On Christmas, we celebrate the birth of Christ with prayer, feasting and great merriment. But, most of all, we experience it in our hearts. For, more than just a day, Christmas is a state of mind. It is found throughout the year whenever faith overcomes doubt, hope conquers despair, and love triumphs over hate. It is present when men of any creed bring love and understanding to the hearts of their fellow man. The feeling is seen in the wondrous faces of children and in the hopeful eyes of the aged. It overflows the hearts of cheerful givers and the souls!
Christmas Gift? Seal of God! Revelation 9:4
Remember in Revelation 5:1, the word book translated Bible in the Greek. The Bible in Heaven is sealed with 7 seals. Only one is worthy to open these seals is Jesus Christ! The Bible is not sealed here on earth but open to all who will receive it. When Jesus opens the seven seals in Heaven judgment is released on men on the earth. Now let us fast forward to Revelation 9:4. God’s judgment misses those on earth who have the seal of God in their foreheads! Notice it does not say on their foreheads but in their foreheads! This simply means those who have the mind of Christ and are sealed by the word of God which is the Holy Bible. Christmas is about the word of God becoming flesh! Christ born into the earth! The word of God defends us from the judgments of God and seals us from unrighteousness! We have no better defense and no better offence to win the battles before us! The Flying Bishop! Ezekiel Chapter 1
Bishop Milton Wright was President of two Bible Colleges and Bishop of two denominations here in America over his career! In the late 1800’s he had travel to the annual Bishop’s Conference. His son Wilbur drove him to the train station by horse and buggy. He boarded a steam engine locomotive for travel to the conference. As presiding Bishop things went well at the conference except for one crazy Pastor who had visions of men flying in machines! This Pastor disrupted the conference with his loud outbursts about this vision. Bishop Wright put this Pastor on probation and warned him he would not tolerate weird behavior in our denomination! When Bishop Wright got home he explained to his son’s Wilbur and Orville the strange vision this Pastor had at the conference! By the way boy’s what are those strange contraptions you are assembling in our barn? Boy’s please tend to your farm work and take care of our horses, cows, pigs and chickens! Boy’s our barn is starting to look like a machine shop? One thing I have learned for over 50 years of Bible study is that what we see on earth first existed in Heaven!
