The Nicene Creed

WE BELIEVE IN one God, the Father, the Almighty, maker of heaven and earth, of all that is, seen and unseen. WE BELIEVE IN one Lord, Jesus Christ, the only Son of God, eternally begotten of the Father, God from God, Light from Light, true God from true God, begotten, not made, of one Being with the Father. Through Him all things were made. For us and for our salvation He came down from heaven: by the power of the Holy Spirit he became incarnate from the Virgin Mary, and was made man. For our sake He was crucified under Pontius Pilate: He suffered death and was buried. On the third day He rose again in accordance with the scriptures: He ascended into heaven and is seated at the right hand of the Father. He will come again to judge the living and the dead, and His Kingdom will have no end. WE BELIEVE IN the Holy Spirit, the Lord, the giver of life, who proceeds from the Father and the Son. With the Father and the Son He is worshiped and glorified. He has spoken through the Prophets. We believe in one Holy universal and apostolic Church. We acknowledge one Baptism for the forgiveness of sins. We look for the resurrection of the dead, and the life of the world to come. Amen

God Repented? Genesis 6:6

The controversy of this scripture and Exodus 32:14 and Numbers 23:19, is the result of the translation of the word “Repented”, from the Hebrew to the English! You can research this yourself using any Strong’s Exhaustive Concordance. The word repented in the Hebrew means to be sorry. In the New testament the word “Repented”, in the Greek means to think differently or change your mind. The same two words in the English “Repented” used in both the Old and New Testament have entirely different meanings! God was sorry that He had made man! This is not a good testimony for the human race! But Noah found Grace in the sight of God! A man can feel sorry for his sin but never repent in the New Testament sense! In Exodus 32:14, the literal translation is: “The Lord was sorry of the evil which He spoke to do unto His people.” The English word “thought”, is the word “spoke” in the Hebrew. Moses in the previous verse reminded God of the promises He had made to the Jews. The slaughter came to the camp with 3 thousand slain! Forty years in the wilderness took out an entire generation! But God preserved a remnant to keep His promise! In Numbers 23:19 it says; “God is not a man that He should lie. Neither the son of man that he should be sorry! Shall He not do what He has spoken and shall He not make it good?” God’s promises are sure to us and He has saved a remnant out of the earth! I am sure I have made God sorry in my life but I have changed my mind and think differently now! If God changed His mind He would have pulled Jesus from the Cross! Don’t make God sorry today but repent and Christ will rejoice with you in your new life! Thankyou. James and Hamsa Sasse. GodWhoisGod.com

Good Grief! Ecclesiastes 7: 2-4

We need healing conversations this morning! Solomon says grief brings joy! American culture tries to pass by death! We want to avoid conversations about it! Solomon says in verse four that the heart of the wise is in the house of mourning. John 11: 32-35. Jesus knows how to grieve! In fact we see in this scripture that Jesus gets blamed for Lazarus death! Where have you buried him? Jesus wept! Why did Jesus stop and weep when He was about to raise Lazarus from the dead? We cannot skip over the sad places in our life! Jesus was fully man and fully God and is illustrated so plainly in these events! We cannot celebrate the miracles without paying attention to the process! Psalm 137. Two third’s of the Psalm’s are complaints and lamentations. The Jews were taken captive and taken to Babylon! The Babylonians took the best of the population back to Babylon and left the sick and elderly in Israel. Many of the grandchildren never saw their grandparents again! As the Jews sat by the rivers of Babylon they remembered Zion and wept! How do we grieve properly? First we must admit a new reality! Something is new about my life! Everything has changed about my life! It may be from a loss of a spouse, mother, father, sister, brother, job loss, sickness, financial loss, home or something else. I lost my dad in 2005. I miss dad but now a new reality. Second take time to weep. They wept in Babylon! Jesus wept! Slow down and grieve! Grieve properly! It is decompressing! Third remember the past! I have many good memories of my father! My father developed a barbeque sauce! He always wanted to get a patent on it. What my mother did not tell us for years is that she added some ingredients to the sauce so we could eat it! Tell the stories that make you smile at a funeral! See God’s imprint on our lives! Tell the stories that heal us and carry us on! What happens when we grieve properly? Our pain is confronted! We cannot ignore pain! In fact there is more pain for avoiding pain! Drug addiction is caused by trying to avoid pain! Invite the Holy Spirit into our pain! Jesus invited His Father into the pain in the Garden of Gethsemane! When we grieve properly we become available again! Your story matters! Millions of American’s have lost loved ones in battles of war in American history! Their stories matter! God is not finished with you yet! Your story is not over! Your final chapter is not the last one! God needs you available again! God will heal your heart! Even Jesus own disciples thought it was all over for them as Jesus went to the Cross! They scattered and went back to their old jobs! They could not look forward? God needs you available again! God knows what it is to grieve! Life was never the same when I lost my father! Storms are not forever! As we prepare for Communion let us remember the grieving of our Lord He has gone through for us on the Cross! Because He lives this morning we can live! He suffered so that we could have victory! He conquered death for us! Joy comes in the morning! He has Risen! Pastor Brady Boyd, New Life Church, Colorado Springs, Colorado.

What is a Hardened Heart? Exodus 4:21

If we take the Hebrew word, “Chazaq”, we find it is a verb and means to be courageous and overpowering! This might seem like a paradox in that God causes Pharaoh to become courageous and overpowering to oppose God! You might say Pharaoh played the fool! If I had been Pharaoh and know what I know now I would have told Moses that he could go! No problem! Sometimes the devil gets blamed for what God does and sometimes God gets blamed for what the devil does! Only God can give us discernment to know! If Pharaoh had been compliant to Moses God’s wonders, miracles and deliverance would not have been displayed as a testimony to God! The Egyptian women would never have given up their silver, gold and clothes to the Jews! They would have been sent away empty! Without Jesus on the Cross the resurrection would not have been possible for us! Remember some people will come into your life that seem useless and even to a great annoyance to you but yet God has a plan and purpose to bring His Glory out through you and the events caused by them and through them! God asked Moses, “Who has made man’s mouth, who makes the dumb or deaf or the seeing and the blind?” Have not I the Lord! The Queen of the Gospels Song Writer Fanny Crosby was born blind. She wrote over 8000 hymns! Over 100 million copies have been printed and distributed! She wrote 1000 poems! She had four books of poetry printed! My favorite song that she wrote is, “Blessed Assurance.” I have eyes yet I have not written one song? Pharaoh could not have done what he did without God’s help! Fanny or I or anyone cannot accomplish anything without divine intervention! God’s Grace is God doing for you what you cannot do yourself! Thankyou. James and Hamsa Sasse. GodWhoisGod.com

Just Say, “Caesar is Lord!”

Reply; “Eighty six years I have served Christ, and He never did me any wrong! How can I blaspheme my King who saved me?” Polycarp who was a disciple of the Apostle John was burned at the stake in 156 A.D. in Smyrna Turkey. Remember the message Jesus gave to the church in Smyrna some 60 years earlier? Revelation 2:9– “I know thy works, and tribulation, and poverty, but thou art rich and I know the blasphemy of them that say they are Jews, and are not, but are the synagogue of Satan.” Another Caesar Constantine about 150 years after Polycarp bowed his knee and confessed Jesus Christ as Lord! Christianity then became the official religion of the Roman Empire! Recently thousands of Christians have been martyred across the world before being asked, “Just say Mohammad is Lord!” Who is your Lord? My Bible says, “One day every knee must bow and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord!” For you make that one day today! Thankyou. James and Hamsa Sasse. GodWhoisGod.com

Consummation of Christmas! Revelation 11:15

And the seventh angel sounded; and there were great voices in heaven, saying, The kingdoms of this world are become the kingdoms of our Lord, and of his Christ, and he shall reign forever and ever! Merry Christmas! James and Hamsa. GodWhoisGod.com

Abuse a Stranger Exodus 22:21

President Obama quoted this scripture to justify his actions to give millions of illegal immigrants legal status through executive order! Obama is changing our laws all by himself? If a stranger is breaking the laws of the United States whether citizen or illegal there are consequences! We have laws for rape, murder, robbery and other crimes but if we change the laws to accommodate these crimes we are no longer a nation of law! If our laws can be changed by one man we are no longer a democratic nation of constitutional law! Then we will become a lawless nation! Watch what God told Israel in the previous verse 20. Quote; “He that sacrifices unto any God, save unto the Lord only, he shall be utterly destroyed!” Most of the crimes committed against American citizens from 9-11 forward have been committed by strangers or foreigners! There is another scripture that says a law is just if it is used justly. Is enforcing our laws just? Is not enforcing our laws just as President Obama has done over and over again! The purpose of the executive branch of our government is to execute or enforce our laws! Obama has failed doing his job! Anarchy is at our door step! What if Obama writes an executive order tomarrow increasing his term limits from two terms to four terms? Think about it! Thankyou. James and Hamsa Sasse. GodWhoisGod.com

World Christian Population At 33 percent! Zechariah 13:7-9

Does one third of the world’s population being Christian today have any significance? Zechariah wrote this prophecy 500 years before there were any Christians around! Then 2500 years before Christians populated the earth at one third the total population. First the Shepherd is slain (Christ) and the flock is scattered (disciples). Then two parts or two thirds shall be cut off and die. The third part shall be left. Then I will bring the third part through the fire and refine them as silver and tried as gold. They shall call on my name and I will hear them! I will say it is my people and they shall say, “The Lord is my God!” Comment; This one third factor appears in other scriptures in the Bible and especially in the Book of Revelation. Remember that God is a Trinity! In Revelation after the rapture of His Church one third of the earth’s population is gone! Then following this during the tribulation period one third of the earth is destroyed. Why? I will let you do the math. Also Lucifer and one third of the angels rebelled against God and were cast out of Heaven. This is just an appetizer to encourage you to not only read but study the Word of God! Thankyou.
