“For He that is mighty hath done miracles and perfect is His name!” Comment: Our God majors in miracles! God never went to school! He is mighty because of who He is! He is perfect because perfection is in His name! He is creator of all things! No evolution with God! He is creator of all things but He Himself was not created! He always was and is and is to come! He is the pre-existent one! No one proceeded Him! He is the cause for all that is and everything that has been! His Son Jesus Christ also proceeded creation! God is the designer and cause for all life! You are created as all the angels were! That is why we do not worship angels! Miracles and perfection are the character of God! God being born into the earth through flesh causes me to sing songs of Praise along with Mary! Mary was impregnated by God for the birth of His Son Jesus Christ! Human parents by themselves could never achieve this! Man could only be saved from His sin through divine intervention! Signs and wonders will follow those who believe in Him! The Christian story is a miraculous story and those miracles are lived out on those who follow Christ! Be like the wise men and follow Him! The perfect God brings perfection in your life! He has done His best in us and we are to do our best in Him! Let us like Mary break forth in Praise to our God as we experience the miracles and perfection of a little baby born in Bethlehem! Mary’s Song of Praise! Luke 2:51
“He hath showed strength with his arm, He hath scattered those that have turned their backs on Him in the image of their hearts!” Comment: Notice God scatters them! Remember Israel’s captivity? Like Refugee’s! Why would people turn their backs on God? Probably many reasons but the bottom line is they have the wrong image of God in their hearts! Remember we were created in the image or imagination of God! However the image breaker Satan is very busy! Satan tries to break the image of God in your heart! He tries through deception and lies to paint a bad picture of God to you! Christmas is important for this shows us God’s love for us! Being born for us and dying for us cannot create a better picture of God’s love for you! When we find the true image of God and His love for us then we want to love God and try to be like Him! Christmas and Family! Matthew 1:18-20
Many fascinating things can be learned from the Christmas story! One thing cannot be denied! God always wanted a family! He started off creating one man and one woman! Not two men or two women but one man and one woman! The challenge got bigger when God wanted a son born of human parents! He looked over His creation to find the right parents. They had to be Jew for salvation comes by the Jew! The new millennium had just begun and the signs in the Heaven and earth were just right! The virgin birth predicted hundreds of years before by the Prophets was ripe for fulfillment! God found a young Jewish couple from Nazareth that were about to be engaged. Their names were Joseph and Mary. Then Joseph found his espoused bride pregnant? Joseph minded to put her away privately! Then an Angel appeared unto Joseph and told him his bride Mary was conceived by the Holy Spirit! So Joseph became the step-father of Jesus! Years later Jesus told us that pure religion was taking care of widows and orphans! God always wanted children to have both parents! My Bible says God hates divorce! He wants to come to the aid of the victims! It seems American culture today does not hold the values God has established for the well being of the family? Jesus God’s son could not increase the size of His family until He went to the Cross! Today Jesus Father is your Father! Imagination! Genesis 1:26
Imagination rules the world! Napoleon Bonaparte (1769-1821) Comment: Why did Donald Trump win the presidency? Imagination! He had a bigger imagination for America than all his opponents! It is interesting that Napoleon sold the Louisiana Territory known as the Louisiana Purchase to the United States for 15 million dollars! He used this money to fund his military exploits! During Napoleon’s final years in exile on Saint Helena he devised escape plans involving balloons, submarines and ships with collapsible masts! He was still using his imagination! Law and Order! 1 Chronicles 9:16
The word shewbread used here in this passage has more meaning than i have time to explain here! The word means to line up in order with two rows of six loaves each. Most of us get the numerology of twelve tribes and twelve disciples! The Hebrew word means to get in line or order to prepare for warfare and to be an expert in warfare! To be a defender of the Faith! Is the church in America in the 21st century ready for warfare? Do we have an organized army with real leaders or do we have a rag tag militia asleep not even recognizing we are at war? That is what happened on 9-11. Do we have a church with no rank, no order, no discipline, no mission, no vision and no passion? We war against principalities of darkness in high places! The table for the shewbread was made of acia wood which does not rot! The wood was covered in gold which represents purity! There was a purple cloth which covered the table and this represented royalty! Then the bread was laid on top of this cloth. Then a red scarlet cloth was laid over the bread which represents the sacrifice! Then a thin skin was laid over the scarlet cloth which represents humanity! Jesus was the royal seed of God who took on humanity and shed His blood as the final sacrifice for the living and the dead! Jesus said i am the bread of life! Intelligence Test! Genesis 1:26-27
The true sign of intelligence is not knowledge but imagination! Albert Einstein (1879-1955) Comment: My Bible says that man was created in the image or imagination of God! When i look at my family and the world have have concluded God has a big imagination! Einstein was a Jew who Hitler kicked out of Germany in the 1930’s! He came to the United States and was involved in the Manhattan Project which developed the first atomic bomb which was dropped on Japan to end WWII. At the end of WWII as we investigated German secret weapons we found that Hitler was about six months from having an atomic bomb! What if Hitler had kept Einstein? A Jewish Chemist helped England win WWI. Einstein was probably the smartest man that has lived in my generation and you would have to go back hundreds of years to find another! However there is no one smarter than God our Creator! He gave us an imagination in His Image! Satan tries to destroy our image! If God really wanted to save the world he would have sent us a Savior! He sent us Jesus Christ a Jew! Because of the marred image of man by Satan man has difficulty wrapping his mind around Christ! What is the Atonement? 1 Chronicles 6:49
This word is of supreme Theological importance in the Old Testament and is central to identifying the remission of sin! The word means to cover but it does not mean to conceal. It means to impose something to change our appearance or nature! Sinners are reconciled to God by imposing something that would appease the offended party which is God! It is like writing a new contract! It means the writing over of a contract or cancelling the contract. In this case the old contract was the wages of sin was death! The sinner is covered in righteousness! God does not conceal our sin but changes our very nature! If He would just hide our sin we would just keep on sinning! Our attitude about sin is changed! We see our destructive ways are offensive to man and God. We see our selfishness displayed before us! If we view the atonement as just a covering then we are like the hog that gets a bath and then goes back into the swamp! If our nature is changed then we no longer love the swamp! Paul warned us about crucifying Jesus over and over again! That is to use the atonement as a license to sin! Jesus said we must be born again! In fact we cannot enter Heaven unless we are born again! We exchange our old nature for a new nature! When my old nature tries to come back i remind it of the Cross! God changes us without destroying our personality! We retain our soul, mind and body! Our new nature is like a miraculous transformation! Satan if permitted will destroy our mind, soul and body! The blood of Christ has redeemed us! We were redeemed over 2000 years ago and today we have to recognize Him and the atonement! When i got saved back in 1973 i did not understand all this but i knew something miraculous happened when i came to Christ! My sin and the penalty of death was judged on the Cross! Christ paid for my sin! This is the essence of the atonement! When we see the truth and act upon it we become born again! All things become new and old things are passed away! The Fool Has Said in His Heart——-Psalm 14:1
The fool has said in his heart there is no God! This is not all the verse but we will start here. So what is a fool? Do they just live in Washington D.C.? It means to be stupid, silly, dull as one taught by idols! We have a Television show named American Idol. An idol is man made then worshiped by man as God! In other words it is self-worship! A fool means to dishonor, come to nought, disgraceful, perverse, dishonorable, wicked and to fall away! Sounds like a Democrat? It also means to be dull, absurd and crippled! Handicapped! It also means to be fat! A fat head! Now the fool said in his heart! The heart is the immaterial inner self. It is the seat of the mind and the soul. It is the eternal part of us that will live beyond the grave! This is why Jesus said we must be born again! The eternal part of us must be transformed before death for whatsoever state that is at death continues on forever! That is why soul winning is urgent! It goes on to say they are corrupt meaning they are spoiled, decayed, perverted and come to ruin! They have done abominable works! That is to cause fear, disgust and are detestable! They are hostile towards all authority! None of them do good works! Good means to be kind and morally correct! What about those that claim they know God but do evil? Ten Sons of Israel 1 Chronicles 2:1
The ten sons of Israel are Reuben, Simeon, Levi, Judah, Issachar, Zebulon, Dan, Joseph, Gad and Asher. When you add the meanings of each name together you get an interesting image! Israel means He will rule as God. Reuben means to see a nation. Simeon means to listen intelligently. Levi means to unite and remain. Judah means to revere and worship as to open one’s hands. Issachar means He will bring a reward. Zebulon means a habitation. Dan means to rule and judge. Joseph means to add and multiply. Gad means a troop or army. Asher means to be straight, right, honest and prosperous. So when you add these images together who do you see? I see a picture of Jesus Christ! How about you? What image do people see in you and me? Is God a Show Off? 2 Kings 5:11-14
Naaman the Captain of the Syrian Army had trouble following simple directions! Can i get a witness? First of all he was informed by his Jewish servant girl who was captured and made a slave through the spoils of war that there was a God in Israel who could heal his leprocy! Then Naaman sends money to the King of Israel trying to buy his healing? The King of Israel rent his clothes saying am i God? So Naaman mounts up his chariots with his army and heads for Israel! He stops his chariot at the front door of the Prophet Elisha! Elisha does not go out to meet the Captain but sends his servant girl out to tell him to dip in the Jordan River seven times! Naaman lost his cool! Naaman thought God would come down in a bolt of lightning and make a big show for the world to see! Like dazzle the elite! The Bible says Naaman left in a rage! Are there not better rivers in Syria? Well more servants saved the day! Naaman’s servants asked him why not just follow the directions? Naaman took their advice and dipped in the Jordon seven times and got healed! It was a humble little servant girl that birthed forth Jesus! The Angel went to the humble shepherds to announce the birth of Christ! God did not make a big show! He appears to a few to save many! Pride can keep you out of God’s purpose and plan for your life! About 60 years ago there was a young man dying of tuberculosis in the slums of Seoul Korea! The doctor sent him home to die! He was coughing up blood! A little teenage girl would come by each day as he lay on his cot dying and pray for him. He would insult her, spit on her and call her a Christian dog! She asked him if he would surrender his life to Christ? She kept praying and his health improved! God healed him and he started a ministry in the slums of Seoul Korea! Today this church has over one million members and is the world’s largest church! Pastor Cho commissioned us as missionaries to India from 1984-1987. Pastor Cho could never find this teenage girl even though he has looked for past 60 years? The world and even some in the church think you are wasting your time praying for the sick and dying! No money in it for me? Waste of my time? God will use what the world discounts or throws away to bring Glory to His Name! God’s love never discounts anyone! Not even you! James and Hamsa Sasse.
