Even Jacob his grandson was still referred to as a Syrian! However God did change his name to Israel. Were they Syrian refugee’s? It says in the above scripture Abraham was ready to perish in Syria! They immigrated out of Syria. God saw it fit to get them out! God can Bless anyone from anywhere! Islam did not come along until 4000 years later. Islam is one of the most destructive religions ever devised by man! I would resist bringing them here to America for the risk would be great! If God saw it fit to get Abraham out of Syria why do our political leaders think they are so smart to bring them into America? Why? Could it be that they think they are smarter than God? Thankyou. On January 27, 1941 U.S. Ambassador to Japan, Joseph C. Grew, wired Washington that he had learned information that Japan, in the event of trouble with the U.S., was planning a surprise attack on Pearl Harbor! No one in Washington believed this information. Many thought war was possible but could never surprise us. Most of our military leaders thought they would attack us in Manila. However, U.S. Admiral Kimmel wanted to take our fleet out of Pearl Harbor and meet the enemy at sea. Washington wanted to paint a more secure political climate! Japanese Admiral Isoroku Yamamoto had lived in America several years and knew American culture. He knew on Sunday morning Christian’s would be worshipping in services on the Island and it would be a day off for military members. Also Christmas preparations would be a distraction. On Sunday, December 7, 1941, at 0750, Hawaiian time, the first wave of Japanese aircraft attacked American forces! At the end of the day 2403 American’s were killed and 1178 wounded! Eighteen ships were sunk and 77 aircraft destroyed! Today, please have a moment of silence and remember the American’s who sacrificed their lives for us! These American’s did not have a Christmas day in December of 1941. We are battling an old enemy today but relatively new to American’s which is Islam! They also want to take Christmas off your calendar! Christmas has not always been a time of peace for American’s but remember our only real peace comes from Christ who sacrificed Himself to bring us peace with God! Merry Christmas! Righteous Rule versus Wicked Rule!
Proverbs 29:2 “When the righteous are in authority the people rejoice; but when the wicked beareth rule, the people mourn.” Who are the righteous? The word righteous in the Hebrew means those who live their lives in accordance with God’s standard! The words, “are in authority”, is translated from the Hebrew to mean those who are in the majority or more in number. The word wicked means those who are enemies of God and His people. Even though the world has always been a battlefield between the righteous and the wicked God still has His people everywhere! At the time of Christ’s birth Caesar and Herod ruled wickedly. Their wicked acts against Christ at His birth and at the Cross victoriously produced a foundation of redemption for man! His star today shines brighter to us than to the shepherds around Bethlehem! His light will always shine brighter and brighter as our world grows darker! As we celebrate Christmas remember the Herod’s of today are trying to stamp out Christmas are in the greatest need of Him! What does Christmas look like? It has hands to help others. It has feet to hasten to the poor and needy. It has eyes to see misery and want. It has ears to hear the sighs and sorrows of men. Since 9-11, Iraq, Afghanistan and California Islam has created thousands of widows and orphans here in America! Even the Islamic attackers in California orphaned their own baby? God has given us scriptures in our Bible that instructs us to how to respond. I have included one Bible verse from the Old Testament and one verse from the New Testament. Deuteronomy 24:19 When you cut down your harvest in the field, do not fetch it; it shall be for the stranger, for the fatherless and for the widow: That the Lord may bless in all the work of your hands. Don’t Miss Christ at Christmas!
The only real blind person at Christmas-time is he who has not Christmas in his heart! Helen Keller (1880-1968) Comment: American culture tries hard to take Christ out of Christmas! Whether through political correctness or our public education system. A news organization interviewed some children here in America and asked them who’s birthday do we celebrate at Christmas? Do Not Follow The Crowd!
Those people should not be listened to who keep saying the voice of the people is the voice of God! The riotousness of the crowd is always very close to madness! Alcuin of York (735-804 A.D.) Comment: When I was in high school back in the 1960’s my grandfather Edgar was a simple farmer but very wise! He would have these wisdom sessions with us that at the time did not seem important. However we listened to him! He said, “Jimmy never follow the crowd! A Prophet Like Moses! Deuteronomy 18:15-19
Only Abraham was called a prophet before Moses. A prophet is one who is called by God and can only proclaim what the Lord has given him to say. A prophet could not contradict the Law or speak out of his own mind or heart. What a prophet spoke had to come true! A prophet is visionary and perceptive. Prophets are also connected to music as in the case of King David. A prophetess like Miriam or Debra had the gift of songs. The identity of the unnamed prophet was revealed through other scriptures both in the Old and New Testaments of your Bible. By Jesus day, the Jews had developed a clear cut expectation of a yet future figure who would fulfill Moses words. Priests and Levites from Jerusalem asked John the Baptist if he were, “the prophet?” John denied it but pointed to Jesus Christ! Everything that Jesus has prophesized about himself and future events has or is coming to pass! Jesus also warned us about false prophets! If you reject the true prophet then you will be deceived by the false prophet! I believe the false prophet who aligns himself with the anti-Christ is Islam! Islam is deceiving many of youth today and alluring them into his death trap! The power and authority of Christ will overcome this evil one and has also promised us victory over all our enemies! Our sin is the first foe He has defeated! Every new day is an appointment with Christ as He reveals His plans for our lives! Your eternity began the day you received Christ as your savior! You will complete your mission here on earth and then go back to Heaven to the place He has prepared for you! Your purpose in Christ is never over and is as eternal as God Himself! Thankyou. Gospel Lite! Romans 13:3-6
Much of the preaching today is what I call “Gospel Lite.” It is a reduced calorie Gospel just like Bud Lite beer! You are deprived of nutrients! A cheap substitute! All of our cultural wars going on in America are never discussed? Scripture warnings to gays, lesbians, transsexuals and abortionist are ignored! Sometimes I think our pulpits here in America are located on the moon! Nothing about Islam? Now school children here in America are chanting Praise to Allah! You only lose a war because you will not fight! While Christian’s are being tortured and beheaded in the Middle East much of the church here in America has the mute button on? It is a very strange time for us in history? Remember the Gospel applies to everyone not just church people! It either applies to all or to no one! Preach the Gospel like the whole world is in front of you and also those in Heaven and those in Hell! We have a great cloud of witnesses! The fire and brimstone in our churches is now a flickering candle! In the Book of Romans Paul speaks of the responsibility of the State to punish evil doers. This is the primary responsibility of the federal, state and local governments. Not to punish the good but to punish the evil! We are to pay tribute or taxes to help restore and maintain law and order! We are to remind our government leaders of their obligation to keep the peace! Even though Paul was a supporter and loyal Roman citizen he was still executed by the state! He never preached the overthrow of the government but the support of it! He just could not worship Caesar as God! We may have to pay the same price as Paul to pass the Gospel on to the next generation! When we preach the Gospel we should not fear anything but the truth!
