Armed Forces Day!

Pay Day! Revelation 22:12

“And behold, I come quickly, and my reward or wages is with me, to give every man according as his work or performance shall be.” Comment: Jesus is returning to earth with rewards for the Saints! Will all get the same rewards? No! Jesus said according to your works! Faith without works is dead! Wait Pastor? I thought we are not saved by our works? This is correct! Not by our own works but by the work of God on the Cross! After we are saved by the work of Christ on the Cross we carry on the works of Christ in the earth! The effectiveness of our works in Christ is a measurement of our rewards received when Christ returns! Remember the parable of the talents? One servant was given five talents and he made ten talents out of it! Another servant was given two talents and he doubled it! The last servant went and buried his one talent and was rebuked and cast into outer darkness! The rebellious servant had no faith to multiply what God had given him! Fear controlled his life! Did not want to risk anything for God! Those that multiplied their talents were commended by God! God has given each of us talents! Some more and some less! If you are faithful in small things I will make you ruler over much! If we disrespect God we bury our talents! If we respect God and the talents he has given us we multiply them to build his Kingdom here on earth! God promotes based on what you did with what he has given you! The little boy gave Jesus all he had! The two fish and five loaves of bread! Jesus multiplied that and fed five thousand! If you will not even give God ten percent of your income can you expect any multiplication? The work that is not burned up in the fire is the work that continues on after you leave the earth! Only the work that started in Christ will continue in Christ! Your good work will follow you! The joy of heaven will be meeting people who have preceded you to heaven and were part of what you began on earth for Christ! Also to meet later those that followed you to heaven that were part of what you began on earth! We are not in competition with each other but just responsible for what God has given us! Sunday Worship! Revelation 1:10

Greek Translation: “I,  John was in the spirit when the breath of God blew on me! It was on the Lord’s day! It was Sunday the day and time of life that belongs to Christ! It is his day therefore I submit to my King and Ruler this day! This day is owned by my God!” Comment: Man’s day is in opposition to the Sabbath! Fifty years ago when I was a teenager about 90 percent of all businesses were closed on Sunday! What about today in America? I hear about more and more Christians telling me they have to work on Sunday? If the businesses stay open on Sunday then the employee’s will have to work on Sunday! Where was John in the 1st century when he received this revelation? He was in the Lord’s House on Sunday! Do not expect to hear from God if you forsake the Sabbath! It is like trying to catch a fish by casting your line on a sand dune in the desert! If you want to meet God you need to be where he hangs out! Now John’s church building could have been his prison! Peter and the Apostles spent time in prison but still honored the Sabbath! Turn your prison into a House of worship! If you do not want to be where God is then you may need to repent! If you resist Christ’s church here on earth you are also resisting him in Heaven! The separation from Christ begins here on earth and continues resisting Heaven! In American culture work has become the agent of resistance to Christ and Sunday worship! Most people move away from Christ gradually taking many little steps! Choosing Good or Evil! Isaiah 56:2

Hebrew Translation: Blessed, happy and successful is the man that works, labors, toils and the son of man that layeth hold unto it; that keeps, watches and guards the Holy Sabbath, the 7th day of the week, on the same day God rested from His Creation and ceased from work. Keeping from polluting it or making it common and committing violence against God’s established law. Also keeping his hand of authority and responsibility from doing evil. Comment: The choice should be easy and obvious but it is not! The first day of the week is Sunday! Not Monday! In early America you could not find a business open on Sunday! If you are trusting in your own works then Sunday is just another work day for you! A chance to make more money! Then you believe the time you have is not a gift from God but belongs to you! All of it! This is an ownership question! No faith in God causes people to trust themselves and their own efforts! God rested on the 7th day so are we greater than God? Do you believe God is looking after you? Then show it! Pressures build as you try to carry the load by yourself! Your health is affected! Do not make Sunday just another day in the week! Do you follow God and His example or do you make up your own rules? I am almost 70 years old and have been walking with Christ for 44 years! The peace, joy and prosperity is beyond measure! I have been retired for 22 years! I have never been a slave to work but God works for me! May seem a prideful statement but not really! I do what I can do but understand I can do nothing without Him! My efforts are futile unless God Blesses my efforts! When I cease from my own labor and rest in Christ each Sunday I leave the results to God! Whether the experiences seem good or not my trust is in the Lord! When I tithe and make offerings each Sunday I am giving back to God what He has already given me! I watch for the Sabbath! I guard the Sabbath! Sorry sir I cannot work on Sunday! We will fire you! So be it! God will provide another job! I prepare for the Sabbath! My soul, mind and body prepare for it! Then I rest in Christ and he renews my soul, mind and body! My thoughts are continually on Him! My expectation is from Him! My reward is in Him! My joy comes from Him! My peace from Him and the relationship to Him! My eternity is framed by Him! His promises are mine! You can please God by making the right choice! Are You Acceptable? Isaiah 61:2

Hebrew Translation: “To proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord. The year of delight, favor, love, grace, kindness, as the pleasure of a King blessing his subjects! The year the High Priest’s sacrifices were accepted with the blood sacrifices and death accepted for our sin. The debt is now paid and the petitions or prayer requests are now heard and acted upon. And the day of vengeance when the High Priest entered the Holy of Holies and God’s rage, revenge and jealousy was poured out upon the sacrificial offering and accepted. Now after this the people can be comforted with compassion as the sacrifice for their sin has been accepted and they can take a deep breath and sigh of relief for their trespasses have been atoned for.” Comment: Today when we accept the blood sacrifice of Jesus Christ on the Cross for our sin this offering of God for God on  behalf of God is presented before the Father and our sin is forgiven. But what of the fate of those who reject the sacrifice of God’s only Son Jesus Christ for their sin? I would rather be a fallen angel in Hell than an unbeliever in the earth! Why? Because then they themselves become the sacrifice in judgment condemned to an eternity with their leader Satan! The one and only unpardonable sin is the rejection of Jesus Christ as their Savior! While you still have breath you can still chose Jesus Christ! But one day the opportunity in the chapter of your life will end! You are only acceptable to God through the blood sacrifice of Jesus Christ on the Cross for your sin! Nothing else qualifies you for Heaven! No works or no efforts of your past, present or future will suffice! The Apostle Paul with all his great scholarly abilities said I only know Christ and Him crucified and nothing else! Memorial Day Thoughts! John 15:13

Our greatest respect for those in our military and especially those who laid down there lives for their friends as Jesus commanded us to do! Jesus commanded us to love one another! Think about this! God laid down His life through His only Son Jesus Christ for His enemies! This act is more than human! This is another reason why Jesus is God! No human would do this! Everyone ever born who accepted Jesus Christ as Savior was first the enemy of God! Yes you and me! Now we better understand why Jesus also commanded us to love our enemies! Memorial Day! 2018

In the End, we will remember not the words of our enemies, but the silence of our friends! Martin Luther King Jr. Comment: The citizen’s of America that we owe the greatest debt of gratitude are not with us anymore! Their sacrifice for our freedom is forever engrained into the conscious of our soul. We cannot forget them because to do so would disrespect everything they did for us on the battlefield of service to our nation! Then we would no longer be America! To be less than American is to forget these patriot’s that we are eternally indebted to for they paid the debt for our freedom yesterday, today and for as long as this Republic endures!
