Muslim conquests of the Indian subcontinent mainly took place from the 12th to 16th centuries. There was a limited incursion by Muslims in the 8th century. The slaughter of Hindu’s and Buddhists was severe and the Indian culture was looking for a way to accommodate the convert and die demands of Islam! The beautiful thing about Christianity is it is not convert or die but convert and live! Guru Nanak (1469-1549), founded a religion that included Islam, Hinduism and some Sufi mysticism. He began teaching in 1515 A.D. and today has a following of about 30 million Sikhs! Sikhism combines these as a way of reconciliation with the Muslims. What I did find with boots on the ground 3 years in India that they are the most challenging people to witness the Gospel of Jesus Christ too! They are a very bold people but yet respectful! When Britain and the United States were fighting the Japanese in Burma during World War II were quoted as saying, “We do not fear the Brits or Americans but we do fear the Sikhs!” Sometimes they get upset with our Gospel Tract, Who is God? Who is God? Daniel 12:3
A very good question! There are a lot of different answers to this question. Some people say, “There is no God.” Your answer to this question will determine how you treat other people and where you will spend eternity! Our belief about who God is will also determine whether we worship God or worship ourselves. If we love God then we will love people! We have three major religions in this world. They are opposite each other, therefore they cannot be all true! Let me explain; 1. Christianity says, “That God died for man.” 2. Islam says, “That man must die for God.” 3. Hinduism says, “That God is who you make Him to be in your mind.” 4. Christianity says, “That God made man.” Islam= Self-worship Hinduism= Self-worship Christianity= God’s grace Self-worship is you trying to do for God what God has already done for you! Grace is God doing for you what you cannot do for yourself! By grace you are saved by faith and not of yourselves! See Ephesians 2:8 We all make mistakes! My worst mistake was rejecting Jesus Christ! PTSD Post Traumatic Stress Disorder
All of our returning veterans can suffer from this disease! Why does it only manifest itself when our veterans return and not in the combat theater? When they return the threat is gone! Bonnie Gray has some interesting insights into this problem! Combat veterans are trained to survive using their weaponry. When they return home the threat is still in their minds from training, combat experience and long periods of exposure to battle field conditions! So the first thing they do when they get home is buy a weapon for security from the threat! They are depending on their own works to protect themselves! We as Christians also must not depend on our own works! Yes, Faith without works is dead but works alone will result in dead works! We need to allow for whitespace which is simply spending quality time with God in prayer, Bible study and church attendance! God Blesses our work if we rely upon Him and commit the work to Him and through Him! Grace is God doing for you what you cannot do for yourself! Suggest you buy her book! Humility For Pride! John Chapter 13
During Jesus last 3 years of ministry He would sometimes say my time has not come yet! However in John Chapter 12 we see a change where Jesus says my time has now come! The word time means to honor! The word honor means to promote! Jesus promoted you from Hell to Heaven! Jesus promoted His Father! Jesus got promoted and is seated at the right hand of our Father today interceding for us in prayer! What is our response to Christians being beheaded around the world? How do we respond to violence? Jesus said those who live by the sword will die by the sword! Jesus was also living in violent times! Jesus life was just not hanging around shepherds anchored to green pastures! The Romans ruled through fear and violence! The same for the Middle East today! In Jesus day swords, spears and crosses ruled the day! The good Samaritan got beat up! Mr. Rogers could not have lived in this neighborhood! John 13:3-5 Why was this foot washing so offensive to Peter and the disciples? In the Jewish culture only gentiles could wash a Jews feet! A Jew could never wash another Jew’s feet! Jesus stepped on their pride! Never let your culture separate you from God! Jesus was never careless with His authority. He used it to draw people to God! Jesus shows us and His disciples that serving confronts our pride! Sometimes we have pride we are not even aware of! Pride hung on the religious and political rulers but could not cling to Jesus! Matthew 6:1-4 Jesus warned us not to let acts of kindness be seen of men. Give in secret! When was the last time you served in secret? There are 3 ways to serve. 1. Serve to be seen by others. 2. Serve in secret but to be proud of it! Self righteous! 3. Serve in secret as worship to God! Do we serve to impress God? Serve in pride? Do you think you are better than those you serve? John 13:34-35 Jesus gave us a new commandment! It covers the other ten! Love one another! I thought just my family and church members? Help those who cannot help you! Serving others is the most powerful witness to the world! The watching world will never agree with all our theology but are fascinated with our behavior of helping others! Serve the widow’s, orphans and the hurting! The one’s nearest us know us best! How do the one’s closest to you describe you? Do they call us servants? He who is greatest in the Kingdom of God is servant of all! Carl Marks had a philosophy but it was not a reality? He got his best friend’s wife pregnant and then sent the baby to an orphanage! Our church supports Pastor’s in the Middle East. Our Pastor in Egypt gave us some details about these executions. ISIS rounded up a group of Christian’s then one by one asked them to deny Christ or die! Out of this group these 21 men would not deny Christ! Notice there were no women executed? Muslim’s will keep the women for sex slaves either for themselves or sell them to other Muslim countries! A lot of young girl’s have been sold to the surrounding area’s such as to Saudi Arabia and others! Under the current political situation here in America some of us may have to make this choice also! Creation Versus Evolution! Genesis 1:1
Meat left out too long will bear maggots or mold? These days we know the maggots hatch from fly eggs and the mold grows from spores that are carried in the air. However in the past the fuzzy growth and the wiggly bodies were believed proof that whole organisms could spontaneously arise from rotten meat or certain types of inanimate matter. In the early 1860’s French chemist Louis Pasteur proved that such spontaneous generation did not occur, but instead the air itself was full of bacteria, spores and other forms of reproducing life. In 1859 Charles Darwin promoted the notion that life forms were ever changing evolving into new species over time. Pasteur’s experiments and Darwin’s theory led to opposing conclusions regarding the origin of life here on the earth. Pasteur claimed that through his scientific experiments that there was support for belief that God created life! Just as life could not arise from spontaneously animate matter the first life on earth could not have arisen without the help of a Divine Creator! Really! Another lie! The same Spirit that has removed Bibles from our schools and prayer from our schools in America is the same Spirit in Islam! The same Spirit that promotes abortion and removal of Crosses in America is from the same source! The same Spirit that sent Jesus to the grave is alive and well! The good news is the same Spirit that raised Christ from the dead dwells in you! Muslims that do terrible things to people are just following the Quran! This is their Holy Bible! Anything but Holy but simply practicing their Faith! Only 20 percent of the 1.4 billion Muslims have ever read the Quran! Hey! It is your lucky day! How many Christians read their Bibles? Even when the political right uses the term radical Islam they do not understand this is what normal Muslims do! They are not radical they are obeying the Quran! When I hear our political leaders say Islam is a religion of peace they are either ignoring history, ignorant or in denial? I am going to give you some sampler verses out of the Quran that will help you understand Islam! Chapters in the Quran are called Surah. So Surah 5:72 would be Chapter 5, verse 72. Here we go: Surah 5:72 Christians will be burned in the fire! Surah 5:73 Christians are wrong about the Trinity, they will have a painful doom! Surah 8:67 A prophet may not take captives until he has made a slaughter in the land! Surah 9:34 Give tidings and a painful death to Christians and Jews! Surah 24:5 It is okay for Muslims to have slaves! Surah 28:62-64 Allah will taunt Christians on the day of their doom, saying; Where are my partners you imagine? Surah 28:86 Never help unbelievers! Can Muslims in countries ruled by non Muslims be loyal to their country? Surah 30:13-14 Allah will tear Christians apart for ascribing partners to Him! Surah 47:4 Smite the necks of unbelievers wherever you fight against them! Those who die fighting for Allah will be rewarded! Surah 58:22 On the last Day good Muslims will not love their Muslim friends and family members, not even their fathers, sons or brothers (or their mothers, daughters or sisters). Surah 59:2-3 Allah will cut fear into the hearts of the disbelieving people of Scripture! Their home hereafter will be in fire! Surah 59:11 The disbelieving people of the Scriptures are liars! Surah 60:1 Do not be friends with unbelievers, they are your and Allah’s enemy! Surah 61:4 Allah loves those who fight for Him! Surah 62:5 A hypocritical Jew looks like an ass carrying books! The biggest foreign policy blunder by an American president in American history was made by Obama! To let the Arab spring grow and to depose the dictators of these regions was a lethal blow to American’s and to Christian’s world wide! Twenty one Egyptian Coptic Christian’s were beheaded yesterday by ISIS soldier in Libya! Yemen has fallen and ISIS is controlling 1/3 of Syria and Iraq! ISIS says it will conquer Rome! Many Egyptians left Egypt after the 2011 overthrow of the Dictator of Egypt to look for work. To add insult to injury our last Democracy in this area is Israel and Obama has a contempt for them? I made a prediction about a year ago the False Prophet (World Religious Ruler), would rule from Rome as the Bible declares but I believe he will be a Muslim and not a apostate Pope!
