I watched a live video of a combat operation in Vietnam during the war! The U.S. Marines had the objective of taking this hill in the middle of the jungle from North Vietnamese army supported by the Chinese regular army. The fighting was intense with Americans moving up the hill taking casualties and wounded as they advanced! What I noticed the American troops that were sacrificed allowed the remainder of our troops to further advance until the objective was accomplished and the hill was in American hands! The experiences of war have Biblical implications! Here is what the Apostle Paul said in II Corinthians 5:15: “And he died for all, that those who live should no longer live for themselves but for him who died for them and was raised again.” Comment: I notice the Medal of Honor awarded soldiers, airman and Navy military men and women who are awarded this Medal by the President of the United States for Valor in combat always clarify that they are wearing this award for them! Obama’s Assassination on Law and Order!
Another cop murdered yesterday in Texas! He made a routine traffic stop and was murdered by a gunman in another vehicle! Obama started his war on cops and it continues! My suggestion to police forces across America is that you have to be dressed for the new job! Like Israel you need to dress in full combat gear when you go out on the job! We have a Muslim in the White House and death and destruction follows them where ever they go! Full combat gear is the way Israel protects their civilian defense forces from the Islamist! Since Obama has come into office the job description has changed for law enforcement and the danger to your lives has increased! PTSD Post Traumatic Stress Disorder
All of our returning veterans can suffer from this disease! Why does it only manifest itself when our veterans return and not in the combat theater? When they return the threat is gone! Bonnie Gray has some interesting insights into this problem! Combat veterans are trained to survive using their weaponry. When they return home the threat is still in their minds from training, combat experience and long periods of exposure to battle field conditions! So the first thing they do when they get home is buy a weapon for security from the threat! They are depending on their own works to protect themselves! We as Christians also must not depend on our own works! Yes, Faith without works is dead but works alone will result in dead works! We need to allow for whitespace which is simply spending quality time with God in prayer, Bible study and church attendance! God Blesses our work if we rely upon Him and commit the work to Him and through Him! Grace is God doing for you what you cannot do for yourself! Suggest you buy her book! Failure + Success = Humility
A famous quote by Mark Twain says, “Failure is never permanent and success is never final!” The most challenging part of our life cycle is not dealing with failure but being able to successfully handle success! If success is only a tool to get above others and control others then we misuse God’s Blessings! A Godly Blessing should help us help others to be successful! Who you give the credit to is an indicator of a right or wrong attitude about success. Excuses cannot be our foundation for failure. When we take responsibility for our actions and repent then a door is opened from God for recovery towards success. When we take the Blessings God has given us and give credit to ourselves and not honor Him and the people He has placed in our lives we set ourselves up for failure. Charles Lindberg Goes Green!
American hero Charles Lindberg was prohibited from joining the Army Air Forces by President Franklin Roosevelt because his loss in combat would be unacceptable to America. Charles did not give up easily so in 1942 he stowed away in a cargo ship headed for the South Pacific. He then hitches a ride on a small boat to a remote Pacific island where a squadron of P-38 fighters were stationed. He watches a mechanic work on a P-38 fighter along the beach of the island. The mechanic asked Charles what his name was and how did he get on this island? He replied my name is Charles and I arrived on a small boat. The mechanic got nervous and went to his Commanding Officer. The mechanic reported this guy showing up behind his back like a bat out of hell while he was repairing his P-38! The Commanding Officer checked out Charles and determined he was not a spy but Charles Lindberg. They gave Charles a private tent with Kerosene lanterns so he could study his P-38 design documents at night. Charles studied every aspect of the P-38 aircraft during the daylight. Then Charles asked the CO if he could take the P-38 on a test flight? The CO was nervous because if Charles were killed in a flight accident his head would roll! Charles got permission and away he went on P-38 test flights. To make a long story short Charles figured out how to double the effective combat range of the P-38 fighter from 900 miles to 1800 miles. This caught the Japanese by surprise as American pilots could now reach deep behind Japanese forward bases and destroy much of their war materials. These changes in flight procedures on the P-38 were applied to all squadrons in the South Pacific and to the European theater. Charles flew one combat mission in a P-38 and shot down a Japanese Zero fighter. So Charles not only saved a lot of fuel but many lives as the war concluded sooner. Comment; America was and is made great by her people! If you are new to America or an immigrant you need to study American history and follow the lead of great Americans! There are millions like Charles! The mechanic was also important to victory in World War II. Do not depend on the government for welfare but apply your mind God has given you to invent things that make other people’s lives better! I will never forget a wall plaque in a rest stop along the I-95 Northeast corridor. This plaque contained a quote by Thomas Edison. He said,”Lord let me not have one invention unless it helps someone else.” I like the definition of work given by a Jewish Rabbi. He said,”Work is making someone’s life better!” Welfare is destructive while work brings out God’s creativity in each of us! God will save America if we will follow His ways! Thankyou. Military Humor!
Rick Jason starred as Lieutenant Hamlin and Vick Morrow as Sargeant Saunders in a military world war II television series back in the 1960’s called ‘Combat.” As a lot of shows back then they contained high moral content. The U.S. Combat units were engaged with 1000 German infantry who were located on a mountain with heavy weapons. Lt. Hamlin’s squad was located at the base of this mountain dug in watching allied aircraft and artillery pound the German positions. A new recruit found Lt. Hamlin in the trenches and said, ” Sir if we get lucky the Germans will vacate this mountain tonight!” Lt. Hamlin repied,” private tonight we are going to make some of our own luck for we are going to crawl up this mountain beginning at 2000 hours and take this mountain for America.” Some of these old movies can be seen on Youtube. They portray something very important for in the midst of death and destruction great moral character is demonstrated! Just like we see at the “Cross!” As we approach the 4th of July celebration remember our military members of past, present and future who have and will pay the ultimate sacrifice for our freedom!
