Isaiah 50: 6-11 Comment: Isaiah begins in Chapter 50 asking the Jews why should they be surprised that they are in Babylonian captivity? You dug your own grave! The Lord told them they sold themselves into captivity through your own sin! Your mother is put away and you can never pay your creditors! The answer to their yoke of slavery is through a coming deliverer that has the tongue of the learned! This deliverer has given his back to the whip! His beard is plucked out! He has set his face like a flint to his task! He shall not be ashamed! No one will be able to condemn you although you deserve death! Is there anyone who will fear this deliverer? Walk in His light! Christmas for Dummies! Luke 2:11

The shepherds got the hell scared out of them when the angel appeared to them in the middle of the night on a lonely hillside while tending their sheep! When the Holy smoke cleared out of their campsite from the lightening bolts they bowed their faces to the ground expecting to be incinerated! The sheep headed for the hills. The laser light show was on full display! All bowel constipation disorders were miraculously healed! The angel told them to chill out! You cool cats need to cool down! Relax! Good news guys! This is not the end of the world! Their hopes were somewhat dashed! I want you guys to hit the trail back to Bethlehem! There is a new guy just born in Bethlehem! His first name is Jesus and his last name is Christ! I have heard you use his name sometimes when you talk to your sheep! This is the real deal dudes! You sheep dogs are highly favored this night! None of the smart people in your neighborhood know about this! He is born to you this night as your SAVIOR! He will save you from yourselves! He is your SAVIOR at his birth, at the Cross, at the resurrection, at his ascension and when he comes back to earth the second time! He will be your SAVIOR forever! He will send you the Holy Ghost! You boys look puzzled? You got too many wooly balls in your heads! Now get packing for Bethlehem and see your new born King! Hey guys! Merry Christmas!

Is God a Show Off? 2 Kings 5:11-14

Naaman the Captain of the Syrian Army had trouble following simple directions! Can i get a witness? First of all he was informed by his Jewish servant girl who was captured and made a slave through the spoils of war that there was a God in Israel who could heal his leprocy! Then Naaman sends money to the King of Israel trying to buy his healing? The King of Israel rent his clothes saying am i God? So Naaman mounts up his chariots with his army and heads for Israel! He stops his chariot at the front door of the Prophet Elisha! Elisha does not go out to meet the Captain but sends his servant girl out to tell him to dip in the Jordan River seven times! Naaman lost his cool! Naaman thought God would come down in a bolt of lightning and make a big show for the world to see! Like dazzle the elite! The Bible says Naaman left in a rage! Are there not better rivers in Syria? Well more servants saved the day! Naaman’s servants asked him why not just follow the directions? Naaman took their advice and dipped in the Jordon seven times and got healed! It was a humble little servant girl that birthed forth Jesus! The Angel went to the humble shepherds to announce the birth of Christ! God did not make a big show! He appears to a few to save many! Pride can keep you out of God’s purpose and plan for your life! About 60 years ago there was a young man dying of tuberculosis in the slums of Seoul Korea! The doctor sent him home to die! He was coughing up blood! A little teenage girl would come by each day as he lay on his cot dying and pray for him. He would insult her, spit on her and call her a Christian dog! She asked him if he would surrender his life to Christ? She kept praying and his health improved! God healed him and he started a ministry in the slums of Seoul Korea! Today this church has over one million members and is the world’s largest church! Pastor Cho commissioned us as missionaries to India from 1984-1987. Pastor Cho could never find this teenage girl even though he has looked for past 60 years? The world and even some in the church think you are wasting your time praying for the sick and dying! No money in it for me? Waste of my time? God will use what the world discounts or throws away to bring Glory to His Name! God’s love never discounts anyone! Not even you! James and Hamsa Sasse. Obama’s entire foreign policy is predicated on that by his existing, he would bridge all gaps and bury all hatchets! Instead, the Muslim world burns his picture even as he tells them he respects their radicalism! The Bible says not to cut yourself or make a print on your body! Why? Well, just because God says not to do it is not good enough for me! Really? God is not going to tell me what to do! I am going to be my own God and decide what to do! Sound familiar? Are we talking about you again? We live in a world at war with God! There was a popular song back in the 1960’s titled, “I fought the law and the law won!” My mother back in the 1960’s used to ask me and my brother Tommy why we never brought home any homework from school? We told her we were too smart to study! Tommy and I should be grading the teachers! Mom said if that is true then how come your grades are so sick? Mom those teachers are so dumb they could not recognize talent even if it bit them! Me and Tommy had homeless homework! God said my people perish for a lack of knowledge! When Tommy and I got our grade reports the law won! God simply gave us the law so that we recognize that we need a Savior! God has only one who is worthy to carry marks on His body! Those prints and cuttings were placed on His body by all of us at the Cross! Even Jesus disciple Thomas after the Cross said I will not believe unless I see the nail prints in His hands! Unless I see and feel the scars of his pierced side! We only carry our own scars because we reject the marks taken for us by Jesus on the Cross! You can make your own marks but it will never save you! All of the pain and suffering was reserved for only one Jesus Christ the Son of the living God! You may mark your body but it is impossible for you to carry the sin of the world! If you have already marked your body then think of the Cross when you look on your marks of sin! Thankyou. Lawrence Welk Show 1965

This was a joke on his show given in 1965; My wife asked me to take her out to an expensive place! I took her to a gas station! Then in 1965 gas was about 20 cents per gallon! Now today this would no longer be a joke. Today a gas station is about the most expensive place you can visit! Just a reminder to you Obama lovers out there that when George Bush began his second term in January 2005 gas was $1.84 per gallon. When Obama took office in January 2009 gas was $1.85 per gallon. If you voted for Obama I want you to think about what you could have done with all the money you leave at the gas pump and dump into a hole in the ground supporting this novice in the White House!
