What Color is America?
Is it white, black, red, yellow or brown? The color of America is red, white and blue! MSG Roy Benavidez, Medal of Honor, Vietnam War. Comment: The color of our American flag represents character not race! White represents purity and innocence! Red represents hardiness and valor. Blue represents the color of our Chief, vigilance, perseverance and justice! The stars are the symbol of Heaven and the divine goal of men from the beginning of time! The stripes represent rays of light as from the sun! Character is chief among God and men! Nations that drift from character go into the annals of history! James and Hamsa Sasse. GodWhoisGod.com
Medal of Honor! Vietnam 1968
“I wear this medal for my fellow American’s who died along side of me in this combat engagement! It was easy to earn this medal however to wear this medal for them, the one’s that sacrificed their lives to defend me and my unit is the most difficult thing I have ever done in my life!” Staff Sergeant Drew Dixon, U.S. Army, Chau Doc Province, South Vietnam, January 1968
Valetine of Sacrifice! Acts 20:35
Not all are born equal. Some guy’s are smarter! Some guy’s are stronger and faster! Some guy’s are better looking! Where we can be equal is in courage and sacrifice! That is a choice! It is important our children understand this! Sacrifice is a good thing! Sacrifice for a soldier is a very good thing! There is no bottom line to it! People will sacrifice in society but only so far! They will want something out of it! Not a soldier! A sacrifice for a soldier will only deepen his capacity for more sacrifice! Sacrifice and responsibility go together! I am only able to stand here with this Medal of Honor around my neck because of the supreme sacrifice my comrades made for me in the midst of the battle! I wear this award for them and stand in for them! That is the only reason I am here! Patrick Brady, Medal of Honor Recipient, Vietnam War
Medal of Honor! John 15:13
I have watched some video’s of American Medal of Honor Winners from WWII, Korea, Vietnam, Afghanistan and Iraq. As I watched these I began to see a pattern in the lives of these brave men! Their love for their comrades on the battlefield led them to take very heroic actions in combat! One particular Vietnam Veteran really got my attention! When they were in the midst of a battle a Viet Cong soldier through a grenade into the midst of his army platoon! When he saw the grenade he said it was like being frozen in time! What to do? He took his steel helmet off his head threw it over the grenade and then threw his body on top of his helmet! The grenade exploded under his helmet tearing his stomach open and filling his body with shrapnel! He said his intestines were laying outside of his body on the ground! Another soldier came along and put his guts back in his stomach and taped his stomach closed with ribbons torn from his uniform! Another soldier came along and drug his body away from the fire fight so the medics and the helicopters could get him to a field hospital. He said we never left the dead or wounded for the enemy! His recovery took years at a Veteran’s Hospital. He said the hardest thing for him in this hospital was to see the young men come in from Vietnam and die in the hospital with no family around them! After his recovery he tried to go back to college but the protesting college students would mock him for going to war for his country so he left school. The other veteran’s also said that the love for each other is what kept them going and bonded them together! It was not the politics of the war or political parties that mattered to them! They had to look out for each other! That is what a family does for each other! Jesus said there is no greater love than for a man to lay down his life for his brother! Why did Jesus go to the Cross? His love for His Father! Only He could pacify the anger His Father had for His Creation! Remember Jesus words on the Cross? Father forgive them! Why have you forsaken me? The Vietnam Veteran’s even today feel forsaken by their country! But their love for each other bonds them together! We the people are free from foreign aggression because of their love for each other! Likewise we are benefited by God’s love in particular with Jesus love for His Father in being obedient even to the death on a Cross for our sin! Today Jesus position in Heaven is not by accident! He is seated at the right hand of the Father because of His love for His Father! None of us will even sit closer to the Father than the Son! Jesus is returning soon back to the earth to complete His love for the Father and for you! Jesus went into combat for you! He lives for you and died for you and rose from the dead for you and His love of the Father is also expressed to you! Love is manifested in relationship! We cannot love God if not in relationship to Him! You could never sacrifice your life on the battlefield unless in relationship to other soldiers of your Nation suffering the same combat! To honor God is to honor American Veterans! No one except President Trump understands the neglect our American Military Veteran’s! James and Hamsa Sasse. GodWhoisGod.com
Christmas Vietnam 1967
We have been ordered to take Hill 875. The hill has been bombarded by air power and artillery for the past three days! The ground shakes under our feet and our ears ring from the deafening sounds of battle. We are at the base line of this hill yet the Vietnamese continue to come down off this mountain at night and attack our positions! If we do not take this hill then we will all die! As a leader I know the only way we will take this hill is to send our best men up this hill. This means our best men will die! This is the way life works! God gave His best shall we then do less? I have tried in a thousand ways to take this hill without loss of life but the longer we wait the more American’s die! The only solution is to charge up this mountain and take it for America. We should put a U.S. consulate on this hill after we finish our job! It is difficult to maintain morale here with all those radical liberal college professors and their students fighting against us back home! They have joined Ho Chi Minh and his ideology of murder! It is better they stay back in America than be here with us where they would get us all killed! No Monday morning quarterbacks out here! You make a mistake out here and you do not see Monday! I wish our politicians understood this? I have to leave enough troops behind to recover our bodies and remove our wounded off this mountain to our helicopters to take them back to base camp. If I lead the charge the good men will follow! Freedom is cheap to those who have never paid the price! Those who lead the rebel’s back in America against this war can only do so by the freedoms obtained by those that went before them and paid the sacrifices to win victory over our enemies! Another officer got fragged yesterday? We must wait until daylight before the charge to allow the enemy to return to their positions on top of the mountain. The sun has now broken the dawn and now I must lead the charge up this mountain! The first one hundred yards was uneventful? I figure they figured we were not stupid enough to do this! They were wrong! Then they opened up with all they had! Machine guns, rocket launchers, grenades, mortars! It was rockets red glare, bombs bursting in air! We just kept running forward up the mountain! I kept getting hit with tree bark in the face from bullets cutting up the trees! The other problem was dirt hitting me in the face from bullets dancing around my feet! We would run right past gun positions and then break off behind them and clean them out! We got to the top of Hill 875 and planted the American flag on the top of the hill. We claimed this hill for America and Liberty! It is Christmas now and we count our Blessings we have obtained through our sacrifices and God’s sacrifice! We do not serve a bloodless Christ and we will never win a bloodless war! Squad Leader, Screaming Eagles, United States Marines, Christmas, Vietnam, 1967
Tribute To Vietnam War Veterans ! John 15:13
I graduated from high school in the summer of 1967. About 250 young men were being killed every week in Vietnam. I was ordered to report to my draft board in the summer of 1967. They asked me if I intended to go to college? They told me if I went to college 4 years and kept up my grades they would defer military service until after college. I thought this was strange? Should not everyone have to go as in previous wars? If you exempt some this will cause divisions in our culture! There is an old saying among my generation during the Vietnam war. It says the chickens went to college and the Eagles went to war! I decided to join the chickens. It was a big flock and plenty of bird brains in college during the war! Hundreds of new colleges sprung up all over America overnight with majors in basket weaving! To give exemptions to hundreds of thousands of college students was a big mistake! Any culture will be united if they are all making equal sacrifices in the war effort. I never demonstrated one day against the Vietnam war. If you play chicken the least you could do is support the Eagles! Things got worse! Martin Luther King assassinated in 1968 and then Bobby Kennedy! Race riots in every major city across America! The Tet offensive in Vietnam escalated the war. Our veterans returning from Vietnam were disrespected? At the end of the war with over 50000 killed and tens of thousands wounded what good can come out of this? Do not forget over 100000 Vietnam veterans commited suicide after coming home! In World war II everyone participated in the war effort! Vietnam veterans were just as courageous and exceptional in their service to our nation! History will show it was not the wrong war but the wrong approach to the war by our leaders. The same problem exists in our voluntary military today! Today only a small percentage of our population is involved in the war effort so most of the culture is disengaged from the war! Over the years I was always looking for something good out of the Vietnam war? Some think that the Berlin Wall coming down some 20 years later was due to financial expenditures the Soviets made fighting through proxy against us in Vietnam? As I watched several hours of combat film of the Vietnam war I began to see a pattern! As hundreds of helicopters picked up the dead and wounded American’s from the battle field I noticed the wounded who were still conscious were not concerned about their own wounds but concerned about their fellow comrades! They would say things like,”Who will protect my buddies if I am not there to defend them?” Who will help my brothers? Who will help them if I am not able? The Vietnam American veterans were not dying for a political philosophy or for the democratic or republican party! They were dying for each other! Jesus put it best in John 15:13 when he said,”Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.” That was what Jesus did for you and all humanity! When you pass by a Vietnam veteran tell him, “Thankyou.” James and Hamsa Sasse. GodWhoisGod.com
