests! This was no exception. They got their money and labor to build this huge project from Israel. The Roman/Jewish war from 66-70 AD resulted in the destruction of the Jewish Temple and the slaughter of tens of thousands! Rome destroyed the Jewish Temple and took all the gold back to Rome! They also brought back one hundred thousand Jewish slaves that built the Colosseum! Remember Jesus predicted some 40 years earlier that not one stone would stand on the Temple grounds! How did this happen? When the Romans burned the Temple the heat from the fire melted the precious metals and flowed down through the foundation stones! So the Romans took down every block of the walls looking for the gold! Ignatius was thrown to the lions in the Colosseum! Then thousands of Christians followed him in history at the Colosseum! History has shown us that when Jews are persecuted Christian persecution will follow! The good news is that about 350 years later Rome became the Headquarters for the Christian Faith! Angel of Peace?
The Pope recently called Palestinian leader Abbas an angel of peace? Which angel was the Pope talking about? Is it Michael, Gabriel or Lucifer? Last year Abbas praised the murder of a Rabbi saying the killer would go to Paradise as a martyr? This event and many others support scripture and my belief that the one world religious ruler or the false prophet that will rule from Rome will be a Muslim! The Anti-Christ who will simultaneously rule from Israel will be a Jew and a gay! How does a Jew hater and a Jew marry together and rule the earth? ISIS has two main objectives. Take down Saudi Arabia and take over Rome! They know Bible prophecy better than most Christians! The cut off of oil from Saudi Arabia to America will cause gasoline to go to $10.00 dollars per gallon and cause an economic collapse! The takeover of Rome by Islam will be even more catastrophic! Two billion Catholics will have to confess to Islam, fight or die? Notice the worldwide endorsement of gays! Is all this just another bump in the road or are we at the close of Bible prophecy? With Obama in office the bad guy’s are making their moves! Two more years with Obama will be enough time for these things to come to pass! So when is the rapture of His Church? Soon! Watch the Supreme Court ruling on gay marriage soon to be decided! It will probably be a 5-4 decision! If gay’s win this decision Pastor’s across America will be forced to perform gay marriages and deny their Faith or refuse and go to jail! In these last days God is sorting out his true followers! Christ Promotes Beheaded Christians! Revelation 20:4
John the Baptist was beheaded along with James the Son of Zebedee and the Apostle Paul. How many Christians have been beheaded since Christ in history? It is in the millions! The Koran allows Muslims to behead unbelievers! We do not have the exact number of Christians beheaded in Iraq and Syria this past year but it estimated in the thousands! This includes women and children! We have millions of Christians who have left these area’s with just the clothes on their backs! Christ promises that during His millennial reign this special group of people will reign with Him during this one thousand year period! If John the Baptist is the least in the Kingdom of God we know that Jesus does not give away promotions! I am not saying you should have a Martyr complex but let God take you to the pinnacle of His will and purpose for your life wherever that leads!
