The Christmas Scrooge? Matthew 6:13
Do not let the Pope ruin your Christmas! The Greek word for temptation means to test with experience. I wish the translators would have used the word testing instead of temptation! We do not fall into temptation or testing as though it were an accident? We are led into temptation determined by who you follow! The Spirit lead Jesus to be tempted of Satan! (Matthew 4:1-11). If God leads us into testing it is not to abandon us or destroy us but to give us victory through experience over Satan! God will test us to prove to us He can be trusted! When Satan tests us it is for the purpose to destroy us! The key is to know which tester is testing us? Remember God will not test us with evil. (James 1:13-14) If something that is evil comes to your mind you know the author of it! Do not listen to Satan but rebuke him in Jesus name! Cast him out of your mind! Has God surely said you cannot eat of this tree? You will not die! Jesus turn these stones into bread! Jump from the Temple Mount the angels will catch you! I will give you all the Kingdoms of this world if you will bow down and worship me! Mary you are going to have a baby boy and yet know no man? Elizabeth you are going to have a son in your old age! Abraham you are going to have a son in your old age? Ha Ha Ha! His name will be Isaac meaning laughter! All these saints passed the test! No one likes tests! When you are tested and close your eyes in death who will you trust to take you to Heaven? The Pope forgot the most important part of verse 13. But deliver us from evil. Evil exists because we do not trust God! The testing to do evil is from Satan! The testing from God is to deliver us from evil. God Promises Blessings to the Arab’s! Genesis 21:18
God promises Abraham a Son to be heir for all of humanity. Abraham tried to fulfill this promise in his own strength and with the help of his wife Sarah. Sarah encouraged Abraham to go into his bondwoman Hagar to produce son. The word bondwoman means a female slave. Well the idea worked and Ishmael was born! This was not a God idea. When God’s idea was finally fulfilled in their old age Isaac was born to Abraham and Sarah! Now the family feud begins! Sarah is mocked by Hagar and then Abraham sends Hagar and Ishmael out into the wilderness. Then God visits Hagar and Ishmael and promises to make a great nation out of them! Ishmael takes a wife out of Egypt and then the opposing sides are established! Did Abraham favor Isaac? Later Abraham offers up Isaac his son as a sacrifice on the altar too God! As we enter the Easter season God did the same with His son Jesus Christ! Yes, and for who? Yes for you! God has promised all the nations of the earth would be Blessed through the Jew! The biggest threat to world peace and your peace is the rejection of Jesus Christ! The biggest obstacle to blocking God’s promise to the Arabs is Islam! It is the perfect storm to drive them away from God! As I have studied the Koran one of the most destructive verses along with many others is when Mohammad says to kill all the non-Muslims on earth and then the Muslims need to kill each other! This is happening now and has throughout history. Suicide would be a better choice than Islam and the suicide bombers kill themselves to kill others! God died to save others through His Son Jesus Christ! Today there is a lot of political bunk saying the Muslim religion is hijacked by the terrorists! People that say that have never read the Koran! The radicals are simply following the Koran! Eighty percent of all Muslims worldwide have never read the Koran! The only hope for Muslims is to denounce Islam and come to Christ! Grandpa and Grandma get a Son! Genesis 18
They say that if your two year old son raises his hands up to his father and says grandpa you know you have a miracle! Abraham has three men show up at his tent door in the heat of the day! Normally people do not travel in the heat of the day? These men were not normal and represent a theophany or God appearing to men Could these three men represent the Trinity? Jesus Christ is the personal manifestation of God to man! Abraham recognizes that these were not just men but God Himself standing before him! Abraham entreats them well offering the best he had with provision and water. When they announce to Abraham that he will have a son his wife Sarah laughs! Their son that was eventually born to them was named Isaac which means laughter. God also promises to Abraham and his descendants that they will be a great nation and all the earth will be Blessed through them! Later in history the birth of Christ and the nation of Israel would confirm these promises! The second mission of these three men was to destroy the gay’s living in Sodom and Gomorrah! Abraham tried to convince God to spare them because his nephew Lot and immediate family was living among them! Lot was a lousy evangelist even among his own family! God spared them but destroyed the rest of them! God could not find ten righteous in the city! God is faithful to Bless the righteous and destroy the wicked! So how does one move from the camp of the wicked to the camp of the righteous? There must be a change in behavior! Repent of your sin to Christ and let Him give you the strength to live a new life!
