What I have done here is go to the eight Hebrew root words that make up this scripture and translate it back into English. Well you may say haven’t the translators already done this? Yes they have but I like to dig deeper! You do not have to be a scholar to do this! Anyone with an interest can do this. If you do you will find golden nuggets of truth! So here we go! Fasten your seat belt! Isaiah 9:6 For unto us a child is born, an adopted son is given: and the government shall be on His shoulder: and His name shall be declared Miracle worker, advisor, the Mighty God of gods, God’s dwelling place, God as Father and Chief ruler of Peace! Comment: Do adopted kids do well? How about Moses? My name is James but not King James! Hopefully this will shed some light on an old scripture that has stood the test of time. Merry Christmas! Groaning Inwardly Romans 8:22-24
We groan inwardly at the loss of life recently in Colorado Springs and California! We never solve problems through violence! We groan but yet we are hopeful! We are either consumed by fear or we are pregnant with hope! Our expectations and confidence is in a little baby carried in a pregnant mother named Mary who lived over 2000 years ago! Man’s plan for this baby was also violence! Yet on the 3rd day He rose from the dead! Our hope and faith is in Christ and our future is in Him! He will also raise you from the dead! But He wants to start today! He will never leave you nor forsake you! Your eternity has begun here on earth! Will close out your eternity without Him? If your reality is based on your mortality then you can only groan! Be pregnant with the promises He has made to you both now and forever! The Poor Man’s Tithe! Deuteronomy 26:12
I am sure when some Pastor’s read this scripture they think this represents the level of giving by their congregation! If they do not increase their level of giving I am going to end up as poor as they are! Here is what Tripp’s Complete Commentary says; “Thus does God not only plead the poor man’s cause, (Deuteronomy 15:10-11), but he allots a portion of the 3rd years tithe, not only to the Levite, who is never excluded, but to the stranger, fatherless and widow, as Jerome observed and called it the poor man’s tithe.” Comment: Our Pastor Brady Boyd adopted orphans and I married a widow with orphans. After 42 years of marriage I can say there is no greater Blessing than to do what God says to do! Merry Christmas! James and Hamsa Sasse. GodWhoisGod.com
Abraham was a Syrian Deuteronomy 26:5
Even Jacob his grandson was still referred to as a Syrian! However God did change his name to Israel. Were they Syrian refugee’s? It says in the above scripture Abraham was ready to perish in Syria! They immigrated out of Syria. God saw it fit to get them out! God can Bless anyone from anywhere! Islam did not come along until 4000 years later. Islam is one of the most destructive religions ever devised by man! I would resist bringing them here to America for the risk would be great! If God saw it fit to get Abraham out of Syria why do our political leaders think they are so smart to bring them into America? Why? Could it be that they think they are smarter than God? Thankyou. Sunday, December 7, 1941
On January 27, 1941 U.S. Ambassador to Japan, Joseph C. Grew, wired Washington that he had learned information that Japan, in the event of trouble with the U.S., was planning a surprise attack on Pearl Harbor! No one in Washington believed this information. Many thought war was possible but could never surprise us. Most of our military leaders thought they would attack us in Manila. However, U.S. Admiral Kimmel wanted to take our fleet out of Pearl Harbor and meet the enemy at sea. Washington wanted to paint a more secure political climate! Japanese Admiral Isoroku Yamamoto had lived in America several years and knew American culture. He knew on Sunday morning Christian’s would be worshipping in services on the Island and it would be a day off for military members. Also Christmas preparations would be a distraction. On Sunday, December 7, 1941, at 0750, Hawaiian time, the first wave of Japanese aircraft attacked American forces! At the end of the day 2403 American’s were killed and 1178 wounded! Eighteen ships were sunk and 77 aircraft destroyed! Today, please have a moment of silence and remember the American’s who sacrificed their lives for us! These American’s did not have a Christmas day in December of 1941. We are battling an old enemy today but relatively new to American’s which is Islam! They also want to take Christmas off your calendar! Christmas has not always been a time of peace for American’s but remember our only real peace comes from Christ who sacrificed Himself to bring us peace with God! Merry Christmas! Righteous Rule versus Wicked Rule!
Proverbs 29:2 “When the righteous are in authority the people rejoice; but when the wicked beareth rule, the people mourn.” Who are the righteous? The word righteous in the Hebrew means those who live their lives in accordance with God’s standard! The words, “are in authority”, is translated from the Hebrew to mean those who are in the majority or more in number. The word wicked means those who are enemies of God and His people. Even though the world has always been a battlefield between the righteous and the wicked God still has His people everywhere! At the time of Christ’s birth Caesar and Herod ruled wickedly. Their wicked acts against Christ at His birth and at the Cross victoriously produced a foundation of redemption for man! His star today shines brighter to us than to the shepherds around Bethlehem! His light will always shine brighter and brighter as our world grows darker! As we celebrate Christmas remember the Herod’s of today are trying to stamp out Christmas are in the greatest need of Him! Be patient and remember we were once were on Herod’s team with the wicked! Christ is still pouring His love out on the wicked today and we must do the same! Merry Christmas! James and Hamsa Sasse. Who is God?
All views can’t be true because they are opposite; this is the logical aspect. For example, Islam says we are good in nature; Christianity says we are born in sin. Islam says God is a man; Christianity says he is more than a man, He is God. All truths cannot be the same. Norman Geisler. Comment: If you believe you are good but inherently evil then there is no moral ability for any redemptive work. Thankyou. James and Hamsa Sasse. GodWhoisGod.com
What Does Christmas Look Like?
What does Christmas look like? It has hands to help others. It has feet to hasten to the poor and needy. It has eyes to see misery and want. It has ears to hear the sighs and sorrows of men. This is what Christmas looks like! Saint Augustine (354-430 A.D.) Comment: Let God through Christ unwrap the gifts He has placed in you and release them to the world! Merry Christmas! Widows and Orphans on Your Shopping List?
Since 9-11, Iraq, Afghanistan and California Islam has created thousands of widows and orphans here in America! Even the Islamic attackers in California orphaned their own baby? God has given us scriptures in our Bible that instructs us to how to respond. I have included one Bible verse from the Old Testament and one verse from the New Testament. Deuteronomy 24:19 When you cut down your harvest in the field, do not fetch it; it shall be for the stranger, for the fatherless and for the widow: That the Lord may bless in all the work of your hands. James 1:27 Pure religion and undefiled before God and the Father is this, to visit the fatherless and widows in their affliction and to keep yourself unspotted from the world. Merry Christmas! Christmas Shopping Advice!
Since you cannot do good to all, you are to pay special attention to those who, by the providence of time, or place, or circumstances, are brought into closer connection to you. Saint Augustine (354-430 A.D.)
