Fear Not! 1 John 4:18

“There is no [fear] in love, but [perfect] love casteth out fear; because fear hath [torment]. He that [feareth] is not [made perfect] in love.” Commentary: Five Greek words are bracketed above. Two different words used for fear! The first word “fear” means a Godly fear or reverence! His love removes fear and only a desire to worship him! True love comes when you discover how much he loves you! What is perfect love? This is attaining your moral end or purpose in Christ! The word torment is not just a temporary punishment but an eternal one! It is a punishment for violating God’s laws! It is called sin! Sin produces the torment! Like Judas betraying Jesus! Hanging himself! There is no redemption in this torment! It is like a ticking time bomb in the soul of those that Christ! Anger is the fruit of this spirit! This produces no betterment in the soul. The next word feareth is a terrifying fear that causes one to flee or run away! No peace only running to and fro with no cure! Many people are running from God with the guilt of their sin! The last word “made perfect” we have discussed before. The love of Christ perfects the love of God in us to return that love to God and man! Our desire and mission is to accept his mission to save men! Take the Gospel to the ends of the earth! We want to share our experiences of the love of God with others. So why would some reject this love? Why would they reject their only Savior? People try to establish their own righteousness! They want to be God! Replace him! Pride before the fall! Self righteous! Like Lucifer is doing! Lucifer who became Satan! Make God in their own image! To try to establish their purpose outside the purpose of God! Producing a hell on earth rather than heaven! I will never forget the cartoon I saw in a newspaper years ago. It was a picture of a caveman with a club over his shoulder walking down a road from a mountain into a valley. The caption he spoke was I fear no evil as I walk through the shadow of the shadow of death because I am the meanest S.O.B. in the valley! Fear Not! Luke 1:30

Greek Translation: “And the angel Gabriel said unto her, Fear not do not be terrified, Mary for though you have found seeking it or not favor granted to you by grace alone.” Comment: Mary you did not earn this! You were not even seeking this favor! I decided to give it to you not based on merit! You do not deserve my favor! We lived in Colorado Springs, Colorado from 2012-2016. Just up in the mountains west of the Springs is a small mountain community by the name of Woodland Park. In the midst of this small insignificant community is a great ministry founded by Andrew Wommack! He is about my age that is old! New ministry facilities have been built in this community! We would go up to these ministry facilities for worship! When I walked into these beautiful buildings the word “Grace”, came to my mind! Even if I lived a thousand years I would not earn enough money to pay for this Bible College! The Lord asked me do you want to be a part of something you could never do on your own? That is grace! Here is a key thought about God’s grace! The grace he gives you is always for others! Mary benefited the world through the birth of Jesus! The question is really can God trust you with his grace? Judas proved he could not be trusted! God is trusting you with his grace! If you are faithful in small things you will be faithful in much! Jesus on the Cross asked the Father why have you forsaken me? Nevertheless not my will but your will be done! On my death bed I was trusting Jesus for heaven like the thief on the Cross! After the miraculous healing God had to trust me with the new life he had given me! Could he trust me with a miracle? What was I going to do with it? Live like the devil? Can you be trusted with what God has given you or do you claim it as your own? You are bought with a price! For 20 years Andrew went to work everyday in his low power radio station in the Springs! God saw he could be trusted with small things! If you trust God he will trust you! God had to trust Jesus with Joseph and Mary! Mary could have turned the child over to King Herod for abortion or she could have fled to Egypt to protect Jesus. Mary was trustworthy even at the Cross when most of the disciples fled into hiding! Later the disciples proved themselves trustworthy even unto martyrdom! Can God trust you with his gifts? Can God trust me with the ministry he has given me? In spite of the persecution, mockery and all that comes against us we must be faithful! The ten Nigerian Christian’s that were beheaded this week proved themselves faithful to the end! How about you? Do Not Add or Subtract!

Revelation 22:18-19  Greek Translation: “For I testify unto every man that hears the intelligent written words of the prophetic rank of this Book of writing where the names of the souls of the saved are written down and that any man who shall add unto it shall add the plagues that are written in this book. And if any man shall take away from the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the Book of Life with the names of the saved written therein, and out of the Holy City inclusive with those separated, consecrated and devoted to serve God and the promises to them written in this Book.” Comment: What would be some examples of adding to the Word of God? Darwinism, Evolution, Islam, Hinduism, Buddhism, Sikhism, atheism, humanism, secularism, socialism, communism, fascism, Nazism, ANTIFA, and the list goes on and on! Democracy established in our U.S. Constitution is the closest we can get to the Theocracy of God! Our three branches of government are patterned after the Trinity! Father, Son and Holy Spirit. The trinity of government is the legislative, executive and judicial branches. This balance of power assures liberty and freedom and helps to prevent tyranny! The Father is the law giver or legislative branch. Moses was given the ten Commandments! Jesus Christ his Son is the executive branch! He executes the laws with judgment and redemption! All judgment is given unto the Son! The Holy Spirit is the interpreter of the Law! He is the judicial branch! When I read scriptures the Holy Spirit interprets the Bible for me! Do you think the Apostle John understood everything he recorded in the Book of Revelation given to him by the angel? No! The Holy Spirit helps you to interpret it! God has created all people since the beginning of time! That is God has chosen you! He has given you life! All that is left for you to do is choose him! We can refuse to believe the scriptures! We can choose our own way of sin and death! We can refuse Creation and replace it with Evolution! We can reject the Trinity! We can reject the virgin birth! We can reject salvation! We can reject the resurrection! We can reject the sacraments! We can embrace atheism! We can refuse the blood of Christ! Happy Holidays but no Crosses allowed! Do not mention his name! Do not say Christmas! To mock his name is no problem! Remember the Jefferson Bible? Thomas Jefferson tore out every page of the Bible he did not believe! The Jefferson Bible is a very thin Bible! It is on display today in some museums! He subtracted from the Word of God! You are free to chose Heaven or Hell! When it comes to your Bible it is better to have poor math skills so you cannot add or subtract from it! It will save your soul! There are blessings and consequences in life and eternity based on our choices! If the culture of America rejects Christ then the Democracy will not save you! Evil people will elect evil leaders! This is why our Founding Father’s said this Democracy will not survive unless we have a religious people to sustain it! We are in a war between good and evil! Look Forward not Back!

The greatest weakness in the church today is that the servants of God keep looking over their shoulder for the approval of men! R.C. Sproul   Comment: Jesus had his moments of popularity and then they killed him! Approval of men can lead to the disapproval of God! Favor with God does not guarantee me favor with men! Liberation theology is really a denial of the Holy scriptures! The church in America today is walking on a tight rope! God does not oppose men but our sin! God has created man and has provided us a way to be acceptable to him! This is why Christ went to the Cross! We live in a world today where people work very hard to deny their sin! Cultural norms today in America promoting gay marriage, lesbianism, transgenderism and abortion oppose God’s laws! It is useless to make a law that opposes God’s laws! Church leaders who join Satan in promoting these sins  is blasphemy! If our desire is to be popular with men we can never please God! We can either identify our sin as defined in scripture and repent of them through Christ or we can deny our sin and reject the Christ who sacrificed himself for your sin! It is a matter of who do you reject? Reject your sin or reject Christ! Reject your sin and accept Christ! You cannot have it both ways! Which is it going to be? One way leads to eternal life and one way leads to eternal damnation! Where you want to spend your eternity is up to you! Heaven or Hell! The big lie is to deny Christ for then you are denying Heaven and Hell! No bigger fools have lived on the earth! The bed we make we have to sleep in! Lead us not into Temptation!

Pope Francis wants to change this section of the Lord’s prayer to: “Keep us from falling into temptation.” I do not have any problem with this semantics however the word we need to pay attention to is “Temptation.” In James 1:13 it says God cannot be tempted neither does he tempt any man! Why? Because there is no sin in him and he is Holy! Satan is the father of sin and executer of all sin! What did Jesus mean by “Lead us not into Temptation?” What Jesus meant with this model prayer to the Father is lead us not into denying Christ! The only unpardonable sin is to deny Christ! Every other sin can be forgiven! To deny Christ is blasphemy against the Holy Spirit who is part of the Trinity along with Christ! I touched on this topic in January of 2018. You can type in on our search box of our blog, “Hour of Temptation! Revelation 3:10”, and it will take you to this posting. So in Revelation 3:10 what did Jesus mean by keeping us from the hour of temptation? Keeping us from denying Jesus! The 21 Coptic Christian believers who were beheaded last year were kept from the hour of temptation! Christ will give us strength not to deny him! So what are the forces in American culture that put pressure on you to deny Christ! There are many! Popular culture in Hollywood, Political correctness, political left, liberal media and social media, educational teaching of atheism in evolution, humanism, socialism, abortion, racial supremacy, anti-colonialism, gay marriage, lesbians and transgenderism! These are not all but the more obvious! These are the principalities and powers of darkness that will tempt you to deny Christ! So how do we resist the Devil? The same way Jesus did! With the Word of God! It is written man shall not live by bread alone! It is written! It is written! If you do not know your Bible you are hanging out on a limb! An eternity at stake! Jesus came to deliver us from our sin! The only way you can thwart God’s love for you is to deny him! So who would be so foolish? Many!
