Temptation? Matthew 6:13

“Lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil.” Comment: The word temptation in the Greek can mean for either good or evil depending on who is doing the tempting! God tempts us to do good! That is to trust him in faith to deliver us from evil by his Word! Satan tempts us to do evil by trusting in our own works! So if God is tempting it is for our good but if Satan tempting it is for our destruction! So who is the source of temptation in verse 13? Satan! Deliver us from evil! The prayer is Lord stop the tempter and deliver us from him! Pope Francis wants to change this rendering to read” Do not let us fall into temptation.” We have to remember that Satan leads men into temptation to do evil! God tempts no man to do evil! James 1:13. We do not fall into temptation like an accident! We are led into temptation! God leads his flock and Satan leads his flock! I began my life by following Satan but now I follow Jesus! Our path is determined by who we follow! Adam and Eve were tempted by Satan in the Garden of Eden! They had to decide was it God or Satan who was telling the truth? Satan told Eve God was a liar! The same holds true for today! Jesus was tempted by Satan! Turn these stones into bread! Jump off the temple Mount his angels will catch you! Jesus countered Satan with the Word of God! It is written….. Satan is the same liar today in the 21st Century! God is the same God! The first temptation Satan will try on you is to not believe God’s word or your Holy Bible! Following Satan leads to sin! God has offered you forgiveness if you repent! The sins God opposes by his Word in the 21st Century are; Abortion, Evolution, homosexuality, transgenderism, Lesbianism, Atheism, drugs, murder, robbery, fornicators, adultery, divorce, pornography, gambling and the list goes on! If we do not believe God and his Word then these sins are not looked at as sins and Satan has deceived you with a lie! Hitler, Mussolini, Stalin and the Emperor of Japan all followed Charles Darwin! They rejected Christ! Hitler believed he could speed up evolution by millions of years by getting rid of the undesirables on planet earth! Racism is promoted by rejecting Creation and embracing evolution! Normandy is full of graves because a few men in power rejected Christ! How you pray this prayer is not as important as understanding what you are praying! Remember God created your life and Satan wants to destroy it! To reject Christ is to open yourself to Satan and death! James and Hamsa Sasse. GodWhoisGod.com

Lead us not into Temptation!

Pope Francis wants to change this section of the Lord’s prayer to: “Keep us from falling into temptation.” I do not have any problem with this semantics however the word we need to pay attention to is “Temptation.” In James 1:13 it says God cannot be tempted neither does he tempt any man! Why? Because there is no sin in him and he is Holy! Satan is the father of sin and executer of all sin! What did Jesus mean by “Lead us not into Temptation?” What Jesus meant with this model prayer to the Father is lead us not into denying Christ! The only unpardonable sin is to deny Christ! Every other sin can be forgiven! To deny Christ is blasphemy against the Holy Spirit who is part of the Trinity along with Christ! I touched on this topic in January of 2018. You can type in on our search box of our blog, “Hour of Temptation! Revelation 3:10”, and it will take you to this posting. So in Revelation 3:10 what did Jesus mean by keeping us from the hour of temptation? Keeping us from denying Jesus! The 21 Coptic Christian believers who were beheaded last year were kept from the hour of temptation! Christ will give us strength not to deny him! So what are the forces in American culture that put pressure on you to deny Christ! There are many! Popular culture in Hollywood, Political correctness, political left, liberal media and social media, educational teaching of atheism in evolution, humanism, socialism, abortion, racial supremacy, anti-colonialism, gay marriage, lesbians and transgenderism! These are not all but the more obvious! These are the principalities and powers of darkness that will tempt you to deny Christ! So how do we resist the Devil? The same way Jesus did! With the Word of God! It is written man shall not live by bread alone! It is written! It is written! If you do not know your Bible you are hanging out on a limb! An eternity at stake! Jesus came to deliver us from our sin! The only way you can thwart God’s love for you is to deny him! So who would be so foolish? Many! Do not follow them to be separated from God but follow Christ for an eternity spent with him experiencing his love forever! Merry Christmas! James and Hamsa Sasse. GodWhoisGod.com

Hour of Temptation! Revelation 3:10

Greek Translation: “Because thou has kept the spoken word of my cheerful endurance, I will also keep thee from the hour, time and season of one’s virtues which shall come to pass upon all the world specifically the Roman Empire, to try them that dwell on the whole earth.” Comment: The Greek word for our English word “world”, used here refers to the Roman Empire. From the Roman Empire the temptation is spread into the whole earth. So what temptation is Jesus keeping you from that is spread to the whole earth from the Roman Empire? The temptation to deny Christ! The world at this time in history was the Roman Empire! They had conquered most of the known world! Jesus and all the disciples except John and many of the early church Father’s were martyred by the Roman Empire! The Apostle John at the time of the writing of this Book of Revelation was exiled on the Isle of Patmos working as a slave in a stone quarry because of Caesar’s sentencing of John! Christian persecution of the Church began in 64 A.D. with Nero and the great fire of Rome. The persecution of the Church ceased in 313 A.D. with the Edict of Milan with Emperor Constatine. It has been estimated that there were at least 100 thousand martyrs during this period. Remember in previous postings we talked about the unpardonable sin? What was blasphemy of the Holy Spirit? Remember to mock one part of the Trinity is to mock all. The unpardonable sin was to deny Jesus! God can forgive every sin except denying Jesus because He is the only one who can forgive sin! Remember the 21 Coptic Christians who were beheaded by ISIS last year? In their hour of temptation they did not deny Jesus! Rome became Christian under Emperor Constatine and became the Holy Roman Empire! Jesus knew what the believers were going to face under Roman Rule for 200 years! He was preparing them for the hour of temptation! So how did the preparation come about for the hour of temptation for the whole earth? When Roman Empire became Christian all the roads they had built throughout their entire Empire were used to take the Gospel to all the known world! I will give you a historical quote on the Roman Empire from Wikipedia: “By means of European Colonialism following the Renaissance, and the descendant states, Greco-Roman and Judaeo-Christian culture was exported on a world wide scale, playing a crucial role in the development of the modern world.” Now where are we at 21 Centuries later today? The pressure upon Christian culture today is to deny Christ! The popular culture, Hollywood, liberal media, atheistic teachings such as evolution, abortion promoters, white supremacy haters, anti-colonialism, gays, lesbian, and transgender promoters all apply pressure against us to deny Christ! Even in the church the denial of Christ exists! Many believers do not tithe their income! Many make a 7 day work week and skip Sunday services! Worship of money over God! The list goes on but we can either deny Christ one small step at a time but when push comes to shove and you have to make a choice between your life or Christ God’s grace will not be their to confess His name! Snake Bit Pastor Dies!

First of all our condolences to the Jamie Coots family! I believe he is in Heaven but I also believe he has misinterpreted scripture! It is an easy thing to do. Our prayers are for his son Cody that he not follow this same path. It is not easy to tell any son his father is wrong! Let me explain why I think he was wrong. Luke 10:19. A snake is a physical manifestation of the spirit of Satan! Jesus gives us power over Satan. This power is not proven by picking up snakes but is demonstrated by victory over sin! When Jesus was tempted or tested by Satan in Luke 4:12 and Matthew 4:7, He said you shall not test the Lord thy God! In Deuteronomy 6:16 it says, “You shall not test or tempt the Lord thy God as you tested Him in Massah.” In Isaiah 7:12 it says, “But Ahaz said, I will not ask, neither will I tempt or test the Lord.” In Matthew 6:13 Jesus said in the Lord’s prayer, “Lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil.” The word temptation (Strongs 3986), from the Greek means ; put to the test. In Psalm 26:2 David is praying to God and the word try here means to purify me as gold in the fire. In Psalm 139:23 David is asking God to test him. The word test as used in Malachi 3:10 (Strongs 974) (Bachan), refers to God testing humanity. The point here is we do not test God! When we sin we test God! God will test us and Satan will test us! The victory comes when we are tested and Trust God at His Word! Ed Cole used to say, “Any truth carried to an extreme becomes an untruth!” I can test God if I do something foolish and expect God to rescue me! Let me give you some examples. Lord I want to go to hell so in your name I can cast out demons and get all these people to Heaven! You could not do it but I can! I know a man in Macon Georgia who went into the night clubs to save people. He is a drunk today! Lord let me go and lay with this prostitute so I can save her! Tempting God? Yes! Thankyou.
