Many Jewish commentators believe the secret of Judah’s Blessings are implicit in the Hebrew meaning of his name. When his mother gave birth to him she said, “This time I will give thanksgiving to the Lord!” Therefore she called his name Judah. Judah is taken from the Hebrew word Hodah which means giving thanks. The Jews gave the world two significant things! An awareness of God and the concept of gratitude! Aldous Huxley wrote, “Most human beings have an almost infinite capacity for taking things for granted.” Jewish life fights against this. The Talmud says, “If someone lacks this trait of thankfulness this person is not in fact a Jew!” Many Christian’s cannot do the math when it comes to counting our Blessings! It is interesting that today in Israel the only two tribes left is Judah and Benjamin! The Priestly tribe Levite is still there also. The other tribes were lost over time through persecution and exile. Why has Judah the tribe of Jesus Christ survived to this day? Could it had been from the attitude that bore their name? Gay Pride? Leviticus 18:22
Thou shall not lie with mankind as with womankind; it is an abomination! Why is God homophobic? Simply God hates sin! God loves and hates! Otherwise He would not be God! Satan hates the good and loves the evil! The Bible makes this so clear even a child can understand it! What is an abomination? The Hebrew word translates as something that is morally disgusting to God! The word is primarily understood in the context of the Law. To love people is to tell them the truth! To be a gay basher would be to tell them that their lifestyle is good and we will make laws contrary to God’s law so you can feel good about your sin! We cannot ignore the elephant in the room! God is love and He so loved the world that He gave His only Son as a sacrifice for our sin so that we may have the power to live a righteous life before God and before men! Thankyou. God Repented? Genesis 6:6
The controversy of this scripture and Exodus 32:14 and Numbers 23:19, is the result of the translation of the word “Repented”, from the Hebrew to the English! You can research this yourself using any Strong’s Exhaustive Concordance. The word repented in the Hebrew means to be sorry. In the New testament the word “Repented”, in the Greek means to think differently or change your mind. The same two words in the English “Repented” used in both the Old and New Testament have entirely different meanings! God was sorry that He had made man! This is not a good testimony for the human race! But Noah found Grace in the sight of God! A man can feel sorry for his sin but never repent in the New Testament sense! In Exodus 32:14, the literal translation is: “The Lord was sorry of the evil which He spoke to do unto His people.” The English word “thought”, is the word “spoke” in the Hebrew. Moses in the previous verse reminded God of the promises He had made to the Jews. The slaughter came to the camp with 3 thousand slain! Forty years in the wilderness took out an entire generation! But God preserved a remnant to keep His promise! In Numbers 23:19 it says; “God is not a man that He should lie. Neither the son of man that he should be sorry! Shall He not do what He has spoken and shall He not make it good?” God’s promises are sure to us and He has saved a remnant out of the earth! I am sure I have made God sorry in my life but I have changed my mind and think differently now! If God changed His mind He would have pulled Jesus from the Cross! Don’t make God sorry today but repent and Christ will rejoice with you in your new life! Thankyou. James and Hamsa Sasse. GodWhoisGod.com
Slaves become Wealthy and Wealthy become Slaves!
His ways are past finding out! I want to do a literal translation from the Hebrew of Proverbs 13:22 and Exodus 3: 21-22. Here we go! Proverbs: A good man takes property as a permanent possession and gives it to his children and grandchildren and the strength and influence of an army who fail any task or endeavor is laid up for the just. Exodus: I will give this people kindness in the sight of the Egyptians; and it shall come to pass that when you go you should not go away empty. But every women shall ask of her neighbor of those that dwell as foreigners in their house, jewels of silver and gold and clothes and you shall put them on your sons and your daughters and you shall be delivered from the Egyptians. Comment: Once the Jews crossed the Red Sea they turned the gold into a golden calf or idol and then they became slaves for 40 years! Slaves 400 plus 40 years! God was Faithful to accomplish His promises as the Jews now live the land of Israel today that God promised to them! Prosperity and wealth without God turns into a curse! You become your worst enemy! The condition of the heart must be right to receive any Blessings that will last now and forever! Judas thought 30 pieces of silver was a greater treasure than eternal life with Jesus Christ! Wealth is an enemy if it controls you and owns you! Give your all to Christ as He has given His all to you and he will Bless you beyond anything you could do for yourself because simply you cannot save yourself! Thankyou. “I AM That I AM” Exodus 3:14
The Hebrew word, “Hayath” means to exist, to be, to become, to happen, to come to pass and to be done! An important point here is the word is a verb and not a noun! The name represents action! The word suggests the timelessness of God who is the foundation of all existence. In Revelation 1:4, it is said of Christ, “Him which is, and which was, and which is to come.” Jesus said in John 8:58, “Before Abraham was, I AM.” This Greek word, “Eimi” for “AM”, is also a verb of existence, to be and to have existence. Action initiated by God created life both yesterday, today and forever! We can trust in Christ who pre-existed time and is allowing time to redeem us! Thankyou. James and Hamsa Sasse. GodWhoisGod.com
Dreams! Genesis Chapter 41
The word dreams in the Hebrew means to bind firmly! It can also mean a sense of dumbness! I must dream all the time! The Greek word defines a dream as a vision within a dream. The Bible talks about visions and dreams! The English Webster defines a dream as an image or conception of something. It also can mean to deceive as a ghost. Certainly a dream would have a sense of dumbness unless it were properly interpreted. I am sure we have all had dreams where we were dumbfounded as to the meaning? I remember having a dream about New York City about 6 months prior to 9-11. In this dream I was walking around in the streets of New York and seeing these piles of white powder all over the place? Since I had no one to interpret the dream it did nothing to preclude the attack! I only understood the dream after the attack and then I was not surprised by it! When we were called to the mission field back in the 1980’s we did not know what country we should go too? We thought about Mexico. Then through many visions and dreams God revealed to us He wanted us to go to India! Joseph had the ability to interpret dreams! He interpreted the dreams of the chief butler, the chief baker and then the dreams of Pharaoh of Egypt! Joseph got it right to the saving of the people of Egypt and for his own family from the famine! If you do not get an immediate interpretation of a dream then wait on God and He will find another believer to help you or through events He will show or confirm the dream to you! Joseph’s brothers would mock Joseph about being a dreamer yet by his dreams they were saved from destruction! Thankyou. James and Hamsa Sasse. GodWhoisGod.com
Good Friday Preparations! Genesis 22:2
The word offering in the Hebrew (Alah), means to ascend, rise up, lift oneself up, ascension to a higher place, to cause to burn (smoke ascends). It involves preferring one thing above another. This verb is used in relationship to a person’s appearance before God! Abraham was tested and asked to sacrifice his only son too God. When Isaac his son asked Abraham where was the sacrifice Abraham told Isaac God would provide one. Abraham built an altar and bound Isaac on the wood for the sacrifice! Abraham raised his knife to sacrifice Isaac! This reminds me of Peter raising his fisherman’s knife to take off the servant’s ear! Peter was protecting the sacrifice! An angel appeared and stopped Abraham and commended him for his Faith! God provided a Ram for the sacrifice. Remember by definition an offering is preferring one thing above another. What is it that you prefer above another? Is it God or something else? As we approach Good Friday it is only good because God preferred you above another! Yes, above His only Son! A sacrifice that was consumed that would only please God for you! Thankyou. James and Hamsa Sasse. GodWhoisGod.com
Hebrew? Genesis 14:13
Abram was first called a Hebrew in this passage. The name Hebrew means to cross over or pass over. We as Christian’s are immigrants because we belong to another world! The Jews crossed over into the Promised land! Our citizenship is in Heaven as we pass through this world! Heaven is our home as Jesus has promised to prepare a place for us. Do you live as though you are a stranger in a foreign land? Politics and world troubles do not bother me too much for they are side shows as I focus on my real home with my King that awaits there! In the meantime Jesus has promised us the Holy Spirit! Our purpose here is to point people to another world who has a King and a Kingdom waiting for them! We want them to cross over from death unto life as we have! The Cross has given us a Passover from sin to righteousness. There are two ways of living this life with two very different outcomes! One way is through the Cross with redemption working in every area of our life! The other way is to reject the Cross and suffer separation from God! Moses crossed over the Red Sea and Joshua crossed over the Jordan River! Today Israel stands as a nation a testimony to God’s faithfulness! Do you need to cross over in your life from drugs, addictions, fear and hopelessness? Then go to the Cross! Christ will take your burdens off you and He will carry them for you! What are you waiting for? In Christ’s Love. James and Hamsa Sasse GodWhoisGod.com
What was the First Language Spoken on Earth?
The question would ask another question! What language did Adam and Eve speak and then ultimately this must have been the language God gave them! Hebrew is classified as a Semitic (or Shemitic, from Shem, the son of Noah) language. Was Hebrew just one of the many Semitic languages such as Canaanite, Aramaic, Phoenician, Akkadian, ect., that evolved out of a more ancient unknown language? Or was Hebrew and the Semitic family of languages, the original language of man? According to the Bible all people spoke one language (Genesis 11:1) until the construction of the Tower of Babel, in southern Mesopotania which occurred sometime around 4000 B.C. During the construction of the Tower, God confused the language of man and scattered the nations (Genesis 11:7-8). It is at this time the Sumerians (from the land of Sumer, known as Shinar in the Bible-Genesis 10:10, speaking non-Semitic, appear in southern Mesopotania. It is believed the Sumerians are related to the people living between the Black and Caspian Seas, known as Scythians, descendants of Noah’s son Japheth. At approximately the same time the Sumerians appeared in Mesopotania, another civilization emerges in the south, the Egyptians. The original language of the Egyptians is Hamitic (from Ham, the second son of Noah) and also unrelated to the Semitic languages. During the time of the Sumerians and the Egyptians, the Semitic peoples lived in Sumeria and traveled west into Canaan. It would appear that after the Tower of Babel, the descendants of Japheth traveled north with their language, the descendants of Ham traveled southwest with their language and the Semites traveled west with their language. The point of origin from these languages is Babylon or the Tower of Babel. What was the first language spoken prior to the Tower of Babel? When God created Adam He spoke to him (Genesis 2:16) indicating that God gave Adam a language and that this language came from God Himself, not through any evolution of languages. When we look at all the names of Adam’s descendants we find that all the names from Adam to Noah and his children are Hebrew names, meaning that their names have a meaning in Hebrew. For instance, Methuselah (Genesis 5:21) is Hebrew for “his death brings” (The flood occurred the year that he died). It is not until we come to Noah’s grandchildren that we find names that are not Hebrew. For instance, the name Nimrod (Genesis 11:18), who was from Babylon/Sumer/Shinar and possibly the Tower of Babel, is a non-Hebrew name. According to the Biblical record of names, Adam and his descendants spoke Hebrew. In addition, Jewish tradition as well as some Christian scholars, believe that Hebrew was the original language of man! Source; Ancient-Hebrew.org Jeff A. Benner
Creation Versus Evolution! Genesis 1:1
Meat left out too long will bear maggots or mold? These days we know the maggots hatch from fly eggs and the mold grows from spores that are carried in the air. However in the past the fuzzy growth and the wiggly bodies were believed proof that whole organisms could spontaneously arise from rotten meat or certain types of inanimate matter. In the early 1860’s French chemist Louis Pasteur proved that such spontaneous generation did not occur, but instead the air itself was full of bacteria, spores and other forms of reproducing life. In 1859 Charles Darwin promoted the notion that life forms were ever changing evolving into new species over time. Pasteur’s experiments and Darwin’s theory led to opposing conclusions regarding the origin of life here on the earth. Pasteur claimed that through his scientific experiments that there was support for belief that God created life! Just as life could not arise from spontaneously animate matter the first life on earth could not have arisen without the help of a Divine Creator! Source: Space.com Comments: According to Genesis 1:1, God created the Heaven first. The word Heaven comes from the Hebrew word, “Shamayim.” The word means the sky, clouds and atmosphere or air. Air itself has life and sustains and produces life! Try living without it ! I will never belief any theory whether Darwin’s or any other unless backed up with facts! If you get the origin of life wrong your whole perspective on life will be wrong and your decisions throughout life will be based on error! If you get this one wrong you get everything wrong! A denial of our Creator will be a hard choice especially when one day you will have to face Him! Thankyou. James and Hamsa Sasse. GodWhoisGod.com
