Pastor John Harper was an accomplished Pastor out of Scotland with hundreds of congregation members in his home church! He had been invited by Moody Church in Chicago to participate with this ministry! He was excited and his young daughter and sister accompanied them on a brand new ship on it’s maiden voyage to New York! His wife had been deceased years earlier. The Titanic was promoted as the safest ship to ever sail. On the late night of April 14th the Titanic struck that rock of ice and began taking on water! As the tragedy unfolded Pastor Harper helped load the women and children into the life boats! He gave up his life vest to another who did not have one! A crew member warned him that without the life vest you are going down with the ship! Pastor Harper replied that he was going up and not down! Pastor Harper kept shouting to the crowds, “Do you know Jesus as your Savior?” He continued to shout, “No one can save you tonight but God!” Survivors said that Pastor Harper kept preaching the Gospel to the end especially after Acts 16:31. Are you saved was his continual cry to the people entering the cold icy waters of the North Atlantic! Pastor Harper found himself in the cold frigid waters clinging to a deck chair floating in the water! As people floated by him he would ask them if they were saved? Do you know Christ! Declare His name from your lips and enter into eternal life! You only have one chance tonight! Do not let the love of this world keep you from Christ! Christ loves you but not this world! Trust Christ not your own efforts! Whether here tonight or later we will all perish from this earth! There is only one name under Heaven in where you can be saved! Pastor Harper with over 1500 people perished that night and entered eternity either saved or lost! Are you saved! When we run out of time we run out of choices! The word time means, “To Honor.” Why not honor Him today with the rest of your life here on earth? Lee (1807-1870) Comment: Can we start on the wrong side of history and end up on the right side of history? If the truth be known we all started on the wrong side of history! Otherwise no one would need to be saved! Ask the thief on the Cross! Today there are billions of people on the Cross in the valley of decision! Millions will get saved! My favorite example of a thief done straight is John Newton! You remember his song, “Amazing Grace.” He was captain of his own slave ship! Then in the midst of a storm on the sea when they were about to perish God showed him how wicked he was! He repented and returned to Liverpool England and joined a small church. This is where he wrote his famous hymn! In 1787 he wrote a book, “Thoughts upon the African Slave Trade.” This book helped William Wilberforce a Parliament member over a 20 year period abolish the slave trade! Why Kick President McKinley off the Mountain?
Have you ever heard of a standing United States President removing a memorial to a previous serving U.S. President? Obama evidently hates competition! Who is next? Mount Rushmore? Four President’s with name changes? Like Larry, Curley, Moe and President Obama! How hard he works at removing American history! Why? What has Obama got against President William McKinley? Is it the Cuba connection? McKinley was President during the Spanish American war. Remember the Maine! Spain was fighting a civil war on the island of Cuba. The Spanish military was fighting a civil war with Cuban residents in a rebellion against Spanish rule. American citizens were also living on the island and their safety was threatened! President McKinley ordered the U.S. Maine, a battleship down to Cuba to rescue Americans in danger! The ship peacefully entered Havana harbor and moored there to take home American citizens who felt threatened. The U.S. Maine exploded in the middle of the night with over 300 casualties and many wounded! Whether the ship was mined or blew up internally is still speculation after several investigations! McKinley got extreme pressure from the American public and legislators to go to war with Spain! McKinley was a Civil War Officer who knew the carnage of war! Finally under great pressure declared war on Spain! The war lasted just over 90 days with about 300 casualties. The important point here is America went to war to free the citizens of Cuba from the atrocities of the Spanish! Yes by Spain default America got Philippines, Puerto Rico, Guam and Guantanimo Bay! Cuba lost its independence in the 1960’s under Communist Dictator Fidel Castro and continues today under his brother! President McKinley was assassinated in 1901 while serving in office! President Obama wants to give away Guantanimo Bay? He wants to normalize relations with Dictator’s in Iran, Cuba and other rogue nations? How does that work? If you were an America citizen would Obama rescue you? Forget it! Ask the four American citizens rotting in an Iranian prison! Ask the four Americans murdered in Bengazi! He will exchange a Army deserter for releasing 5 deadly terrorist from Guantanimo Bay? Beach Wedding
Would you like a beautiful wedding under the ocean sky? Let your colors be selected by your Creator! Let us begin with a turquoise sky contrasted by a white sand beach. Decide your water colors depending on the time of day. As the sun rises and sets over this occasion let the orange ball of light speak of eternity as it’s color spectrum dances in your mind. Let the sound of waves provide your music. Even the hermit crabs will come out of their homes and see this occasion. The clams will clap their shells in approval. The sea gulls and pelicans will get a bird’s eye view. They may even take a day off from fishing. The dolphins will break the surface to catch a glimpse. A sea foam green carpet stretched from the gazebo to the water will provide continuity. A guest book for surfers and beach bums would be polite. A bare foot dance in the sand would be down to earth. When the crabs come out to dance with you things are getting right. Let your gown, slippers and jewelry match your creation. Sea food should be on the menu. Let your wedding cake match your neighborhood. Let your mind with the creativity God has given you compliment your Creator! Please do not forget your departure time for your cruise ship. Santa Claus Has a New Home!
Yes! It is an abandoned Global Warming ship named Al Gore the II. It is a 50 ton ship stuck in 40 feet of ice. Santa E-mailed me yesterday with some interesting facts he learned as he read the Captain’s log book. His log indicates there were two reasons why the ship got stuck in the ice at the north pole. First reason was that the ship had Solyndra solar panels on the deck to power the ship. The sun does not shine up there for 3 months so that did not work. Interesting the Captain said in his log that when he looked under one of the solar panels they were made in China? The second reason was the ship has jet turbines to power it but there is a jet fuel shortage because Al Gore burns it all up flying around the world in his private jet giving speeches on global warming! Santa says the ship is abandoned but well stocked with supplies and it is his dream come true! Santa found 100 pair of sun glasses, 40 cases of sun tan lotion, 100 sets of bikinis, 100 inflatable beach balls and 20 cases of mosquito repellant. I told Santa early I need a set of dentures real bad for Christmas. Santa told me he finally got on the ObamaCare web site and ordered 10000 pair of dentures!
